Hi everyone. Congrats on your BFP's Mildertduck, notnowImreading and everyone else. Back at work after a week off, had to drop tearful DS at the childminder this morning which always makes me Sad

Hi everyone, cant believe how many people are on here already. I have very few symptoms, slightly tender breasts (which is a pain as still bf DS1) and a bit tired but having it much easier than last pregnancy which I find strange.
I was hugely worried about everything last pregnancy (took loads of tests also) but this time I am much more chilled out. Probably because I hardly have time to think about it what with running after 15month old all the time. Me and DH were feeling a bit bad not getting as excited this time round as last. Its hard actually to imagine loving this one as much as DS1 so feeling bad about that too.
Oh I heard that refreshers are good for heartburn as they have chalk in them and they taste better than gaviscon.

Has anyone quit smoking since they found out?

MyDaydream · 06/09/2011 11:34

mythical i quit the day I found out. Okay I was naughty and didn't take the test until I'd smoked my whole pack, but since I got the lines nothing. I've been trying to quit all year because OH hates it, so he's extra happy now! The first week was hard, but now it's sunk in I don't want one, my baby is too important.

mythical · 06/09/2011 11:59

Same. I haven't touched them since i found out and i haven't really craved it. Maybe once. I'm scared i will start craving them soon. Dh still smokes and so does the rest of the house. :(

FloydieDoydie · 06/09/2011 12:12

Thank you Mr Postman for delivering yet another item of clothing I ordered before i knew I was pregnant that now won't fit me very soon. Hahaha! Ah well, I'd rather this than not be pg Smile

Northey · 06/09/2011 12:20

I am in the middle of sorting out flights for a pre-planned holiday in a couple of weeks' time. I can't back out without looking suspicious. And every website I've looked at says it is fine (apart from the hassle of morning sickness on a plane). But I am still anxious. It shoul be ok, shouldn't it? It's only very short haul.

Quenelle · 06/09/2011 12:29

Hi goodname that is a redhot tip re refreshers. I crunched Extra Strong Mints last time because I liked the texture but too many would really make my mouth hurt. Will give refreshers a go this time. (What a good job we get the free dental!)

I gave up smoking years ago so that's not a problem for me. I miss the wine though. I was pretty sure I was pregnant when I was on holiday last week but still had about one glass a day before I tested. It's impossible to sleep in a tent unless you've had a drink.

Looking forward to getting my old maternity clothes out of the loft in the next couple of weeks. I remember being so bloated at about 6-7 weeks that I couldn't wear my jeans any more. I'm on much more of a budget this time though so I will have to make do wherever possible. No shopping at Isabella Oliver for me this time [determined]

Quenelle · 06/09/2011 12:33

I would be happy to fly at this stage, Northey. Perhaps make a call to your travel insurance company to set your mind at rest though?

Northey · 06/09/2011 12:47

Good thinking, Q. I know I am being ridiculous!

Quenelle · 06/09/2011 13:11

No, you're being careful. Perfectly understandable Smile

mildertduck · 06/09/2011 13:41

Just back from the GP - she was ever so nice, and booking-in appointments with the GP and the midwife are made (odd; didn't realise I'd have a booking-in appointment with the GP too). Due date 7th May given when I think I ovulated but dating scan will have to confirm.

Vommed loud enough to wake the dead in the ladies' this morning... hadn't realised someone else was in the cubicle next to me. Had to hide until I was sure they'd gone!

Having a bit of anxiety today about blighted ova and miscarriage and anencephaly and things :( trying to reassure myself that each day is another day there weren't any problems.

Hey There, checking in again, a big hello to everyone new on the thread.

Goodname I too have horrendous heartburn, I also unfortunately had it right through the whole pregnancy last time. I'm munching on fruit flavoured rennies as Gaviscon makes me retch. I am also horrendously knackered, not ideal with a 13 month old in tow.

Rather jealous of those with morning sickness already (stupid I know!) as I only have sore boobs and mega tiredness to show for being preggers - really want a big sign that I am. Doesn't really feel real yet. I too have been freaking out rather at miscarriage rates etc - have to try and put it out of my mind and relax!

Haven't seen the doctor yet - must try and book an appt in the next few weeks.

TooOldForThisLark · 06/09/2011 19:05

Wrt clothes, last time I had real problems finding pretty maternity clothes so went to posh charity shops and got pretty floaty dresses for "larger ladies" and that worked well so may try that again as we're going to be happily broke if things go well.

Greetings -- just did the test last night so first order of business was of course, getting sorted on Mumsnet. My EDD is a internet generated one rather than a real one (if there is such a thing) as doctor can't see me until two weeks from now.

It's my second, DS is 2, still feels a little surreal as it was our first try. Am really excited - I waited awhile to have 2nd as first is amazing but v. 'spirited' and was a honeymoon baby so feels a little less oh *&%^! this time around.

Looking forward to enjoying the ride with both the newbies and the old hands! No symptoms yet except sore breasts so am off to do some bra research, I never found a good one the first time around. Feel free to send any my way.....
