Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

Not at all cheeky! We all pay our taxes so go for both scans!!

pixelpeeper · 06/07/2011 15:58

got my GP referral tomorrow. What's everyone else doing?

ShaggingProducesResults · 06/07/2011 16:24

Where is everyone else?!?!
I'm stuck at work for another 30 mins - so tired I think I may well fall asleep as soon as I sit down on the train! So much for my plans of a gentle run this evening......

pommedechocolat · 06/07/2011 16:39

I haven't bothered with GP yet as saw consultant and have early scan booked for next week (which is a big worry as I won't be even quite six weeks (5+5) so if they can't see anything because it's so early I know I'll get very anxious).

Will do GP after that I think.

Am still utterly utterly exhausted. Currently on my third babybel so I'm going to say cheese cravings too.

I'd say go to any and all scans Reallea!

ShaggingProducesResults · 06/07/2011 16:56

Cheese and mango chutney. Mmmmmmm that's my supper sorted then :)

Hope everything goes well with your scan next week FX

stuffthenonsense · 06/07/2011 19:51

wow, lots has happened!
broody hens i tend to dunk in cold water, they dont like it but eventually they cool down enough to stop being broody, (or so i am told) we are getting 2 eggs a day from our 8 hens, but they are all really young.

aagh! about the cleaner! i would speak to the agency, they should have vetted her before they employed her and they should have insurance too, which ought to pay for your replacement locks.

i am feeling tight in trousers too-have started to show earlier with each baby so dread to think when it will be this time.

no cravings at all...yet....has previously ranged from teacakes to satsumas, so lets see.

i still havent spoken to gp either. the hospital website says go through gp for booking in, but i picked up a little card from the childrens centre produced by the midwifery team, the card says to phone and book direct....which should i do?

Reallea · 06/07/2011 22:18

Phone them and see what they say. Where I live it's gp first who books the scan, then arrange booking in visit direct with midwives.

So I saw the gp and he didn't mention the old scan so I am still umm ing and ahhhhing but I have a few weeks to make up my mind. He did have a good old feel in case I hadn't actually had mc last time round but can't feel anything so says it makes sense that this is a fresh pregnancy. Could always go for scan to 'rule that out'!. Basically just want to see a heartbeat!

ShaggingProducesResults · 07/07/2011 09:18

Argh! My boobs hurt so much! I had to put on a yoga bra in bed last night and even in a well supported bra today they are so painful!! Any tips?

Glad to hear your GP appointment went well Reallea

stuffthenonsense · 07/07/2011 09:34

i have a gp appointment at 11 today Grin

i am still feeling nervous about potential disaster with this baby!!! why the hell cant i just settle? i am still doing tests and the hcg levels are clearly rising, positive words anyone?...pleeease!!!

shagging i always found that pressing helped but its hard to do in public

ShaggingProducesResults · 07/07/2011 10:59

I think it's totally normal to be worried and so try not think about it too much....... easier said then done!! I've also done a few more tests but am now banning myself from them! I guess as long as I'm falling asleep whenever I sit down, feeling like I could vom at any moment and have boobs on fire then it's all going ok!!

I tried pressing them (in the privacy of the work loos) but that doesn;t seem to help!!!

MrsCog · 07/07/2011 18:09

Hi everyone, been busy and tired. GP appointment tomorrow - does anyone know when you find out when the 12 week scan will be? Does the GP send off for an appointment?

Had an awkward one at work today - an activity day which included quad biking - discussed with dh first and he wasn't happy about me doing it (I'm sure it was minimal risk but I just had that constant 'what if' going around my head) and so I didn't do it, but I know my line manager has clocked this and will question why I didn't do it - normally I'd be well up for something like that. Need to think of some good reasons!

I too have banned myself from further tests seeing as the last one I did on Monday, the BFP line came up before the control line and was darker! I decided that it was time to stop!

Reallea · 07/07/2011 18:36

Oh arse... Think DS has got chicken pox... At least I have had it so don't have the 'exposed in early pregnancy' worry.

My scans have been sent by the hospital once GP fills in a request form.... Last month it took about 10-14 days.

stuffthenonsense · 07/07/2011 19:21

Mrscog I saw gp today, was given code numbers and passwords and told to phone hospital myself to make appointments. My booking in and scan is 30th august. Seems so far away.....

Aaagh about the chicken pox! Hope its not too bad.

pixelpeeper · 08/07/2011 08:05

I am dying
morning sickness along with the worlds worst cold
somebody please put me out of my misery

stuffthenonsense · 08/07/2011 10:32

Oh pixel poor you. I am just heading out of a 10 day cold. Just left with a hideous cough now.
The nausea this morning almost led to vomitting so it won't be long now (sigh) still...I see it as a good sign.
I told my teenage DDs this morning. They are very happy...one has even facebooked the news, so that's not a secret anymore. Never mind.

ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 11:08

It seems everybody is suffering with the morning sickness today! I've been very close to throwing up twice this morning already and my boss just sent me to get lucozade as I look so dreadful! I mumbled something about "feeling a bit peaky" but it's hard to hide isn't it?!?! luckily a colleague has had a stomach bug this week so everybody thinks I've got that too!

I usually get the train into work but drive on Fridays so I can do the weekly shop. Today I came prepared and put a pillow and blanket in the car so I can sneak off at lunchtime for a nap!!!

ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 11:13

pixel - is this your 1st?
Stuff - lovely that your DDs are so happy for you..... :)

ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 11:17

Strange.... jsut had a message from my DSis saying that she dreampt that I was pregnant last night.........

I'm seeing her tomorrow and she's the first family member I'll have told... She is going to be VERY excited!!!

pixelpeeper · 08/07/2011 11:58

ooh so some of you are sharing the news then?

Shagging - this is number 3. I have DS1 just turned 4, and DS2 who is 2 next month.

I have told 2 of my friends - that's it!

ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 12:11

Yeah - I'm sort of without a choice as DSis is coming to stay and we usually have a wine and cocktail binge have a few drinks so I know she'll guess if I sip at 1/2 a glass of wine and then drink soft drinks!!!

She's been asking when we're going to make her an auntie for ages so she will be delighted.

Seeing my parents the week after (we're not an alcoholic family but I don;t think I've ever turned down a G&T/glass of wine etc so we'll be telling them next weekend (before they work it our for themselves!! Just hope DSis can keep it to herself for a week!!!

nice age gaps pixel... how are you feeling?

pixelpeeper · 08/07/2011 12:42

a bit better, a jacket potato helped Grin

I really should by clearing the garden but I can't be arsed.

ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 14:09

Good call. I've managed a bottle of Lucozade, a piece of cheese and a few crisps. That and an hour relaxing in my car Grin has made me feel a bit less grim.

Got to try and work out what on earth I can face eating tonight.... joy!

Reallea · 08/07/2011 14:24

Off to docs to take DS to get checked for chicken pox.... Looking like it is tho- DH looked after him this morning and his childminder kindly had him for middle of the day when all her other charges are at school- and have now come home from work myself. Anyway her 3 kids all had chicken pox so she has a good idea of what they look like and she is pretty sure it is chicken pox... Also another girl she looks after got diagnosed exactly 2 weeks ago yesterday and she'd been giving DS lots of kisses the day before....

Reallea · 08/07/2011 14:30

I have told about half a dozen people plus immediate family- M&FIL, DM, DD, DB and SIL. They just had their 2nd 7 weeks ago and their 1st is 2 so we will have a great little troup of cousins for grandparents to enjoy.

Binky55 · 08/07/2011 15:51

No morning sickness here yet! Felt a bit groggy yesterday but have had a dodgy tum for a couple of days (sorry tmi). Still have not told anyone, I doesn't feel real atm. I guess because I'm pre-occupied with ds1 I haven't been thinking about it as much as I did with him. Feeling really bloated though, already gone up a Jean size for comfort!

Going out with 2 friends tomorrow and I'm expected to drink so might have to tell them but don't really want them to be the first to know. Not sure I'm ready to tell anyone just yet, is that odd or normal for 2nd pregnancy???
