Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

pommedechocolat · 03/07/2011 18:19

Urgh. I hate them. I always feel like my face shows the clenching.

ShaggingWithIntent · 03/07/2011 19:16

Mine is to keep up with the healthy eating and exercise and not use it as an excuse to pig out.............! We'll see how long that lasts :)

I love fruit pastill lollies. Pretty sure Sainsbury's sell them too. No cravings as such here but I've got a new obsession with tomatoes!!!

allhailtheaubergine · 03/07/2011 19:21

Yes, I know they say you can do them on the bus but I worry if I did the other passengers might think I was having a poo.

I do mine when I do my work out which isn't often enough. You're supposed to do them 5 times a day.

Squeeeeeeeeze...2 ...3 ...4

pommedechocolat · 03/07/2011 19:58

I have milk cravings. Was red meat with dd - I seem to operate on a basic animal fat level!
I think my resolution is more mental than physical - I'm going to stop getting stressed and be zen.

MrsCog · 03/07/2011 21:01

First pg resolution is to get some FP lollies tomorrow!

Second one is to keep up with the exercise. I'm finding it hard to decide what to do as only 12 weeks ago I was running 20 miles a week. However, due to a holiday and some tough times at work and a semi nervous breakdown, it's all but stopped and pre BFP I was doing some walk running every few days. I'm thinking of trying to do a walk of an hour or a walk run of slightly less time each day - do you think this is enough. It just doesn't seem like quite the right time to go back to long distance running properly when I haven't done any decent runs for 3 months.

Reallea · 03/07/2011 22:35

Mrs cog be careful with the running if you have had a break from it.... I was running about the same till I went back to work full time in feb, and just haven't found the time since- except for a run at the end of may. I know they say there are so many reasons people mc but I know it in my core that the reason last months didn't stick was because the early pregnancy hormones were racing round me and saying 'you feel great- go for a run!'- when i hadnt done anything for 3 months....And fool that I was, I went out for an 8k run. So so so so so so stupid. 2 days later my body was pretty achy all over and I started to bleed...

I have no idea why i was so blase- maybe because i felt like i'd been almost too careful when pregnant with DS, and went from running about 30 miles a week to basically nothing. I wanted to run but I bought a heart rate monitor because i read that whilst pregnant you can't get the rate above 140. I was careful not to let it get above that but found I couldn't run and keep it below 140 so I kind of gave up. I did still need to do something because I'm the kind of person who needs to be on the go alot and was pretty fit at the time so instead I took up swimming (I used to do triathlons so I swim run and cycle) and went almost daily. I was swimming 64lenghts a time which is a mile so still a really good workout and carried it on right until the day before I had DS! unfortunately I did still put on silly amounts of weight though but have lost most of it.

Pomme, I was crazy for milk with DS and also last month but not at all this time round, maybe you're having DS and me a DD..... With DS it was also cheddar cheese sandwiches which I washed down with crusha milkshake

allhailtheaubergine · 04/07/2011 05:47

I am craving meat which is awkward as I have been veggie for over 20 years.

Mmmm roast pork and apple sauce sandwich. (I don't think I have ever had this in my life)

Bacon and ketchup sandwich. Yum. I imagine.

Boobz · 04/07/2011 07:16

Right, trying again.

Shagging - what does FF mean? I don't think it can mean what I think it does.

Stuffthenonsense - how many HBs have you had then? You should come and join us on the homebirther thread - I'm having to build it up again but it was pretty busy when I had my last one at home..

What have you called the guineapigs pixel? We have to 2 mental dogs; I wish we had guineapigs and chickens instead.

I am craving Coke. It's 51 degrees today (and still only 9:17am) and I am so thirsty, but I'm one of those weird people who doesn't like drinking water.

Pomme I'm still waiting for your interesting factoid. And everyone's for that matter.

ShaggingWithIntent · 04/07/2011 08:44

Morning All!

FF is Fertility friend (website for those obsessive about TTC and analysing every possible sign in the 2WW) not proud of my addiction to it over the last 2 months but it got me the result I wanted so can't complain!!!

Did another CBD this morning as am off to the Drs this afternoon and this one came up with the "Pregnant" bit almost instantly and then "2-3 weeks" so it looks like we're heading in the right direction!

Feeling quite ropey this morning and actually gagged when I was brushing my teeth! Have had to arm myself with a bottle of Lucozade and hopefully I'll get through the morning without throwing up at my desk or falling asleep on it!

MrsCog & Reallea I'm also keen to keep up exercise whilst PG but not sure how. I ran a half marathon in March and haven't done a huge amount of running since. Do you think a gentle 5k jog would be ok a couple of times a week? I also do a weekly yoga class so am planning on continuing with that (but I guess I'll have to tell my teacher so she can make sure I don't do any poses I shouldn't)

pixelpeeper · 04/07/2011 08:56

boobz the pigs are called Trouble and Strife. They are GORGEOUS. Chickens are called Vera (friendly and cheeky) Jordan (glamour girl) Jodie (broody glamour girl) Daisy (her breed is a daisybelle) Blue (her breed is a bluebelle) and I have 3 chicks to collect in september, called Omelette, Scramble and Pancake.

Another way to remember me is I am a photographer, hence the name Grin

Sorry to everyone feeling ropey, it's usually a good sign though!

Apart from a BFP I have zero signs which is worrying as I had a horrible, horrible mc last year.

ShaggingWithIntent · 04/07/2011 09:27

Loving the names....... pixel :) I bet it's really worrying when you don't have many symptoms but all the books I've read say that the sickness etc doesn't kick in until 6 weeks so maybe you are textbook and I'm odd!

stuffthenonsense · 04/07/2011 09:53

Boobz, I have had 2 homebirths (the first of which was 11lbs!!!!) But then my smallest baby so far was 8lb4oz. DD4 was to be a home baby but in fact scans showed meconium at 18 days past due so induction followed, with a meconium aspirate baby who was very sick in scbu for 10 days-a total nightmare, we were so very lucky she survived. And she is gorgeous.

I tend to feel nauseous until about 7weeks- then I just throw up all day until delivery-such fun! Especially when the heartburn kicks in.

And I have to tell yoyu all----my already-big-because-im-breastfeeding boobs have increased seemingly overnight by. TWO INCHES!!!!!

Anyone else got any physical changes???

pommedechocolat · 04/07/2011 10:09

Boobs and belly both seem to be getting a bit bigger I think.
Still totally shattered but no nausea yet which is good and worrying in equal measures!

ShaggingProducesResults · 04/07/2011 10:31

Other than the exhaustion, nausea (but no throwing up yet - thank God!) and very sensetive boobs I don't think I've got anything else.

Did get DH to get my bigger bras out of the loft yesterday (archived thanks to exercise related weight loss) though as I think I'm getting a bit bigger already. Quite scary as I'm already quite ample in the nork department and if they get much bigger I'll look like a cartoon character!

stuff an 11lb homebirth....?!! That is incredibly impressive! I will be heading for hospital and as many drugs as I need

Reallea · 04/07/2011 11:07

Stuff, I am so impressed, 11lb! Mum had both bro and I at home, which wasn't common for 1973 and 1975. As a result I was really keen but saw on scans that size of DS's head was off the scale so I wanted epidural option. In the end it didnt work and they went in with forceps and no pain relief!

Boobz.... I am a biology teacher in a boys' secondary school. Have to teach human reproduction at a level which means I get obsessed with finding out everything that is happening at every stage of development!

Yesterday my got car got broken into and they stole my husbands iPad... Nothing else, except my bag of makeup! Am furious! Going to cost about £200 to replace everything in the bag and I don't have receipts to give the insurance company...

pixelpeeper · 04/07/2011 15:51

SO.

How come some due date calculator sites say I am 4 weeks, and others say 5?
WTF?

Binky55 · 04/07/2011 16:30

I have no symptoms at the moment apart from feeling tired but that could be due to my ds waking up at 5.30am for the past week! Didn't have sickness last time until week 6, so not looking forward to that while looking after ds! Feeling a bit bloated but not sure if that's down to over indulging just a little Blush Last time my craving was cake so I'm going to try my best to eat healthily and be active as I'm dreading putting on weight again!

Purplebuns · 04/07/2011 19:56

Hello, I am tentatively joining you... I am due about 10th March by my best guess.
I say tentatively as I have had a chem pregnancy in April, and a mc in Oct so feel my fingers are a bit burned. However, if I left it until I am comfortable I will probably be 20 weeks! Wink
Hmmm symptoms; I have an aversion to cucumber especially the smell, my boobs are painful and I had been really looking forward to my bangers and mash for dinner yesterday and couldn't eat my mash as it tasted horrible! :( AND I am shattered!
This will be dc2 for me all being well :)

MrsCog · 04/07/2011 21:18

Hi, no massive symptoms yet, but I generally have uncontrollable fatigue between 9am and 12pm, and new veins have appeared on my almost porn star round boobs! The other main thing I've noticed is being really really thirsty.

Still want a fruit pastille lolly - DH has promised to get me some tomorrow.

4+2... still counting each hour off in case something goes wrong! Do you all find that as well as the big 12 week milestone, you've got lots of others in your head too? My next one will be Thurs as AF will be a complete week late then, then Friday afternoon for my DRs appt, then Sat will be 5 weeks! Then I'll need some new ones - I suppose 6 weeks will be a good one as it's half way to the magic 12 weeks.....I'm going to tire myself out at this rate!

pixelpeeper · 04/07/2011 21:52

Welcome purplebuns, you're in the right place :)
Sorry to hear about mc... I know how you feel.

Purplebuns · 04/07/2011 21:58

Thanks Pixel, fingers crossed this one will go ok, and for all of us :)

stuffthenonsense · 05/07/2011 03:40

Mrscog- yes I too have mini miletones eg today would be first day of AF and I am so worried! Have just got up and done THREE! Different tests. How many positives do I need before I accept it as real??
Could really do with some encouragement right now.

For those who, like me, tested very early, how on earth did you got through today????

Reallea · 05/07/2011 04:47

Only by staying so busy that it diverted my mind but I still thought about it hourly! I see you're up at silly o'clock as well. DS just woke me by coughing in his sleep down the monitor. Whereas that would hardly ever make me stir I'm suddenly wide awake and things are racing though my mind and can't get back to sleep. So I guess maybe that is a symptom! I dont ordinarily suffer from anxiety but this is not fun.... Actually DH did say I have been a bit of a stresss head just lately.

stuffthenonsense · 05/07/2011 05:19

Yep, DD woke me too, and now I can't get back to sleep. And I will be tired all day then. Its no fun sitting watching other people sleep.

ShaggingProducesResults · 05/07/2011 08:41

I haven't really thought about mini-milestones. For me it's more that everytime I go to the loo I check that I haven't started bleeding. I think that until I see then scan I won't believe that it's really happening (although the sickness and exhaustion is certainly helping remind me!!!)
