babydust27 · 28/06/2011 19:28

Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

OP posts:

BitsyVonMuffling · 08/07/2011 16:04

Creeping in here. I had a ver faint positive last night followed by a not so faint positive today. AF not due til tomorrow and none of it has sunk in. Am I the only one on a downer? I feel I should be happier, or just believe the result, but I can't seem to get my head around it. It wil be a very much planned number 3 for us.

MrsCog · 08/07/2011 17:12

Just got back from GP who was very helpful and nice, EDD = 9th March.

I realised that I got my dates slightly muddled so I'm actually 5 weeks today, started to feel slightly sick - and very travel sick on the way home from work even though I was driving!!

I have told two friends and no one else. Want to hold on as long as possible, not sure how long I can hold out with my Mum, Dad and Sister though.... hoping to go to 6 weeks at least!

pommedechocolat · 08/07/2011 17:15

I have no morning sickness yet. Very bloated, very tired, enormous knockers and obsessed with cheese and milk.
Still, doesn't feel real without the queasiness! I have a scan next week so hoping that will put me at ease a bit more.
I kinda feel what you're saying Bitsy by the way. Feel like I can't quite trust it all yet and get properly excited. Not sure why I feel like this, didn't with dd.

Reallea · 08/07/2011 20:35

I felt nauseous a bit but nothing as yet. I found when pg with DS, crystallised ginger sorted it out for me so I shall be buying some in for when it does kick in. I am lucky to get it quite mildly but I know what you mean with the travel sickness mrscog!

Know what you guys mean about being apprehensive, I definitely feel different this time round but I thought it was because of last month. I thought I would tell no one but it turns out I can't keep secrets

Docs have confirmed chicken pox so I now have to be a hermit for the next week or so! Lucky DH will be able to do some childcare and I will be able to go to work

ZhenXiang · 08/07/2011 23:50

Hey everyone, another one here with the morning sickness except in my case it is morning and evening plus all day nausea. Not great when you have to stand in front of 30 kids all day long and teach!

6 weeks today :)

Will be doing the same as you Reallea and buying ginger had ginger tablets with DD, they really helped. Sorry to hear about DS's chicken pox.

Have managed to get apppointment with docs on Weds after one this week was cancelled after GP failed to turn up for work!

sudocremdelacreme · 09/07/2011 19:11

Think I'm just about brave enough to join this thread, if that's OK with you all?! Got a very very faint BFP on Tuesday PM. I tested on Weds morning to make sure, but the line was lighter, which got me all worried something was wrong etc... Tested again this morning and it's a definite strong BFP.

I've had waves of nausea, which is usually worse at night, and am also eating lots of cheese, which i don't really like normally. My boobs are already getting bigger and I'm sure my stomach is bigger, but this could just be bloat belly.

I have one DS who is 21 months and should be due around March 14th. Eek! Now if only these 7 weeks or so could pass very quickly, that would be lovely.

LittleBumbleBee · 10/07/2011 08:01

hi everyone, had 2 positive tests last week and acording to gp am due on march 7th.
huge increase of appitite gave it away really and hightened sense of smell! having constant back ache and tummy pain for week and half just like when im due on my period and some sharper pains down one side (which ive had b4 pregnancy) could be a cyst.
im soooo happy i could burst but soooo worried and parinoid i could cry !!!

Reallea · 10/07/2011 08:47

Welcome bitsyvonmuffling sudocremdelacreme and littlebumblebee.

Ok so here's the conundrum.... The first years of your child's life rush by, right? But the nine months of pregnancy drag sooooooo slow! So how's it going to feel when you are doing both? It certainly feels like the last two weeks have lasted a month already......

BitsyVonMuffling · 10/07/2011 09:57

I found my pregnancy with dc2 passed almost unnoticed, which feels awful to say! I just didn't have the time to sit and relax and think about the pregnancy in the same way did with dd. BUT those last few weeks are surely the longest of your life. I have gone 13 days over with both, so I think I have developed something of a depressing pattern.
Even more depressing is the realisation that dd breaks up from school in 2 weeks, and I have 6 weeks ahead of us that I'm predicting will be full of morning sickness. WIth dd I was pretty much immobile with it, it was just horrendous, but with ds it wasn't so bad, I don't think I ever was actually sick, just felt pretty nauseous. The joys! This one will have pretty much the same age gap as before (almost 4 years) and it's made me realise just how grown up my 2 are, though ds seems so much younger to me than dd did at the same time. Once baby is here, no doubt he'll seem a huge monster though :)
I've tested again this morning and am now obsessing that the line's not getting darker, so I still have my doubts it's actually real iyswim? And yet already all I can think about is being pregnant. Am going to order another pack of cheapies, as well as getting a 'proper', wallet-crippling test today and doing it with dp. I've told him I think I 'might be' and he's over the moon :)

pommedechocolat · 10/07/2011 10:11

I didnt relax until I got 2-3 weeks on a cb digi BVM! Glad your dh is so happy.
I am feeling short of breath, faint and crampy today. Think the cramps are mainly wind but worrying about breathlessness as have history of blood clots...

mamaof1wantno2now · 10/07/2011 11:36

hi hope everyone is well, i am due on the 11th march with my second child although this is my 10th pregnancy so am hoping this baby sticks, on the up side i feel fab with only mild nausea but am very tired all the time,my dd is 2 & half. with dd i had morning sickness every day & nite throughout the pregnancy could hardly move at times,
i had internet strip test that never showed a bfp but did clearblue digital test that came up pregnant, have seen the doctor last week gave me my edd of 11th march, i have my appointment for scan and midwife at the end of august,

BitsyVonMuffling · 10/07/2011 18:43

I love that this thread is here for me to obsess on. I had a day of respite from the cramps yesterday but now at just 4+1 they're back with a vengeance :( I just have a bad feeling about this pg that hasn't been there with the previous 2. I hope I'm being silly, so am off to mope in my little corner of doom Hmm

stuffthenonsense · 10/07/2011 19:12

Hi to all the newcomers!

I am slowly stopping the obsession about daily testing, I guess when the test line is almost black before the control line appears I can relax a little lol.

But then, my tummy is growing!!!! But being no5 I was expecting anearly show,
And as for breastfeeding whilst pregnant-i have hollywood cleavage lol

I'm on my mobile so can't update but can the next person who is able, pleaase update the stats.

Hi everyone! Got my Bfp yesterday (had some really faint ones for a few days before that but I didn't trust them), have started getting symptoms today, mainly just exhausted and leg cramps which I didn't get this early in first preg, so far no sickness so hope it stays that way, with my first I had really bad vomiting from very early. I have a son who turned one at the end of May so will have an age gap of around 22 months.

stuffthenonsense I've also given up daily testing now the bfp line shows up before the control line!

Slight change to the stats as my due date was one day earlier than I thought!

sudocremdelacreme · 10/07/2011 21:49

mrscog I seem much worse in the evening too.

I had to get out of bed to be sick at about 2am after laying in bed with the room spinning for hours. I had nausea in my first pregnancy but nothing like this and was never sick. I am sipping on a ginger tea to avoid a repeat performance tonight. I have to go on a short ferry ride tomorrow too, which could be interesting! Going on a family holiday for a few days which will hopefully help to take my mind off stuff.

Hope everyone is not feeling too rubbish.

ShaggingProducesResults · 11/07/2011 12:38

welcome to all the newcomers!!

MrsCog - my body doesn't seem to differentiate between morning and evening so I have a permanent feeling of sickness!! Keep on telling myself that it's a good sign and it's so worth it for the end result. Haven't gone in to work today though as I felt really nauseous and faint when I got up this morning and couldn't face the commute followed by 9 hours in a hot office!!

Quite enjoying lazing around watching TV but it'd be a whole lot better if I didn't have a thumping headache and feel sick every time I move!

I'm finding it so frustrating that my body just doesn't seem to be able to keep up with my usual day to day life as well as look after the bean...... especially as it seems so early to be feeling as shattered and rough as I do!!

Wingdingdong · 11/07/2011 16:15

Hi all, may I join you? I won't be the most prolific poster but it would be nice to be able to drop in occasionally!

This is my 5th pregnancy, I have one DD who's 2 at the end of this month. EDD based on ovulation (irregular/long cycles) is 2nd March. I had an early scan on Saturday; the fetal pole measured a day ahead and there was a heartbeat, so I'm feeling a little more confident than I was on Friday. Still not intending to tell anyone for a very long time though. Generally we only tell our parents about the pregnancies as I'm in A&E with a miscarriage, so we thought this time if it works out we'll wait for them to notice, in the knowledge they'll be far too polite to say anything for ages Grin.

Also feeling really sick, which is new for me - didn't get this even with DD (just 18 weeks of bleeding with her!). I had one week of bleeding early on but it resolved itself and no sign of the cause on the scan. I'm totally exhausted, too, which is a shame since DD isn't...

MrsCog · 11/07/2011 19:02

The fruit lolly craving has morphed in to an unquenchable desire for salt. But I've also felt more sick today than any day so far.... I'm 5+3 so I guess it figures it's getting worse. Welcome wingding :)

ZhenXiang · 11/07/2011 19:43

Welcome to all newcomers.

I've got the evening sickness too, seem to have cracked morning at the moment by picking what I eat for breakfast (toast and cheese mainly).

All acidic foods are a no go for me. I am regretting eating salsa with my dinner as had to rush to the loo to be sick in the middle of DD's bedtime story!

NorthernGirlie · 12/07/2011 08:08

Hello - can I come play?? I'm about 5+5, with my first! Off to the doctors tomorrow for my first appointment - dreading it as I hate doctors (not sure why, no bad experience etc...) Very excited and desperately want to tell everyone but we're trying to wait!! Think it's the hardest bit!

Anyone else got seriously sore boobs?? Ouch - the second I take my bra off I feel like I've got lead weigts hanging from them!!

Hope all the sicky sufferers are feeling better - only thrown up twice so far but am feeling sick a lot! NG xx

withoutanet · 12/07/2011 12:09

Hello ladies,

I've already got a seat on the February Bus, but the early scan we had on Sunday suggests that I'm 2 weeks earlier than we thought which bumps my due date back to March 4th. Next scan is on August 12 and will hopefully get clear measurements for our EDD. In the meanwhile I thought I'd slip into a seat over here, pass around the ginger biscuits and get to know you.

To satisfy Boobz request for nuggest of info...umm...I'm 37. This is my 1st baby and DP's 2nd (DSS, 7). And my favourite sandwich is wheat bread, peanut butter and dill pickle. Yum.

withoutanet · 12/07/2011 12:11

And, yes, 'nuggest' was meant to read 'nuggets'...silly phone.

Jezzabell · 12/07/2011 12:56

Hello all

can i join please. I am 5+3 with my first pregnancy. Doc estimates I am due on 12th March. I've got my booking appoinment on 3rd August and excited about that. Was a bit of a surprise as it was the first time we tried. So fingers crossed it all goes ok. I've not been feeling too bad, a bit tired and slight nausea plus had af like cramps from about 10 dpo but they are easing off a bit now.

Very excited but quite happy keeping it to ourselves for a bit although my sis knows and she is about 5 weeks ahead (although in Australia so we have to talk babies on the phone!). It's all new to me so will be nice to chat to people in the same boat.

pixelpeeper I love chickens. My parents have 5 and I can't wait until we can move somewhere a bit more rural so we can get a couple. They're such funny creatures, I can watch them for ages!
