Londoner · 26/11/2005 09:05

Excuse question marks in last post.... where did they come from?????????

sarahsausage · 26/11/2005 09:05

Morning!

Congrats sharon

Still nothing here. Keep going to sleep at night thinking "tonight's the night ill wake up having contractions" lol. May try waddling into town today, see if a walk can do me some good. If not shall have to try some bd'ing before dp goes back to work next week. (Yes i am that desperate!) He's working away from wednesday next week. Hopefully baby will put in an appearance before then as tuesday is my due date.

Feeling a little brighter today, although still achy and feeling constant pressure.

How is everyone else?

Sarah 3 days to go

Diege · 26/11/2005 09:28

Good morning ladies

Today is my due date!!

Congratulations Sharon! Really looking fwd to your pics and all your news.

Busy - Glad you've set up that group, I will CAT you later. Like you, bit weary of pics being seen by all on net so group is a fab idea and well done on that!

Kristina & LilJ - Where are you girls? You have to check in you know..might think you've gone into labour or something!

SS -

Had a good night's sleep am pleased to say, the first in a v.long time so have woken feeling revived and ready to tackle the world (well, not quite). We are hoping that the house will be back to normal by the evening and I can start on all those little odd jobs.

Well, have a good day girls. I will be checking in from time to time as I'm at home all weekend but will probably end up posting to myself There's only 5 of us left right?

ChaCha
40 weeks today!!

alicemama · 26/11/2005 12:37

Afternoon Ladies & remaining bumps,

Just a quick note to say Amelia Megan arrived at 12:18 yestrday dinnertime, weighing 8lb 12oz after 5hrs 17mins of labour.

It was very quick and never got chance to use the pool but I'll fill you all in later, a bacon sandwich is calling me!

Alicemama

LilJ · 26/11/2005 13:27

Just a quick one as we're celebrating Thanksgiving today and so loads to do. I'm now officially one day overdue! And no sign of baby still, but did just have a whopper of a contraction - probably just a BH, but the turkey has just been put in the oven ...

Think I'm going to try reflexology this week as I've been told it works like a charm to bring on labour.

J xx

ChaCha · 26/11/2005 13:50

Congratulations Alicemamma

Hi all!

Sorry its taken me so long to post. We only came home last night & today was very busy today so this is the first time I've got the pc to myself.

Weeeellll......!! Ella Grace was born on 23/11/05 at 23:02, weighing 7ilb 9oz. It was normal delivery with no stitches, I'm glad to say! After my waters went, they were stained with meconium from the outset so I knew my water birth with a physiological third stage were definately not going to happen but I didn't mind one bit. It became the most intervention-filled labour you could imagine, ha ha!

Contractions fizzled out, had prostin then syntocinon infusion was started at 5pm. Had a TENS fitted & the contractions didn't become aggressive & regular until 9pm whereupon I burst into tears & felt a bit silly! Had some meptid which I thought was crap (& I told them!) But they admitted it wasn't terribly good against the force of the synto. Together with gas & air I managed to hang on until 22:40 when I was fully. Second stage was 20 mins & she shot out in one almighty push! Cord had to be clamped straight away as it was very short so DP did the honours. Absolutely delighted at intact perineum!! I cannot tell you what a difference it makes. Put her to the breast which she liked & still does!

She had her sugar levels checked the next day & we got through ot with regular good BFs & top ups with ebm, so I was very happy. Unfortunately, as I have antibodies she developed jaundice & was treated with light therapy which is why we were in an extra day. Went back today to have her blod checked & her bilirubin levels are down so she doesn't need anymore phototherapy.

She is feeding like a dream & the milkman arrived today so she is on cloud 9! Needless to say, she is THE most beautiful baby on the planet, sorry to the other mums!! I cannot take my eyes off her or stop kissing her. This is the start of a wonderful love affair. .

Enough about me, hope all well with you all. Congrats to Sharon. Good luck after your sweep, KristinaM. Not long now Chacha.

Bye for now.

ChaCha · 26/11/2005 17:27

OH Karma....

sarahsausage · 27/11/2005 10:23

LOL @ good look! Anyone seen my brain??

KristinaM · 27/11/2005 10:47

Hi everyone. Congratulatiosn Karma, Alice and Sharon and welcome babies. What lovely names!

Karma - I am very jealous of your intact bits . So pleased that Ella's blood sugars were Ok and she didnt need formula (i know you didnt want this, no offence to bottle feeding mums!!!!!!). I'm sure its all credit to you for keeping your GD so well controlled. So when are you allowed back on teh chocolate??? Its more or less compulsory when you are BF as you knwo

Karma - How did DP cope?????? Mine has been stressed out his mind about the birth but is better having met with the consultant on Friday.

BAM - just awaiting good news from you. Well done for avoiding the dreaded induction - hope DP sobered up fast

Lil - how did thnaksgiving go? I have spent a lot of time in the US but never in late November so have never got to do thnaksgiving - sounds like a lot of fun. How long is your mum here for?

Chacha - my baby is obviously waiting for yours, as I am still here, despite being 5 days OD, a sweep, lots of cramping and several shows. i fear baby will be coming on 6 December with the aid of syntocin ...everything i dont want basically

BEKsmum · 27/11/2005 11:10

Congratulations Karma, 1 push, what a star!!!

Congratulations Sharon and Alicemama

Looking forward to seeing you all on the postnatal thread. Beks

tessasmum · 27/11/2005 15:58

Congratulations to all the new mums and babies.
They seem to come in a bit of a rush and then it all goes quiet for a while. Here's hoping the next rush includes all those still waiting.

Hopefully you have added to the list by now Busy. I hope the trek to hospital sobered up your DP and that he was of some use to you.

KristinaM · 27/11/2005 16:25

sarah, chacha, Lil, how's it going?

ChaCha · 27/11/2005 19:08

Hi Kristina,

I'm still here. Typical Sunday here, managed to cook a roast and have been sat playing cards and drinking tea since. What about you?

Nothing to report on baby front, the odd pain/niggle but nothing else. You? Nothing planned this evening other than watching the repeat of Little Britain that I missed on Thursday, a bath, book and bed! x
