Great stuff Missy! Glad to hear it was all OK for you smilingcl! My turn tomorrow, can't believe its finally here! woo hoo let's hope it's good news.

Might struggle to get my 1.5 pints of water in for the scan as I have had a constant full feeling since breakfast yesterday morning (only scrambled eggs on toast). Gone from eating everything in sight to next to nothing, sooooo uncomfortable! I thought this only came when you had a big bump!! Taking my vits and sipping water all day so should be OK. Maybe I need some wind!!

Missyraines · 16/05/2011 18:01

Yay MissyN it's over and went well. Thank goodness. Bet that's a huge worry off your mind (for now)

I relented and bought some maternity jeans from Mamma and Pappas today. My normal tops are still OK it's just my jeans were a bit tight when I sat down and seeing as I do a lot of that, especially at work, I thought I'd get some. I highly recommend them (over the bump)

Glad your appointment went well smiling relief for you too!

chipmonkey · 16/05/2011 18:19

Yay Missy!!!!

I saw SIL's scan pictures yesterday and am a bit Envy that they came out so much better than mine! The annoying thing is, I don't know why my consultants didn't send me to where she went as it is a private clinic attached to the hospital where I was scanned, is literally a two minute walk from where I was scanned and was 30 Euro cheaper! Will deffo be having my 20 week scan there!

voodoomunkee · 16/05/2011 18:22

Ah congrats MissyN :) Good luck for tomorrow Sunshine and nice to hear about a good appointment smiling :)

Been a very long day today, had the 'I hate Mondays' feeling hanging right over me! Also had to ring hospital as I got a random letter iviting me in for an appointment with a consultant on the 1st of June. Panicked slightly so rang them today to be told it was nothing to worry about and was in fact due to the fact the hospital I had chosen is only mw led and as I had a forceps delivery previously with 1st dc they just had to see me in case of any complications. Seems a little OTT when I had a perfectly normal delivery second delivery but nice at the same time that they bother to check things like this out!

Have we decided on a new name and strand?

Hope everyone is feeling well today.

juststarting · 16/05/2011 18:53

Thanks for the welcome. I too am farting like a trooper. Though not sure thats a great change from normal... And I too am having difficulties with a tight waistband. I LOVED my maternity trousers last time around, I was very reticent to go back to non-flexible waistbands. Think its time to drag the maternity clothes out and put them through the wash. I'm glad scans are going well. Looking forward and anxious about mine on Wednesday. Its always such a wierd mixture of excitement and anxiety isnt it! A lot of people seem to be going for the private scan thing - is it worth it do you think? Also, I have to confess, last time we bought one of those little home use fetal dopplers, and I did so enjoy being able to go and listen to the heartbeat when I wanted. THough we limited ourselves to once a week maximum. And yes, did have the odd momment of panic when we just couldnt find it.

bumpandisaacsmum · 16/05/2011 18:58

Yay for great scan & appointment news :)

Actually went into work looking forward to it today...had a good day even though my simple 5minute patient turned into a 50minute visit which meant I was late leaving!!! Come home and despite DS being reasonably well behaved I've blubbed all eve so far...think an early bedtime tonight for me :)

Am no good at thread names, all those suggested sound good...can I request though whoever starts the new thread can you post on this one where to find the new one as I know a few people got a little lost for a day or so last thread change!!

CollieandPup · 16/05/2011 19:02

Quick post to scan great news MissN so glad it went well and you got some good pics.

Great news cep on NT results too.

Missyraines · 16/05/2011 19:27

I've put forward 'November 2011. Bumps, kicks and less feeling sick.' but will go with whoever is brave enough to make a decision!

PamSco · 16/05/2011 19:28

Excellent scan news MissyN when did they say your due date was?

smiling glad your mind is at rest :)

sunshine best of luck tomorrow.

We've just booked our summer holiday - well the flights anyway. Jammed between amnio (+ 2 wks) and the 20 week scan (guessed date as I won't get an appt for weeks!).

Just trying to find a nice hotel now. Though OH is worried I won't enjoy the holiday - he expects me to slip into another food related psychotic episodes any minute.

I'm reading up on airline seatbelt extensions - whether to buy or humiliate myself asking for one on the plane!

MissyNorfolk · 16/05/2011 19:35

they didnt say pamsco, he just said the dates i have are about right!! so as i have 20th from my dates and 22 from my 6wk scan im taking it as the sooner so 20 nov!

voodoomunkee · 16/05/2011 19:47

MissyR, I like that one. I liked others too but in our pg frazzled minds it is going to take forever to make a decision! (or that might just be me....)

Caliphora · 16/05/2011 19:49

I'm getting the "Am I showing or just fat - is it kicking or just gas - am I pregnant or has it all gone wrong"-noia at the moment. Felt sooooo sick this morning - fat belly is pushing up on my stomach when I sit cramped on the commuter train.
My 16 week appt. is next week due to them thinking I was one week less when I booked in - so no heartbeat listening for me just yet!

Got a horrific cold, too, dry throat, blocked nose, miserable in general.

It's a "lie on the sofa with the pizza" time.

Caliphora · 16/05/2011 19:50

MissyN 20th Nov is my sisters b-day!I was so hoping sprout was going to be due then, as a bit of a present for her, but no no - just a Hallowe'en baby.

Staceroo · 16/05/2011 20:27

I vote for MissyR's suggestion, "November 2011, bumps, kicks and feeling less sick!" All the things I'm looking forward to!

Pleased to hear everyones scan and appointment news! Can't believe we're on 16 week appointments already! Can't wait to heat baby's heartbeat!

MrsA Hope telling the boss went well! I was sooo nervous about doing it, as I've just moved to a new office and thought they'd be really funny about it, but she was genuinely happy for me!

Cali I'm getting a bit porky now too, and it's not just me noticing! My FIL commented the other night about how my cheeks were 'getting a bit chubby'! I wasn't offended, as he meant it in the best humour! Plus he's right!

I think my little hard bit below my bloating is starting to get bigger and to overtake the bloat now! Yay!

cookie9 · 16/05/2011 20:42

Bumps Kicks and Feeling Less Sick sounds good to me. Still sick here but bump has certainly grown. Getting into my nightshirt tonight - yes it is early but I need my rest! - DH exclaimed "Oh my god you're massive!" when he saw the bump and boobs. Need to get new bras soon. God luck to everyone who is getting their scans soon.

alicat10 · 16/05/2011 20:54

I am getting pretty big - people at work think I'm a similar size to my job share partner who is 29 weeks! When I use my doppler the heartbeat is right down by my pubic bone so looks like its more chip butties than bump :-(

MissyNorfolk · 16/05/2011 21:11

have decided to celebrate my lovely scan news with a happy meal and bridget jones's diary, lovely!

Poppet45 · 16/05/2011 21:45

Don't fear Alicat I look like I did last time when I was about 29 weeks. Sigh. I've also made the somewhat upsetting discovery that I've gone up a shoe size, and it's likely to be permanent. Bye bye admittedly not that massive shoe collection. Still gutting though. However to cheer myself up I've just spent a fortune on lovely Merino wool to knit into a wee blanket for Bunnie.

cookie9 · 17/05/2011 06:03

Poppet45 help I had no idea feet grew too! I have been consoling myself that when I can't fit into my nice clothes anymore at least I will still have my shoes. I think I pulled a muscle retching yesterday so avoiding lifting anything today.

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 17/05/2011 06:47

Morning all,

had my extra scan yesterday and bub was there, mostly lying back and stretching away, but got a couple more photos :) DH was thrilled, he gets a much better view than me and saw the heat beating away and watched as the baby was kicking away and arching his back. It's quite addictive this scanning, would do it every week if we had the money. Only five weeks until the 20 week scan and am determined that we will have a private scan at thirty weeks too, it's such a long time to wait till the birth otherwise.

I've been in maternity clothes since about seven or eight weeks, so much more comfortable, especially as the bloat means that I end up much bigger by the end of the day! I've been getting really uncomfortable at the moment, think it's a combination of my bump getting bigger and all the gas, but not too much fun Sad

What colour are you making your baby blanket poppet? I was part way through a jumper when I found out I was pregnant, merino too so going to frog the whole thing and make a blanket too I think, it's a pale green blue colour so a good colour cos we dont know whether it's a girl or a boy and DH doesn't want to find out, which makes it hard to figure out what colours to use.

Hope you all have a good day :)

H007 · 17/05/2011 08:14

Hi all just checking in haven't been for a while felt really poorly over the week :( Friday had a migraine after work which resulted in me vomiting :-S and then felt wiped out for the rest of it.

Finally had my booking in appointment, and my MW seems really, really nice :) due to my raised BMI I have been ref to an obs consultant, however she thinks I'm pretty healthy and can't see there being additional problems, I'm right on the borderline for referral (if only I hadn't had them jammie dodgers haha) It all seems very real now though have a few future appointments booked in and this baby train is chugging along nicely.

To the knighted out there bean's first cardi has been finished it so cute :) and I'm one on a blanket just hoping I can keep the focus!

PamSco · 17/05/2011 08:49

All you knitters are inspiring me! I haven't pickd up my needles for a few years, well not seriously. My gorgeous niece got bombarded with booties 18 mths ago but that's it. Time to kpkpkpkp rep to end* I reckon :)

I've got the fat girl appt today. Can't find the letter telling me where to go anywhere damn it! Quite curious about what they'll say.

Hello, did you know you are fat?
Yes I did.
Ok, don't eat to much, or try to diet.
Thanks.

Something like that? Or am I supposed to go in sack cloth and ashes? I'd have a chip on my shoulder if I hadn't eaten it boom boom.

Have a good day all!
