Sending you lots of warm thoughts Lil & hope to hear from you soon

ChaCha · 08/12/2005 09:11

Good morning ladies,

Our baby boy was born on Saturday morning by emergency c-section after a very tiring and intense labour. I am totally lost for words and can't begin to describe how I feel at the moment. I will post a birth announcement later when I am able to piece together the events of the last week - it's all still quite a haze and as you can probably tell am still a little disorientated.

Baby weighed 7lbs 9oz (contrary to fuss over 'big for dates'), he's very long with beautiful long legs and fingers. He is feeding & sleeping well and is just amazing - but then i'm biased Will post pics later too.

Congratulations to all the November mummies, to SS, hopefully to LilJ by now and all the best to Kristina. I hope to post a proper birth announcement soon.

So glad to be back home. What a week!!

Love to you all xxxx

jinglediddle · 09/12/2005 07:52

so lilj and kristingle are you both still holidng in there, or have i missed something?

Londoner · 09/12/2005 09:17

Morning Kristingle, how are you? Gosh you must be so exhausted, but your baby must be a really contented little soul.

Kristingle · 09/12/2005 15:02

Thanks Londoner - everyone says that it must be a boy as its so lazy. Not that we are into gender stereotyping of course . Looks like this baby will only be shifted by a drip or a knife . i desperately DONT want to be induced but I knwo the hopsital will really create if I try to hold out any longer than Monday...

Lil was going in on Wednesday to be induced so I expect we will have some good news from her soon. I think its her first baby so she may have planned to stay in hospital for a few days anyway.

Kristina 40 +16 ish

Kristingle · 09/12/2005 20:39

Any news Lil? Hope everything went well.

babygibbon · 09/12/2005 21:01

Hi Kristina - Just visiting from the December thread to say hello and keep you company - I've been watching the November thread with interest...

Hope you are feeling okay. Do feel free to pop over to the December thread if it gets too lonely here.

Good luck!

Kristingle · 10/12/2005 10:13

Thanks Babygibbon - good to hear from you

This baby is holding on by his fingernails....but i am resigned to being induced first thing on Monday [sigh]. So not long now....

ChaCha · 10/12/2005 10:38

Hey Kristina, thinking of you! Will check in later to see how you're doing. Love xx

Londoner · 10/12/2005 16:56

Kristingle, thoughts are with you, hoping you go into labour this weekend... if not I've heard lots of really positive induction stories. Really looking forward to hearing your news this week, and knowing that you'll be holding your little bundle very soon, and feeling the great physical relief of no longer being pregnant! Can't wait to see you on the other side....oh, and you get a rosette for holding out the longest

LilJ · 10/12/2005 19:51

Well my last post here as I'm definitely due on the post-natal thread now! I am thrilled to say that Nathaniel Spencer arrived on Thursday 8 December at 21:51 after 27 very long hours of labour.

I was supposed to be induced but when I arrived at hospital I was already having contractions. I had to wait 6 hours to get on the labour ward and was only 3 cm dilated by then. They ended up putting me on a drip to bring on contractions and dialation (and I had an epidural - I don;t think I would have made it without one) After 4 hours there was still no movement, but after many more hours and upping the drip I managed to get fully dilated and delivered Nathaniel with the help of a Ventouse as he weighted a hefty 9 lbs 2 ozs (so consultants and scan are sometimes right!).

He is absolutely gorgeous and looks just like his Dad. He has a full head of hair and is settling in quite well, but very hungry and not very sleepy.

Will post more when I'm not so exhausted!

Congratulations to ChaCha and good luck to Kristina!

J xx
