Here we are girls. I think we are all a bit shell-shocked at the moment, aren't we?

Thinking of you DHW and wishing life wasn't so cruel sometimes.

Newgirl, hurrah for your placenta moving, normal delivery fingers x'd then

Well still feeling odd here, with twinges every now and again....ho hum.....have swept and mopped kitchen and hall floors, going to hoover lounge and stairs, then will waddle into town to get some lucozade and see what happens!

totallyinlove · 15/02/2006 12:29

will expect the birth announcement this evening then friz!?! hehe

just had a friend round for coffee. Shes due 2 days before me. she not showing any signs of movement!

Theres so much I know I should do. But I just can't seem to get round to doing it!! I'm in the middle of making a big list of things that i want to get done before the baby, cleaning etc. Some are stupid things like buying a separate washing up bowl for the babies stuff (something I've always done!)

Very tired today as well for some reason, but the urge to get things done is starting to get too much....hmm

poppyh · 15/02/2006 15:06

TIL,
I always have a seperate washing up bowl for baby too!Was actually just thinking about buying one!!How Funny we all are eh?!!

UniSarah · 15/02/2006 17:25

All got a bit exciting on here this morning then!
After pips quiet day yesterday hes been bouncing around again today- rah.I'm getting hacked off with the carpenter who building my new bookcase, hes still not showed up to finish it ggrrr. trouble is hes a mate so i don't want to shout and rant about it but I really would like the job FINISHED we started talking about it back in september!
Still this morning was nice, I went to mums and babes group, then to lunch with one of the other mums. Nice to have a natter. perinal massage did come up in conversatation, the tale of the self tearing had us both wincing.
Our Cricket club have announced that the annual dinner is on the day after pips due :-( I don't think I'll be going, dh MIGHT do if nowts happened . However we are thinking of sponsering a bit of the new pavillion in pips name! If you buy a board you get your name on it.
UniSarah

Frizbetheexpansionset · 15/02/2006 18:27

But only for a bit Unisarah! all calm now, bar dh, whose booked tomorrow off work,as convinced I'm going to drop tonight! still feel nauseaous and bump v low = pressure! bar that now't!!!

TIL is that nesting or having to !

RosiePosie · 15/02/2006 19:24

Aw, Friz - sounds like things are limbering up, but this could go on for weeks! After telling everyone that this baby WILL be arriving during half term there is absolutely nothing happening here - I'm going to feel a right wally going back to the school run next week, bump still intact!

Silly question - is anyone bothering with a snowsuit? Especially those due end of Feb/beginning of March - I'm thinking one might come in handy for a few weeks, March into April. Wondering whether to pick up a cheapy one from eBay, what do you reckon?

OP posts:
Frizbetheexpansionset · 15/02/2006 20:00

Luckily still got two kicking around from last time RP, think will probably use them, as gets rather windy round our way!

laundrylover · 15/02/2006 20:01

Come on Friz - gizza baby!
RP-Tilly was born at the end of Feb and got good use out of the two snowsuits that she was given. Good idea to look on ebay or check out Matalan etc? If this one's a boy it may have to venture out in a cute pink suit!
I bet like me you'll be dying to get out walking again after being crippled for so many months so guess we'd better wrap the littleys up well eh?
Does anyone else who isn't a first timer dread those days of having to manhandle those tiny limbs into clothes?? I fear I may break some bones being used to shoving Tilly into her tights!

laundrylover · 15/02/2006 20:02

Crossed threads - that's the baked beans making you windy Friz!!

Marne · 15/02/2006 21:07

Hi girls,

Friz, have you had that baby yet?

RP, i've bought two snow suits, one of e-bay and a cheep one for when i bring her home even though it could be alot warmer by the end of march.

I've got my scan tomorow to see if there is any reason why my bumps not growing very fast, i'm a bit worried even though the midwife said evrything should be fine, they just need to check because of all the bleeds i have had.

Hope you are all well.

RosiePosie · 16/02/2006 08:03

Thanks everyone, will get a cheapo one from eBay then - everywhere seems to have moved on to their spring selections now anyway, so second hand is the only option. Yes, LL - I really can't wait to get out and about walking again - never thought I'd get excited about walking the school run, lol. Although the SPD this time around really hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be - much better than last time - but I think that's because I HAVE been so cautious and not walked anywhere.

Marne, all the best of luck for your scan today.

OP posts:
Frizbetheexpansionset · 16/02/2006 09:27

Marne not a chance, all has died down dh gutted told him not to take day off work!! lol

vickiyumyum · 16/02/2006 09:33

rosie posie - do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? its just i have two snowsuits that are brand new that have been given to me, but they are pink, and you are welcome to have one of them if you want it for free, as i am due 20th march so unlikely that i will need 2 snowsuits!

off to the drop in w/w clinic this morning as my gd test was inconclusive!!!! so ahve to repeat it today, just trying to force down 2 pieces of toast then off to the hospital 2 hours later.

Jackstini · 16/02/2006 09:43

Come on Friz - get jumping up and down - got all excited for you yesterday! Menu for today will be curry, pineapple & 6 cops of respberry leaf tea then.....
Marne - good luck for your scan today.
New Girl - glad yours went well and no C section - but yes, you do now have to push it out!
Getting harder and harder to heave myself out of bed at night for a wee now and had wicked braxtons last night. Poor dh just kept saying 'what can I do' and looking distraught while I winced and panted thru them. Goodness knows what he will be like when it's for real!
Only 18 working days left to go now and probably only 3 long drives. Counting down with a vengence...
Hope everyone else is relaxing/doing frantic nesting as preferred!

munz · 16/02/2006 09:44

morning ladies,

hope everyone's OK.

friz - sorry to hear it's all died back down for u, for thepast 3 nights my DH has been telling me I have to go into labour in the middle of the night as he doesn't want to go to work! lol. when u say bump's v low do u mena as in waddaling low? i'm sure my bump's dropped but have thoughtt hat b4 and it's not - is there any clear way to tell??

rosie - yes I have 2 (well had 3 but gave one to my cousin in yorkshire) i've got a NB one given to us and a 0-3 one brought, in wales it's not normally warm till june, july if u're lucky, althou I must admit we've had a v mild winter down here so far and it's still light come 5pm (has been for some weeks now - v v unheard of down here! lol) i'll be bringing the bubs home in his one and using the other if needed - althou he also has a duffle coat in 0-3 and another 'heavy' coat in 3-6 a suede effect one JARM sent me so he's all kitted out for coats till about sept ish.

TIL - any more movements from u?? washing up bowl - erm call me thick but what do u use it for just washing the bottles and that or actually washing the baby? - it's the standing joke that we're not gonna get a baby bath (unless it's given to us) we're just gonna use the sink/buy a new bowl! in fact DH found the tub thingy on ebay the otehr day - he found it highly amusing! lol.

jersey - that's the day after my b'day so fingers crossed all's well for u!

chelle - I think that's the size bath I need! lol - have all u home birth mums got the pool? does the pool help out with the pains? our hospital has one, and I'm v tempted to say I want to use it but not sure as it would mean going on to the delivery suite instead of having the baby in one of the private rooms.

ng - glad to hear ur placenta's moved - welcome to the ranks of fearing the labour pains! lol.

rom - how was the accupuncha? (sp) that massage thing - ouch! DH keeps telling me I should do it after watching the video at anti natal classes - like hell I will be - is it really proven to help stop tearing? DH finds the whole thing highly amusing! lol.

must book in for my next anti natal class actually which should be next saturday - ooh best be quick then! lol. off for a m/w apt today at 1.45 so hoping she has some good news - it would be fab if she said ok u're 2/3 cm dialiated the baby's down u'll have him by the w/e! but then I wake up and she'll actually say ok fab i'll see u in two weeks! lol. alos baked a load of cakes yesterday - and told DH he'd best take some to work if he actually wants to eat any! lol.

munz · 16/02/2006 09:46

jack - aww 18 more days hopefully it will go quickly for u.

nesting - what's that then?? i've got a list as long as my arm of things to do but the urge isn't kicking it quite yet - I keep thinking I can't be arsed! lol. the TV is more appealing - althou I have washed and ironed all of the LO's new bedding and it's on his bed, and i'm mid way on ironing his clothes - ours haven't been done for about a month but at least LO's will be freshly pressed! lol.

RosiePosie · 16/02/2006 09:59

Thanks for the offer, VYY - but it's definately a boy!

Well, I can definately say that self induction techniques DON'T work unless you and the baby are ready. DH and I have "done it" four nights out of the last five and zilch is happening. So, I'm just going to relax and try and rest up now until it happens. Definately expecting to go into March now

OP posts:
vickiyumyum · 16/02/2006 10:04

never mind then. if anyone else wants a pink snowsuit, let me know, its a plain pink fleece snowsuit, witha small rabbit embroidered on the chest.

totallyinlove · 16/02/2006 10:08

oh friz. poor you. bet you are as fed up as me now?? i really thought something was on the move!

i have just bought a jacket for bubs. from my previous experience snowsuits are a nightmare to get on and off, expecially if they have just dropped off to sleep!! and you cant get them into car seats with them on very well!!

Anyone picked names yet?

munz · 16/02/2006 10:36

lol@ rosie - and there was me gonna pounce on DH every night from friday - althou he's working all w/e so I doubt i'll get to pounce till weds/thurs when he has two dasy off. lol.

munz · 16/02/2006 10:40

ooh til - we did have jake (as u prob know) but i've gone off of it. DH is now at the stage of being annoyed with me shouting names out at him, and as it's so soon we've decided to take the book intot he hospital and decide then. lol. as I beleive u have a few weeks b4 u have to decided and register the birth, so the general view is if we can wait we will - def gettin into this pembrokshire way of life! lol. with the pembrokshire promise!

RosiePosie · 16/02/2006 11:22

This one is Matthew, but I'm not committing myself 100 percent until he's born. We've started calling him Matthew though, so I expect it will stick. No idea on middle name.

OP posts:
Marne · 16/02/2006 11:26

We have called bump Saffron, still looking for a middle name.

totallyinlove · 16/02/2006 12:03

i know the sex of the baby but husband still doesnt want to know so im pointlessly arguing names, 50% of which we dont need!! At the moment its George for a boy and Eleanor for a girl. Very old fashioned I know but still.

poppyh · 16/02/2006 14:17

Ours is Esme. Still trying to agree on middle name though.
