Good luck awen this does sound like it. You will be great

cass how annoying, hope something does the trick for you. I felt acupuncture really helped

BB3 · 22/10/2011 08:41

bumps that is a hilariously perfect description of soft play hell!!

cass that does sound a bit of a slight overreaction to me and if you're not comfortable with their plan you can ask for alternatives. You can say no to induction and ask to go in for daily monitoring until labour if needed.

Edward fingers crossed for you xx

scones ds woke up at 7.45 today and yesterday I woke him up at 8! Could it be the cold weather? Who cares I say - sure it'll be over soon enough Grin

Update from me - I woke in the night with my stomach aching - was up for 2 hours, probably TMI but I had a funny tummy and was sick quite a bit. I am really hoping that this is my body getting ready for birth - was tempted to have a shower but went back to bed so much needed sleep! No other signs since then, but still hopeful it might be the real start of things.....

Go Awen!! - At last!!

Cass, Edward, Overreaction - Not long to go now!! :)

CheshireDing · 22/10/2011 10:02

Good luck Awen it's about time after those niggles you have been having :)

That's horrid Cass, even more ridiculous as it's not your first baby so you know you can do it. I felt like that when my waters had broken and straight away they were talking of induction and me staying in hospital and we had planned a home birth too. It's scared me that they suddenly seem to take over (the Dr's this is not the mw's) when you and baby are still okay anyway. Keep breathing, the hypno does really work doesn't it :)

Maybe a baby for you too Edward?

I have put some pics on of Poppy in her dungarees, which I still maintain she is too small for - although it could also be that because I got upset when she didn't fit in to 2 of her babygrows already :( Ridiculous I know, I should be happy she is growing.

pinkpainter · 22/10/2011 10:16

Cheshire - The dungarees look gorgeous!! :)

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 22/10/2011 10:25

Go Awen go .

cass that is naff about the induction. I am resisting an induction too if you want to hold hands. They can't make you have one but I understand about the pressure - even if you know that the information they have given you isn't altogether the full picture, shall we say. Guilt - that's how they get to you!

Cheshire those dungaress are lovely! But I love dungarees so I'm biased They are a bit big for her - but that is cute!

bumps how right you are about softplay Grin. This was only the second time I've been. Next time will be with moral support!

pinkpainter · 22/10/2011 10:48

Just had a bit of what looks like the show..... :)

pinkpainter · 22/10/2011 10:48

Oh - and 40+2

MrsP81 · 22/10/2011 11:19

Sending lots of labour vibes to everyone still on the bus, sounds like some of you are heading in the right direction. Smile

I have been in a newborn haze for the last few days but feel slightly more with it today. I'm sure it won't last though! Am hoping to do an update with my birth story later on.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/10/2011 12:12

Update - having 3 ctx every 10 minutes.w (newly qualified with little hands) had trouble getting to cervix as baby come down further as cervix tilted (same prev preg). Was given choice of staying in on monitor for goodness knows how long, go to costa for lunch and have walk then go back in or come home. I came home because this is where I'm happiest. Very strong ctx in car on way back and still going. Will go back if I can manage pain at home or they get really really close together. In tomoz for 8am anyway. Only fear I have is no sleep and being too tired to deliver. These are definately OMGoodneaa pulling me to my knees and stopping me in tracks (making silly breathing as groaning noises), ones. Phew had to stop typing for ctx a few times there.

I refuse to feel stressed or frustrated and most definately will not allow anyone o make me feel that way either Grin

Have to say when I actually got on labour ward I was shaking and anxious. Considering my profession is a nurse I really hate being in hospital.

One concern was baby heart rate between 150 and 160. The within normal limits is the upper limit. But baby was coping with my ctx phew x

Jane4321 · 22/10/2011 13:46

Awen All the best! Hope you manage to get some rest at home, despite the painful contractions.
Good for you for not allowing yourself to be stressed - :)

Pink Think I just had show too - not 100 % sure tho...

MrsP Thank you... Look forward to hearing your birth story!

I'm feeling really tearful today...Got very panicky about money last night, just wondering how we're going to manage financially :( It's really got me down again today, desperately trying to lift myself out of the slump as I know I'm unlikely to go into labour when I'm so stressed. DH is being lovely, but is clearly worried - he didn't want to go to work this afternoon and leave me but he'll get extra money for working a sat evening so I said he had to go.. Now I really want him here :(

Sorry for moaning...

Oh - does anyone know how much statuatory mat pay is after tax+NI?

40+4

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 22/10/2011 13:47

Good luck Awen. Sending positive vibes to you.

Cheshire can't see dungarees from phone Angry but do love them I'm sure she looks lush.
Sending positive labour vibes for you all still waiting xx

MamaMaiasaura · 22/10/2011 17:19

Any tips for coping with ctx I've had paracetamol and warm bath. They are stronger and very intense tho not increae in frequency. Getting to the etonox point but trying to stay home as long as I canq

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 22/10/2011 18:13

Well I think it's another false one for me! I think this baby's waiting for induction on Friday, ctx still coming v v occasionally I think probably had less than 10 all day! Getting me really down as had had DS by this point last time, so really thought today would be the day!

Hope ur ok awen best of luck with labour, if ur finding it hard just go back to hospital for the G&A. It's good fun ;-) am v jealous of u ATM though!

Congratulations on ur baby girl mimatchin

sassy34264 · 22/10/2011 18:15

hi everyone. just home from the hospital. quick post for the minute.

baby girl
19/10/11 -5.40pm

9lb 15oz
emergency c sec.

we have decided to call her Eva. no middle name yet.
we are both well. she is in my arms now.
will post more soon. x

BB3 · 22/10/2011 18:17

Poppy is adorable xx

Awen - With Ds, dh firmly rubbing my back helped x but if it's getting hard, i'd go back in. Good luck xx

pebble dh away for another week, my parents are away for two weeks too so just me, my sister (who is our nanny) and the kids. I was a bit anxious at first but while nights (alone) are hard the days are surprisingly calm and productive - today we walked round to tesco, sorted out ds and girls clothes and old toys for charity, (girls are out of tiny baby and into newborn - only took a month!!!) sorted out all the kitchen cupboards (we had new kitchen put in earlier in the year and kind of 'found' homes for things) and managed a basic clean up downstairs. I love organising and throwing things away, it kind of cleanses my head a bit - I've got a whole list of admin things I have to get done from a list I was supposed to finish before the girls arrived that I'm avoiding doing so instead i'm finding things to 'sort'. Grin
