I'll just bump it up so everyone realises..

karmamother · 21/11/2005 21:14

Thanks BAM, I've left details on the postnatal thread so they can find it too.

How are you, BAM? Hopefully well.

was chocolate queen on your list as she has just gone into labour

KristinaM · 21/11/2005 21:34

Hi everyone! Karma - cant believe you are still here!!! When we didnt hear from you for a few days I was convinced the RLT had done the trick? How are you feeling? Did you get the Mears info about syringes?

ChaCha · 21/11/2005 21:39

Well Done Karma!

bsg - No idea who chocolate queen is..did she change her name?
Here are the names of the November ladies that we haven't heard from in a very long time:

Llouou, Pinkminx, Firstbabyandnervous, Hollybelle, Bains, Bamik, Kate7,
BabyonBoard and MisZan. Hope that helps and all the best to chocolate queen

My feet look puffy..they have a strawberry type texture Am going to stop cleaning!

JenJam · 22/11/2005 00:30

congratulations CADS - love to see some pics of isabelle...when you get some time

karmamother · 22/11/2005 08:32

Morning all.

Hope you all like the name of the new thread.

Yes, sadly I'm still here with lots of backache & feeling very fed up, as everyone else is. Been up all night since 2am holding a hot water bottle over my back, listening to DP snoring upstairs. Very grumpy this morning, as a result.

When chocolate queen was mentioned I wondered if that was me! Its all I can think of. At Tesco's yesterday I was able to stock up on my chocolate muller light yoghurts & the till assistant asked if I had a craving for them. Well, I did buy 18 pots.

Wonder if Sharon has delivered yet? We've had a bit of a dry spell lately so hopefully this means we're moving again.

Chacha, sit down now!!! You need to keep some energy in reserve for your labour.

KristinaM, yes I did get that info from mears & it was invaluable. I see my mw tomorrow so she might let me have some equipment. Storing it in syringes makes much more sense. You should see the pathetic amount of colostrum I have frozen in one enormous bag. I just hope my mw is receptive & doesn't look at me like I have 2 heads. I think when you're able to pick up all this info from MN there's a danger of being more well informed than your MW.

Well, got the house to myself so I might have a warm bath then into bed to see if I can get some sleep. Have a good day!

trying out my christmas name!

KristinaM · 22/11/2005 09:04

Hi Karma - sorry to hear you had such a bad night. You've been having bad cramps and Bh for weeks, haven't you....must be very discouraging.Well done on the expressing - hope Mw is helpful - its hardly a big deal is it, to give you a few syringes????? And makes so much sense

I have the opposite - not a single sign of anything. This is what happened last time & i ended up geting induced at term +13 ( actually term+17). It was a horrible experince I dont want to repeat but I'm now getting a bit panicy that it will all happen again. Thinking I shoudl have not bothered with the ECV and baby woudl be safely here by now......

So physicaly i am doing just fine, apart from the runs of course which I've now had for weeks. I am even sleeping ok ( sorry ). just feeling really anxious and scared

LilJ · 22/11/2005 10:03

Great - a new thread! Hopefully the last one for us??

Slept terribly last night while DH snored away - went and slept in spare room which he then stormed into at 7 am waking me up by mistake - so rather grumpy this morning. Thinking of having a very lazy day, but Mum is arriving tomorrow morning so really should go and do some food shopping etc. I seem to have lost my appetite a bit - and of course looking up in all the books to see if it's a sign of anything - no mention of it though. I'm usually a very enthusiastic cook, but in past day or so haven't felt inspired. Had a take-away curry last night (complete wive's tale that one!)

There seems to have been a slump in babies recently so someone's got to pop soon otherwise we'll all be on the December thread before we know it! I've got an induction appt for the 5th, but am really praying it doesn't come to that. I've also got a mw appt this Thursday (day before I'm due) and was going to discuss doing a sweep with her - will they do a sweep if you ask for one? Or is it up to them?

As my Mum said inevitably I'll go into labour the minute the Thanksgiving turkey goes in the oven!

Hope everyone has a great day and goes into labour

J xx

ohKARMAallyefaithfulMOTHER · 22/11/2005 10:09

Lilj, your post was alarmingly similar to mine! I asked my MW about a sweep & the policy is for a first timer it can be done at term+7, subsequent pregnancies are term+4. Obviously everywhere will have a different policy so your MW will tell you what it is at your hospital.

BTW SharonW went into labour last night (its on the old thread) so she might be today's new birth story.

alicemama · 22/11/2005 10:11

Well I'm the dopey one that missed this thread!

Cads, I'm so so pleased for you and I love the name Isabella. And you've given me some hope that something might happen for me before saturday!

Had a show last night but nothing has come of it yet. Midwife is coming round later so going to ask for a 2nd sweep and see if that does the trick.
My brother rang me last night for the first time in over a year. Dh answered the phone and didn't know who it was and I nearly dropped dh's dinner that I was dishing up. Me and my brother do get on quite well but my sil hates my guts and they live in Bath which is apparently n a different planet and only has intermittant communication with the real world i.e. west bromwich......Sarcastic cow aren't I!!!!!

Lots of things I should really be doing but really can't be bothered....Oh yes I'm a lazy cow as well!!!!

alicemama 41+1!

ChaCha · 22/11/2005 10:51

Hello all,

Karma - Very festive name! Love it! But Karma is stamped into my brain and Karmamother you are (without the trimmings)
Hope you get what you need from m/w tomorrow.

LilJ - Your induction is booked for Term + 9 then? I have a consultancy at Term + 5 but no talk of induction date. Other than frantic cleaning and the usual aches/pains/niggles there has been no real sign of anything. Very envious of Thanksgiving Dinner..yummy! Would be nice if baby could make an appearance while your mum is over...fingers crossed for you.

Kristina - You sound in good spirits..hurray! At least someone is getting some sleep around here. I have to sleep sat up now, ligaments feel like they are being ripped apart on either side along with sporadic baby jiggles.

Alicemamma - Great news about the show!! That should give you some hope, no? If not, hope you too get a good response from m/w. I haven't seen mine for weeks - have just sort of been left from 37wks but did have a 'waste of time' consultancy last week.
Families eh? Hope things start to run smoother between the two of you. Babies seem to have a habit of bringing families closer together, has done here.

My strawberry feet developed into two swollen hobbit looking legs last night! DH wrapped them in freezing cold towels and eventually swelling went down. Was quite strange though..never had it and am glad it's gone. Looked v.strange and did not like it.

That's it for me. Off to pick dad up from Heathrow...yippeeeee...pressies!!!

Alicemamma: 8 Days Overdue
Busyalexsmummy: 4 Days Overdue
SharonTW1: possibly in labour/had baby
KristinaM: 4 DTG
Karmamother: 4 DTG
LilJ: 3/4 DTG
Chacha: 3/4 DTG
Sarahsausage: 7 DTG

Hope the stats are accurate.
See you all later x

Chloe55 · 22/11/2005 11:12

Sorry I'm thread hopping (I'm on the due Feb thread) just wanted to wish all of you who have not yet 'dropped' the best of luck and hope that the sleepless nights ease up a little bit for you

Busyalexsmummy · 22/11/2005 12:06

Kristina-I with you on that one ds was 10days OD(16 days) and I am starting to panic that I will go loads overdue again this time, am 3 days over today and hoping that the midwife can tell me something-worst case senario would be to go to see her and find out she cant do a sweep because Im not dilated at all! fingers crossed that doesnt happen.......

Still feel pants again today, cant imagen labouring feeling like this

Will check back in later when Ive had the sweep done!

novadandypowder · 22/11/2005 12:17

hello bumpy ladies.

Congratulations to CADS

Busy - Natalie was due on my 30th birthday, and I had the same thing 'oh, wouldn't it be good if she arrived on your birthday etc..', but I agree with you, I did not want to be sharing my birthday!! I wanted her to be born before it so I could indulge, but one glass of wine and I was ready for bed!

I have gained my bump back, except this time its in the shape of a baby bjorn carrier - it's the only way I can get around and do stuff during the day. It's very cute though - she's sitting in it sleeping on my chest while I type...

KristinaM · 22/11/2005 12:44

BAM - so glad to hear you have an appointment to day & hopefully you will get a sweep. Do let us knwo how it goes

i have a hosp appoitment on Friday when i will be term plus 2 and they will do one then if i want one. I asked about one last week and they wont do it til you are overdue, but didnt say how many days. I just have to go on Fri coz thats when the clinic is IYSWIM. Hoping it works this time.

On fri they will give me a day for induction betwen term +10 and term + 13. i will go for the 13 in the hope that I go on my own. Cant see 2 days making much difference to the size of the baby..... will also ask about trying another sweep as that worked for you

cahcha - sorry to hear you are sleeping so badly. i think my ligaments are all stretched already as DS1 is only 18 months....who knows......

Agree with thoes of you who DONT want babies on other family birthdays. Its not fun at all as everyone wanst their special day. My birthday is just before our wedding anniversary and is often on mothers day weekend as well so instead of 3 nice days i just get one (are you crying yet?????!!!)

Lil - i have lost my appetite as well and normally eat very well. i can only face snacky things like cereal or toast or fruit, not proper meals. Dh has been cooking for the last few days (bless)

Alice - sounds like things are happeneing for you....good luck!

hollybelle · 22/11/2005 14:25

Hi all
Just found time to let you know that I gave birth to Harry Benjamin on 12.11.05. Quick delivery after a slow start and he weighed 9lb 1oz.
Good luck to all those still waiting!

twinkle1 · 22/11/2005 14:53

KristinaM
You can buy anusol cream or suppositories over the counter and they are fine for pregnancy/breastfeeding.I also find sitting on some ice wrapped in kitchen role helps. But i can relate with you, the pain is awful mine are just statring to calm down
Hope everyone else is ok
twinkle & joshua

Londoner · 22/11/2005 15:55

Wow, congratulations hollybelle... and welcome to your little one!

ChaCha · 22/11/2005 19:42

BEKsmum · 22/11/2005 20:04

CADS congratulations on the birth of baby Isabella, what a lovely name, glad everything went well for you, look forward to catching up with you on the post natal thread.

BEKsmum · 22/11/2005 20:06

Congratulations Hollybelle, glad everything went smoothly for you.

Chacha, thanks for the message re Enthusia, everyone on the post natal thread was wondering if she was ok.
Hope you are doing ok too, not long to go now!!!
Beks

Busyalexsmummy · 22/11/2005 21:29

Went for sweep this afternoon, all was well 2-3cm dilated so she was able to do the sweep, she said my cervix is still quite posterior, but thinning nicely and she said 2 fingers comfortably

Have had a few tightenings, but no show or bleeding yet, she is going to come out again on monday morning to give me anougher sweep. Ive been given a iduction date of tuesday, I just need to ring up in the morning to confirm bed space................not sure about this, may hold out for a few more days...but at the same time, theres a real likeyhood of it arriving on my birthday if I go much further over than +10......does that sound selfish?
I think Im going to think about it long and hard-now is soooooo not the right time to make a decision like this when I feel so ill-today it appears I have an ear infection as well so I really do feel sh*te!
