Calli so glad things seem to be settling down a bit. Fingers crossed.

My scan pics are good cos it was a private nuchal scan, so for £169 they took their time! We are thinking about a 4D gender scan it was so good.

Staceroo · 15/05/2011 21:33

Hi All!

Welcome juststarting! Glad you picked us over December! Grin

Hils, dr gave me folic acid and told me to take it until what she gave me runs out, I'm 14 weeks and have about a weeks worth left!

Cep I feel you with now starting to worry about 20 week scan! It was only a couple of weeks of relaxing after 12 weeks scan, now getting little niggly fears again! (sigh)

TwoJack I'm having a similar problem with the erm... wind... but lukily it's mostly inthe evening so only dh has to put up with it! And he's perfectly accepting of the fact that it's the babies fault ! Blush at blaming it on the baby! Hope you do get a sneak peak tomorrow!

Noticed we're probably on our last page! Running out of room! Should we have a brainstorm of names for our next thread! (I'm worried I'll end up with the responsibility of naming it and we'll end up with something rubbish!)

alicat10 · 15/05/2011 21:46

To anomaly scans and beyond?

Except I don't like to think about the anomaly bit

MissyNorfolk · 15/05/2011 21:48

eeek v nervous scan is tomorrow afternoon!!!!

alicat10 · 15/05/2011 21:57

Fingers crossed, will be thinking of you MissyN

MissyNorfolk · 15/05/2011 22:00

should be called "november bumps and tootling bums" if the conversation above is anything to go by!! :)

Caliphora · 15/05/2011 23:44

Actually, having a girl is allegedly a sign of high testosterone levels in hubby!

Can't wait for my anomaly scan - 17th June! Bring it on!

PoppysMom · 16/05/2011 04:52

MrsArchchancellorRidcully, sorry for the late response. My internet at home died. I live in Singapore, as my DH accepted a Secondment from his company for 3 years. I guess I have permanent summer here. Although this is already starting to be a problem...too hot and I feel dizzy a lot.

Welcome juststarting!

I have an instinct that I am carrying a boy. I have no idea why, but it feels like a boy and I managed to grow a gorilla belly!! Sorry, if TMI :(

Hopefully I will be able to know on 1st June at my 15 week scan :)

Missyraines · 16/05/2011 06:45

M day went well and I told my Mum, brother and Nan all together. We got them a card each and put a copy of the scan in and addressed them to Nan, Uncle and Great Nan from Junior. Lots of tears and hugs. Had texts all the way home from uncles and cousins as the news travelled fast. I think they'd given up hope on me as I'm 34!

I'm thinking about paying for a 16 week scan privately as I just want to see junior again. Is that bad?

How about 'November 2011, bumps, kicks and less feeling sick'

Caliphora · 16/05/2011 07:21

Missy That title made me think of Teenage Kicks! I'll now proceed to have that playing in my head all day :o

mashpot · 16/05/2011 08:49

missyn good luck this afternoon.

I had a gorgeous weekend away celebrating my wedding anniversary. Have come home with a terrible headache which is still here this morning though. I drank lots if water last night to try and get rid of it but that meant I was up at 4.30am on the toilet! May have to resort to paracetemol as I have a really busy week at work ahead and no time for headaches! Two evening events this week on top of work so I'm looking forward to the weekend already!

I have no idea what sex baby I'm carrying but if pushed I would say boy and DH thinks girl. I can't remember who said they were convincing themselves it was a boy to prepare because they are from a family of girls but I think that's what I'm doing too!

PoppysMom · 16/05/2011 09:13

Good luck MissyN

Bluetinkerbell · 16/05/2011 09:39

Morning all!

Caliphora we have our 20 week scan on the same day :)

I'm having my 16-week MW appointment in an hour... hoping to hear the heartbeat! very excited! will let you know how it went once I'm back

I'm having the same problem regarding the wind... not fun at all

Missyraines · 16/05/2011 09:55

Good luck MissyN and Blue for today. FX.

I have the most awful headache too Mash hoping fresh air will cure it. Feels like I had a few too many glasses of wine last night. I wish......

jamama · 16/05/2011 10:46

mash and missyr, I had a week a couple of weeks ago with endless headaches, now mysteriously gone again, in spite of no change in rate of throwing water down self. I took paracetamol when they were bad, since my GP had told me it was fine to do so, certainly helped with getting some sleep, which I felt was important.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 16/05/2011 11:20

Good luck today MissyN

I'm no good at witty titles but like everything suggested so far. Who dares take the plunge!?

I get random headaches too - hormone related. I take paracetamol if really bad but try water and forehead first. I love forehead - it's the menthol thing you rub on your forehead which really cools the area down and seems to tek the pain away.

I'm feeling great and nervous at the same time.
Went to my surgery this morning and the nurse easily took my blood so it's all been sent of special delivery to support my nuchal scan I had on Saturday. They will get the blood tomorrow morning and text me the results tomorrow afternoon - result (I hope)!

My home blood pressure monitor also arrived today. It's a clinically verified one that Boots sells for £112 but I got it from Amazon for £38!
I will use it to back up my assertion that my blood pressure is always up at the hospital/gp cos of white coat syndrome. I set it up and took my first reading - 137/85. Hah! I knew it - perfectly normal.
White coat syndrome always annoys me cos I am a professional trained, fully qualified accountant used to dealing with partners in firms and FDs in industry, yet the sight of a blood pressure monitor in a GP's surgery sends me to jelly!

Hey ho, but the real reason i am nervous is I have to tell my boss I am pregnant today. He's a nice guy but works in Southampton whilst I'm up nr Chester so it'll be phone call and he is very straight and doesn't like talking about 'ladies things'. He's also asked me to work overseas for a few days in July and I haven't answered him yet which I know he thinks is rude but I wanted to wait so I can tell him I can't as in my last pg they advised me not to fly after 20 weeks due to blood pressure.

Oh it's complicated. And now I'll shut up.

MissyNorfolk · 16/05/2011 11:40

thanks for the well wishes lovelies, bring on 14.30!!!!! x

cep · 16/05/2011 12:35

good luck missyN

Bluetinkerbell · 16/05/2011 12:48

brrrr it's so cold today...

back from MW's appointment, they were running half an hour late.
Everything's fine, we were able to hear little one's heartbeat...143
Also heard the bloodflow going to the baby... it was amazing!

Bring on the 20 week scan now! :)

smilingcl · 16/05/2011 13:50

Hello all,

I'm feeling decidedly unpregnant at the moment which is making me paranoid. I've got my a/n gp appt - 16 weeks in a couple of hours so hopefully she'll try and find a heartbeat. My boobs feel like they did before all of this happened and I've had a horrible stomach upset for a few days so I've gone from 64kg to 60 which is less than I was to begin with. Urrgh. Feel guilty about starving the baby if it's in there and those vitamin pills make me feel sick.

Enough moaning, just nice to let it out. OH is being decidedly unsympathetic as he was hungover yesterday and lost about 2kg in being sick himself.

Stupid man.

PamSco · 16/05/2011 14:41

Folic (few pages ago, just home) you are right about the right to time off for yoga, a mw or doctor should recommend it. I doubt if you spoke to a mw and askd do you recommend yoga they wouldn't say yes and give you a note? I'm lucky with work my boss just says do what you feel you must. He knows I won't take the mick.

smilingcl hope you fell better after your appt.

MissyN hope everything is going great, 9 mins in if you haven't been kept waiting!

cep · 16/05/2011 14:42

smiling me too any movements i thought i felt have now stopped. mw not till the 31st as she's fully booked, really want her to use the doppler. don't worry about starving the baby she'll get what she needs from you first. good luck for your apt.

CazandBelle · 16/05/2011 14:57

Anomoly scan date arrived today. 15th June. That will be a busy 10 days now - I've my private gender scan on 6th, doppler blood flow scan on 13th and now anomoly scan on 15th! Baby will be sick of us peeking in!

smilingcl · 16/05/2011 16:20

Ah, thank you pamsco and cep, how annoying to wait coz she's fully booked rather than according to your timings. I haven't felt any of the flutterings I was feeling a week ago either, maybe it was just gas..

Luckily I was just being paranoid :) GP was very matter of fact, 'bloods all good, now get up there so I can find the pulse' sort of thing. She found the pulse which was lovely, baby sounds like it's really working hard to get bigger in there! I like the wooshy sound of all the extra blood aswell.

MissyNorfolk · 16/05/2011 16:36

Hey lovelies, my scan went wonderfully!!! Thank you so much for all the well wishes. I was so nervous and worried, but baby stayed very still so a lovely picture could be taken, and then got excited and started wiggling, have really clear pictures, have sent them to OH via email and he is over the moon. Was so lovely to see it!!! oooh so excited!
