Aren't there a lot of us now! and a lovely mix of 1st timers and those who already have kids - some really close age gaps too, not that I can talk!

My boast for the day is that even after 3 kids my pelvic floor must be OK - having a new bathroom fitted so spent the whole day without a loo!!! SO glad I don't have morning sickness :)

Loving the idea of refreshers instead of rennies

How is everyone this evening? At what point has people's morning sickness been kicking in? My dates aren't exact but I think I am around 5 weeks. I haven't been sick but starting to feel a bit nauseous today

Northey · 06/09/2011 20:30

Wow, aren't we growing? Hello new people! Congratulations!

I am feeling good this evening, thanks, lalabuloo. My boobs have started hurting, so I am groping them from time to time for the reassuring twinge. I am jealous of the pukers too, dreaming , though I expect I will soon regret having said that.

Wrigglebum · 06/09/2011 20:38

I am so insanely hungry right now, can't stop thinking about food. My last pregnancy I lost interest in food and had a tiny appetite, DS was 6lb at birth, now he doesn't appear to feel hunger and sees eating as an infringement of his right to play (not sure he's mine). Perhaps this time I'll have a chubby baby who loves food?!

Got a little bit of borderline nausea but manageable. I'm hoping the travel bands'll help as last time the morning sickness stopped after I got them (may have been a coincidence but I was only 10 weeks at the time). Good hint about the refreshers- I didn't get any indigestion last time as I didn't really eat enough, but the way I'm stuffing my face now I'm sure it'll come Smile

Went to doctor's today to ask re their procedure- as it's pregnancy number two they trust me to POAS correctly so I can just book straight in with the midwife. Seems everywhere has a different procedure.

Yay4May I had a couple of these when breastfeeding and have started wearing them again. They are so comfortable, not sure why I bothered going back to regular bras (although they are pretty huge so a big no no under low cut or floaty tops, but then what maternity/nursing bras are?).

DialMforMummy · 06/09/2011 21:26

Hi all! I am ok tonight but absolutely whacked (like the first time, this DC2). Went to bed before 9 pm Blush
No sickness for me thankfully but still plenty acne... And a bit of a headache.
Hope all of you are well. Will add myself to the list when posting from computer.

Little9 · 06/09/2011 22:47

Hello all. I did a test last Friday and my due date is 11 May. This is my first and am feeling anxious about it all. Am a little shocked it happened so soon, so keep wondering if I've got it wrong!!! Keep getting twinges myself so was good to read earlier comments on this thread.

myweeangel · 06/09/2011 22:53

Not a frequent poster but wondering can I add myself to the list?

hello everyone again! first appointment with the GP is tomorrow. i'm a bit nervous but hopefully after i get everything confirmed i'll stop taking pregnancy tests daily (yes,i may have OCD regarding this).

breasts are still very very tender but i found (surprisingly enough) that my padded bras really help with that as usually it hurts when i brush over it with my coat/hand/elbow/towel but the padding helps a lot with that.

DialMforMummy i've been falling asleep at 9 all week. i had a day off today - the only reason why i'm not asleep by now!

I have recently increased my hours at work (before i found out) and i did my first long day in ages yesterday. i was absolutely exhausted by the end of the day. i'm considering letting my manager know asap as the job involves standing up for up to 8 hours with a small break in between. is it silly to tell them this early on?

Northey and others - you can wait for 'morning' sickness believe you me! Like weeangel I barfed ALL DAY between about 6 and 14 weeks. I am dreading that (should be starting in 2 weeks I reckon) more than anything else including labour! I was off sick from work for 6 weeks and my husband would leave the house in the am and find me in the same place (sofa) when he came home. We are moving house 1 Nov which will might mean I will be right in the middle of it. Fingers crossed it's not as bad.

Not sure why I put that my 1st is 2 and a boy becuase she's a girl and 3.5. Hello?? Clearly pg brain kicking in already.

Thanks for suggestion wrigglebum, am off to john lewis today and I can literally feel them getting tighter.

Quenelle · 07/09/2011 11:22

I can wait for morning sickness too. I only puked once last time but felt sick all day for at least 12 weeks.

Apart from some pulling feelings around my uterus which I assume is the ligaments or whatever they are doing something and some twingeing in my boobs, I'm not feeling many symptoms yet. Long may it last!

Shhhh · 07/09/2011 11:33

I guess I need to join... another irrgulat cycle so due sometime in may (5th i think..) I have 2 kids already, dd (6) and ds(4) and I cant stop crying...

I so wanted a 3rd and now im here im petrified. Dh is away with work and I have noone to talk to atm as wanted to keep it quiet.

Just scared about the change it will mean to my family esp as dd is adamant she doesn't want a brother or sister..Sad.

Northey · 07/09/2011 12:08

Congratulations shhhh! Are you crying about being pregnant, or just howling over adverts in a hormonally emotional way? I hope you feel better soon, anyway. I'm sure your dd will come round in the end. I speak as a dd who threw the strop of all time over her baby sister, but eventually relented after a year, and now worships the ground she walks on.

Am seeing the doctor next Tuesday (aaaages away :( but it was the first appointment available with the doctor who'd been overseeing my infertility stuff, and I thought I would rather wait for her than see another doctor sooner).

Shhhh · 07/09/2011 12:49

thanks, yes im crying over being pregnant. I guess maybe I need time to get my head around it. (I sooo hope so..)

Not booked the docs yet, think I need to get used to the idea first.

I think my husband filled my mouth with rusty nails last night. If I drink any more peppermint tea I'm going to look like a polo...! Not sure if my clothes are getting tighter but I've mostly been wearing dresses this week. Ohgodohgod I feel like hammered shit - I'd slope off home except there's a very cheery plumber there refitting my bathroom...

Quick question to the old hands on here: Do you get told about your scan appointment in a letter from the hospital? I completely forgot to ask.

Big hugs to shhhh - thinking of you.

Hope you're feeling more sorted Shhhh - have you told your hubby yet?

I have just taken delivery of the Mumsnet pregnancy book, and this book so that's my evening sorted!

I am soooo tired today - first day back at work - and got in the car at the end of the day and could've snooze-driven the whole way home! Also read the menu for our staff christmas do today - starters are either soup or pate....guess I'm having soup then!!

DialMforMummy · 07/09/2011 22:03

mythical I told big boss only at work for practical reasons but made it clear to them that things could go tits up still as only 6 weeks.... I haven't told anyone else mainly because many of our friends are TTC and one couple in particular miscarried recently. Told quite a few people before the scan for DS but because I thought that if I MC I'd need the support.
Having a late one tonight, in bed at 9.30 wow, rock and roll!

DialMforMummy · 07/09/2011 22:05

mildertduck yes I got a letter naming time and date last time. This wait is always too long...

myweeangel · 07/09/2011 22:50

Yay4may - first of all what a great name! Yay indeed. Second of all, sympathising with you dreading the sickness. However, must say mine didn't affect work. Was "lucky" enough to be sick at 6am and then from 6pm onwards most days. Baby was considerate of my work.... Hoping it's not too bad this time round. Secretly though, just so excited to be pregnant that whatever comes my way, I'll deal with it. (Remind me of that when I'm moaning in a few weeks, won't you all???)

myweeangel · 07/09/2011 22:51

That was meant to be Yay4may - still getting to grips with this!

myweeangel · 07/09/2011 22:55

Wrigglebum - no 1 only 6lbs??? I shot out a 10 lb 5ozer!!! Hubby and I both over 6 ft so fully expected.
And before anyone asks, yes, the drugs DID work! :)

Yay4may · 08/09/2011 10:02

I felt twinge of nausea this am but am telling myself that it was bc my dd was wedged underneath me last night and kept me up (never interested before but has taken to sleeping with us lately which will need to stop soon!)

Found excellent Elle MacPherson bra (Fly Butterfly style) yesterday, very good if you have 'full' breasts ie stuff at the sides. My boobies literally said ahhhh when I tried it on. They are red hot and burning kind of like that feeling you get with nursing. Weird. (And bonus the bra is quite attractive - husband eyes lit up! Great quote - 'wow, they've made some imporvements in those things in 4 years!')

I geeked out a little yesterday while at the shops and looked at maternity clothes. I am also remembering how much I love being pregnant!
I also ordered some 'second time around' books.

Part of me wants to tell the world and part of me wants to keep it a secret for awhile. I will have to tell my best friend who I have a standing weekly drinks date - am a bit nervous as she has been ttc, only for a year but she's a bit down about it. Any advice from those of you who have been there? Am keenly aware that my two easy conceptions could cause sensitivity.

Quenelle · 08/09/2011 10:48

Yay4may tell me about second time around books. I love a good preggo book. I'm waiting for the mumsnet guide to arrive from Amazon any day.

It's a toughie about telling your mate. You know her best after all. I guess just let her know you are sensitive to her situation but you wanted to be straight with her from the start...?
