Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
OiMissus · 01/11/2011 14:16

I drove home when it started.the drive was excruciating at times and wanted to throw up. It was worse before. The pain is manageable now. But definitely coming at intervals. Quite regular. Last 4 have been 13:29(arrived home) -lasted 5 mins- bad pain, made me throw up, 13:45 lasted 2 mins pain manageable, 13:53 2 mins manageable, 14:00 2 mins manageable, 14:10 2 mins manageable. Pain starting again now.

Mmmmcheese · 01/11/2011 14:19

How exciting! Can you get your Dh to come home? Also might be worth calling hospital as although probabky too early to go in its worth them starting to plan for you to come in and being aware to prepare for you. How many weeks are you? Sorry cant remember.

fusam · 01/11/2011 14:22

Right no more driving. Is your DH still away, I would tell him to start making his way home. Is anyone near that can come and be with you?

Very excited for you, will stay online in case you need anything, good luck and big hugs.

hawthers · 01/11/2011 14:24

eek sounds like this is it - hope you are ok Smile big unapproved hugs coming up north to you x

msbuggywinkle · 01/11/2011 14:25

oi hope you have someone with you now, good luck.

Mmmmcheese · 01/11/2011 14:28

I'll be around too, am just watching tv with one eye on laptop.

hawthers · 01/11/2011 14:29

i'm 'working' so will be on line all afternoon (give or take actually doing some work!). let us know if there is anything we can do x

OiMissus · 01/11/2011 14:30

Called hospital, she said "probably just BH, ?? If they get more painful and closer together call us back". She sounded dismissive from the start. Will call DH and tell him to get back.
Will call mum and just let her know...
And will keep you informed.
Finished packing my hospital bag in one of the lulls...

Mmmmcheese · 01/11/2011 14:34

Doesn't sound like BH to me!

msbuggywinkle · 01/11/2011 14:35

Have you got an online timer? Might be useful to help you keep track www.contractiontimer.com/ especially if they do get more painful.

fusam · 01/11/2011 14:36

Times like this I wish I knitted Grin.

Well done on packing your bag. How far away are DH and your mum? We are all here with you. Did you ever get your tens machine?

How exciting oi!

God it winds me up when MW's don't believe a woman is in labour. With DS the supervising MW refused to believe I was in labour, and only got a second opinion when started screaming the place down kicked up a fuss. 3 hours later DS was born.

Having a mixed day here. Finished DD's blanket, updated iPhone but it's decided to put loads of deleted emails back on my phone, I have over 2000 of them! That'll teach me to never log in on yahoo and delete them properly.

OiMissus · 01/11/2011 14:48

Typical. Called DH, and now I've not had a pain since - for 18 mins... Maybe they were just BH. Jeebers! I really thought this was it. Right, will try and take my mind off it. Sorry if it was a false alarm.

fusam · 01/11/2011 14:56

lol have a bath and a bit of rest and see how you go. This could be your practice run.

AheadlesswomancalledHorse · 01/11/2011 15:02

Oi, put your feet up for the rest of the day. Another one who'll be around for the next few hours (although slightly more useless than everyone else as I've got no idea what labour feels like)!

fusam · 01/11/2011 15:04

While we are all here rubbernecking being supportive, we should probably come up with a title for a new thread.

OiMissus · 01/11/2011 15:21

Had two more pains now. Both lasting 3-4 minutes, more intense. There were 15 minutes between them (and 26 mins lull since the last set.)
Have run a bath, but TBH it's the last thing I want. Will try and find some bilge to watch on tv instead.

  • someone asked, I'm 35+ 5 (36wks on Friday) so if it does turn out to be real, I guess everything will be ok. But we'd probably have to stay in for a while.
Xiaoxiong · 01/11/2011 15:33

Oooh Oi, I'm here eating gingernuts being supportive too!!

If you can't find any good bilge pull up one of the nigel slater cooking programmes on iplayer - it's great distraction, inasmuch as it's almost as good as eating the food yourself. I just watched the most recent one with sausage and chestnut stuffed mushrooms and it has gone straight onto this weeks' meal plan as I have loads of stale bread to whizz up into breadcrumbs.

(realise some don't like Nigel Slater but he cooks just like I do so I always get ideas from his books and programmes)

Title for a new thread...hmm...we've done geeky, we've done side effects (support tights), something about the last 30 days?

Xiaoxiong · 01/11/2011 15:35

PS we have the same due date and when I was in hospital the other weekend the consultant told me if the baby was born then (34 weeks) it would be fine - so nearly 36 weeks can only be better.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 01/11/2011 15:41

Oi Thinking of you. try and relax, gentle movement may help too.

Ladies I'm still really slim, just looks like i've eaten a huge football LOL! So dress was fine, didn't do up properly at the back as you can imagine but was perfect :)

I haven't even thought about a nightdress for labour best get thinking and shopping lol.

msbuggywinkle · 01/11/2011 15:48

If we could have musical thread titles I'd suggest the Countdown music...

oi hope baby decides what they're doing soon, or at least by bedtime!

tyel I love Nigel Slater too, am very Envy of his garden though, although I bet he has a gardener.

fusam · 01/11/2011 16:05

Countdown is apt, any catchy phrases you can think of? . Musically can only think of the 12 days of christmas song.

OiMissus · 01/11/2011 16:14

"it's the final countdown, de-de-derrr-derrr. De-de-de-de-derrrr!" is the only countdown I can think of. Europe-style.
Pain much more intense again, been sick again, but no regularity at the moment.
Still, this has been going on for 3 hours now, I'm finding it hard to believe these are BH. But I suppose this could go on for a few days.

fusam · 01/11/2011 16:18

They don't sound like BH to me at all Oi. Am not really sure what to suggest other than to maybe go in to hospital and insist on being seen. Are you still on your own?
