Good on you liz! Let it all hang out is what I say! (literally in our case Wink :o )

KLou111 · 22/10/2011 12:17

Lol at lifting your bellies. Surely not!! But the little bundles of gorgeousness are worth it :)

Feel a right bitch this morning. Robs friend goes to Italy this time every year for a week to pick olives at his uncles place. Rob hadn't mentioned about going this year, and they are going next Thursday. I said yesterday for him to go and will get my parents to come here for a few days in between. Anyway i woke in a right strop today and told him to bloody go as I might aswell be on my own as he doesn't do anything anyway (he does a bloody lot!!) Anyway it got to him that much his eyes welled up. God I felt such a bloody cow. He said he didn't know what I wanted him to do and he does try, which he does bless him. I now feel so shit even though we're all made up etc. He said he didn't even want to go to Italy and leave us esp with Euan being so young, and its my birthday while he's away, and it was me that suggested he go! God I'm such a twat!

KLou111 · 22/10/2011 14:11

He is lovely, he's the best that's why I felt so shit (sob). Think was a bit tired aswell.

Tried the koo di cover on the pushchair after you saying yours doesn't fit. Thank god its ok.
Is that benidorm thing on the news near where you're going?

Iwish · 22/10/2011 18:40

Awww klou I'm sure he understands that it's because your tired and hormones etc.

Lol at lifting your bellies liz and melly!! My belly is flabby and hangs a little over my knickers - nice haha. [hgrin]

madkatz your piccies are gorgeous you have just put up!

I have just put 5 pics up of Joshua. He's getting so big now. We are currently just sat on on sofa having a cuddle wrapped in a fluffy blanket. Love cuddling my boy [hsmile]

Oh and nick was in the bad books yesterday. He didn't get me a card from Joshua for my birthday [hsad] I wanted my very first mummy card.

KLou111 · 22/10/2011 21:03

Awwww so cute iwish :)
He's defo getting big!! Naughty nick!

I really don't like this time of night when it comes to Euan. Miss him so much when he goes to bed. As relaxing as it is, and we actually got through our first meal in weeks without him making a sound lol! Nice to spend time with hubby though just us as the daytime is so hectic!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 22/10/2011 21:42

klou it is in the area, but a few miles away i think, along the coast abit more. i wont be worrying about it too much.

good about the cover. i have decided to def use the luna so i can use the ray shade, plus the snooze shade for when she wants to sleep. i am abit worried about upsetting her routine, it cant be helped but i know we are not going to be putting her to bed at the usual time and i really dont want to undo all the good work i have done.

me and lulu have been to so a sleepwalk for charity, only a mile round the showground in our jamas, it was dead nice, lovely atmosphere. chris has gone racing so i left the baby with mum, she came here so she could put her to bed. she hadnt been to sleep since about 12.30, so she was tired when i went out at 6. mum said she had 10 mins kip at 6.30 and she tried to put her to bed at 7.30 but she wouldnt go to sleep. so she was still awake in the living room at 8.10 when i got homeHmm mum was trying to give her a bottle (in the living room whereas i usually do it in her room for the quiet) which was over an hour old. she likes a fresh bottle, so they went home and i gave her a nice fresh one and she went straight down.

iwish men just dont think about things like that do they, i have to really drop massive hints if i want anything like that. i didnt even get a mothers day card this year cause he didnt think to get one at allHmm

Iwish · 23/10/2011 11:36

He's bad isn't he! He did feel very guilty tho.

Aww can't believe you didn't get a mothers day card liz. Bet he was in the bad books! Did violet have a good sleep since she was tired?

klou bet you do miss him with him being upstairs. I missed Joshua when nick took him to his mums for a hour!
You know when you go out with Euan, shopping etc. If he needs feeding do you breastfeed or give him a bottle?

Joshua was quite good again last night. Fed at 10:00, 2:15, 5:30 and 9:30. He seems to get up at roughly the same times for the last few days, maybe he's setting himself a routine...

KLou111 · 23/10/2011 12:10

That's great Iwish :)
Re BF, I take a bottle, but I do BF when I can. If we go to a pub, we sit in a corner with me facing the back of the pub so no-one can see, but I did feed him on a bench the other day facing a wall lol! Or I do it in the back of the car cos it's blacked out. I did have a moan the other day to Rob that there's nowhere to go, but mothercare has a feeding section so I could always go there :)

OP posts:
Iwish · 23/10/2011 12:47

it's awful that theres nowhere to feed! I went shopping with mum on Friday and ended up sitting in a corner in a cafe be ause there was nowhere to go.

Ok probably too much info for you but Ive just erm, got rid of the bushes that appeared when pregnant and my fanjo has big purple stretchmarks on it!! [hshock] [hshock]
And I've just had a shower. Got in and my boobs were empty, got out and they are full and rock hard!!

WombOnTheBroom · 23/10/2011 15:17

hiya. sorry, have been away. CONGRATULATIONS Madkatz!!!! Sophie is gorgeous! A week already! I hope your stitches are starting to feel better and you can sleep more easily.

typing one-handed as dd is feeding and loves to sit up - wont go into her bouncer chair unless sleepy...

Glad you are all okay, apart from stretch marks, iwish. that'll teach you to do personal grooming. Wink I feel like a right hippo at the moment. My belly is ridiculous. On a healthy eating kick from now. DH is lovely about it but am feeling pretty low. Might see about going swimming as DD is more settled at nights and think I could sneak out once she's down.

dd is great - 3 months old today. sleeps v well and started going down at night at about 8pm. she wakes about 6-7am for a feed and then goes back to sleep for a couple of hours. She's been gaining weight a bit slowly - 4-5oz per week - but hv is okay with it. am trying to get her to take an extra feed or two though. big news is that she's getting a tooth, one of the back ones. the first bit has already cut. she's been crabby in occasional fits during the day but fine at night. poor mite. We've all had colds too - so snotty and grotty all round! DS is being a real pain with his potty training - just keeps doing poos in his pants/at night. At the end of my tether with it. He's pretty good with wees except for earlier this afternoon when he did the double in the sitting room. AAARRGGHHH! Liz, tell me it gets better!

WombOnTheBroom · 23/10/2011 15:21

p.s. meant to say I'd never worry about feeding anywhere - fed DD on a boat recently, in several pubs (might explain the belly) and cafes and even a cathedral. I've never had any nasty looks/comments - only nice ones. I reckon most people never even notice, and those that do would far rather you give your baby a feed than let him/her scream the place down. I did chicken out of feeding DS in a rugby club once - but to be honest I don't think they'd have given a toss.

lizandlulu · 23/10/2011 16:18

wombonthebroom it DOES get better. how old is your ds? i left lulu quite late till i did her, i think she was about 2 and 3/4 ish. but once i started it, it wasnt too bad. i dont think she had many wet pants, i kept taking her to the toilet ALOT, i dont remember having very many wet nights, maybe 2. but the older they are, the easier it is.

violet was in bed last night about 8.40 i think, then woke at 3,20 and didnt then wake till about 7.45!!!!!!! wow i couldnt believe it! even then she wasnt screaming for a bottle like i thought she would be.

MadKatz · 23/10/2011 16:39

I BF'd Sophie in a pub on Friday night and in a very busy Macdonalds yesterday lunch time! Was very apprehensive before we started going out earlier in the week but have definitely got my confidence now with DH's encouragement and no bad comments while we were out Grin

KLou111 · 23/10/2011 16:45

Welcome back womb!!
So want to know your sleeping through secret. Euans done it 3 times but he mostly always wakes around 2-3am if I just leave him after he goes to bed around 7-7.30.
Can't believe a tooth already!!!

Yey on the sleeping Liz fab stuff!!!

Might give him his ebm bottle that he gets at 10.30ish at 7, then I know he's had a big feed, then I feed him when he naturally wakes. Also my milk seems low around 7 so will give it a chance to fill up lol. Just concerned though that he'll wake again after 2 cos he's had his deep sleep first.

lizandlulu · 23/10/2011 18:58

just re read your post womb a tooth!! already!! i only had the conversation yest with a friend that some babies get teeth dead early. and wow she sleeps well!

and vilet is snotty and grunty so i bought her a calpol vapouriser thing that plugs into the wall and gives off a scent, like karvol capsules for the 21st centuryGrin

KLou111 · 23/10/2011 19:09

Feeling a bit helpless. Rob fed Euan half his bottle at 6, bathed him, and now giving him the other half in his room.
No dinner to cook as we went out at lunchtime, so I'm twiddling my thumbs a bit. Fingers crossed for a good nights sleep as got friends here tomorrow night so if it works, it would be fab!!!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 23/10/2011 20:14

what you need is a nice hot choc with whipped cream and marshmellows while you watch x factor in peaceGrin (can you see why i still have to tuck my belly in my trousers??)Grin

melly we went to that yrokshire wildlife park, went especially to see the tigers and lulu was terrified of them! and the lions! i really wanted to see the lions cause i was interested in them cause they were rescued from a smaller crappy zoo, so just wanted to see them all, but she wouldnt even go within 50 foot of them! so got a brief glimpse and thats it! she was a total wimp

KLou111 · 24/10/2011 08:28

As predicted, Euan asleep at 7.20, up at 12.30, 3 and 7.30. Wouldn't have minded if it was only the 3 or 12.30 lol, but that was a very short stretch in between!!! Then he wouldn't settle for over an hour, I got up twice to feed, and settle him, then Rob got up twice, all from 3-4.20!!! Got to stick with his feed at 10.30/11. Feeling dead this morning.

OP posts:
WombOnTheBroom · 24/10/2011 14:19

Poor you Klou - definitely sounds like he needs his dream feed. I don't have a secret with DD, I'm afraid. She just did it all on her own. Some days she doesn't even wake up until 8:30. I think she's just lazy. I know what you mean about not knowing what to do with yourself when they're in bed/not there. It was really weird when DS started going to preschool. DD mostly slept and I wandered round the house like a little lost soul. God knows what I'll be like when they're off to uni!!!

lizandlulu · 24/10/2011 15:41

klou i hope its just a one off, you dont want many nights like that do you! mine was in bed for 8 and didnt wake up till 4 which i think is her best ever, she went straight back to sleep, but woke at about 6.30. she didnt make alot of niose or crying so i didnt go to her, but she was sucking her hands, and chuntering to herslef which ment i was awake tooSad i gave her a bottle at 7.30 and she nodded back off till about 8.40. shame lulu was up from 7.40 thoSad

lizandlulu · 24/10/2011 19:57

i have had an email off the apartemnt owner tonight saying there is someone staying in the apartment for another week so we cant stay thereHmm and we are going to have to change to a different apaptmentHmm Hmm Hmm the apartment looks nice, we saw it before we booked the other place, but it has no pool as its right on the beach front. i am abit pissed off to be honest and am now even more worried. the transfer we booked is ging to drop us off 0.7 miles away at the old place and cant be changed and i have had to email the place about the travel cot, see if they will change the delivery addfress.

WHY IS NOTHING EVER SIMPLE!!!

Iwish · 25/10/2011 01:36

Omg why won't my child go to sleep!!?? All he's done since 7:30 is scream or feed. I'm nakered and sat here is tears like some hormonal wierdo. :(

SpookhettiTwirlerAndProud · 25/10/2011 05:55

Oh iwish you poor thing :( listen, this is just a thought, but does he appear to be in pain at all, pulling his knees upto his belly? My sisters kids both did this and she discovered that they were dairy intolerant! Any cheese, milk etc passed through her into the kids and gave them terrible stomach ache. She had to stop eating dairy until she stopped feeding them! Apparantly this is quite common as babies digestive systems aren't developed enough to process dairy. Worth talking to your HV or GP about it maybe? I hope he's sleeping now and you're managing to get some yourself x x x
