Did anyone spot the moon last night? I couldn't believe how bright and low it was, whenever I got up for a pee. I might have flashed my bump in its path to see if the gravitational pull helps!

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 18/03/2011 12:02

Ooh yes, join me on my picket line gaga Really sorry about the minge kicking feeling, hopefully you have just pulled a little something and wil recover soon and not have the SPD. Take it easy on the domestic godessery. My top tip for having a lovely home is to delegate all tasks to friends and family (just call me anthea turner).

Good poo news rockcake Grin

medee my BIL has a theory about the moon and laying and he always manages to predict laying days. I will try and remember it without having to ask him becausehe is a twunt and makes me murderous

Medee · 18/03/2011 12:11

well, it's a super full moon this weekend, so hopefully this bodes well, although it may just mean fighting for the use of the pool.

Hope you get good results v soon, Muser for my new daughter.

Hehe, perhaps inspired by the 'tache fred, I dreamt that The Lad was a few months old and had wild hair (which is entirely poss, thinking of my old baby pics), so I dressed him in a black babygro and black pram shoes and smeared some red lippy round his mouth and took him out as Robert Smith Grin I am a bad, bad mummy already.

I also dreamt that I was Mitchell's girlfriend, but instead of lots of rampant sex, he wanted to dump me. Can you sue your own unconscious mind for severe disappointment?!

Gingivitis and receding gums are shit, Rocket. I've had both for ages and nowt seems to sort it. I have slightly goofy front teeth and my gums have receded over them making them even more Bugs Bunny Angry Yours will not do this, do not worry; I am too lazy with flossing and all that shebazzle. Although I have started using a leccy toothbrush, which is really good.

I have a bit of toothache and am going to the dentist next Tues. For those of you who haven't seen my FB status, my Dad has this lifelong joke about the time 2.30 being 'Chinese dentist time' Brilliantly, I am seeing Mr Wong at 2.30! My Dad just roared with laughter when I told him Grin

Mum says he was telling everyone on holiday in Morocco about his first grandchild being imminent - and she means everyone; wizened old men in the souk, coach drivers, waiters, the lot Grin Said he was even miming 'baby' to those who couldn't speak English. He is adorably mental.

Scorpette · 18/03/2011 12:36

Good luck, GG, I meant to add. My SPD feels like I'm wearing a sort of girdle around my groin that makes me walk like a delicate Victorian laydee and that there's not much power to help me walk in my front pelvic bone, if that makes any sense. It also hurts there too. You might've just overstretched some already preggo-stretched ligaments by running

Ivegotmrbitey · 18/03/2011 13:16

medee apparently tomorrow night there will be a supermoon the biggest it has been for 18 years. Spot of moon bathing maybe?

milanomum · 18/03/2011 20:22

Well meds, is the moon having any effect? It is rather big and round over here this evening.

Gee hope it's just you overdoing things and nothing else.
All I can complain about is that I have this one feckin' muscle which goes down one side of my bump at an angle and if I turn over too quick in bed it really, really hurts! Just that one place though Confused

scorps how sweet is your dad?!

I would like 'something nice' right now but can't quite find anything to fit the bill.

rocketleaf · 18/03/2011 21:19

Tis amazing clear night here too with huge man in the moon and lots of stars. I have just been out for dinner with two of my best friends, they have just gone to get the train home. I am reflecting on the fact that we would just have been getting started on the 2nd bottle of wine, back in the olden days (ie 6 months ago)

It was lovely but I am way too full and glad I didn't get tempted by the bread and butter pudding. First thing I am gonna do when Sprout is born is go for a 3 course meal!

score your dad is funny in a proper 'dad' way. He more and more reminds me of my friends dad (think I have mentioned this)

Good luck with the house shizzle GG Tomorrow sounds a bit stressful but will be worth it once you are settled in your lovely new family home all together.

rocketleaf · 18/03/2011 21:54

Also AIBU to think that reading Brave New World while diffed might not be the best plan? The opening chapter made me feel a bit sick :( and I am not normally a squeamish person. Will persever tho.

Scorpette · 19/03/2011 00:11

BNW defo not a good idea for differ hormones, Rocket! Glad you've had a lovely night out :)

My Dad is v funny in all ways (some not deliberate Wink). Both my folks are hilarious, actually. My Mum is a strange mix of drily sardonic and accidentally hilarious through being naive. She uses the fact that she is delicate-looking, super-sweet, v middle-class and girly-voiced as an excuse to 'unknowingly' shock people. And she always looks super-sharp, which I'm always proud of (think mini-Mary Portas). Had to balance out the parental boasting and big her up too Grin

PollyPoo · 19/03/2011 09:38

Scorps just popping in to say I luff your dad. And where is Meds? Have you laid yet?

Ivegotmrbitey · 19/03/2011 10:21

Your folks sound lovely scorpy and SO excited!

I'm off pram shopping in a bit with my mum, not looking forward to bring overwhelmed by too much choice and all the must haves that I had never considered. Am looking forward to clucking like a good un!

Morning medee Smile

Ginfox · 19/03/2011 11:26

Scorps you're folks do sound ace, but am always V jealous of anyone who looks sharply turned out at all times. Even with maximum effort I always look as if I've thrown on my clothes, raked my hair - with an actual rake - and dashed out of the door.

Bitester pram shopping is overwhelming. We got a Mothercare travel system based on the following: it's a 3 wheeler for off-roading; it's big, heavy and robust, and feels like it will last several years of hard wear; it was half-price. And I'm well pleased with it - just what we wanted.

It does feel like a helluva lot of money, so you do feel the pressure to get it right. But you can always ebay it if you really hate what you've ended up with.

Ginfox · 19/03/2011 11:28

How did I manage to type "you're" when I clearly meant "your"? Need coffee quick. Blush

rocketleaf · 19/03/2011 14:56

Ah score your folks sounds SO lovely!! (i want them to adopt me) I know TBs dad is also dead excited and is going round the village telling everyone he is going to be a grandad again :o I wish my dad was more like that but I know hes not himself at the mo so I'm not holding it against him and mu is excited enough for the both of them.

I am just back from theNCT nearly new sale and it was AMAZE!! I got a spotless Samsonite pop up travel cot for 15 quid, and a massive bag of clothes and bedding for another £15, including a brand new M&P sheet with bunnies all over it, in the right colour for the nursery. Its so cute! Mostly picked up clothes that were a bit older as already have loads of stuff for the first few months and there is another one in October which will be perfect timing for winter stuff but could resist as it was all so bargainous!

Bit shopped out now and wondering if its even worth doing the JL nursery advisor thing tomorrow.

LadyGoneGaga · 19/03/2011 15:09

Sounds like you got some bargains at NCT, Rocket. Have still never got round to going to one!

Stressful part of day over. Had loads of people traipsing through the house, nosing in cupboards etc. annoyingly the agent told me the wrong time so was still running round finishing off stuff at 1:30 when they all showed up. D'oh. But luckily just needed 5 mins to put hoover away etc and even though hadn't mopped kitchen floor yet hopefully is ok. Now await the feedback!

We have 5 houses to look at tomorrow so hopefully will find a lovely house too.

Enjoy pram shopping, Bitey! I'm still wavering on whether to get a new pram or not. Probably not as nowt wrong with old one Sad

Where is Mistress Medee? Hopefully laying right now. Beautiful spring day to have a baby on I reckon.

Ginfox · 19/03/2011 15:37

Good luck with the house-hunting LadyG. We had a viewing on my house this morn (currently being rented out), and the viewers made an offer of £7k below asking. Estate Agent said we should accept it as we were unlikely to get better. House has been on market for less than 24hrs, and is on at a price He fucking suggested! What a tool! I hate estate agents!

Anyway good luck.

Glad you had successful trip Rocket. Going to NCT sale next weekend so hope for similar success. A parcel arrived from the lovely people at M&S the other day, containing mega-cute baby vests (some newborn, some 0-3m). DH casually mentioned that I had already got some. This is true, and brings our total to 15. I explained patiently that the foxcub would have no problem in puking his or her way through the entire collection in one day, and actually we could do with getting some more before D-day. Someone is in for a shock methinks. And I hope he doesn't think I'm all done shopping, cos I haven't started yet. Wink

LadyGoneGaga · 19/03/2011 16:26

Hold out...see if they come back with a higher offer.

Good luck to you too - have you found somewhere?

Ivegotmrbitey · 19/03/2011 16:48

Pram shopping was very confusing! I have been to two big baby shops and would like to say for the record that mothercare has bloody awful service One woman was convinced I was looking for a pushchair for twins and nothing I could say would convince her otherwise! I have learned a lot about tandem carriers but unless I put the cat in the other seat it would be a bit of a waste.

I did quite fancy the silvercross surf and the icandy apple jogger for their all terrain features (only thing on my list was that I have to be able to get it up and down sand dunes). Might go have a look in the pushchair topic but they do get a bit technical in there.

Hope the house selling goes well gaga it sounds promising, and foxylady I would also hold out if it has only been 24 hours. I hate estate agents too. In fact I hate everyone that has ever tried to sell me anything.

Shopping sounds fab rocket will be googling the NCT now.

I wonder if minime medee is wrapped in a fluffy white towl yet?

Medee · 19/03/2011 17:31

MiniMedee is safely ensconced in my uterus, unfortunately. It is indeed a lovely spring day, so have done lots of walking in the home of jiggling him/her out.

We bought our pram via Mothercare, mainly cos the girl demonstrating was brilliant and the price-match online prices, but you really do get the luck of the draw. It took me four phone calls and a trip to the store to get the final bit of my order, a week and a half after the original delivery.

I have missed our local NCT sales so far, but the next is at the end of May which is hopefully ideal time for all the "next stage" stuff we'll need.

Ginfox · 19/03/2011 17:39

Sand dunes! Think you need something motorised Bitey. That is shurely going to be tough with any buggy.

GG it's my second house that's up for sale. Not cos I'm a property magnate or nuffink. I bought it years ago, then almost immediately met Mr F and moved in with him, renting mine out. Now my luffly tenants are moving out - although why they think a small 1 bed house is too small for them and a toddler, god knows! - and I don't want the hassle of finding new tenants who might be horrible and trash the joint. Don't need the aggro just now.

Hope Medee is having cuddles right now, although it would mean that everyone else moves up a space

Ginfox · 19/03/2011 17:42

Ahh sorry Meds. But a saturday night is perfect for a good hot curry to help things along. How is that supposed to work anyway? Does the chilli cause enough internal discomfort for baybee to make a sharp exit?

Medee · 19/03/2011 17:51

it allegedly irritates your bowel sufficiently to get various contractions moving. A spicy pizza (last Saturday), curry (wednesday) and fajitas (last night) have made no difference, so I suspect it is bollocks unless baby is ready to be born.

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 19/03/2011 17:57

Sorry meds! Sounds you like you have one comfy baybee in there!

ginsling you are quite right, I am going to have get one of these Just need a roomy basket for shopping and wil be perfect Smile

Ginfox · 19/03/2011 18:00

Sounds like my kind of diet Meds.
