Hello! I've just found out that I'm pregnant and due on the 23rd March! I'm 29 and live in London with my husband, dog and cat. So far at 4 weeks things are going very smoothly! I'm very excited about going to the doctor (even if they don't care) as feel it will make things more real!
If you're expecting in March too please join the thread and share a bit about yourself and how your pregnancy is going!

babybrain and pink, how big do the jojo ones come up? I have ordered a maternity/nursing bra (in 32 HH) to wear at night but the crop top may be more comfy, would it fit me?

I had sickness for a few days about 3 weeks ago and just a bit of queasiness since then, stupidly i thought ah looks like i am going to get away with morning sickness! Until this morning when i start heaving my guts up again - Lovely!

eaglewings · 26/07/2011 08:55

Bravisimo has great range of larger cup bras tops with hidden support and sleepwear with the same. Also no wire bras.

Moffit · 26/07/2011 09:32

I feel so sick this morning, trying to hide it at work is going to be tougher than I thought! I have already been to the bathroom twice, once to be sick and once just in case. Also I have a dull ache low down in my tummy and also in my back, if I didn't know any better it would feel like period pains, is this normal? Thanks ladies, hope you are all keeping well.

Carlitawantsababy · 26/07/2011 11:34

Thanks eagle their sleepwear comes up too small for me but they're my first port of call for daytime bras!
moffit I have had loads of cramping like period pains, it's your uterus stretching - a good sign! Grin

Moffit- I too feel quite sick today. Haven't been sick but been close. Had to abandon lunch today as wasn't agreeing with me!

NorthernGirlie · 26/07/2011 16:02

Hi ladies - so nice to see more people on here and read about everyobe elses experiences. Anyone had scans yet?? Feel like ours will never come - I'm 7+5 today but we're going away for a month on Friday so no midwife appointment untill we get back on the 19th - so scan will be after that (not sure how long it takes for the date to come through??)

I feel so bad for those of you who've really suffered with ms - I've been feeling sicky for a few weeks but have only actually thrown up 4 or 5 times so I'm very lucky. Anyone else feeling very bloated so early in?? My jeans are already tight (I'm a 14/16 so a bit of a chubby anyway!) and I'm now just washing and wearing one pair - I'm struggling to think about what on earth I'm going to wear on hols (just staying in England thankfully!) Also tried to buy a maternity bra today - usually get bras in Debenhams (I'm a 36gg normally) but they only go up to G instore - argh, popping out of all my bras!

Telling the folks this week (before we go away as we'll prob have to tell friends we're holidaying with - not drinking will give it away methinks) - I know my Mum will be ridiculously excited - lol ;)

Hope everyone's feeling ok

NG xx

Carlitawantsababy · 26/07/2011 17:38

Welcome NG! I found that the bras4mums website had an absolutely excellent range of sizes in maternity bras, you would definitely have no problem there! I am so bloated at 5+3 that my jeans are only just doing up so I know how you feel! How exciting that you are going to tell your mum, I'm telling mine on Saturday! Grin

I'm currently at the doctors by the way, appointment was supposed to be 25 mins ago but I am next now so hopefully will be seen by 6! I am sadly quite excited, I'll report back after the appointment, well, after the cinema, off to see bridesmaids with my sis straight after the appointment.

KikiRC · 26/07/2011 17:45

Thanks for all the responses re: maternity bras. I think I'll probably end up waiting until the time it's best not to wear an underwired one, unless I suddenly grow enormously!

Like many of you I'm also feeling quite bloated around my tummy. I'm quite thin usually (size 10) but finding most of my trousers a bit uncomfortable, and also tights. I think I'll end up buying extra large tights as long as possible, as the maternity ones seem to start at about £8 and I'll surely ladder them..! When is it usual to start showing properly? I'm not sure because I'm quite tall and thin, if I'll show earlier?

Have my first doctor's appointment tomorrow. I assume they'll just give me a bundle of leaflets and sign me up with the midwife?

X

knitterati · 26/07/2011 18:20

Hey can I join? I got a BFP last night (and this morning, just in case Wink )

I've got PCOS, so my cycles are a bit screwy, but think I'm due on March 17th!!

Still hasn't quite sunk in, but already v excited! Though I'd dearly love to give the sore boobs a miss. Have been feeling nauseas, but not real sickness yet thank goodness!!

feekerry · 26/07/2011 19:49

hi knitterati
congrats!!!
Carlitawantsababy hope it goes all right at docs- report back your findings!!
well today has not been a good day. felt really sick all day, culminating in throwing up several times this afternoon. really not a pleasant day at all

babybrain3 · 26/07/2011 21:07

carlita My Jojo bra top is medium and is quite spacious for me ATM I am usually a c/d so I guess the large one might be ok. I think they have free delivery too if I remember correctly, which is why I chose theirs rather than mothercares...

Hope the doctors went ok!!! I'm going tomorrow afternoon! I'm really excited too!!

Carlitawantsababy · 26/07/2011 23:21

Welcome knitterati! Thanks babybrain, sounds promising, I'll order one!
So, doctors appointment, she asked me if I was happy about the BFP, I told her yes, she filled out the self referral for hospital for me, asked me date of last period and took my blood pressure. She said congratulations and that it's lovely being a mum.
She did not tell me the due date, ask me how I was feeling, ask if I had had any pain or spotting, ask me if I was taking folic acid, ask me if I knew what foods to avoid, give me any leaflets... mmm
Anyway, I'm glad it's got the ball rolling and can't wait for the hospital letter! Smile

Grrr I keep waking up at the crack of Dawn.... :(

babybrain3 · 27/07/2011 06:53

knitterati out of interest, do you knit??

eaglewings · 27/07/2011 07:58

For those mum's to be who have tight waist bands, have you tried using a hair elastic (pony tail band) looped through the button hole and then both ends on the button?

If this is still too tight you can loop it through itself once through the bottom hole and just put one end over the button

knitterati · 27/07/2011 08:10

Hi babybrain!

Yes - I do knit, although I'm a very slow knitter, so if I want to do anything for the baby, I best get started now!! Grin

How about you? Are you a knitter too?

Davinaaddict · 27/07/2011 09:19

Hi ladies & welcome to all the newbies! It's fab to see so many ladies joining Smile

Well I've been MIA for a few days, so had loads to catch up on!!Smile Sorry to all those suffering & congratulations to those recent joiners Grin

I've had a weird few days - fantastic day at the races on Saturday, but I think it was too much for me really, as I was exhausted on Sunday Sad. But then had a family 40th birthday lunch to go to - didn't get the opportunity to tell people & didn't want to make a point telly cos I didn't think it was fair to the birthday girl. But as I wasn't drinking, plus was wearing a maxi dress, I think it will have been obvious anyway Grin But no-one said anything so neither did we Smile

So was supposed to be having a rest day on Monday but had a rough night with DS1 & was expecting the decorators, so I got up & dressed at 8.30, only for decorators to turn up at half 10 round about the same time DS1 finally roused from his bed Angry. Could have REALLY done with the extra couple of hours sleep!!! So then cos I was SOOOO knackered I missed Zumba - no exercise for me this week Sad

I was dreading work yesterday cos I'd been feeling really sick, and I had to catch the train to London with my boss. As I've not told the family yet, I'm not ready to tell my boss just yet! Luckily I felt loads better yesterday so managed to hide it Grin

Today I'm 'working' from home so sat in my joggers & vest & feel very comfy Grin so apologies for the essay - as you can tell, pregnancy also increases my procrastinating Grin

Hope all you lovely ladies are feeling fantastic today!Grin

babybrain3 · 27/07/2011 09:42

Yes Knitterati, ive been knitting baby booties fior a while and selling them on Folksy!!! I'm giving that a rest now and going to start knitting for my own!! hehehe, I'm going to get the wool today and start on an adorable all in one bear suit!! It's so exciting, going to John Lewis to get it, so i might just have a sneaky peak at the baby section!!! Then ive got my first appt @ docs this afternoon> So much excitement in one day, i might just explode!!! :o

zebedeethezebra · 27/07/2011 14:28

Hi there

I've been lurking for a while, not wanting to tempt fate by joining this thread.

I'm 5 weeks today and this will be my second. I'm 44 (45 in Jan) so I know my odds are rubbish. I had a MC last November. Due at end of March, if I make it!

DS is 18 months so I'm hoping my body can do it again! Got all the usual symptoms (which I didn't have when I had the MC) so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I seem to have put on 1.5 pounds already, just when I had finally got back to my previous pre-pregnancy weight!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have another MC. I'm expecting it to be honest and taking each day at a time. However its horribly upsetting to have a MC and not looking forward to that again!

I haven't told anyone yet, other than DP of course, and have no intention of doing so for a while. I may wait another 2 or 3 weeks before going to the docs to book in.

Hope the rest of you are keeping well.

Davinaaddict · 27/07/2011 16:01

Hi zebedee - welcome to the thread & congratulations. So sorry to hear about your previous MC. Sounds like things are mire promising this time round so fingers crossed for a sticky bean! My DS is also 18 mo so we'll have a similar age gap - I'm hoping the terrible 2's don't kick in just when DC2 arrives Grin. But knowing Mr Sod's Law it probably will!

babybrain3 · 27/07/2011 17:08

Just got back from the docs, she was really nice, gave me loads to read, she said it's probably best to read up as it's 8 years since I last had a baby and loads will have changed... That's a bit scary!!! She said the midwife will call me to arrange am appt but that is usually at about 8weeks, so bit of a wait for me!!

Went to get the wool and they were sold out Grrr!! 

feekerry · 27/07/2011 17:44

hi zebedeethezebra
have everything crossed for you that it works out this time.

I feel alot better today sickness wise. seem to have one good day then one rubbise day as you said Davinaaddict

shortlady · 27/07/2011 20:38

Hi there
when people say 5+3, does that mean 5 weeks and 3 days?
If so I think I am 5+1. Starting to feel sick, in the evenings so far, not the morning. Few cramps, but otherwise not so bad. Going to have to ditch tight trousers as tummy quite sore.
