Snagging last time I lived in h and m stuff but this time they ALL had over the bump bands which I don't do - plus I noticed loads of the bands looked nylon - cue itchy bump!! These IO are supposed to be skinny leg - nervous tbh as you never can tell with eBay !

Hi everyone. I had my 12 week scan yesterday and I am due on the 28 March 2012. It's my first baby and I am mix of crazy emotions and mood swings.
Was also told yesterday that I tested postive as a Thalassaemia carrier so they tested my DH also, am petrified about the results :(

ShaggingProducesResults · 20/09/2011 12:11

Welcome Saj. I really hope that the results of the tests come back ok. It must be such a worryig time having to wait for them.

It's super quiet on here at the moment. Maybe everybody is starting to feel better and isn't tied to their computers!!

ILoveMyDragon · 20/09/2011 14:57

Hey guys!
Welcome Saj,

Tis very quiet! Wish I could get on here on my phone properly would be much more active!! Not that I have much to say!

Feelin very fat but a lot more bumpy in my maternity jeans!! Altho im sure thats cos I've convinced myself I am bumpy other ppl who see me are prob walkin round going oh my look look at that fat bird !!

I am feeling exceptionally tired again atm and off food which doesn't help, my taste buds are all skewiff and everything tastes wierd!
I'm supposed to be writin an essay but I really can't concentrate on anything atm ugh!!!!

NotFromConcentrate · 20/09/2011 15:20

Hi everyone, and welcome Saj

It is quiet in March, isn't it? I've been going between here and the 'Brewing A MArch Baby' thread, and we seem fairly thin on the ground. Thought I might have killed t'other thread forever last night after my mammoth whinge-fest Blush

Seems like most of us have bumbled on into the second trimester feeling tired and fat. My memories of previous preganncies must be very selective because I don't even remember feeling this tired in my entire life! Would love Wine but will settle for Brew instead. Anyone joining me? :)

ILoveMyDragon · 20/09/2011 15:37

Brew sounds good to me....notfromconcentrate!

Bizarrely enough I am not a drinker at all normally but have been craving baileys the last few weeks!! Guess its the whole now i can't have it u want it rubbish!

KittyRogue · 20/09/2011 17:39

hello ladies! I m still here, just not had any news other than feeling fat and tired!

However I have an "was I being unreasonable" for you all to mull over...

This has JUST happened so bear with me if my thoughts aren't straight.

I decided to leave work a little early today and catch and earlier bus as a treat.
Was walking quickly down the street and an older (40's or 50's) lady was also walking fast and had a carrier bag which was swinging beside her. The street has lots of bikes propped up against the walls and is quite busy, but she managed to walk past one bike, hit it with her bag so it landed on me! I swear she clocked what she did too! OUCH! it might be that im very tired today and so moody but I was not a happy bunny!

So I managed to catch up with her and said in a nice tone not shouting, swearing or anything "In future please (note the please) can you pay a little more attention to where your going as you have just knocked a bike on me" and walked off. She then started hurling abuse at me!!

"F-you, how DARE you say that to me, cant you see I'm in a hurry?! F* sake etc" I didn't know what to say! I don't know what i expected but it wasn't that!

So ladies, my question to you, was I out of line?!

I'm now even more emotional than I was before this happened and scared I'll bump into her again as that is my regular route home. I also wear a really bright coat so am really noticable and its really distinct, shall i wear something different tomorrow?!

argh, wish I had never said anything :(

NotFromConcentrate · 20/09/2011 17:51

Kitty of course you weren't unreasonable!

Even if she hadn't been aware if what she'd done, and it sounds like she did, you were perfectly polite in the way that you told her. She should have the tools grace to explain that it was an accident, tell you she hadn't realised, apologise and then ask if you were alright (pregnant or not!)

I've just ranted (justifiably) at my boss on the phone, and now I'm sitting here silently seething. Perhaps there's something to be said for pregnancy making women slightly batty after all Grin

ILoveMyDragon · 20/09/2011 18:22

No you are not being unreasonable at all some people just need to be told! I can't imagine she will 'do' anything to you if she sees you again and to be honest my experience is that people who hurl abuse are generally just embarassed and the insults are a defence mechanism. With any hope the only thing that will come out of it will be that she will be more aware in the future. Don't hide away tho stand tall and show you aren't scared!

Sorry if that sounded a bit vigilante! But I get annoyed when people are ignorant like that!

ZhenXiang · 20/09/2011 21:24

Hello everyone :)

Welcome Saj I hope your DH's test results come back ok.

Kitty of course you were not unreasonable. I find a lot of people react badly to criticism even if put well, they don't like to take responsibility for the impact their actions have on others. So sorry you had that experience. Wouldn't worry about walking home that way tomorrow she will probably be feeling quite ashamed of herself now she has calmed down and wouldn't dare say anything to you if she saw you again.

Would like a Wine myself, but instead am making hot chocolate yum :)

ReadRideABikeSwim · 20/09/2011 22:17

saj i hope you get the results soon - the waiting must be awful Sad welcome and look forward to talking more soon

kirsty12321 · 21/09/2011 08:59

Glad to hear everything is well and we're all just getting fat!

Saj I hope you get the results soon, it must be awful having to wait Sad

I had my 16 week appointment last Thursday, they were really worried about my blood pressure as it's shot up really high and I've been getting alot of migraines so I've been signed off on bed rest this week and I've got to go back this morning to see how it's helped, Sad
I also have a tooth abses, tonsillitis and an ear infection... Slowly just falling apart!

Fingers crossed for my blood pressure to be nice and low at 10am

LittleBumbleBee · 21/09/2011 10:08

Hi all, hope everyones feeling well this morning. Im afraid im a bit of a 'lurker' to this thread! But thought id put my 2 cents in. Havnt been having the most plain sailing pregnancy so far, had some spotting and lots of tummy and back cramps! My 12 week scan was all good so i guess im just learning what it is normal for me as this is my first pregnancy. Still having morning sickness and waiting impatiently for a bump to start growing but its just not happening yet! Had alot of the usual 'symptoms' sensitive skin bleeding gums really really weird dreams and sometimes really upsetting. Looking forward to feeling the first flutters :-) and got my 16 wek midwife on monday so looking forward to hearing babys heartbeat :-)
Just wondering if anyone has to cope with an on-going illness whilst being pregnant? I have uncompensated labyrinthitis which basicallya few years ago i had a virous in my inner ear which caused permanent damage so im left constantly dizzy and unbalanced which in effect leaves me exhausted. Im trying to do things normally but must admit im struggeling, anyone else in kinda the same boat?
Loads of love xx

Kitty YADNBU. She is evidently a silly cow and I am impressed at your restraint. My Pregnancy Rage would have had me ranting back at her!!!

I feel like I'm getting fat too - must be a common theme on our thread!! Have compensated for the fact that my clothes don't fit as well by buying myself some loooovely new boots - cheered me up hugely :) I think the nect few months are going to be all about the accessories!!!

16 week appointment on Friday - fingers crossed I hear the heartbeat. Am also going to get a referral for some physio/osteo on my back as it's premanenetly painful and I am starting to walk like an old woman!!!

ZhenXiang · 21/09/2011 22:22

Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad kirsty12321, your blood pressure often increases when you have an infection or a virus so hopefully rest and antibiotics will help bring it down. Hope you feel better soon.

Hello to everyone else :)

17+3

knitterati · 22/09/2011 12:09

kitty I think you were really quite restrained!
I have been scowling at folk/men on the tube for not offering me their seat when I am clearly displaying my baby on board badge. Nevermind inflicting actual pain on me!

Welcome saj and littlebumblebee

There's talk on the other March thread about feeling kicks and wriggles - any news here?

Feeling really grumpy at work today. Just want to go home and sleep! Zzzz

ShaggingProducesResults · 22/09/2011 12:27

I want to go home too!! The day is actually going quite quickly but I am still really not in the mood!!

No movement over here - I think that maybe it's because it's my first though. I hear that with subsequent babies you can feel them moving a bit earlier.

Roxanne123 · 22/09/2011 13:08

Im due on 18 th March :) x

babydust27 · 22/09/2011 19:30

Have you all seen the mother care expectant parents events starting on 2nd October??

Reallea · 22/09/2011 21:49

I was halfway thru a post yesterday to say I wondered if I had felt movement but had to go half way thru so dud not post. I am 16+3. saw midwife today and she confirmed that I was probably right as she said you are more in tune with no 2. showed her where and she went straight there for a heartbeat and got it immediately-really strong! Very exciting!

I have now got a clear bump and sickness has finally abated! So so relieved at that. Have even packed away normal clothes into the loft and filled wardrobe with maternity stuff! Have been lent tons, I am very lucky!

ShaggingProducesResults · 23/09/2011 14:23

Wooooohooooo Reallea! Fab news that you are feeling much better and that the MW found the heartbeat.

I had my 16 weeks appointment today and they found mine too. Was quite surreal as you could hear the heart and then kicking!! Am still not really showing at all but she said not to worry because it was probably down to being reasonably tall and having quite good abdominal muscles.

Actually getting a social life back now as am also starting to feel better. Still have a few dodgy moments but it's a massive improvement on the first 14 weeks!

knitterati · 23/09/2011 15:17

I know what you mean shagging I don't want to speak too soon, but I am tentatively starting to feel like I've turned a corner on the sickness and complete lack of energy.

I'm hopefully going to find some nice maternity clothes this weekend - my low cut jeans still fit (under the flump) but they then start falling down around the backside! Blush think it's time for a new pair of (maternity) jeans!

Thought I felt a flutter last night - can't be sure but it felt like a ripple in my tummy. Does that sound familiar to anyone? Not really sure what to expect in terms of movement as it's my first.

Have a good weekend all!

Saj30 · 23/09/2011 17:20

Yay! got DH's results today, he is clear no sign of the thalassaemia trait! :)

Does anyone know at the 12 week scan is it just a scan like I had or do they normally test urine etc Confused

Thank you for all the warm welcomes x

Reallea · 23/09/2011 19:55

Knitterati, first time I felt movement in first pg was at 18 weeks and it felt like a tickle inside, like someone was tickling me with a feather from within- it made me giggle. Then times after that it just felt sort of like a gurgle in the intestines IYKWIM. Then the gurgle feelings got stronger so I could begin to distinguish them as being kicks. I think it was about 21 weeks when DH was able to feel by putting his hand on my bump. This time it just felt like pressure in one area of my bump which kept coming and going when I was out shopping. I think I might be able to describe it as a ripple so I think I know what you mean, so sounds like it was definitely movement you felt!
