KLou111 · 21/02/2012 12:47

Welcome back Liz looking forward to hearing aaaaaall about it :)
How is little violet doing?

Well Euan seems to be heaps better. He woke at 5 this morning for his dummy. I woke up about 10 mins before and went to the loo and the bloody bed made a huge creak and thought I bet Euan wakes up, sure enough he did. Dummy in, woke at 7.30 :) Have not missed getting up in the night at all lol! And obviously it's not nice him being ill :( His little nose is slightly running today, but not too much.

Iwish · 21/02/2012 14:30

Glad Euan is feeling better klou. Once isn't too bad with him being sick is it. Bet it feels like a killer since he usually sleeps through lol.
Does Euan watch baby tv? We have only got the free baby channels so Joshua can only watch Cbeebies which is a bit old for him.

Hope you had a nice time liz did lulu like it? And how is violet?

Can't believe Joshua slept through without a feed!! He did wake once but I just stroked his head and he went back to sleep.
My mum had just watched him for 40 mins while I went to an appt. he was tired so mum gave him to me and he was sparko after about 60 seconds lol.

KLou111 · 21/02/2012 14:53

Hopefully he'll keep doing it now iwish good on him!!

No, once not too bad bless him.
Euan used to watch cbeebies, tbh some of the programmes I was ALWAYS moaning to rob how they were hardly 'baby' but Euan used to sit and watch anyway. He watches it for an hour after his breaky, then for an hour before bed (he sometimes falls asleep in his chair though lol). I don't think it's bad as long as it's not all day every day :)
First thing Rob put on for him last night was a bloody star wars cartoon, typical!

OP posts:
Iwish · 21/02/2012 15:19

Haha star wars!! Poor Euan Grin. I think they learn from it until they are about 2 and then it becomes a habit. Joshua watches anything that's bright and colourful but only watches a few mins at a time. He used to sit and watch for like 15 - 20 mins but no chance now.

I hope he carries on but I think it will be a fluke. I felt good when I woke up this morning. :).

Urgh had a smear today, they are not nice!! Blush

lizandlulu · 21/02/2012 21:21

evening ladies, glad you are all well, and kids all fine now. klou sounds like you had abit of a rough time!iwish well done on sleeping all night!!! good lad!!

well eurodisney should be remaned, que-up-and-get-ripped-off-odisney! dont get me wron,g it is a good place, loads to see and do, but the quality of the food and selection is shocking. the food in the hotel was really bad, and fruit only at evening meals, you cant get fruit ANYWHERE else in the parks, and even in the shops in the parks, the only food you can get without going into a restaurant is curled up sandwiches, hotdogs, muffins, cookies, crap like that, hardly any variation. and costs a fortune for EVERYTHING!! i ended up stealing apples and oranges from the evening meal to take out with us next day. everyone was making sandwiches at breakfast to taek out even though there are signs up saying dont take food out.

althought lulu did enjoy herself, she liked looking round rather than going on rides as she is still scared of alot of htem.

and i paid extra for the tea with mickey and friends, but honest to god she spent half the time under the bloody table scared shitless! she had abit of a phobia of dressed up carachters, but i really though she would be ok with carachters she likes.

hten we got to london sunday evening and she spent the whole time clinging to me cause it was so busy that made her scared!! she is such a wimpGrin the natural history museam is good, but yes, busy!!

finally got home about 6 yesterday. god its good to be home and to see my baby girl. shes started to make different sounds, like a baba sound, shes trying to make words, bless herSmile shes alot better too, cough gone and chest alot clearer, whyever the docs didnt give me that medicine weeks ago i dont know!

now, i dont know if to be pissed off or not. i go from being pissed off to being ok. mil took the bby to her house on saturday and didnt come home till yesterday morning, she originally asked me if i minded her taking violet overnight saturday to sundat so she could go and see to her mum as she was away for such a long time (she has to go to her usually twice a day), so i couldt really say anything but yes, but fil had a cold so i said, try not to let her get to close to him (if thats possible!) but hse took her anyway on saturday, on one hand i am gratful to her for looking after the baby, but the whole point of her coming was to keep the baby in her own house and own routine, but she took her to theirs anyway.

what do you think?

KLou111 · 21/02/2012 22:04

Battery about to die so will respond properly tomorrow, but glad all ok

OP posts:
KLou111 · 21/02/2012 22:06

Bloody phone! Glad all ok Liz
Tbh I would be pissed off too! But suppose you can't really say anything

OP posts:
KLou111 · 22/02/2012 10:43

Bless lulu Liz being scared. Is it a phase or has she always been scared of certain things?
Really wrong about the food!! I bet you were not impressed it was all crap! Wtf are they promoting to kids, says it all about them parks doesn't it! Basically you need to take you're own.! Was it worth going though?
Do your in laws live quite a way or could she have just taken violet to see the family in the day?

Well, Euan woke at 2.45 for a bit, had to put his dummy in. Then he woke about 6 times from 5 til 8. We heard him coughing really bad over the monitor before we went to bed but he went back off again. Still got a runny nose, dosed up on calpol. He's happily jumping in his jumperoo though at the moment.

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 22/02/2012 19:06

shes always been scared of a few of things, totally unrational stuff. shes really timid and gets nervous easily.

yes if we went again, which we will but not for a couple of years i dont think, i would def take a rucksack or something with my own food in. i dont usually go for that sort of thing, i usually just get whatever i can where i can, but with there being such limited choice, it makes it really hard to find stuff for lulu.

it is worth going, the details and rides are good, the parades and costumes are brill, its just the facilities that let it down.

heres hoping for a better night for you klou has he gone to bed ok?

Iwish · 22/02/2012 19:40

Aww bless lulu being scared and hiding under the table liz. Poor little thing. Can't believe they don't have fruit or anything there tho!! It's for kids, you would have thought they would have something healthy for them.
Glad violet is ok too. Is she still in her routine?

klou I hope Euan sleeps a little better tonight. How is his cough?

Joshua was in bed at 7:30 last night. Up at 11:45 for milk then up talking/whinging at 2:30 and 4:15 but he settled himself then he wanted milk at 5:50 and into our bed at 7:50. Then he slept till 10:00.
He's not had any sleep today so is shattered. I put him to bed at 7:15.

KLou111 · 22/02/2012 19:55

Evenin' :)
Yeah, Euan went to bed ok, but Rob has already been up once! Fingers crossed he's better tonight. He still has a slight runny nose, but not too much. Still got a cough too. He was cuddled with me on the sofa since about 3.30, I know it sounds weird, but I felt like a 'proper' mum iyswim? It was lovely, he just sat there all cuddled up watching cartoons bless him :)

Hope Joshua good tonight iwish

Oh, need to think of another thread name, this one almost full :)

OP posts:
Iwish · 22/02/2012 20:37

Aww bet it was lovely to have him cuddled up to you on the sofa. Not nice that he's sick but lovely that mummy cuddles make him feel better.

I wish Joshua would cuddle with me. Cant even get him to sit on my knee for more than 60 seconds because he wants to be stood up, or playing on his jumperoo etc.

Maybe we should call the thread something like 'a new place for our gorgeous baby's to grow and play'

lizandlulu · 22/02/2012 21:01

been racking my brain for new thread name and got no idea, leave it to you klou you did such a good job with the first oneSmile

anyone heard owt from melly lately??

OBEM on now, shhhhhhhhhhGrin

Iwish · 22/02/2012 21:05

I think OBEM is going to be a sad one this week about babies born sleeping. :( I'm recording it and might watch it tomorrow if I feel brave.

Not heard from melly madkatz or gruff for ages.

MadKatz · 23/02/2012 12:11

Hi!!

Sorry not been on for bloomin' ages, so much going on here. DH's mum and nan been in and out of hospital so I've been running round taxiing and caring, as well as looking after Sophie and all the normal things.

I will find time to read up all that's been happening.

Sophie doing really well. Started purees in earnest 2 weeks ago and she's loving it. Also managed to get her to take expressed milk from a doidy cup yesterday - she doesn't want to know bottles at all - and I am ecstatic about this as it means DH can do more.

Just not sure on quantities and overfeeding? Anyone any suggestions?

Hope you're all ok?

x

Iwish · 23/02/2012 16:38

Welcome back madkatz! Hope DHs mum n nan are ok.

Well done Sophie drinking from the cup! I'm not sure about food as not started weaning Joshua yet but I would have thought if she was full she would keep her mouth closed?

Has her colic gone? And how is she sleeping now?

We have been to the Trafford centre today. It's mums birthday so we went for a nosey around and for a bit of lunch. Between us we came back with a pair of tights and a bra. Hmm we got there at 11:30 and left at 3:15.
Last night Joshua went to bed at 7:15, up at 9:40 and 4:00 for a feed then up for the day at 8:00. He's not had a sleep all day either!! Think I'm going to have a very grumpy baby by 6pm....

KLou111 · 23/02/2012 17:49

Hiya madkatz glad Sophie is ok and the weaning going well. Sorry to hear about your mil and nan, hope all better soon.
Re food, I recommended a book to iwish as it was the only book I found had quantities, its the pink Gina Ford little book of weaning. It also gives lord of different recipes depending on age too :)

Euan will clamp his mouth shut, moan or turn his head if he doesn't want food, which is a rare occasion!

Well been out shopping today in our next town, wanted a few clothes, but didn't see anything I liked. Got Euan a sleeping bag, a 12-18 month one cos it was slightly longer than 6-12 so will hopefully last him longer lol. Anyway, they had blue, yellow, white, and pink obviously. I said to Rob what colour and he said yellow it white cos can use for the next one too Grin so got white.

What do you mean babies born sleeping iwish? Literally or still born? Don't think could watch if the latter :(

Going to sort new thread out........
