Morning all ladies. Bit of an early one for me as I've got a bit of news!
Firstly, my appologies to the ladies who are overdue (& also the ones that aren't!) but my waters have gone!!! They went in spectacular fashion at 05:15 & I'm now contracting 1:5mins, not too painful at the moment. Depending on whether I "crack on" I may be able to post again during the day.

Wish me well. I've got my fingers crossed for some labours starting for you all. x

LilJ · 23/11/2005 07:44

Wow! Great news Karma!!! Hope everything goes well for you & baby!

Also rather , but I'm sure the rest of us will catch up soon enough. Was having quite regular contractions every 15 minutes or so last evening, but had a good night's sleep and although I still feel slight ones every so often this morning I have been here before so not expecting anything to come of it.

My Mum should be arriving this morning from the States so either I'll go into full-force labour the minute she lands or the baby will decide to wait until she leaves on Sunday!

J xx

KristinaM · 23/11/2005 09:04

thats great Karma - hope all goes well for you and DP holds it together! I know you will!!!

Lil - good luck to you too. hope baby comes now to see his grandma

Just to join in.....I was up in the night too with cramping pains but they were constant , didnt come and go like contractions. Took paracetemol and they settled enough for me to get some sleep, Enough to worry Dh tho - he has decided to work from home today and has taken DS into the office with his for an hour or so to get the things he needs ( office is only 10 mins away). So now I have an hours peace!!

One of my lovely SILs is coming for coffee thsi monring so I'm looking forward to seeing her. She has 3 boys and is having another in January, so will be a good person to have with me if there is any more action thsi monrning [hopeful emoticon]

How are rest of you today??

Londoner · 23/11/2005 09:14

alicemama · 23/11/2005 10:28

Good Luck Karma, we're all thinking of you today....get those contractions going!!

Well nothing happening here, now 9days overdue....can't believe I'm saying that esp cus I thought I'd be early! Even bd'ing last night doesn't seem to have had any effect. Don't feel too good today, was up most of night with indigestion that hasn't gone away yet today. Dh is going to come home at dinner time to keep me company, getting really fed up of being stuck in the house. Every morning dd wakes up and asks if we're going out and is so disappointed when we end up staying in. Might try and take her to soft play this afternoon if I feel up to it.

Have a good day everyone
Alicemama 41+2!!!!!!!!!!

Diege · 23/11/2005 10:46

Good luck Karma!!! Will be thinking of you, and look forward to seeing you soon on the post-natal thread!!

novadandypowder · 23/11/2005 11:57

Thanks for the update about Enthusia, Chacha, I was getting a bit concerned as she's usually quite chatty.

Best Wishes to karma - love the christmas name by the way.

Can't believe we're nearly at the end of Nov. already..

KristinaM · 23/11/2005 11:57

Alice - big commiserations for being 9 DO. I went to 13 days over with Ds and know how frustrating and worrying it is . I'm hoping not to repeat this but I'm due today and not a lot is happening now.......

Karma - how it going???

Bam - any action???

Busyalexsmummy · 23/11/2005 14:11

None, here. but tbh Im hoping nothing happens for a few days now as I feel soooooo ill, literally feel like Ive been run over by an artic lorry or something...have managed to get emergency dr appt at 4pm, so hopefully will get something to take away the pain, If they wont give me anything,I'll just sit there and cry like Ive done all morning
my throat/neck has swollen up really badly,I look like Ive gained 5 double chins overnight!

good luck karma x

hi to everyone, will probably post again tommorrow as I will probably just go to bed later when I get back xx

Very, very cold here today and seems to be getting dark at a very early hour. Spent a few hours in our local shopping centre this afternoon which resembles a Santa's Grotto - very colourful and festive, I like this time of year.

Busy - So sorry that you're still feeling so ill. Hope you're given something to relieve pain and get some rest.

Alicemamma - Fingers crossed for you.

How are you Kristina? Alls well I hope. Nothing to report from here. Enjoying having a parent around again to cook and drive me around, all this build up for the past 9 months to an expected due date and NOTHING, seems bizarre!!

Keep posting ladies, we surely do not have long to go! xxx

CADS · 23/11/2005 19:22

Hi

Just checking how you are all doing. Sounds like we will be having a few babies over the next few days. Hope you are all well and thank you for your congratulations.

CADS

KristinaM · 23/11/2005 19:40

thnaks CADs.

Nothing happeneing here, I think the pains in the night were muscular / ligaments as the baby's head was fully engaging. I was 2/5 last week and thsi monring I have a lot more pressure "down there". Basically it feels like I need to do an enormous poo!!! I can t remember if it felt like this first time - do any of you have thsi? Cant see how they coudl be contractiosn as the pain is constant. Wasn't expecting it this time around.

BAM - sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. Sounds much worse than a cold to me - what did the dr say? Surely if you have a throat infection they will give you antibiotics?

Any news from Sarah or Karma? Guess they are in hospital now.

Alice - how are you feeling?

tessasmum · 23/11/2005 19:49

Just checking in too.

Good luck to those who are off and running and lots of 'get a move on' vibes to those still waiting.

Sorry you are feeling so rough Busy, I'm sure its the last thing you need at the moment.

ChaCha - calm down woman, there is only so much cleaning one house can stand. The sooner that baby gets here the better for all concerned

The sleep side of things doesn't get much better on 'the other side' but at least you can get comfy and turning over doesn't feel like an expedition. Also, being able to bend over again is a complete revelation

I'd like to second Rodeo, its been a pleasure and a privelege sharing the last few months with everyone and long may it continue.

Busyalexsmummy · 23/11/2005 19:51

Just checking back in quickly as I feel slightly better than I did earlier, saw Dr, I have got a throat infection and a ear infection so she has perscribed antibiotics(sp?) and Ive stocked up on lockets and vicks etc! shes given me a 4 day supply so I hope that works and I wont need any more after the weekend!

Kristina-I dont remember feeling like this last time round either-like you say, constant pressure in rectal area feels like you need to poo but often I cant even if I try, I think this babies head must be lower than ds was, maybe its because this one is 2/5ths engaged, whereas ds didnt engage whatsoever till labour.

KristinaM · 23/11/2005 20:04

BAM - so glad you have some meds, I'm sure you will feel better pretty quickly. Can you take paracetemol as well to give you some sleep tonight?

JenJam · 23/11/2005 20:31

thinking of you karma

Busyalexsmummy · 23/11/2005 20:32

yes, got painkillers, so will be taking those aswell, hopefully a hot bath, get dp to rub vicks on my chest and back and heres hoping I get a little more sleep than last night!

KristinaM · 24/11/2005 10:41

monring girls, how are you all today?

needless to say, i am still here.sigh

ChaCha · 24/11/2005 12:41

Me too Kristina... I am due on Saturday, wonder how long i'll be waiting now.
Very, very emotional today. There were tears at the breakfast table and family thought it was because I was unhappy with the breakfast I'd made so was consoled with cooking compliments for a good ten minutes... Hormones are everywhere!

Absolutely nothing to report..guess it's the same all round.

Hope you're okay Busy, must be hard right now, but all worth it v.soon.

sarahsausage · 24/11/2005 14:17

Afternoon ladies,

Am home from MILs now, dp working locally for rest of this week.

Glad to be home as SIL has been driving me and Mia crazy, she's such a spoilt brat (she's 12 but you'd think she was 6). Mia has been full of a cough/cold so has been cranky anyway.

Will be moving house over christmas. The temperature in my bedroom was 12 degrees the other night, i refuse to bring a baby home to those temperatures. I have bought an electric heater but it eats loads of electric and doesnt even warm the room. Going to be a difficult few weeks for us, finding money for xmas and a bond and rent up front to move house especially as dp hasn't got his first wage yet.
Also just pulled half my tooth off with a sticky sweet and i cant find a dentist or afford to go private. Sorry girls, i gotta rant somewhere

Good Luck to Sharon and karma, so exciting!

Feeling as crap as everyone else is. Good to know i'm not alone

Sarah 5 days to go!

rodeo1 · 24/11/2005 14:45

LOL at your hormones at breakfast Chacha! We're just as hormonal on the post-natal!

Thinking of you anyway! And you too Sarah, Kristina, Busy....looking forward to announcements from Karma and sharon. How's Alicemama? Who else is waiting?

rodeo1 · 24/11/2005 14:51

LilJ - Sorry! Good luck to you too!

ChaCha · 24/11/2005 15:20

Hiya Rodeo
It's sooooo quiet on here, not surprising I suppose considering there are less than a handful of us left.
Wonder if Alicemamma has gone into labour? LilJ should be indulging in Thanksgiving dinner etc..and that leaves Busy, we've heard from Kristina and SS today.

SS - It's good to be back home then? Pleased to hear your DP is around too, you must be chuffed. Sorry to hear about your tooth, my dentist is private but his prices are v.reasonable, maybe you could ask over the phone - might discover that treatment is a lot less than you think. Toothache is the last thing you'll want right now.

Sleeping, eating, crying/laughing ChaCha

Chloe55 · 24/11/2005 15:25

ChaCha - just in case you were interested everything is fine and it was just a false alarm yesterday, I was hooked up to the monitors and baby's heart and my tightenings were recorded - seems I am having a large does of BH at the moment and have contracted a urinary infection but otherwise me and baby are well.

Hope you have a productive weekend
