Have been dying to start a thread so here goes!

Got a BFP on Wednesday so if all goes well I will be due on the 1st July 2006.

Have 1 DD who is 2 years 3 months and am finally PG again after a MC in June.

Come and join in the fun!

Hi there HC.
Will be 5 weeks on Monday.
Don't feel that pregnant as of yet. Did another test today which was very positive! I am soo hopeful it is going to go well this time!!
Have a great w/e.
Love, Dangirl

Hi dangirl

I did another test this morning which was very bright pink. Did it because I had the most dreadful pains last night so fearing the worst again! Am seeing the midwife on Thursday so will plead for an early scan as if I'm starting to MC again I want to know now and not in 7 weeks time.

Will rest today. Have a restful day yourself (if you can).

Bye for now.

Hi HC.
Hope you have had a good w/e!
Who do you ask for the early scan? Do you contact your GP? (I find mine to be a bit ineffective and slow) or do you contact the EPU yourself? Is it fairly easy to be permitted one? I have had 2 m/c over the last year and as you would prefer to know if there is no heart beat earlier rather than later.

Hi
I am a july 2006 lady as well the first in fact my 40th is on the 28th June so I am not sure if late or early would be better!!!

lindilou · 30/10/2005 20:48

Dodsey · 30/10/2005 20:58

dangirl just contact EPU yourself, they'll see you pretty quick, although I'm sure they told me 7wks was the best time to see anything. But the last time I was there was 4yrs ago so memory may be hazy.Good luck and enjoy !!

dangirl · 30/10/2005 21:01

Thanks Dodsey.
Yes you are right that it is best to wait till at least 7 weeks. Am only 5 weeks tomorrow so still very early. But maybe it is better to contact them early before they get full up.

HumphreysCorner · 30/10/2005 21:27

Welcome lindilou-congratulations to you

BFP = Big Fat Positive (when you get a positive pregnancy test).

It will be a nice 40th birthday present for you. ((xx))

dangirl-as I've only had 1 mc I doubt I will get a scan. Having said that, someone I know had a mc and is 20 weeks now and had 2 scans by 12 weeks so there is hope. I'm sure you have to go through your midwife that is why I am going to see mine on Thursday when I will be 5+5. Gives her chance to get me in the following week.

How is everyone feeling-any symptons yet?

I still have amazingly tender boobs which is something I never had with DD or before my mc. Not sick yet which is usually a big thing for me-hopefully (I'm desperate for symptons-lol) sickness will kick in around 6 weeks.

Have been reading on previous threads about pains and it is quite common but only a scan would put my mind at rest.

Take care all.

Bye for now.

Hi HC
But how have you already got yourself a midwife? Is one attached to your GP?

Diddle · 31/10/2005 08:43

HC - how are you feeling today? any news. i hope all is going ok. If you are desperate for a scan i'd consider a private one, the midwife may not offer you one yet as it is so early, even with your pains. they ahve to follow the rules. The only other way you could get one would be to go to a&e at a decent time, and insist on one and maybe elaborate on the pain you're having. I hoep you can get some reassurance soon. Where abouts are you in the country?

spub · 31/10/2005 09:29

Diddle - how are you? and how did you organise your private scan? I'm in Scotland and want to do this at 7 weeks (can't face the EPU again if I can possible avoid it).

Diddle · 31/10/2005 14:37

spub - i'm good thanks, i know of a local clinic that does private ultrasounds, was told about them on a hopsital visit as the hosp couldn't do the scan but they recommended the private place. i just called up and booked in with them. But i'm in the midlands, i bet theres one in scotland i will have a search of the net.

spub · 31/10/2005 14:46

You're a star.

Diddle · 31/10/2005 14:47

right spub have done some searching, nto sure where in scotland you are but heres what i found.

glasgow scanning

edinburgh scans this one has contact details but the website is under development.

thats all i can find for now, hope it helps. they may even know of a clinic near you, worth trying them, good luck

Chloe55 · 31/10/2005 15:22

Just popping over from February to wish everyone well and can't believe there's a JULY thread!!! Now reality has hit home!! Good luck girls

dangirl · 01/11/2005 09:21

Hopefully everyone has had a good w/e.

Going to the GP today. Will request an early scan with my history of 2 previous MC. Am only 5 weeks + 1 today though so will have to wait a couple of weeks.
So far so good. Feeling well.

Hope you are OK HC and that the pains have gone.

Hugs,
Dangirl

dangirl · 01/11/2005 11:30

Just back from GP. She doesn't think the EPU will grant an early scan when there is no pain/bleeding.
She will write them a letter requesting it, but she says she isn't hopeful.
What a shame! It really would make me feel so much more secure.

It is very quiet here. I am sure more will follow soon.
My Due Date should be 3/7/06.

spub · 01/11/2005 14:57

DG - sorry you won't automatically get a scan. I'm in the same boat ie. want an early scan to reassure that all is well after my m/c in June. Am seriously considering going private, though.

carly82 · 01/11/2005 17:09

HI!
well i previously posted on here but had a bit of a scare thankfully all is well as i had a bfp this morning so if its ok can i officially join the july 2006 thread

dangirl · 01/11/2005 18:26

carly82 a big hello and welcome to you!!! And many congratulations on your bfp!

Spub. I am with you. I am thinking of going private for early scan. Should be around £100. I think it could be money well spend for me if it gives me some peace of mind.

Hope all are well.

Dangirl

lilianna · 01/11/2005 19:29

hi found out i am pg yesterday should be due 11/07/2006

lilianna · 01/11/2005 19:29

how early can you have a private scan done?

dangirl · 01/11/2005 21:03

welcome and congratulations Lilliana!!

As they are private and you pay for them your self you can have them any time you want to. But there will not be much point before 7 weeks were they can usually detect a heartbeat.
