Congratulations pink, edward and seasalt. Lots and lots of girls, ey?

Am I the last one on the bus now [hsad]

BB3 · 27/10/2011 08:21

I think we should start a list of those left so we can update once everyone has popped xx

I had my baby boy yesterday at 6.38. 7lbs 9.

MrsHende · 27/10/2011 09:25

Wow! The flurry has come! All those lovely 'm' names too - love it!

Congratulations on the girls! And well done supergreen on breaking the trend with a new boy!

Trudyla I'm still here! I think there are a few of us, not many right enough but one or two!

I worked out this morning that if I get induced at term+12 (which the midwife said would be the likely date I'd get booked in for if nothing happens before then), that would be the 10th Nov. She said that you are usually asked to come in at 3-4pm to get started and that the baby is usually born the next day. So, if that happens, the baby's date of birth would be 11/11/11!! That's quite cool!

Edward, I hope you got some sleep last night and that wee Mhairi has given you a break!

Still here at 39+5

Jane4321 · 27/10/2011 09:34

Having a sweep at midday...40+9

BabCNesbitt · 27/10/2011 11:29

Congratulations, pink, Edward, seasalt and supergreen! Quite the surge of babies! Hope you're all managing to get a bit of kip. :)

I'm still here too Trudyla - 40+2, and going for a sweep this afternoon, too. The local MWs don't hang about!

MrsH, re 'Kevin': I haven't read the book, so I can't compare, but the film was really good - beautiful, great performances, and a real build-up of tension, despite knowing the ending. The reason DH didn't want us to go see it was because he thought it might make me anxious about possibly raising a child that hates me *, but my feeling was that in the film, Kevin seems so obviously a devil child from early on that nothing she did or felt could have made any difference. (I gather the book's a bit more ambiguous?)

(* I do worry about that occasionally, but that's another thread entirely! Grin )

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 27/10/2011 13:37

I'm still here too. Due date today. Seeing the Day Assessment Unit and the consultant today. Trying to avoid an induction which they are very keen to give me Hmm. So will probably get a plan sorted out for the next few days to monitor etc.

Congratulations seasalt and supergreenuk on your babies. Hope you are having lots of cuddles. Edward hope she has settled down now and you're getting a bit of kip!

Jane4321 · 27/10/2011 13:41

..MW could not do sweep as my cervix still closed :(

BabC Good luck with your sweep, hope it's more successful!

SconesForTea · 27/10/2011 13:56

Congratulations seasalt and supergreen on your babies! They seem to be coming thick and fast at the moment...

I am still here, 40+5 and fully expecting to still be here at the start of next week. I've decided I'll make a Christmas cake this weekend (I didn't think I'd get round to it but....) and also am hoping that DH and I will get to the cinema one last time. Then it's my birthday on Monday and we're going out for a lovely meal, so I'm rather hoping I'm still here for that actually!

Jane I'll be 40+9 on Monday when I'm next seeing the MW and will have a sweep - I kinda assumed my cervix may be open by then - but it wasn't with DD at 40+8 when I went for a sweep, so who knows. Is this your first? If it helps, your cervix can go from tightly closed to soft in a matter of hours so tomorrow could be a different story. Keep your chin up.

Still on the bus! (from p15 of this thread)

Hi everyone she eventually settled around 2am then didn't feed again till 1pm so was starting to worry about that, she has now had a good feed and is sleeping soundly yay!

They had no beds in postnatal ward so I've spent the night in labour room which is great for privacy, not great when they forgot to offer me lunch today Confused
so I'm now waiting on another anti d injection then free to take my beautiful baby home Grin

Contests to all the other new mums on the bus and good luck and good labour vibes to those still waiting xx

supergirl1 · 27/10/2011 15:12

Still here too at 40 + 4! Congratulations on all the births - so jealous!
At midwife today and had a sweep - bit ouchy but nothing too bad! Said she could stretch to 3cm and feel the baby's head- does that mean I'm 3cm dilated? Also said the cervix was in the right position etc? Induction booked for next thursday - surely I can't go on that long?
I've copied the list from above and added my name - maybe we should aadd our supposed due date too?

Still on the bus.

supergirl1 · 27/10/2011 16:59

i hope so awen! do you think nookie is still advisable after sweep? :)

chocolatehobnobs · 27/10/2011 17:17

Well done on the new babies pink, edward, seasalt and supergreen . Really relieved to see a few smaller babies. Like the sound of 6lb 3. GrinThis wriggler is 2/5 now but bottom is palpable above belly button. Predicted size is 7lb 14 which is quite big enough!
Having a lovely time today and was taken out for lunch in a 1970s limo in the lipstick edition cream with red leather interior to eat fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding. I need a rest after all the nesting yesterday - now have a tidy utility room and cupboard under the kitchen sink. We saw contagion yesterday which was good .

edward hope you are having a good rest from feeding now. I've added my name to the waiting room list and also Dannid as she's still here too.

39+4 today sorry if any dates are wrong!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 27/10/2011 22:15

Thats us home mhairi slept from 2am this morning through to 1pm and wasn't interested in feeding at all, all day she's had regular feeds again this evening but seems to want to be on constantly again tonight!

Slightly worried about my latch as it hurts quite a bit but will say to MW tomorrow when she comes.

Slightly worrying how hospital deal with things! They had no beds for me in postnatal so had to stay in labour ward, they forgot to offer me lunch (and as I was in private labour room I didn't realise as didn't see any other patients) then I read through the notes when I got home and they have put that I delivered @ 39+1 when it was actually 40+9 and they have mhairi down as male!

Dhs family were all over tonight when we got home so pretty exhausted.

Ds is so cute with his sister, although he wants to hold her all the time and doesn't really understand that he can't.

Mammoth post sorry!

Will post birth story later

MamaMaiasaura · 28/10/2011 00:06

Super - as long as waters intact. Hope all happening for you Smile

I'm sat in bed with Jessica just falling to sleep again after feed and ds2 fast asleep snoring.

MrsHende · 28/10/2011 07:37

We've had a bit of an eventful night...but not for the reasons you might expect!

Our bedroom ceiling fell in at 3 am!!!!!!!!!!

Just what you need at 39+6. Grin

We set up the sofa bed in the living room and DH has been happily snoozing but I've not been able to go back to sleep. Slightly freaked out at the huge lumps of plaster that landed in the empty cot. We only got the bedroom baby ready on Wednesday evening. We live in a one bed flat so, as you might imagine, there is dust and dirt in every room now. My beautifully sorted (but still open) hospital bags for me and the bump are full of plaster, dust and debris. As is the clean washing basket!

Am very grateful that neither of us were hurt and that the baby us fine.

Is it too early to phone my mum?! I think I need the cavalry to help!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 28/10/2011 08:00

Omg mrshende u must be really shook up definitely get as much help as u can.

Is anyone BFing and using a dummy? I really think I need one mhairi is feeding constantly and won't sleep or settle without a boob in her mouth I'm now in agony and going 3 days now on around 6 hours sleep altogether. bb3 can't believe ur keeping 2 fed u r supermum!

So anyway thinking of getting a dummy but afraid of nipple confusion is it too early?

CountryMama · 28/10/2011 08:50

I had my little boy on Wednesday night. He was 8lb 6 and came after only 2 hours of labour.

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 28/10/2011 10:09

Had a baby boy this morning 4am, 8lb 12oz. 2hr labour like CountryMama. All a bit shocked but well. Will update with birth story a bit later after sleep!

Trudyla · 28/10/2011 11:42

Congratulations countrymama, very [henvy] of a 2 hour labour [hgrin]

Thanks for the list, so I'm not left alone (yet) after all.

Still nothing remotely labour-like happening here.

Edward I used a dummy earlier than 6 weeks with DD and it didn't stop her from breastfeeding at all, but of course, all babes are different. Hope you'll figure something out soon that'll help both of you!

Trudyla · 28/10/2011 11:42

Ooops, didn't see you there handdived. Congratulations to you too on both baby boy and short labour [hsmile]

BabCNesbitt · 28/10/2011 14:23

Wow, congratulations handdived and CountryMama - how were the labours (apart from fast!)?

Still nothing doing here either - I had my sweep yesterday (not too uncomfortable, and apparently I have a "favourable cervix" Grin), but all it seems to have done is make the mucus I've been producing all week rather bloody (sorry if TMI!) Otherwise, no twinges, no aches, NUFFINK. I know that being three days over isn't that big a deal, but I'm wary of travelling too far away from the house just in case, so I'm feeling a bit stir crazy!
