Gosh so sorry to hear the news from catsy and llittle9 :( there do seem to have been a lot of losses on this thread. Do take care ladies.

Re pelvic floor exercises...I am constantly doing them! Can't stress how important they are having been through some major perineal trauma with ds's birth. dreaming we were taught the lift thing too in NCT but when you first start doing them you're only supposed to be able to go to one level, and then as you strengthen your pelvic floor you'd be able to do 2, 3 or 4 levels then release them one by one... it is actually bloody tiring! Grin But worth it to not have a falling apart perineum a few years down the line.

Also I can hugely recommend a dream genii pillow...I had bad pack pain/sciatica last time and was sleeping with a pillow between my legs and one behind and in front of me before I got the dream genii- soooo much simpler Grin (and more room for dh in the bed!!) they are pricey but I got mine in a JojoMamanBebe outlet for £20 so worth searching for a good price at different stores near you.

DialMforMummy · 30/10/2011 21:13

Witty title anyone?
Just got results from nuchal scan, risk is 1/78000. I am so thrilled!
Not so thrilled by waist size though... I look bigger than my weeks (14). I keep saying to myself that it's because it's DC2 and I just had DS1 a year ago....
Pelvic floor exercises? What's that? Keep mentioning it girls, every time you do, I do some! Blush
Saddened by crap scans, my thoughts are with you.

LittleSarah · 30/10/2011 21:21

Chipo and little9, very sorry to hear your news, it is just dreadful. Take care. Sad

Another still waiting for a scan here, not due (currently) until 21st May and scan is a week tomorrow. Difficult not to worry, but as last mmc I really felt something was wrong and I don't feel that this time I'm hoping that means all is well! Although I don't really feel it is well, just have no idea, have symptoms and no bleeding so no need to panic at least.

Not been doing many pelvic floor exercises, I have done them in past pregnancies but not as regularly as you are told! I've been very lucky with my labours (short and straightforward) so I've never worried too much about them, I will try and be a little more diligent this time!

I very much want one of those big long pillows this time, been sleeping on my front a little, I don't think it causes any harm, but I know I won't want to soon.

Re sex of baby. I have not yet found out but I think I will (if poss) this time. I am leaning a little towards a girl, not sure why as ds was the easiest baby and is the sweetest child, dd lovely too of course but harder work at times. Perhaps it is the lovely girly clothes I want really!

Anyway, I hope every had a nice weekend.

mythical · 30/10/2011 22:07

Hmm.. pelvic floor exercises...

does delaying going to the loo count? :S

Scan tomorrow and yep, i'm sh*t scared. i hope everything will be okay though. 12+5 today

dreamingofanallotment · 31/10/2011 06:05

My scan is today too mythical, we'll have to do some virtual hand holding!

Yorky · 31/10/2011 07:49

Good luck Mythical and Dreaming

How have 'due in June' already started their 2nd tread - do we need to talk MORE??!!

myweeangel · 31/10/2011 08:54

Good luck for scans today, mine's Friday.

A very proud mummy this weekend - my DD has kicked her dummy habit! Just two nights of taking a bit longer to go to sleep and we've arrived! Can't believe it. She's going around telling everyone she's a big girl and doesn't need her dummy now :)

Dorris83 · 31/10/2011 09:26

Good luck this week mythical, *dream

Dorris83 · 31/10/2011 09:29

Good luck this week on your scans : mythical, dreaming, failsafe, and myweeangel! My scan is tomorrow and I'm so excited/ nervous.

cupcakefairy · 31/10/2011 11:17

Oh god just realised i sent condolences to catsy instead of chipo im so sorry to both ladies that was really insensitive of me :(

goodname · 31/10/2011 11:39

Hi everyone, so so sad to hear the bad scan results from so many on here.
I am absolutely shattered just now, DS who is 17months currently has a terrible cold/cough which keeps him up half the night. He also seems to have a sickness bug and be teething all at once. He is managing to insist on getting up at 6 despite his lack of sleep and I have no idea where he gets his stamina from as I am wrecked.
I too am feeling sick at dinnertime and barely managing a meal, loving anything vinegary esp salt and vinegar kettle crisps and pickled onion monster munch. Also loving packets of instant noodles, proper spicy ones from the chinese supermarket rather than supernoodles. Oh and bacon rolls even tho I had not eaten meat for about 7 years before I got pregnant! Such a healthy lifestyle I have just now, feel quite guilty about what nutrition the baby is getting.
Hope everyones scans go well this week. We are off to Sicily for 2 weeks on Saturday but so far have only booked flights, have been too tired to look for accomodation after DS is in bed so will really have to get sorted out. Will be lovely to get away to warmer weather but am dreading the flights.

PopEsMummy · 31/10/2011 11:53

Hi Everyone

I haven't been on here in a while, so sorry to hear all the sad news. There does seem to have been a lot on this thread Sad.

I've got my scan this afternoon. I had the scan at 8 weeks and everything was fine, but I'm still nervous. We've got to take DD with us, no family in the area to help and all my friends are either welcoming home or saying goodbye to their DH's over the next few days so there's no one we can ask to take her. Hopefully she'll be the little angel I know she can be (and not the little hell-raiser she usually is when it matters Grin). The scanning clinic has jigsaws/books etc. for little ones so they're obviously used to having them there.

Glad to see it's not just me with a bump. It's not too bad under clothes (although I had to cave and get some mat jeans last week as my normal ones were actually causing abdo pain), but DH can feel it when we're in bed. Really hoping there's just one pip in there, she only saw one at the 8 weeks scan - but did say it was hard to tell at that stage...

I'm struggling with food too - I lost 5kg up to this point last time and I've lost again this time. I'm okay cooking it, but then can't sit down and eat it. I made DH a full Christmas dinner on saturday, including trifle, and just looking at it made we want to vomit. Even DD's pretend food from her kitchen makes me nauseous! Really thirsty all the time though Hmm.

Good luck to everyone having their scans soon - nearly at the second trimester!! Smile

Little one is fine. I'm also nearly a week further along than i thought so my new due date is 3rd of may. Baby was very wriggly and it was stretching and all sorts :)
I hope all your scans go well today. X

dreamingofanallotment · 31/10/2011 15:41

My scan was also fine - I couldn't get over how wriggly little one was - and I was very excited to see it put fingers in its mouth! Aww!

My due date has also been changed to 4 days ahead (5 days ahead of what midwife reckoned) to the 8th May so I'll change the stats thread in a bit.

Glad to hear your scan went well today too mythical :)

Hope you get a good rest soon goodname - snoozing on a sun lounger in Sicily perhaps?!

Hope your scan went well this afternoon PopEsMummy.

Failsafe · 31/10/2011 17:19

no twins for me either! phew

Had my scan this afternoon, just one very very wirggley baby! I didnt realise how much they can move at 12 weeks!

Mikocat · 31/10/2011 17:27

Had my scan today too. My due date has gone forward a few days to 1st May, so I'm still hanging onto this thread!

As far as new thread names go how about "Second Trimester - More Glowing, Less Throwing" Wink that's what I'm hoping for anyway!

PopEsMummy · 31/10/2011 17:48

Scan went fine thanx Smile

Just one very wriggly baby on board! DD was absolutely fascinated Grin

Got my appointment for the 20 week scan for the 4th January. Seems far away but it's only 9 weeks!

Glad you all had good news at the scans too

Righto off to pester DH into getting my maternity clothes out of the loft.

mildertduck · 31/10/2011 17:50

The bad news: I've eaten half a cream cracker today. That's it. The hyperemesis is back with a vengeance... :( and to top it all off I'm having an utterly horrible time at work. Might try some cereal in a bit, as I can normally manage that. Just really struggling to eat anything at all. i am so fed up of feeling like this.

The good news: nuchal test results are back and it's 1 in 100,000. I had to read that several times as they didn't put a comma in - very pleased though! One less thing to worry about.

myweeangel · 31/10/2011 18:32

dreaming - fingers in mouth - so cute! I'm willing on Friday like a child waiting for Christmas. I like that lots of other pregnancy-related things have definitely lost their novelty factor (the puking, the sore boobs, the insomnia... need I go on?) but the scan is every bit as amazing and exciting as first time round. If anything, it's even better, cos I know the joy that's ahead of me.

Well done all little wriggly babies showing off beautifully for their scans. :)

Health visitor coming for my DD's 2 year assessment. Feeling bit nervous, hope she can show off beautifully...

myweeangel · 31/10/2011 18:34

Oh dreaming, your date is the same as mine now! Unless mine changes as well, there seems to be a lot of changes here with dates.

mythical · 31/10/2011 18:48

thank you! for editing that for me dreaming! i'm so pleased all your scans went well!

that picture i posted was VERY hard to take due to wriggliness i have to say!

dreamingofanallotment · 31/10/2011 19:19

Lots of scans today! Glad yours went well too failsafe and mikocat.

Mikocat I'm liking the thread title name too!

Urgh, mildertduck you poor thing - have you been to the docs? Hope it eases soon. Good news about your nuchal results though :)

LimeFlower · 31/10/2011 19:31
