Strange that straightforward, I'm a gemini working in IT an I have had my pc failures today than the last 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!

IamBlossom · 04/01/2006 14:34

Straightforward, that ALWAYS happens to me when I light my motivation candle, don't stress

dangirl · 04/01/2006 20:14

Had appointment today at premature clinic.
Not too much happened really. Thought I would get a scan of my cervix, but apparantly those are not done routinely. There is a study going at the moment which I can enter and that would mean a 50 % chance of cervical scans from 16 weeks. Have to let them know by next week. Not sure if I really want to enter or not.
Also I have been given some progesterone vaginal pessaries to insert every day of pregnancy from 16 weeks onwards. Reduces risk of contractions.
Will have to go back again next week to discuss more. One more trip to the hospital...

Still feeling well here sympathise with those of you not feeling great.

13 + 4 today - but still feeling paranoid. Can't wait for the kicking to begin remember it starting early with DD. Something like 15-16 weeks.

Nice with so many of us by now.

kbaby - it must be worrying for you with the spotting. Luckily it means nothing in most cases. A big positive that you have seen the heart beat! Keeping my fingers x-ed for you!

lilianna · 05/01/2006 12:57

hi ladies, sorry i haven't been on for a while had the mil staying for 2weeks (never again).
Hope your pgs are going well. I'm 13+1 today.
Have my booking in appointment on 16/01/06.

kbaby · 05/01/2006 20:47

Dangirl Hope you dont mind me asking but how early did you have your last lo if your being monitored this time?

iamblossom, my scans at 11am, what time is yours?

HC from what I can remember about the doppler. I found it really quickly and was surprised at how loud it was at 14 weeks but then 1 week later I realised that id been listening to the blood in an artery in my groin as it was more of a pulsing sound, anyway after a bit of digging around I managed to find it very low down almost at the start of your pubic hair(sorry) somedays I couldnt find it and would have to search again where the baby had moved. If you log on to the babybeats web site I think they give directions and also examples of the sounds.

I havent bled anymore since Tuesday so keeping my fingers crossed that it wasnt anything serious.

maewest · 05/01/2006 21:03

Hi ladies, hope all of you are feeling ok. Having a due date right at the end of July I feel a little behind the rest of you... But the big news from me is I had booking appt with mw this morning! Hurrah!

Forgive me for getting excited, but this is all new to me. I never knew that there were so many leaflets and booklets available on the subject of pregnancy and babies

dangirl · 05/01/2006 22:18

Evening ladies
Hope all are feeling well!

Kbaby - glad to hear things are going better.
My DD was born at 31 +5 in 2002. Quite a surprise! - to say the least. Never found at the reason for this. Hopefully it won't happen again.
Luckily she is absolutely fine today and you would never know that she was a premature baby!

Maewest - hope booking-in went well. Yes there is a lot to take in

On my way to bed now. Really tired.

Hugs,
Dangirl

Morning everyone

Hope everyone is well and feeling as chipper as me!!! Morning sickness is deffo gone and i feel normal again . Commiserations to anyone still suffering you have my sympathy.
I'm 11 weeks today and starting to be a bit excited about babe now. Told the boys just before xmas and they were not at all happy. They couldn't see why we would want another baby when their baby sister was so perfect and they didn't think they would be able to love another baby. However they have been asking how many weeks i am and can i feel the baby moving so i think they are coming round to the idea thank goodness.

HumphreysCorner · 06/01/2006 11:27

Morning ladies

kbaby-hope you are OK. I checked out the doppler sight-still can't hear much but my device was only cheap so not a proper doppler-they are too expensive. ((xx))

Am 14+6 and still feel nauseous-not as bad though . Supposed to be ironing but have been on here for hours so going to have to go.

Have tried to tell DD about her having a baby brother and she keeps saying no! Too late now methinks.

Anyway, hope all is well.

Byee for now.

HC and Kayzed - I remember being singularly unimpressed when my mum announced that I would soon be having a new baby bro or sis. I was about 7 and I think my exact words were 'what if it turns out like X' (existing little bro), who I didn't really get on with at the time.

By the time 2nd DB arrived I was very excited about the baby and went around with my Tiny Tears doll stuffed up my jumper for some time

have good weekends ladies

bumpybel · 06/01/2006 20:30

Evening all! What are the doppler things you're all talking about? What do they do?
... Felt soo sick on wed following vom-a-thon on tues night that i went to docs. It was tummy bug. That lead to mad panic that i had damaged bump with poisons (my panic, that was). Floods of tears later, convinced that I had subjected bump to dangerous food products, doc advised that all the heaving and stress might have done baby good!!! Decided that far too poorly to go to work and needed to make sure bump was nice and safe!
Still have nagging headache though and semi regular morning sickness. HC how come everyone else seems to be feeling better apart from us? It all seems very unfair!!

Im still feeling sick but it is getting better. The tiredness has passed aswell. Im 11 weeks today.
Anyone wearing maternity clothes yet? I cant do any of my buttons up but feel a bit of a fraud wearing my maternity trousers already.

A doppler is the fetal heart monitor. Its what the mw uses to listen to the babies heartbeat. You can hire them to use at home at around £25 per month.

Thanks Kayzed for reassurance. Its nice to hear other people are still feeling rough too! (not in a nasty way!) I'm itching to get to the high energy, lovely hair, big bump phase! So far it just looks as if I've eaten too many mince pies over christmas and have grown a spare tyre! Nausea and lack of comfort is doing head in!

Kbaby.. I think I'll be looking at mat clothes soon. I'm down to last three outfits that fit already and they have become work and home wear, which is making me feel well scruffy. I dont know where to start looking. Do you go for your pre preg size or try the next size up? I went looking at pushchairs in mothercare last week and there were soo many really preg looking woman, that i felt i had to try and stick out my tummy as much as possible to look as pregnant as possible! DH keeps telling me to eat fruit instead of tasty sweet things, to avoid ballooning! Have been on permanent diet all of life so this feels like good opportunity to eat creamy sauces and deserts!

The heart machines... are they worth hiring?

bumpybel · 06/01/2006 21:51

Kayzed.. are you so slim because of bad morning sickness? At least you should be able to return to lovely shape soon after birth. I'll be destined for a lifetime membership to weight watchers! Morning sickness didnt do much for me weight wise, as i ate absolute junk whenever not heaving.. bit like with hangover!

Blimey Kayzed... that sounds like a nightmare. I'm tall too (5'11)and ten percent weight loss would be loads. You must have a really fast metabolism too. Your morning sickness horror makes my hangover style ones sound like a breeze now! I hope your sickness starts to go soon and you start filling into your mat jeans

spub · 06/01/2006 22:57

Hi Gang,

Finally beginning to feel a bit better though I'm still having blinding headaches.

Nuchal results were, to quote the consutant, "As good as they get" so feeling reassured on that front.
My due date has moved forward to 4th July alongside Bumpybel. Think that makes me 14+3.
Am sooo in my mat gear. It's s trifle roomy but my civilian clothes are now a total joke and I've already gone up a cup size.....

Hope you're all doing as well as possible!

Hi all

Sorry to all those of you who are still feeling rough,i felt awful during last pg,am just grateful that i feel ok now.Is anyone else here still bf whilst pg? My nipples are soooo sore and i can't help but wish my dd would give up.Don't see it happening tho,bet i end up on tandem bf lol.Anyway hope you all feel better soon.

madness · 08/01/2006 11:39

good morning all
Algach, I am still BF as well but not too sore. But remember when pg with dd ds was still bf, and ouch yes, was quite sore...
Having nuchal scan tomorrow, bit anxious as 42 y old... Also, had a "false pos" result with dd, so this time I told dh to come along for moral support (well, he would have last time if it hadn't been during working hours)

HumphreysCorner · 08/01/2006 15:20

Hello ladies

Ooooh BF-ouch. I couldn't face the thought of BF when I had DD so she was bottle fed. The midwife is hassling me again this time so I said I would try the colostrum bit just to shut her up. I have one extremely sore nipple at the moment so sympathise with you BFers.

madness-good luck with your scan tomorrow. you will be fine. Don't understand what you mean about false positive result though ((xx))

Have attempted to start potty training my 2 1/2 yeard old DD-what a nightmare. She weed everywhere but in the potty-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think I will try again in a few weeks.

Perhaps when we all reach the 2nd trimester we should start a new thread-oo er!

Byee for now and love to all.
