Morning all,

shonno how ace, i wish my DH would start getting spontaneous and stop leaving things to the last minute, He's very sensible really because once the cot is in our room it will be awkward to use my side of the bed and it will be in the way so I can understand him wanting to leave it for as long as possible but I also want to coo over it and start looking into it and imagining my baby there. The moses basket is ready though so i guess he has somewhere to sleep.

I feel very peculiar today. Woke up feeling deep crampy pains, that were emanating out of my belly and round my back. I must admit to having a bit of a "woah there, is this it" moment. Jago is being incredibly active and i feel like it's him setting off the spasms. I also feel sick, i felt sick yesterday too. I'm not sure but I think thats it's the congestion from my cold thats making me feel like this.

I have to admit that I lied to my friend and said I had passed it my sister. :( I feel bad, but I couldn't tell her i'd stuck it on freecycle. It was just one of those things-it was hanging around-it was huge (massive non collapsable pram attachment, full car seat plus the pushchair and frame which didn't fold down to much) and taking up all the room we needed and she hadn't got back to me. i hope to god she never sees the post on freecycle-I do have the email of the guy who took it so i could ask for it back, but how embarrasing and theres no guarantee I would get it back. Do you think it's worth just sending an email to the man to say if youre not getting on with it, then please let me know.

fishandlilacs · 25/11/2011 09:23

yummy my birth announcement will be a text message :)

redheadbedhead · 25/11/2011 09:37

Yeah I reckon that email would be worth it fish, you may as well, although actually sdhe might have sorted herself out with another pram by then and then you'd be stuck with it again!

my birth announcements will also be by text message, if they're lucky!! Smile

redheadbedhead · 25/11/2011 09:38

got my nappies this morning as well - thanks to whoever posted that in the first place. I've now got about 10 free nappies of varying shapes sizes and eco-friendliness Grin

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 25/11/2011 09:39

I vaguely have an idea about some cards which we'd print off the home printer but they're waaayyy down my list of things to do and totally non-urgent, just a nice idea. All the key people would be getting phone calls anyway so it's more a keepsake than an essential notification.

It was Christmas here today!!! Grin
Dp picked up the cot last night on his way to work and decided he would build it whilst waiting on me getting up this morning. The cot came from his sister. She also sent over this baby bath as well as a Johnsons Baby Essentials kit and Huggies Newborn Starter Kit. Which includes a 'newborn' hat which mahoosive!
Oh im all giddy.. And Dp e v e n t u a l l y got his bonus at work so he is going to Ikea to get all our new furniture bits and bobs.
And im getting to see 'Bobby' this afternoon!!

Im totally ignoring the Freezing gale force winds and rain. And the leg cramps during the night!

Fish I would tell the pram lady that as she never got back to you you presumed she didnt want it and you knew of a home that needed it so you gave it to them instead. Oh and that its polite to answer peoples messages! Wink

yummy When Dd was born we made an announcement by text to a select list of folks and word spread that way. I made Thank You cards with a small pic of Dd on it which was the first proper photo anyone saw of her.
Hehe I got in big trouble as the pic I had posted on FB of her was of her tiny cute wee baby feet!

Happy Friday Ladies!!

addictediam · 25/11/2011 09:46

My birth announcement will be a text and phone call (depending on time of day!) for all close family and friends and then a fb announcement for overseas family and friends.

Fish we did abit of stalking yesterday and dh doesnt think he knows you, but he's not overly sure! And I would have done the same with the friend!

Talking about freecycle on my local site yesterday 1 person posted 3 wanted adds -

1 - patio doors
2 - Windows
3 - a conservatory
I am always shocked at what people ask for, doors and Windows ok, but a whole conservatory!? Shock

I'm going shopping tomorrow and I'm so excited :o were buying the pushchair and all other outstanding baby bits as well as a new Christmas tree and dds stocking fillers. Im going to be exausted by tomorrow evening.

fishandlilacs · 25/11/2011 09:50

yummy yes I paid for delivery.

supadupapupascupa · 25/11/2011 09:55

Just butting in....amazon have a medela swing breast pump (normally £90) as one of their black friday offers. The price is revealed in 4 hrs. I have this pump and it's ace! Smile

supa do you have a link please?

redheadbedhead · 25/11/2011 10:12

there are loads of breast pumps on ebay if you're not squeamish about that kind of thing, especially when you don't know how much you're going to use it for. i got a hardly used top class philips one with all the bits for £20. (normally 90 i think)

trying to bid on ergo baby carriers now after my other one got lost in post Sad not doing too well so far as they're way more expensive than the baby bjorns for some reason..

i paid for nappy delivery too. only 50p tho, bargain.

shon your message is so gleeful, cheers me up! i am doing tidying because I've got some friends over later but keep getting knackered and giving up on the sofa...

addicted that was me with the conservatory, I'd also like a camper van, a holiday to the carribbean, and a bigger house. anything you can help me with there?

redheadbedhead · 25/11/2011 10:13

i have to just say i haven't actually tried the breast pump yet....too scared in case something comes out of me!!!!! so it might not even work!!!!!

fishandlilacs · 25/11/2011 10:16

Hi again. Sorry i am hogging this thread today.

I appear to be having a bit of a melt down. Feeling very vulnerable, can't stop crying, just tried to phone my mum and my best friend but no answer from both and DH is at work but he's aware of how I am-just sent me a lovely text. I suddenly just got really really frightened, these cramps, combined with reading those birth stories just reminded me of how close this all is. I'm really not sure if I can do birth again but i'm frightened of having another c section.

shit-someone slap me. I need to pull myself together.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 25/11/2011 10:20

fish - big hugs darling. You're doing just fine and you can do this - think about it - this time you know what an amazing things you're going to get at the end! That's an advantage us first timers are just trying to guess at. Let me know if you need to chat on FB or anything
xx

fish i'l slap you if you slap me!

My gleefulness has turned into 'oh shit im having a baby!!' You would think the bump and the failing body would have gave it away eh Hmm

It doesnt help having a cot sitting in the middle of the livingroom floor.
Im also freaking out because the measurments on the cot say the base is 117x54cm but cot mattress' are marked as being 120x60cm so naturally im afraid that a standard mattress wont fit it!! aaarrrgggghhhhhhh

So glad I dont live in a house of straw or a house sticks. This wind is soo strong that my house would be in pieces across the road!

redheadbedhead · 25/11/2011 10:30

seems we're all freaking out today (see my fb update too!) fish you're going to do great whichever way your little one comes out. when it's all over you don't have to do it again and you'll have a beautiful baby to prod and look at Smile can't remember if you've done any hypno stuff but it's really good for positivity about the birth, I've been a bit rubbish with mine lately which is prob why I'm freaking out again...

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 25/11/2011 10:39

I just feel sad about not being pregnant any more, but am feeling remarkably positive about giving birth. I figure I may as well, as fretting about it won't make it any easier and may even make it harder, so why stress myself now?
