Morning all! Big congrates to casio on the arrival of midikeyboard She is gorgeous!!!! So glad you had a better experience this time round. I like the sound of the private room, how did you swing that? (i am guessing you have to pay?)

score hope you got the plan sorted out. I love biteys suggestion and hope you went the whole hog and wrote it out in fountain pen on vellum :o

good luck on 2nd scan today biteme let us know how it goes.

polster 11 weeks!! Goodness, that has gone quick, she'll be needing a whole new wardrobe soon then? Wink

have a lovely holibobs muse shortbread you say? You will be bringing us some back right?

meds no word this morning? pacing for you today, hope the sechs has done the trick over night!

Medee · 22/03/2011 10:16

Morning all. No different here today. The sechs was not entirely successful but at least I got an orgasm - TMI? Things definitely felt a lot different down there from last time we tried.

Had a lovely email from one of the NCT girls (we share a MW) who had heard I still was waiting, so am hopefully meeting them later for a walk or coffee - so will be snuggling someone's newborn even if it isn't my own.

Enjoy Scotland,
Muse

ooh, update, I appear to have a little bit of a show.

OP posts:
Medee · 22/03/2011 12:18

although, if it is a bit brown, it's probably just blood from the sweep yesterday rather than something fresh.

ment, ment, ments for Scotland.

OP posts:
PollyPoo · 22/03/2011 12:36

Ooh ooh oooooh! Hope this is the start for you Meds!

Rocket BB is on her 3rd wardrobe... the newborn stuff lasted a matter of weeks, most of her 0-3 months stuff is too small so she is now wearing some 3-6 months. I bought her some cute things in the sale from loveitloveitloveit. I bought varying sizes, depending on what was availabel . I tried a romper suit on her today, age 6-12 months. It was too big, but not by much! I think the tumble dryer shrunk it quite a bit, but even so, she is rather long. Not really surprising though, given that TG is 'normous and I am not exactly doll-like. Unfortunately.

Can't believe you are second on the list now Scorpelina! And knowing your family's history of early lays I predict.... you will be 2 weeks late. Wink How was the shopping expedition? What did you buy? Have you sorted out any viewings on houses yet? Really hope you can move before The Lad arrives, would be lovely for you.

I can't watch OBEM any more. And just by the teeth comments, I am rather glad.

Muse have a brilliant time in Scotland. Once you have survived the travelling there will be nothing you can't do.

owlbooty · 22/03/2011 12:52

I think Boden are evil and trying to make me spend money. Damn them. Given what you've just said Pols perhaps I should buy it in a 3-6 month to try and get some wear out of it.

Meds that sounds v.promising, fingers crossed it is The Beginning Grin

I only saw the teeth last night on OBEM. It was enough.

owlbooty · 22/03/2011 13:05

BiteyMcBitersons I demand scan news.

Also whether it is the blue or the pink sort. I need to sort out potential future PESHwife for Owlet. So far I have lined up Bob and BB and Chobaybee. But there seem to be more blue baybees in here than pink.

LadyGoneGaga · 22/03/2011 13:14

Exciting, Meds. Any tightenings? My show was mucusy (like clear snot I think) with blood in it, gave birth the next morning Grin. Owt like that?

I have a bunch of second viewings coming back to view the house tonight en masse (we had 11 couples at open day on Saturday) so keep fingers crossed. Am torn between wanting time to go fast so I get my baybee and slow so I can move house in time! What will be will be I s'pose.

That is very cute, Owlster but no way would I spend that money on one top! I reckon Tesco, Sainos, Asda (and even Primark) et al do great kids clothes especially when they are growing out of stuff so fast.

Definitely got pelvic ishoos - really sore at yoga last night and couldn't do any of the leg lifting stuff. Can't stride about menacingly like normal either. Got midwife appt next week so will mention. Anyone seen a chiropractor for such things? I also read can be good if you had positioning issues in labour last time - maybe worth a go anyway?

At home for lunch as had to let the boiler man in (again)! Been 5 days with no heat or hot water now Hmm They seem to have pulled in some hefty looking parts this time so fingers crossed...

PollyPoo · 22/03/2011 13:15

Boden are evil Boots - I want this

Yep, I would definitely recommend putting babyBoots in bodysuits for first few months and saving the good stuff until maybe 6-12 months - it makes shelling out £30 for an outfit a bit more palatable when you know it will last ages. Or maybe I am just tight broke.

PollyPoo · 22/03/2011 13:19

I also have to admit that most of Boo and BB's clothes are hand-me-downs from friends with good taste more money than sense. I heart free stuff - means more money to spend on shoes for myself. Wink

Good luck with the viewings and the boiler GG, hope you get it sorted, that sucks big time.

Meds my show was also snot-like with a tinge of blood with Boo and she was born early next morning. Fingers x'd for you. I will ensure the brie, pate and champagne are put out ready for you in the creche. Grin

Medee · 22/03/2011 13:28

It's more blood than snot, but still hopeful it is more than just a product of the poking about up there Wink. Have had the same twinges I have been having on and off for a week. I feel like it is a race between my body and the NHS now!

Lovely Boden clothes. My drawers are stocked with sleepsuits, vests and leggings and little else. The proper clothes can wait.

We had an exercise at yoga which might help GG - it was exaggerated strides around the room. You walk with hands on hips, legs opened out, and really elongate the stride to the side and front, with feet very flexed.

OP posts:
owlbooty · 22/03/2011 13:31

Oh, I've already shopped at Tescos Grin . Pols that is gorgeous.

I wish I had friends with good taste/expanding baybees/a generous nature. Sadly I do not.

GG I also struggled a bit at pilates last night with the leg-related stuff. I think my hips and lower back are not happy about the sudden expansion. I wonder if it's just the weight we are currently piling on (and yes, I have finally started gaining pounds)?

Ivegotmrbitey · 22/03/2011 13:31

oooh meds maybe a baybee?

Scan is in an hour and ten minutes owlie will send you a complicated form for owlet to fill in for an arranged marriage Grin and yes boden are evil!

Thanks for being able to read my rubbish ipod typing cluck! Glad to know that epidural doesn't = that glazed face. I am certainly not discounting one quite fancy one actually but did feel a bit Hmm about how limp the mothers seemed. I hadn't been paying that much attention though so exhaustion is good explanation. I thought junky as soon as I saw those teeth too.

The house viewings sounds most promising gaga but I'm sorry to hear about your pelvic ishoos. If you can't stride menacingly you will have to practise your basilisk glare.

Must go have last wee before scan!

Medee · 22/03/2011 13:38

Stop linking to gorgeous Boden clothes!

My newborn snuggling for this afternoon has been cancelled - had better get on with producing my own then!

Hope the scan goes well, Bity

Scorpette · 22/03/2011 13:43

Oooooh, a bit of a show for Medee! V excited now - although not as excited as I would be if Pol hadn't reminded me that I'm next on the list! Shock How did THAT happen?!

Hang in there, Meds, no need to rush

Sorry to hear your pelvis is playing up, GG. I like your 'striding menacingly' comment, because that's what really pisses me off about my SPD; having to mince about when I normally walk v forthrightly and fast. Good luck with the house viewings - 11 in one day must've been a bit stressy!

I have bought far too many cute things for The Lad - all tops, no trews! - but I have bought stuff in all different sizes. I like JL stuff but Tesco do some really cute and good quality stuff for cheapo prices. I think the boy's stuff is actually better than the girls (seems to be all sugar-pink princess stuff). Boden kids' clothes are insanely gorg - but spendy too Sad

I emailed the person I was seeing and she printed it out. Together, we've come up with a fab plan. Many of the things I've worried about they don't even do there and they're v anti-induction, pro-lactation specialist type-a gals there. They're also the type to crack out the drucks when requested/needed and they do mainly mobile epidurals, etc. She answered all my questions and I also got a quick private tour of a typical birthing suite, the birthing pool (no sign of the sieve!) and the patient hotel where you stay if you lay at night. I've stayed in far worse hotels than their facilities! I do feel much more confident and in control and now I have something official so that I don't have to explain all my probs and needs to someone new when half out of my mind with pain and G&A, etc. My hossie's antenatal unit isn't known as one of the best in the UK for nowt :)

Chinese dentist at 2.30 for me. Another lifetime's ambition achieved Grin

Scorpette · 22/03/2011 13:45

Sorry, meant to add good luck for the scan, Biters!

LadyGoneGaga · 22/03/2011 13:46

Good luck for scan, Bitey.

Yes, got on with it Meds! Serve the eviction papers.

Not sure about the weight stuff with me, Owlie. as you know have piled it on but did last time too and had no issues. Will ask t'midwife anyways.

Where is Score today, she seems quiet.

And where is Mountie? Hope she's doing ok.

Medee · 22/03/2011 13:47

that sounds ace, Scorps.

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 22/03/2011 13:51

Yes, that really sounds fab score And in the nick of time really seeing as you are number two on the list Grin

owlbooty · 22/03/2011 14:04

GG My mum said the hip pain got more noticable with each baby (I'm one of three). Always worth asking midwife, I'll also be interested in what she says given we're at a similar stage. My hips are shite anyway.

Scorps glad it all went well - you have to bring your own sieve don't you? Grin Which reminds me; YOU ARE NUMBER TWO! How v.v.exciting :)

I have bought a Boden dinosaur tshirt but it is mainly for me to coo over rather than for the baybee's enjoyment. I shall be buying all his other clobber from t'supermarket.

I also was wondering where Mountie was. Should we send out a search party?

Orchid12 · 22/03/2011 14:04

Medee so it looks we may have progress

I have bought squidge the first outfit yesterday. Mr O was impressed which was an bonus. Have been cooing insanely at how small it is! Mini O asked if it was for him and was a bit put out when I said he was too big for it Smile.

Scorps glad you had a good hossie visit. I had my antenatal classes there and also went to visit a good friend who had to be kept in before and after birth (and who stayed in the patient hotel). 'Tis all very nice and it makes labour so much less of a worry if you feel happy in the surroudings, so am pleased you liked it! I need to contact mine at 34 weeks to arrange to go and have a look round and ask questions etc. I'm very keen to go and have a look as I am a control freak I want to be able to visualise how things might pan out before the big day. Enjoy seeing Dentist Wong!

Orchid12 · 22/03/2011 14:06

P.S: Biteme make sure you hurry back after the scan and let us know how you got on!

Scorpette · 22/03/2011 15:33

Disaster! Mr Wong was ill, saw Mr Ahmed Sad Thwarted!

Nah, it was okay - I have some preggo gingivitis making my toof sensitive. Just glad it's not an abscess or owt like that. Can't have the mouthwash and toothpaste I need as they contain sweeteners, which I'm 'lergic to, but I've said I'm willing to try them after laying (TBF, I said I'd try them now, cos I know it wouldn't be a reaction that could affect The Lad, but the dentist wasn't keen). So, just got to put up with the odd twinge for a few months. Meh, it's nuffink. Sadly, he can't do anything about the fact that I have novelty Medieval Peasant-look choppers but you can't win 'em all.

Oh yeah, and a bloke at the reception desk started chatting me up - I thought he was just being daft or summat but he was properly, quite forcefully chatting me up; he even asked me if I knew what I'm having and when I said 'boy', he went 'aww, I've always wanted a son' in a really wistful manner. Shock Hmm LOON.

Love the thought of you and Mr O melting over the teeny-tiny baby outfit, OurKid. Poor old Mini O, having to deal with the usurper* Grin

LALALA not listening to talk of my poshish on the list

*'The Usurper' is what I call my brother. I really should ask him one of these days if he minds Blush Wink

Ocarina · 22/03/2011 17:13

I'm feeling v slow at keeping up with you all, so apologies if I miss anything important. But a big hooray and congratulations to Cass on the arrival of the very gorgeous tinystewpot. Hope minimed is getting his/her act together to make an appearance soon too.

Owlie I think Mountie is a bit busy with work (possible understatement of the year!).

The clothes are all just too cute. I'm caught between wanting to buy everything in sight and not wanting to end up with too much/unsuitable stuff, but given I don't have a clue what we'll need that's not all that much help. I'm also aware that we will get bought stuff (I'm trying not to assume, in that I'm not going to be offended if no-one buys us anything, but experience tells me people do, and as my sister points out this will be the first baby in either of our families for 25 years or so, so much excitement is brewing) but obviously I don't have a clue what. So I reckon I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy more small stuff at least.

I've had 2 trips to the hospital in the last 24 hours which seems excessive! Last night we went to a group physio class, supposedly for people at about 16 weeks but I reckon I was the earliest by a couple of weeks at least, and there was a girl there at 34. The physio was v useful, with lots of tips on posture etc to try and avoid problems later (or help if they've started already), but they started with a chat from the midwife about common health issues in early pregnancy, which seemed a bit of a waste of time given the audience....

Then this morning I was back to have my heart scanned which was pretty dull because I couldn't see anything but everything's OK which is good to know. More excitingly she then decided to scan the baby just so we could have a look (I guess babies are more interesting than hearts!). So I got an unexpected look, and was far more excited by the whole thing than my first scan when I was mostly just relieved. I can't get over how much more detail we could see despite the scanner being set at the wrong frequency so it not being as clear as the ante-natal scans. S/he was wriggling nicely and you could clearly see the heartbeat. So I've been wandering round grinning for the rest of the day.
