Well, off in a bit, very excited :)

Monitor sounds a bargain melly men are so tight sometimes lol!!

Had a but of a shit nights sleep compared to normal. Put Euan to bed at 7.30 and decided not to wake him at 11 and feed him like we normally do, which gets him through to around 6.
Anyway he woke at 2, Rob was doing this feed cos he normally does the 11 one. By the time the bottle was warm, the poor little man was screaming the house down!! Whereas normally its ready for when we wake him.
Then he woke at 5 for a full feed again, but back in bed within 30 mins, then up at 8.30 talking to himself lol.
I know it probably doesn't sound too bad as he was only up the same amount of times, but twice in the night is a killer!!!!

KLou111 · 20/10/2011 11:08

Oh, and it meant he did his long stretch of sleep first rather than overnight. Rob just said how good last night was, with him only waking once, he didn't hear the 5am one!!!

are yuo going to stick to the usual plan then? its so bloody hard to know what to do and how to go about things for the best isnt it!

viloet went to bed at 8, then woke at 2, but then didnt wake at her usual half 4 and slept till half 6! it ment an earlier start to the day for me as although she went back to lseep till i woke her at 8, i had to get up! she is gettign better tho.

melly that sounds like a good plan! i HAD to have a monitor, but we dont really need it when we are actually in bed, as she is so close to our room, but they are so good for when you are up in the evening after they have gone to bed.
klou have fun swimming!

MadKatz · 20/10/2011 14:53

I've just put some pics up of Sophie Grin

She's doing really well, fed her at 9pm last night, then she didn't wake until1am and again at about 6.30. Now we've got past the S&D issue she's such a chilled out baby.

I still can't get comfortable sleeping in bed, no matter how many cushions I use, I just can't get used to sleeping on my back with my stitches. So on the sofa at the mo as its the most comfortable place. Which means DH is getting good nights sleep without Sophie waking him at the mo.

He's so looking forward to the weekend with her, he's been at work all week and has missed her being home Smile

KLou111 · 20/10/2011 16:52

Omg madkatz she is sooooo beautiful x

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 20/10/2011 19:21

madkatz shes gorgeousSmile i am glad she is doing well. re the stitches, when you stand, try to stand straight rather than hunched. i was told this by another mumsnetter and it does help in the long run. i used to try and 'hold' the wound when i walked, i felt very vulnarable in that area and abit of support really helped. have you looked into them ceasarian belts? theraline or something they are called, i think they help with the healing, i only found them AFTER tho!

klou how did swimming go?

lizandlulu · 20/10/2011 19:23

this is what i mean, i wish i had had one
mumsnet

SpookhettiTwirlerAndProud · 20/10/2011 19:42

madkatz she is absolutely beautiful! I bet you're dead chuffed she's finally here!

How did swimming go klou?

Have fun at the zoo tomorrow liz! We're gonna take poppy to that wildlife park in doncaster next year, it's meant to be really good! They've got loads of tigers too.

MadKatz · 20/10/2011 21:10

Yes very glad she's finally here. Can't believe she is a week old tomorrow, where has the week gone?

Liz standing and walking is fine, its lying down which is the problem. I can only lie on my back with my stiches at the mo, which is agony for my back as our mattress is quite hard. It will be easier when I get to the stage of being able to lie comfortably on my side again like I'm used to.

lizandlulu · 20/10/2011 22:06

i couldnt lie on my back either, it felt like it was going to split open if i tried! is it still covered up?

ohh melly you are a genius!! itotally forgot about that place! i havent been either and it is prob closer than twycross. my dad mentioned about it weeks ago, is it a new place? i hadnt heard about it before he said about it.

SpookhettiTwirlerAndProud · 21/10/2011 08:05

It's been there a couple of years I think. Yorkshire wildlife park it is. My sister has taken her kids before and she said it was way better than chester zoo when they went there!

madkatz the time really does fly. Poppy is 18 weeks old today!

MadKatz · 21/10/2011 09:38

Gosh Melly can't believe she's 18 weeks, time goes so fast!!

I felt the same Liz. Woke on my side this morning so must have turned in my sleep and not in too much pain, so going to give our bed a go tonight and see what happens

Well fed Sophie at 9.30pm last night, then at midnight - 1.30 and then she didn't wake again until 5.40 this morning! Grin

Iwish · 21/10/2011 10:48

Hi lovelies!

How are we all?

madkatz can't believe your little miss is a week old tomorrow, that has gone v quick! Hope you are enjoying being a mummy and hope your scar gets better soon.

Wow 18 weeks melly! I remember you posting your BA! I want to go to a wildlife park! I wonder how far it is from me.... Chester zoo is about a hour away from me.

Have fun at the zoo liz!

How did Euan sleep last night klou?

My birthday today and mum is taking me out for lunch. Joshua was a good boy last night and fed at 9:30 then didn't feed till 2:30am!! AND I had to wake him up for it!! My boobs were v full and he had gone 5 hours. Then he was up at 5:45 and 9:00. Nice birthday prezzie for me lol.

How much did your little ones sleep at 4 weeks old? For the past few days he has been asleep practically all day. Yesterday daytime he probably only had about 3 hours awake and still had all that sleep at night. Should I be worried?

MadKatz · 21/10/2011 11:28

Happy Birthday Iwish x

Sophie currently wide awake sat in her bouncer chair for the first time. Not sure she knows what to make of it!

KLou111 · 21/10/2011 11:55

Don't be worried iwish all they do us sleep, then literally overnight Euan started being more alert and awake during the day. If you are worried still though, talk to the hv :)

Well, geek

SpookhettiTwirlerAndProud · 21/10/2011 12:10

Happy birthday iwish! Has joshua got you anything? What a good boy he was last night for you! I can't remember much that far back lol! Think poppy was awake for an hour or so then slept for a few more hours. So she slept a lot! Have a lovely lunch with your mum x x x

klou how was swimming? Did he enjoy it?

Wow madkatz sounds like sophie is being a good girl! Bet she looks a right cutie in her bouncy chair!

MadKatz · 21/10/2011 12:53

Have uploaded 2 more pics from this morning Grin

KLou111 · 21/10/2011 13:31

Happy birthday Iwish!!! Hope you have a fab day, nice one on the sleep Wink
I think Euan slept and slept and slept for a few weeks, then all of a sudden literally overnight he became really alert and more awake in the day time. He seemed to then know it was wakey time when it was light and sleepy time when it was dark :)
If you are concerned though, I'd phone the HV.

Madkatz Sophie looks so teeny tiny! She's a proper little cutie. Has it hit you yet that you're a mum. Know it sounds daft, but I think it took us 3 weeks before we clicked we had a baby and he wasn't going anywhere lol!

Swimming was FAB!!! Pool was a bit cooler than I thought it would have been, but Euan didn't seem fazed. It was nice to meet some other mummies too. Rob came in with us, then when it was all mums, he went and watched us from the Sauna lol. Was only half hour, but will go every week at least once. Euan looked sooo cute in his little suit :)
All piccies of him here

Slept better last night thank god. Got him in bed 30 mins earlier at 7:30. Been bathing him at 6:45ish, straight on feeding afterwards, then bed. Woke him at 10:15pm, fed at 10:30, slept til 4:45am, fed, bed at 5, then up at 8ish.
He's asleep in his chair now, so he seems to be doing the 'routine' himself except when we wake him at 10:15pm.
Spoke to a lady at swimming with a 7 month old, and she said she has a baby hammock, and ever since she put her baby in it (3 months), he slept through the night!! VERY tempting!!

Melly can't believe Poppy 18 weeks already!! Euan 10 weeks tomorrow, it flies doesn't it!!
I remember you had an issue with Poppy not pooing a while back. Euan hasn't pooed since last Thursday, haven't rang the HV or said anything to my mum yet, but I may do this afternoon as I think it's a bit odd. A few days yes, but over a week???

Liz enjoy the zoo. Can't wait til we can start taking Euey places like that (not wishing his life away lol!)

Where's Gruff??

Looking at the mo at driving to Spain and staying a month in February/March. Need to get Bella a passport, but will leave Bali. Will have a word with the vet about it when we go tomorrow or Monday to get her stitches out.

KLou111 · 21/10/2011 14:13

Just spoke to mum, HV not there til Tuesday. She said put some vaseline on my finger, lift his legs up and massage his bum hole as it may stimulate the 'flow'. She did say beware though as it could come fast!!!
Think of me at 3pm lol!

OP posts:
SpookhettiTwirlerAndProud · 21/10/2011 14:39

I asked my sister about the pooing, she said it was totally normal and her DD once went 14 days! Spoke to a woman on here too, and she told me about her friends son who went 21 days without pooing [hshock] she described it as a poonami when he did eventually go.

madkatz you must be so proud, she really is gorgeous! Love that bouncy chair too.

Good luck klou! :o

KLou111 · 21/10/2011 15:08

iwish happy birthday!!!! Thanks for you x x x

ladies i am having a slight melt down! i got this skate pram specially for our hol, and 3 different types of sun shade as they were all cheap or essential! turns out NONE on them fit it in pram mode!!!! HELPPPPPPP the frame is too chunky to use a parasol and the proper skate sun shade wont fit it as a pram. bloody thing wants chucking in the scrap!
so am going to use the new luna i thinkSad really didnt want to take that on a plane, but dont really have any optionSad i can use the ray shade with that

have done most of our packing and sorting today, lulu woke up and didnt want to go to the zoo! must be the only child in the country whos offered a day at the zoo and she would rather stay at homeHmm

KLou111 · 21/10/2011 19:16
