Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Trudyla · 02/11/2011 15:44

Congratulations supergirl. Well done. I'm glad you had a nice birth and wow at that weight Grin

Really not many of us left now! I think I'm gonna be the one switching off the lights on this thread Smile

dannid · 02/11/2011 21:56

Ah choc I'm glad it's not just my DH that thinks that. Although if baby doesn't arrive in the next couple of days I may not give him much choice in the matter Wink

Had stretch and sweep this arvo...all looking good, am currently 3cms dilated Grin and contracting (just not regularly!Sad). Said my waters are bulging and she couldn't believe that they didnt go during the sweep....wouldn't even give me an induction date as she was convinced that LO will be here in the next couple of days, yay! Got to ring on mon to book in for induction on thurs if not tho. Feel a bit more positive knowing that things are moving along. Grin

LittlePebble · 02/11/2011 23:00

Congratulations Supergirl x

chocolatehobnobs · 02/11/2011 23:29

Wow bumps it's lovely to see how happy you are even with 3rd degree tear.

Congratulations supergirl on your halloween baby.

Go dannid that sounds really encouraging. Bet LO arrives tomorrow.

Trudyla, I'm convinced wriggler I'd coming on saturday so have organised nice things for the next few days. And the child born on Saturday is loving and giving :)

Mrs H hope there is good news with the insurers.

SconesForTea · 03/11/2011 02:06

Congratulations supergirl on the birth of Elliot! Wow to 9lb 3oz!

MrsH best of luck with the claim. Surely that is exactly the kind of thing you insure an old building for Hmm or what on earth is insurance for. I really hope you've got your claim through.

Good luck dannid I hope it kicks off for you.

Well I'm still here and still awake in the middle of the night.... I am 40+12 today. A mw came round yesterday morning to give me another sweep, but didn't carry out much of a sweep as she said my waters were bulging (snap dannid!) and she didn't want to break them (I was saying please do! Please do!!). She was convinced I'd go into labour yesterday. Nope, I am still here.

I asked my mum to come to stay anyway to help me out as I'm going stir crazy and am so tired looking after DD, she arrived lunchtime and has really helped my mood.

Last night I ate a basil plant (I did this the night before I went into labour with DD... thought worth a try), loads of liquorice, had a glass of red wine (I read online it would help Grin) and bounced on my ball. ALL FOR NOTHING. Too tired to even attempt sex Sad

Thanks for your words of encouragement Bumps I so want this baby now.

I am booked in for another sweep Friday when I'll be 40+13. If that doesn't work I'll give up on my homebirth and book myself in for an induction on Saturday when I'll be 2 weeks over. I can't really let Mum go home on Sunday without having a baby. FFS.

Sending good-luck-come-on-baby-vibes to both Dannid and Scones Grin

Congratulations Super on your baby boy

BabCNesbitt · 03/11/2011 12:02

Hey ladies, just a quick update as posting from my crappy phone - Elizabeth Frances born 4.07 on Hallowe'en, weighing 7lb 11oz - not the planned home birth (ventouse and episiotomy instead!) but she is so ace that it was worth it!

chocolatehobnobs · 03/11/2011 12:32

Scones - stay positive I am rooting for you. I'm sure you will have the baby today or tomorrow and have your lovely home birth. Enjoy the time with your mum. Sending good vibes:)

dannid · 03/11/2011 14:37

Congrats babs!!! Grin

Ok so contractions have been 10 mins apart since the early hours of this morning. Lasting approx. 1 min. They are definitely getting stronger but don't seem to be getting any closer together. Have been trying to rest up as much as possible this morning and make the most of it while MIL has DS and am now spending some time bouncing on my yoga ball in the hope that I can rupture my waters and get things to speed up. Anyone have any other suggestions what I can do to help things progress?!

CheshireDing · 03/11/2011 22:56

Congratulations Babs

I guess as there are no updates from Dannid she might be busy having a baby, hopefully!

LittlePebble · 04/11/2011 07:53

Congratulations Babs! Come on Dannid, Scones and Mrs H!!

BB3 · 04/11/2011 08:05

Nope I'm still here Sad This baby seems even more stubborn than my DS was. Contractions a bit erratic..some really strong, some barely there...still pretty much 10 mins apart. DH has stayed home today to help out with DS so am thinking we might attempt a quick walk to the ducks later see if it helps?!

dannid · 04/11/2011 08:40

Forgot to say 40 + 6

CheshireDing · 04/11/2011 09:15

Oh Dannid I really thought you were having a baby last night. Enjoy the ducks though :)

dannid · 04/11/2011 09:20

I KNOW ME TOO!!!! Angry oh well I am now aiming for tomorrow which I think would be a fab birthday with all the fireworks! Grinxxx

sassy34264 · 04/11/2011 09:30

Really feeling for everyone still waiting....hope things get moving really soon!!

Trudyla · 04/11/2011 12:09

Congratulations BabCNesbitt. I'm so pleased for you.

Good labour luck for the rest of us Grin

40+5

MrsHende · 04/11/2011 14:38

Congratulations Bab!

Fingers crossed the fireworks this weekend will get the rest of us started - thank you for the pom pom waving!

The plasterers have started on the flat, they think it will take 5-8 days...the race is on, baby vs plasterers vs induction booked for Thursday!! Come on baby!

sassy34264 · 04/11/2011 21:24

trudy isobel is fine about eva. she's not really jealous, just a bit facinated and wants to touch her etc. jacob on the other hand is a different story. he has slapped her a few times and even sat on her when she was in the car seat. ive tried to not keep her away from them, like she's some special thing that only i can touch, but its getting to the point where i may have to. im hoping the novelty will wear off soon. he has give her kisses too though- but mostly its a poke in the face or a slap on the head!
he kept giving dp kisses the other day but wouldnt give me any. dp was holding eva, so i said give eva to me and then i asked him for a kiss and i got one. he's a little bugger character.

chocolatehobnobs · 05/11/2011 05:06

Well done Babs what a great birthday. Lovely that we've got halloween babies.
Scones - I was thinking of you yesterday - really hope the sweep did something.
Dannid -hoping those contractions are a bit more regular - might be that when you really get going it could be nice and short. :)

Mrs H - how are you feeling about the prospect of induction on thursday? Hoping you will be having the baby before then and in hospital whilst the ceiling is being finished.

Trudyla -any sign of a baby for you?

I went to see the midwife yesterday (friday). She did a ve which was quite uncomfortable - said cervix was completely closed no chance of doing a sweep and not to bother repeating until Monday. Asked me if I had had any contractions (none) and then said I would be very very unlikely to go into labour over the weekend. She's a nice person that I trust . She has booked me for induction at 8am next friday 11th.
I know that compared to scones there is still time but I'm getting really worried now that this is going to be a big baby, difficult labour and maybe induction or EMCS .
DH is still being quite funny about any kind of intimacy with me pregnant. Reluctant even to share a bed - I hit the roof when he started dawdling downstairs, waffling about scottish politics last night. Refused to let me sleep next to the door in spare room (his side of the bed). wanted to sleep under the mattress topper in our bed with it pushed in the middle like a barrier to save his back! I just feel that with no oxytocin or hope of it I am heading towards induction and a syntocin drip! Sorry to rant.

Good luck to anyone else still hanging on

chocolatehobnobs · 05/11/2011 05:07

And 40+6 today)

dannid · 05/11/2011 10:31

Ah choc I feel ur pain. 41 weeks today and still no further progress Sad

We had a trip to hospital assessment clinic last night as thought waters had gone but turns out it wasn't Blush Have had a lot of show come away tho (sorry if tmi). They monitored me and the baby for a while...all fine...and then after 4 hrs of waiting around sent us home!

The midwife at the hospital did an internal tho and said pretty much the complete opposite of what the midwife on Wednesday said...she said I was only 1cm dilated (not 3!) and that cervix was really far bak and thick!! Is it even possible for it to go backwards Angry Totally confused now and really hoping she just didn't have a clue what she was talking about as she didn't seem to think that this baby would be here any time soon, unlike wed midwife who was convinced that I wouldn't make it to mon!

Am soooo fed up now I can't even begin to explain Sad sorry for the mammoth whinge!!! How many of us still waiting now?! X

chocolatehobnobs · 05/11/2011 11:34

Oh Dannid, that sounds so frustrating. I'm much happier this morning, been to nct yoga and DH stepped up. Normality was so nice! Fingers crossed for us all today x
