Hello! I've had 4 bfps - 3 taunting faint lines and then went digital. That appeared in 5 seconds, so that probably means I'm pregnant, right? ;) Number 1, obviously, bit nervous! Not so much about being pregnant but I'm American and don't know ANY British mums so I'm hoping Mumsnet can fill my knowledge void! Congrats to everyone on the bus.

pinkreindeer · 02/06/2011 23:14

Millie26 definitely keeping up the exercise - I do body pump, which has its own modification system for when you're pregnant. I had a dance instructor when I was a kid that ran until she gave birth. It's mainly your own body and risk factors.

Moofins · 03/06/2011 05:43

Hello all. Can't sleep today and its my day off work. Grrrrr

I think its Mrs Huxtables wedding today? If so good luck and hope u have a lovely day!

Re excercise I think jogging and cycling u are supposed to be careful with in the first 3 months but I know people that have continued both all through. Agree with pink that exercise is important but just be a bit more careful. If ur body is used to u running then can't c a problem. My body is not so would prob be a shock to the system! But I do cycle a lot and will continue.

Am also surprised re DSs chick Pox but Dr Google has declared that if babies get a mild dose the immunity doesn't properly build and so can catch it again. So we're in quarantine for 5 days. Booo and dr said I will be fine which is a shame as had been dreaming of a lovely weekend on my own in Brighton! double booooooo

puzzletree · 03/06/2011 08:39

Ooh yes, hope you have a wonderful day Mrs Huxtable
I'm not a big exerciser myself but I'm pretty sure it's ok to continue with exercise you're already doing but take it easy.
Feeling a bit tired today, but that's probably because my boys were really unsettled last night, and I kept having to go see them, they were too hot I think. Is this summer then?

clarinsgirl · 03/06/2011 09:59

I'm in too. Found out on Tuesday, due 6th Feb. Already have DS 6 and this was first month of trying so still a little shell shocked but very happy Grin

babycarmen · 03/06/2011 13:53

Hi waves i just got my BFP and due around 15th Feb :)

Emy84 · 03/06/2011 17:18

Hi everyone is there room on the bus for another?
Got my BFP last week due 2nd Feb I think! It's my first I am Sooooooo excited but also really nervous at every twinge etc I am worrying if it's normal! Saw the GP yesterday who has referred me to midwife. He didn't really ask any questions or give me any info so am feeling a bit overwhelmed! I don't really have any symptoms yet but the lovely mums on the pregnancy board have been assuring me that is normal.
Congrats to everyone else :)

LankyLegs · 03/06/2011 17:27

Hi all and waves to everyone that has just had good news!

Is it the 12 week mark yet...?!

mille I too exercise quite a bit but got told by my sister to take it easy for the next few weeks so I think I might to be honest.

Hope you are having a lovely wedding day mrshuxatable!

I have just had my sister and 2 of her kids over who are 3 and 18 months and they have destroyed my new kitchen (well made it very grubby!) that I just had done! I think it was a steep learning curve as to how you can not be precious at all about stuff around the house! We only moved in 6 months ago and have been rennovating ever since.... but all of a sudden we have realised

a) we have lots of baby unfriendly stuff around
b) spent far too much money of stuff that is going to be covered in finger prints, food and crayons...

Hmm ...I'm sure it will be fine.

Moofins hope your little DS is bearing up ok. Poor you stuck in doors on a lovely weekend.

Scrambled egg flavour pringles ladies??? Not sure I am looking forward to the start of cravings!

Have lovely Friday evenings all..... If only we could have a pimms! Here is a virtual Brew instead

x

pinkreindeer · 03/06/2011 18:02

Moofins hope the little one is OK!

Mrs Huxtable congrats!!

TopazMortmain · 04/06/2011 00:56

Wotcha all

Hope you had a fab day mrshuxtable!

moofins how incredibly annoying. What are you doing this weekend instead of Brighton trip?

Re jogging mille26 I saw my dr yesterday and asked just in case I get the urge to set off on a run (this is highly unlikely) and excercise in general and she says yes, of course, it is fine. She's an OBGYN so am sure she knows what's what.

PuzzleTree lordy. Who knows how to baby proof? Am thinking easiest soution would be to cover every surface with some sort of fluffy, washable cellophane but we would need to invent it first...

So, here in the Mortmain household we're a little Shock as I went for an early scan yesterday as I have LOADS of cramps and there are TWO gestational sacs visible at 5 weeks. Two. Not one. Two. I have been in denial for the last 24 hours. I know that lots can go wrong and not to get expectations up too high but TWO? [breathes deeply emoticon]

puts duvet over head and nibbles on seeweed Pringles in panic

puzzletree · 04/06/2011 08:33

TopazMortmain twins!!!!!! stay calm (easier said than done I'm sure), and make sure you take it easy. how exciting!

It's LankyLegs who is worried about babyproofing, not me. I'd say don't stress about it too much, it's a long time until you'll have a moving baby. And really you just learn (and alter your housekeeping expectations if needs be!) as you go along. Though regarding house renovation I'd definitely recommend doing as much as you can before the baby arrives!

So I'm trying to fit in as much as possible before the sickness kicks in. Went out to a gig last night and going out to another tonight too :) Got a night at friends planned for next wednesday, but after that I think I can get away with early nights for a while.... Has anyone got any big plans for the summer? We've just got a festival in september but I'll hopefully be feeling ok then. The school hols might be tough though!!! I'm a SAHM but was working during my last 2 pregnancies, will be interesting to see if this one is easy or harder in that respect :)

puzzletree · 04/06/2011 08:35

ps Hi and congratulations to everyone who's just joined!

TopazMortmain · 04/06/2011 09:54

(popped in to say sorry for name confusion lankylegs and puzzletree Brain has checked out this week)

LankyLegs · 04/06/2011 09:58

Topaz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two sacs?!! Deep deep breaths...... How bloody exciting though!!!

puzzle sounds like you have a lovely summer planned - see how you get on with the festival I guess, no reason not to go if you are feeling up to it. I have been to quite a few festivals and you always see pregnant people around - they just take it easy and stay away from crowds etc.

I have a hen do in Spain and a long weekend in the South of France but nothing else exciting planned. DH and are thining of a Sept getaway hopefully if all things go to plan but we shall see.

Omg.... it is still NOT the 12 week mark yet...!

I have peed on way to many sticks.... WAY to many...

Have great Saturday's all.

Twittwooo · 04/06/2011 10:07

Hello ladies, and congratulations! We recently found out that I am pregnant with our first child and although we are very happy, we didn't expect it to happen this soon! We started trying last month but thought it would take up to a year or more to actually happen so it has definitely come along sooner than expected! I went to my GP yesterday and will phone the midwife on Monday. My due date is the 8th February 2012! xx

m1nn1em0u5e · 04/06/2011 10:41

Topaz Whoop! How exciting!....So pleased for you, our friends had twins after fertility treatment!!

Hello all, I've just been looking up the guidance on what foods we should avoid etc and noticed that they recommend no more than 200mg of caffeine a day, which is equivalent to 2.5 mugs of tea. Oops, tend to have plenty more than that on an average day! Hopefully I'll go off tea/coffee soon, in the meantime better wean myself off...
Stinky squishy cheeses are the other thing I'll miss, but it'll probably do me a world of good to avoid alcohol for a while!

m1nn1em0u5e · 04/06/2011 15:32

Im terrible for diet coke, ive read I can safely have up to 5 cans a day so thats ok....didnt realise just how much caffeine coffee has got in it! No Starbucks for me for a while!...Like you say puzzletree, we will probably go off it soon, I cant stand the smell of coffee at the moment!..

EsmeWeatherwax · 04/06/2011 16:02

topaz twins!!! Ahhhhhhh! How fantastic, and very scary!

I have problems giving up caffeine too, can't function without my morning coffee. Went right off coffee and tea in both previous pregnancies tho, so no doubt I will again. It's pate I really miss, when I had dd1 made my mum bring pate sandwiches to hospital for me, she didn't get baby cuddles til she'd handed them over!

Hi to the newbies, and big congrats, this looks like a busy old bus!

rnbsmum · 04/06/2011 16:30

Hello lovely ladies, may I join you? Pretty unexpectedly pregnant with number 3 (dd7 and ds4), but very excited. Found out last Saturday with a digital test and am due on the 2nd x

m1nn1em0u5e · 04/06/2011 18:56

Lol at the pate Esme!....My Dad delivered bacon sandwiches to labour ward for my Mum & Husband!....It was quite comical, although I could only have ice!....

Congratulations rnbsmum!..My boys are 8 & 4 so a similar age to your children!....

Hey, I would like to jump on the bus please Grin

EDD feb 4, just found out yesterday!! I have a 4 month old! whoops Blush :)

chocolatesparkle · 05/06/2011 11:15

Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty new to MN and hadnt realised that this was where the Feb 2012 baby mums were congregating.

Please can i join? DH and I finally got a BFP a couple of days ago, 7 days late for AF. It will be our first baby.

By dates I'm due on the 1st, but because BFP took an extra week to show up i wonder if i ovulated late, so due date might be 8th-hopefully will find out at scan-when i finally get to book in with GP.

Finding it really difficult not telling anyone, we went to friends for supper last night and it was like an assault course avoiding all the wine, coffee and soft cheeses. Plus someone else there was pregnant and everyone kept talking about having babies, DH and i didnt even dare to look at each other!

No bump yet, but already started looking at maternity clothes-so excited!!

puzzletree · 05/06/2011 11:32

Ooh it's getting busy here! Congratulations everyone!

Enjoyed the gig last night, but we'd decided to keep quiet about the pregnancy, I think they bought my 'tired from going out last night' excuse for not drinking :) Hope they didn't notice the hairband holding my jeans fly together- there was no way I could button it!

Just remembered my friend brought me a massive piece of brie into hospital when I'd had my first, bliss! Was a bit smelly in my room though.
