yes someone said to me about some powders but i havent looked for them yet. i think i might have to get some when i go to town tomorrow tho. she did sleep better last night, bed at 7.30 woke at 2.30 and 5.30 but still got hot little cheekc most of the time. i have a teething toy that i hold for her to have a chew on but she just pulls a funny face at it, like 'what the hell are you trying to put in my mouth', and dribbles alot!

yet another crisis in my householdSad week before last there was a rumer started that chris and his work mates girlf was having affair. its not true, i know for a fact its not, but someone has started it, no idea why. the girlf i shall call N is also my friend is pissed off to have been accused and thinks it was started buy another work mates family.
cut a long sotry short, the women had a huge argument yest, all over 'he said she said' shit. i wasnt there but my name got dragged into it and what i have said was twisted, and the work mate left work and not come back!! he is abit of an arsehole, always has been and he has been taking advantage of chris's good nature just recently so good riddance really, i just dont like falling out with people, not that i have actually fallen out with anyone, i just odnt like bad feelingSad

That's awful Liz amazing what people will say to fill their sad little lives!!

Well, Euan had been a right grotty thing. He has been eating and eating so not sure if another growth spurt (does he ever not have one??)
Anyway, rang the hv as not sure if I could try solids. He was 12 weeks Saturday so know its uber early, but he's waking in the night again, screaming for his feeds in the day and being generally miserable!
Anyway, she said hold in the solids for now. Not saying no as she's flexible with the whole starting earlier, and the waking in the night is a general sign of needing solids at his age apparently, but she said he may have gastro reflux, basically heartburn she said. Going in for his jabs Thursday so she's going to hopefully get him a prescription for baby gaviston that you put in his bottles.

Bought him http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000YZAG7I/ref=redir_mdp_mobile one of these today. He's getting bored in his bouncy chair, and he can sit up when we hold him at the waist.
Also he rolled onto his side yesterday Grin

Oh god, Liz, that's horrible. Like you say, though, good riddance. And no matter how sure you are about Chris, even somebody saying something like that is really upsetting. Some people really are scum. Poor Violet and the teething too. Florence has got two teeth now - at the back - but only one part of them IYSWIM. Dreading the rest coming through, though we've got bonjela now. I've used those powders with Tom but tbh I wasn't totally convinced. Mind you, anything that helps... I need to get a couple of teething rings for the fridge.

Klou - big hugs. I don't think Mums realise quite how undermining they can be when you have your own and how the 'advice' can end up being really bloody annoying. Or that they remember how tiring it is having a little one. I hope you get time to take yourself off, give yourself a lovely treat and lots of non-pressured time with your little man.

Evening Ladies,

Well the colic is getting me down now Sad

Sophie has got a lot worse with it. We abandoned the water idea as it came to a point where it just wasn't working and are now trying colief, although since she's been on it she's seems to be almost constipated trying to fill her nappy and generally smells a bit yeasty. Very grizzly through the night up to about 1am and also quite a lot of the daytime now too, it seems 1am to about 6am is her only happy time. Has been really projectile sick as well, twice yesterday and once today. Hmm

Seeing the HV tomorrow to get her weighted as i just want a bit of piece of mind that at least she's progressing in that department. Also going to try and get to a bf support group next week as she's suggested I get my latch checked

lizandlulu · 08/11/2011 20:10

madkatz is there any baby massage classes in your area? there is a colic routine that could help, i cant explain it cause its too difficult. stroking the tummy can help, always in a clockwise direction tho.

klou that looks good. i have a bumbo but i dont think she can hold her head steady enough for it yet, also got one of these in pink off ebay for £20

www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=bright+starts+bounce+bounce+baby&hl=en&rlz=1T4ADFA_enGB419GB419&prmd=imvns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1360&bih=482&wrapid=tlif132078286925910&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=15044836168448955720&sa=X&ei=HYy5TqOKCYnZ8AOK3ZXQBw&ved=0CGAQ8wIwAA#

i also have one of the blow up rings that she could sit in that i am sure she would be ready for now as it supports her back well, just got to take it to work to get blown up by the tyre airline but its so damp outside i dont want to get it wet. no way am i blowing it up myselfGrin

KLou111 · 09/11/2011 08:39

So sorry madkatz poor little Sophie, and poor you too. It's awful not knowing what to do for them isn't it? Here's hoping the hv or bf class can help soon.

I wanted one if those Liz was going to see if anyone fancied buying it for Euey for Xmas Grin as he should be able to use it by then.
He seems ok with holding his neck, although I don't think we'll put him in the chair for long at any one time.
I looked at a bumbo and table, that's how I came across that one :)

Well, went to sleep at 7 last night. Decided to feed Euan at 10.30 to see if he'd give me the night off. Hurrah, he woke at 4.40, full bottle, back off at 5 and I let him sleep til 7.45 when he woke. Rob did the late feed, although Euan was being a bit fussy so I tried, he took a further 2oz from me, total 5oz.
Feel so good this morning :)

Got Sophie weighed yesterday - 9lb 13!! The HV was well impressed and told me to stop worrying about my latch as its obvious she's doing fine. So it is just colic. But she did have a good night and was only grizzly for about half an hour after her midnight feed Grin

Liz have booked to go on the next baby massage but it isnt until January, we can't go yet as Sophie is too young.

lizandlulu · 10/11/2011 12:21

yey for sophieSmile hopefully she has turned a corner!

i cant wait for this weekend! i am off to bicester outlet, going sat when chris come home from work, staying in travel lodge, then shopping on sunday. a am mostly looking forward to a full night uninterrupted sleepGrin after the week i am having it cant come soon enough

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 10/11/2011 12:34

Hi all! I'm back! My phone has been in repair all week and my spare one isn't good enough to get on mumsnet.

liz thats awful! Some people are just so ridiculous it's unbelievable! Im glad violet had a good christening, any pics up yet?

klou my mil is just the same, she tells me i need to leave poppy with her to get her used to being away from me, and i have to start feeding her this, that and the other Hmm

madkatz shes a good weight now! I hope the colic clears up soon, it's not nice for them is it?

iwish how is joshua doing now?

gruff i can't believe flo has 2(ish) teeth already! How old is she now?

Poppy got her first tooth on friday, the day she turned 20 weeks! I only found out when she grabbed my finger and bit it :o

lizandlulu · 10/11/2011 13:09

i wondered where you were melly! yes there is a couple of pics up.

where is her tooth? didnt she have any teething problems? lucky girl if you didntGrin

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 10/11/2011 13:17

She was (and still is) just immensely grumpy and cried/s all the bloody time, the house is a tip, I've not been able to get anything done as everytime I try to put her down she just cries! It's a front bottom tooth.

Lovely pics by the way :)

lizandlulu · 10/11/2011 14:14

have you given her anything? i ahve got the gel (boots own as ingerdients were same as others) but cant get the powders anywhere. aparently if you can get soem, you can mix them into a paste to put on their gums which lasts longer then the gel.

KLou111 · 10/11/2011 18:47

Hope Sophies colic starts to settle soon madkatz, can you use gripe water yet as I found that a lot better than anything. Got a syringe off the hv which was easier than a spoon!

Sorry poor poppy feeling sore melly dreading it. I have the bonjela ready, but may try to find the powders in the net.

Well had eueys second lot if jabs today. First he didn't even flinch, then the second he had a little scream, dummied him and kissed him and seconds later he forgot about it which was fab!!!
But get this, she weighed him and he's put on 2lbs 12oz in 4 weeks!!!! Is now 14/12!! She said I did well feeding him for as long as I did as he obviously needed the extra. She said she'd try and leave off the solids until his next appt in 4 weeks but if we feel he needs it, just give him a bit of baby rice.
Proper rugby player that one!!! He's huge, but not fat which u am really scared of but he's only having what he's meant to.
No wonder we can't hold him for too long!!

wow klou he sounds such a poppett! i cant wait to have violet weighed again, i wont get it done till the end of the monthSad the doctors only do it once a month now. i dont know how much she weighs but mum cant hold her for long cause she makes her arms acheGrin

i was told by 2 pharmacys that them powders have a manufactoring faultShock which is why no one has them. she hasnt been too bad today, no hot cheecks so might hold out till they are in the shops

KLou111 · 10/11/2011 22:26

I read that they were being mixed to boost cocaine lol so they are not sold directly in shops Shock

Euey only true weighed once a month now, but can go in on a Wednesday at the drop in if we want him one earlier, but our docs is 10 miles away!!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 11/11/2011 11:52

lizandlulu · 11/11/2011 11:53

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 11/11/2011 16:31

well just spent the last hour at the hospitalSad the baby was really upset this afternoon, so much so that i gave her calpol for the first time, just screaming and i presumed it was her teeth although she kept swiping at her ear but all linked to didnt think aything to it, then she went to sleep for half an hour and when she woke and i changed her i noticed a purply rash on her leg. like purple pin pricks all down one leg so off i went to the hospital. i have no idea what i would be looking at and brtter to be safe than sorry.

so they looked at her and took some blood and sent it off to be tested. they said it could be nothing, it could be pupura (not sure if thats right) which is something to do with a platelet unbalance in her blood, or there is a very slim chance it could be leukemiaShock now i am not too worried as i doubt it is, he just had to let me know. he also said she is abit pale.

he is going to ring me with the results tonight.

she seems fine in herself now, we had the best ever night last night, from 7 to 4am and staright back to sleep till 7.45

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 11/11/2011 17:02

I have bonjela for poppy, but quite frankly, it's a load of shite. Doesn't make the slightest bit of difference at all! I'll have to find something else.

Simons agreed to a greyhound! So excited!

Had a long overdue eyetest today, and I need some new glasses. I was really naughty and picked some gorgeous D&G ones for £140. They're black with D&G in diamante on the sides. I usually go for pink or purple but black will go with anything. Can't wait to get them!

SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 11/11/2011 17:05

Blimey liz i bet you had a shock when he said that! I hope everything is ok x x

WombOnTheBroom · 11/11/2011 17:11

God, Liz, how worrying! Glad she seems better - I hope all the tests come back okay.

Klou - what a weight gain! Flo is 14lb7oz now - I weighed her yesterday - so Euan is already bigger and she started out at 10lb2oz! Her weight gain has stabilised though - she slipped a couple of centiles from birth. HV isn't worried though.

Hiya Melly - yeah the bonjela is a bit useless but it makes me feel like I'm doing something... Glasses sound fab. And do you have a greyhound in mind? I think that's what we'd go for after our spaniel.

Madkatz - how is Sophie doing - is the colic any better?

Waves at Iwish

KLou111 · 11/11/2011 17:12

Omg Liz hope she's ok, thinking of you all x x

Not had an eye test for years. Had my eyes lasered 4 years ago, best thing ever!! Should still go for a test though cos they can pick up all sorts.

Euans been sleeping really well again. Sleep at 6.45pm, woke him at 10 but not interested, woke at 4.45, had 7oz!! Sleep by 5.05am, then we woke him at 7.30!!! Might have been his jabs, but he was the same the night before so fingers crossed we'll get nearer to 7 :)

Just waiting for our curry :)
