Truffkin · 17/03/2011 17:01

Aaaaaargh, I'm on the not list

What a beayooootiful fred this is Grin

Ocarina · 17/03/2011 17:32

You are indeed Truff - squeeeeeeeeeee!

Thanks for bra advice - I braved Debenhams (there's one here rather than having to go into nearby city for JL/Bravissimo) so now have a couple of nicely fitting bras, still with underwire! The assistant who measured me said she wore underwires all through her pregnancies with no ill effects so although she couldn't officially advise me to have them she wasn't going to try and stop me. It just seems so silly spending money on things that probably won't fit again in a month or so. Ho hum.

Now I knew in theory that pregnancy hormones mashed your brain, but I never expected to be this dozy. Thus far this week I have:
scraped the car along the trolley shelter in Sainsbury's car park when trying to park
forgotten everyone in the world's surname
stood outside a door at work, key in hand, alarm code completely gone from my brain. I could remember the ones for buildings I rarely unlock, but the one I'm in most often, not a hope. Fortunately my colleague didn't laugh toooo much when I phoned him for it.
taken post to a meeting for colleagues and brought it straight home again (which to be fair is about normal)
dropped a kettle full of (fortunately cold) water on the floor, creating a mini flood and now a slippery floor I've already fallen over on once.

Can I have my brain back please?!

Scorpette · 17/03/2011 18:00

Don't worry, Occers, it happens to all of us - I used to pride myself on my near-photographic memory but last month, when filling out a form, I forgot my own middle name! I had to ring my parents to ask Blush What's worse is that I knew what letter it began with and still couldn't work it out! And of course, it is the quintessential 70s girl middle name, so not like it's weird! DURR or wot?!

In fact, I've probably told this anecdote before, but can't remember! Still, at least if I have, everyone else will probably have forgotten too, ha ha Wink

rocketleaf · 17/03/2011 18:19

Luffly new fred, ta muchos meddlesome Tis the one where you will lay, SQUEEEEEEEE!

ocars at least you didnt put the wrong kind of fuel in your car almost killing it Wink (yet)

Just back from dentist, apparently I have differs gingivitis much to TBs amusement. He has to have a filling in a few weeks though so that's karma for you. My gums ache now (he gave them a bit of a going over) and I have to start flossing (which I hate doing cos it makes my gums sore and its messy) Oh well, its a small thing I spose.

Ocarina · 17/03/2011 18:26

Scorps now that is impressive forgetfulness!

Rocket I shall blame you if I manage the wrong fuel thing, for putting the idea into my befuddled head.

TH has threatened to barricade me in my study with access only to the downstairs loo, on the basis that I can't do much damage there.... He ceased to think this was such a good idea when I pointed out he'd have to make his own tea!

Casserole · 17/03/2011 19:00

I haz nothing to report except that my life is one long braxton hicks this week and it is making me tres grumpy. But I wanted to book my place on the noo fred for Medee news, which I predict will come.... tomorrow.

I want new bras. Mine suck. My boobs look shite at the moment. But there's REALLY no point right now, is there...

HighPriestessBoo · 17/03/2011 20:00

Still time for a St Patricks day sneeze then Med? :o

MrBoo narrowly missed being named Patrick. His birthday is tomorrow. His Dad would have insisted on a Paddy name, being oirish and all :)

Boo to one long Braxton Hicks Cass :(

oooh, look at you on t'list Truffles :o

And what does NOT mean anyway?

Ocarina · 17/03/2011 22:33

Not as in not list? I think it's because BESHes long ago decided they didn't like lists, so don't have them, but it got confusing trying to keep up with who was when in PESHland, so it's a not-list that only gets updated for each new thread rather than every 3rd post. But I may have got that story mixed up. Or you may have been talking about some other kind of not.

Cass can you console yourself with the thought of lovely new nursing bras v soon? Boo to the BHs though.

HighPriestessBoo · 17/03/2011 23:17

Cheers Ock. I thought it was another acronym :o

Muser · 17/03/2011 23:36

Just marking my spot so I don't miss medee news.

Scorpette · 18/03/2011 01:21

Ahhhh, THIS fred saves me asking in a few months time... Grin

rocketleaf · 18/03/2011 07:26

:o I can't believe this hadn't actually occured to me yet (must be losing my touch). Now I think it will probably be the 2nd photo to get posted to FB after newborn pics.

milanomum · 18/03/2011 08:55

Fabulous fred meds!
Scorps HAHAHAHAHA!
I have broken my keyboard: Have to have caps on to write like this and my mouse doesn?t work anymore:::HELP ANYONE?

OCCY i still haven?t got my brain back after giving birth two and a half years ago:

owlbooty · 18/03/2011 09:13

Milano you could try pouring tea over it? I have found in the past that pouring tea on keyboard tends to result in what you're currently suffering so maybe it works in reverse too?

Occy and Scorps I too am suffering from brain-fade. I suspect it's got nothing to do with the updiffedness and everything to do with the lack of decent sleep which always turns me into a zombie. I've pinged the hubcab off my car whilst parking, forgotten my own phone number and the most worrying thing is my vocabulary has shrunk as I can't remember the bloody words for anything. Giving talks to people at work has now become a terrifying concept as I also can't remember what I've just said.

Now it's Friday and I'm going to settle in to stare at Meds for the day. C'mon MiniMeds. Any time now, pliz?

Went to see a play last night and bits of it were quite loud (thunder and lightening effects etc). Could feel Owlet doing some form of extreme gymnastics in my innards. :)

Ps. Bites top marks on the flower-arranging. Grin

Muser · 18/03/2011 11:02

On new fred:

Hmm, Medee is very quiet. ARE YOU LAYING MEDS?

rocketleaf · 18/03/2011 11:20

muse heard anything from the docs? Hope Bobkate is continuing to be her normal gorgeous self today. (do you realise if i wasn't diffed i would probably be trying to track you down and steal her right now)

Medee · 18/03/2011 11:20

NO!

I do love that moustache thread. MrM has threatened to do the same to me when I am sleeping in, the git!

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 18/03/2011 11:21

Booo! Meds (although i am hoping for a sweepstake win on sunday)

Ivegotmrbitey · 18/03/2011 11:23

I have been giggling over that too score but am ashamed that it hadn't even occured to me.

I had differs gingivitis too rockchick my dentist gave me these as flossing was too sore. She also recommended a fluoride mouthwash for after lunch to keep my teeth clean but give my gums a break from brushing. Not that I brush my teeth after lunch. It got much much better within two days, hope yours does too - it's a special kind of annoying isn't it?

milano not a clue sorry, but spraying it with dettol anti bac spray will also produce the same effect.

I am on stirke today and still in bed. Perfect for a days medee watching.

rocketleaf · 18/03/2011 11:37

Oh thanks for the tips. I was wondering about mouth wash, will get some. Also I have to be careful as the gums are receeding on one side cos of over zealous brushing rather than the gingivitis. So I am stuck between needing to brush and being careful not to over do it.

On strike? Lovely day for it!! Get out in the garden. ( with a blankey, best of both worlds)

Muser · 18/03/2011 11:38

No news yet rocket. We had to go back yesterday so they could get a third sample using a catheter, to make sure it wasn't contaminated. Waiting on results from that.

Right now you are welcome to BobKate. However that does require cleaning up the rivers of wee and poo that exploded all over the change mat and surrounding area. She got put in the bath as quickest cleaning solution. Enjoy.

LadyGoneGaga · 18/03/2011 11:44

House is on market, PESHes. And now stressed as have an open day tomorrow with 6 people coming round so we have to try and declutter everywhere and move the broken washing machine etc etc out of the back garden tonight. and cleasn evrywhere. Wish me luck. Domestic goddessery not my thang. Plus boiler still broken to need to find a way of pretending my house is not freezing to potential buyers (obv not good to tell them the boiler is on the blink). Will put gas fire and oven on downstairs and move the one blow heater from room to room upstairs all morning.

Are you feeling ok though, Meds? Totally fed up or coping?

I wish I could go on stroike, Bitey. You're a researcher, aren't you? Maybe I could do a wildcat strike in sympathy with your plight?

SPD people. I had to run to catch train back from London yesterday. Since then I feel like I have been kicked viciously in the minge and am walking a bit funny. Does this point to pelvic ishooos or am I paranoid?

My gums bleed a bit most of the time whether diffed or not. Yuck.

rocketleaf · 18/03/2011 11:44

Right, hand her over. Oh, i am soooo looking forward to poonamis!!!

In further poo new, I am having a great day today as I just managed to do one without any pain or bleeding which hasn't happened for a while (TMI?) Mazing how it fills one with a sense of wellbeing :o

Medee · 18/03/2011 11:45

Good luck, GG

feeling OK, bit tired from the trip to Sainsbury's this morning, and a little impatient but biding my time.

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 18/03/2011 11:46

Bah! Is raining here! The cat has joined me in bed now, really appreciating the cuddle but am anxious about his history of puking!

Aw muse poor bobkate and you, hope the catheter wasn't too bad and that any problems can be sorted quickly. I have got my rose tinted glasses firmly wedged on as I just went "aww" at the thought of a mucky baby being put gingerly in the bath! Feel free to point and laugh at my meltdown in approx twenty two weeks.
