Hello! I've just found out that I'm pregnant and due on the 23rd March! I'm 29 and live in London with my husband, dog and cat. So far at 4 weeks things are going very smoothly! I'm very excited about going to the doctor (even if they don't care) as feel it will make things more real!
If you're expecting in March too please join the thread and share a bit about yourself and how your pregnancy is going!

Hello everyone, and congratulations all round.

Found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks ago, due 10th March or thereabouts. I'm 31, got married in April and started trying straight away so me and hubby are thrilled that I've managed to fall so quickly.
I'm ridiculously excited and am finding keeping this a secret very very hard!
Symptoms wise, no sickness as such yet but waves of nausea mid afternoon, ridiculously tired and spend most of my time either sleeping or sat on the toilet lol!

wilmabetty · 18/07/2011 19:22

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I've done a couple of postive pregnancy tests and think I am due around 13th March. This will be my first prenancy. My doctors surgery have told me not to make an appointment until I am 10 weeks pregnant. Is this normal? From the threads I have read it seems people tend to see someone much sooner than this! Very very excited after a year of trying. Symtoms wise odd waves of nausea and sore breasts!

Carlitawantsababy · 19/07/2011 07:56

Hello newbies! Congratulations and welcome!!! Great to hear all your stories, there are getting to be quite a few of us here now! I have been catching up on all the posts from the other march thread that 2 people provided links to earlier in this one, there are lots of people there so I'm going to join. I'll keep checking here too in case you want to continue on this one. For those of you, like me, who couldn't follow the links or find the thread, it is in antenatal clubs- anyone else due in march?? I'm going to post there too in a minute so that there're even more people to share re news with! GrinI'm so excited!Grin

I listed everyone on the thread in due date order, that way you can see if others are due around the same date. We seem to have a little 15th march posse going on already!
Please adjust the list as needed, if your doc changes your due date or if you want to come off the list and move to the other march thread in the antenatal section. Also, no pressure re ages, add them in if you want, some people find them useful in building up a picture of the person.
Are any of you having any cravings or weird food aversions? I had a cheese and picked onion sandwich on Turkish bread.....for breakfast this morning! I don't think I've ever had pickled onions in a sandwich before and definitely NOT for breakfast! Grin

FeelingaBitSick · 19/07/2011 11:01

Hi Carlita I'm 26 and this is baby no.2! No cravings but the smell of cauliflower made me feel sick this morning as I opened the fridge! Shame because it's one of the few veg I like!

YummyMummy2Bee · 19/07/2011 15:20

I loved reading this!! Made me remember i'm not alone!! I'm due March 4th with my first child and i can't wait!! Im 7+2 and suffering severe morning sickness!! Doctor has prescribed me anti sickness tablets, however i just throw them up :( HELPP!! xx

Carlitawantsababy · 19/07/2011 15:48

yummymummy congratulations and welcome! Sorry you are feeling so sick, that is terrible! Has the doctor indicated if there's an alternative? Can you keep liquids down? Many medicines also come in liquid form but these are more expensive so they'll normally try tablet form first! Have you tried travel sickness bands?

OP posts:
ZhenXiang · 19/07/2011 15:49

Congrats to all newly pregnant ladies.

Yummy - you are due the same day as me! Last time I was prego had bad sickness and the docs prescribed me anti-nausea tablets that dissolve under the tongue. I found grapefruits helped and ginger tablets oh and fennel tea/fresh. It is plain crisps this time round. If you find it difficult to keep fluids down ice lollies are good to suck on, you can make your own full of goodies to keep up your nutrient intake.

YummyMummy2Bee · 19/07/2011 15:57

The doctor hasn't indicated any other options, i have tried disolving the tablets and drinking it in a small amount of water, but the taste is revolting, so i gag and end up throwing up. ATM i'm living on appletisers and the odd rich tea biscuit!! Havent thought to try travel sickness bands, but will definately try them!!

Thanks for the advice ladies, and ZhenXiang let me know what you are going through too, as it would be nice to know what someone else is going through with me!! :

ZhenXiang · 19/07/2011 16:07

Yummy I am not too sick in the morning, I have evening sickness instead. Lots of growing stretchy feelings in uterus and am very tired. Sore boobs are here too. Have been getting faint and docs have picked up a heart murmur so going for an ECG next week to get checked out. I find eating little and often helps oh and forgot to say cucumber also helps me at the moment.

WeGotThere · 19/07/2011 19:03

Wow! Congratulations everyone, how exciting! Had one day away and so many more people. Lovely to have lots of people at similar stage to share.

Carlita, thanks for the list. I am 33 can't figure out how to copy and paste on at mo.

Had my docs app yesterday, he was lovely really happy for us. He weighed me, measured height, blood pressure and wittered on about foods etc... Got my midwife app on 8th August (would have been earlier but am off on hols in a week.)

On another note had some very light spotting yesterday which has stopped today but still having early scan on Friday to see if everything is ok. Fingers crossed.

Xxxx

WeGotThere · 19/07/2011 19:06

Yummy, haven't had any sickness (yet) but a friend mentioned eating ginger biscuits before even getting up in the morning so you don't move before you get your blood sugar up?

Hope it gets better, not looking forward to that particular side effect!

Xxx

Kayano · 19/07/2011 19:39

Have you girls thought.... If it is early 2012 is a leap year! Lol

VikingLady · 19/07/2011 20:40

Congrats to everyone here!

Number 1 due 27th March, which is our wedding anniversary (saves us thinking of anniversary presents!) and quite massively excited, but also terrified. Showing ALREADY very slightly (always have a big tummy when due on, so can't really be surprised), but need to keep it from most people. My business partner may walk if he finds out I'm pregnant, and I need him right now... And I want to tell everyone!

Slightly concerned that DH (is that the right abbr?) may pop if he's not allowed to tell people soon.

Feekerry I echo you. Does anyone know about freebies? Wink

Davinaaddict · 19/07/2011 20:40

Lots of sympathy for all you ladies suffering with 'morning' sickness - I've been lucky so far, and not actually been sick yet, but have much worse nausea than last time, so hoping it stays at that Confused The worst thing is lack of sleep because my lovely DS is not sleeping very well, so I feel constantly hung over without having had a drop of Wine :(

First app with my midwife tomorrow so fingers crossed she's as nice as my last one :) Dreading the weigh in though as I'm munching quite a lot on ginger biscuits!! Blush

As a last note for tonight, I got a text from a friend of mine that I thought I'd share, as it really made me smile, so here goes "Guess what.....Your're preggers, he he just in case you forgot!!!" My response was "you nutcase" Grin

Suprisedbuthappy · 19/07/2011 20:41

Hello! Found out yesterday that I am pregnant and according to these online calculators I am due 29th March. Planned but we didn't think it would happen so quickley!

Still very early days but had very sore boobies, feeling queasy and wierd pokey/pulling type pains so figured I'd test. Got a few negatives but then 2 positives on one of those that tells you approx how long since you conceived.

Worried and nervous, 12 weeks seems aaaages away!

feekerry · 19/07/2011 21:00

Re the freebies I have found asda and boots so some good ones if you sign up to various clubs. I'm pretty excited now. So far no sickness or sore boobs but my boobs are clearly showing thru my work clothes even tho i'm wearing a bra, which is embarrassing! Lol. X

Carlitawantsababy · 19/07/2011 21:11

Welcome vikinglady!
Thanks for doing that davina!
Lol re the leap year! Glad I didn't conceive last month in retrospect!

Bought myself a bumper bottle of cocoa butter earlier..think I'm going to need it considering someone gave me their seat on the tube this morning - at 4+4 Blush

Hi everyone, I've just graduated from the ttc a 2012 baby thread too.. Hi carlita think I'm due 27th march, not made an appt yet at the docs... Still can't quite believe it!!! Had to tell my mum yesterday as we were going out for a meal with her and some other friends and didn't want any remarks from her about me not drinking!!! Have also told my friend at work and another friend, think dp will tell his mum too.

Baby will be my 3rd and dps 1st.... Ds is 9 and dd is 8. Only 16 months between them so it will be nice just to have one baby on its own!!! Have been feeling nauseous but not physically sick, my boobs are like rocks, and have been very tired....

Am going to test again this morning, just to make sure...

babybrain3 · 20/07/2011 07:30

Loving the name of the thread too carlita well done! Xx

Davinaaddict · 20/07/2011 07:55

Morning ladies & welcome newbies! Have to say I'm feeling crappy today but off to see the midwife so very Smile about that! I wad wondering for those of you that have already had more 2 or more pregnancies, how different they were? I know everyone says every pregnancies different, as is every baby but I guess I didn't really believe it til now Blush. I was lucky enough to sail through my last pregnancy (although the traumatic labour made up for it Grin), but at only 6+5 I'm starting to wonder what I've let myself in for this time! Everything seems so much worse [feeling sorry for myself emoticon]. I know my symptoms are not as bad as a lot of other people's & I certainly don't mean to belittle anyone else, I'm just genuinely interested to hear others people's experiences. Smile

Carlitawantsababy · 20/07/2011 08:29

Hooray! Welcome babybrain! great to have you here! I have booked an appointment at the doctors for Tuesday afternoon, hoping that it will help it all seem more real! We had my mum and step dad here last weekend when we found out and dh felt it was just too early to tell (he was under the impression that there was a law that you couldn't tell anyone until 12 weeks, still trying to coax him away from the idea) I didn't have a drop to drink which is enormously out of character so assume they won't be too surprised when we tell them. Dh has agreed we can tell them when they're over in two weeks time and I wouldn't be surprised if my mum brings some baby related gifts 'just in case'! Grin
