HArley1 - how are you?

maewest · 16/12/2005 19:58

mumsxmaswish - just wanted to say, as others have done, so sorry for your loss and best wishes xxx

Morning ladies

12 weeks today girls

harley1-how are you hun? Thinking of you and remenber we are all here for you. ((xx))

Hugs to mums as well. ((xx))

Does anyone watch Eastenders as I knew Nana Moon was going to die but I must have missed the episode that said what was wrong with her. Does anyone know?

Anyone see Taggart last night as I fell asleep and missed the point of why those 2 men killed the mechanic and what did the man wearing the bullet proof vest at the end have to do with it? Doh! I really should stick to recording and watching during daylight hours.

Snowing here now that I have just hung my sheets out. Have got a works Christmas Dinner tonight-not the Branch I work at though so will be able to confess my news to them.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Lots of love.
xx

mumsxmaswish, sorry to hear that. I hope things work out better next time.

So far ive told 2 close friends at work and 2 close friends at home. Were going to tell Mil and my Mum etc on Xmas Day. Ive bought DD a t shirt and in fabric paint im going to write 'im going to be a big sister' to wear for the day. Im useless at keeping it quiet and figured that if anything went wrong they would be the peo[le I would tell anyway. Ive sworn them to secrecy though.
Im still feeling sick most of the day. Im ok if I eat every 2hrs. I dont like feeling so ill but in a way its reasuring. With DD all my symtoms disappered at 7 weeks and I rushed down the gps and demanded a scan as I was convinced this meant bad news. With this pregnancy im trying to stress out less.
Ive had to undo the top buttons on all my trousers and I got my maternity clothes out of the attic yesterday but theyre far too big.
I cant believe some of you are already 12 weeks, its not fair.

Hope everyones well.

Morning everyone, glad to here your scan went well Harley, sorry about the morning sickness, but as you say its reassuring.

My symptoms seem to be a little better, only feel sick when tired and hungry. Still feel tired but that partly to do with my sciatica in my right leg keeping me a wake at night. The exercises don't seem to work any more! 9 weeks this week so hope I'm on the improving stage now. I think I started improving at roughly this time with DS though can't really remember. Although still felt tired and slightly sick when we where in Lapland at 11/12 weeks but not on a regular basis.

Also in maternity trousers now, I know it I'm going to be hugh this time .

Sorry HC don't get to watch tv at the moment so can't help so there!

HumphreysCorner · 19/12/2005 09:35

Morning ladies

harley1-sooooo pleased for you hun. Try and relax now. ((xx))

I have wrapped a scan picture up so that MIL opens it on Christmas Day at our house so will find out the news that way.

DD is really poorly and think she has passed it on to me as my throat is killing-have had to phone into work to say that I'm staying at home with DD. Feel guilty as Christmas week is always busy in the bank.

Wore my maternity trousers and top for the first time yesterday as tight things are so uncomfortable-it is a relief to let it all hang out!

Still sick and I am 12+2. Think the nausea is hanging around for a bit longer yet.

Right, must check on DD. Good luck to anyone having scans this week.

Lots of love and hugs to all.

mumsxmaswish sorry to hear about your loss. Thinking of you.

Straightforward · 19/12/2005 22:28

mumsxmaswish - so sorry

harley1 - really good news on your scan - bet that's a huge relief. So we are due on the same day - race ya!

Got the first appt with my mw on Wednesday - she comes to me, which is novel, as last time I had to go to them. DH and I have been discussing the nuchal fold scan and we've decided to go for it, so will mention it to the mw and hopefully get a date soon. At least then I'll get a scan! (don't worry - I know there's a much more serious reason for having it!) Anyone else going for that? Any thoughts?

Straightforward · 19/12/2005 22:30

Oh, and HC - sorry to hear you're not well. Get well soon!

HumphreysCorner · 20/12/2005 08:38

Morning ladies

DD was a total nightmare to look after yesterday-not helped by the fact that I have now come down with her germs and am still sick. Can't take any cold/flu remedies either. DD has gone to MIL's today and am going to ring in sick again as don't want to pollute anyone at work and also want to be well for Christmas being as though everyone is coming to me.

Don't know about anyone else but I dread phoning work to say I'm not coming in as I always think that they won't believe me. Also, I only work Mondays and Tuesdays so feel bad about it. Can't be helped though.

Going to lay down with a hot water bottle once I've phoned in at 9am.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays well!

Lots of love

Hi all,
HC - feel better soon!
Last day at work today! Stressed beyond belief. Builders STILL in the house, M-i-l arriving tonight and 15 coming for Xmas dinner! Off to visit the "roast rage" website for help!!
Scan on Thursday, too!
Hope all well with you and the burgeoning bumps!

jersey · 20/12/2005 09:57

Good luck for Thursday xmaspud with your scan.

Hope you are feeling better HC, my DS has it at the moment and I'm dreading getting it as also suffering with very painful sciatica at the moment. Seeing doctor this afternoon to see if anything can be done.

xmasspub · 20/12/2005 09:58

Cheers, Jersey,
Hope the sciatica improves. Have you ever seen a chiropractor?

jersey · 20/12/2005 10:25

No, not yet. Had exercises from a diff doctor which worked to start with, but don't now! Had it 3 months now. Doc I'm see this afternoon isn't one I've seen before as you have to book a month in advance for my doctor, so will see what he says. Hoping he will refer me on NHS as could go private but just can't afford it at the moment.

Very bored at work as nothing to do this week!

Hope that clears up soon Jersey that's rotten.

I am soooooo bored at work, have dragged myself into the office today to show my face as usually work from home, but have nothing to do this week at all and feel like leaving again. Feel very icky still, I'm sure i wasn't this bad first time round, just feel sick all the time, like a hangover but without the fun part and less slurring of words....

I am sure i am getting a bump already, these troos are distinctly tight and my tummy is DEFINITLEY protruding.........

jamiesam · 20/12/2005 20:41

Long time no see chaps. (Just previewed this - apologise now, but this post is enormous! Don't feel obliged to read, I'm catching up with you all after a week off www)

Sadly really busy at work at the moment - rather of those of you who aren't! And can't believe how busy at home too - lots of late night shopping and a bit of baking and cleaning, but we're on the home straight now for christmas. Dp at 'our' works do tonight - I volunteered to stay at home since I wouldn't be drinking anyway!

Am now 9+3 - this is really starting to drag now. I'm never going to go the whole distance - you'd never believe I've got 2 ds's already, I'm just so unbelievably impatient still. I do the sums for how pg I am several times a day (no memory doesn't help either) and keep shocking myself as how far I have to go.

Quick resume since I was last on -

Oldiemum - hmm, bit of a small miracle there! Congrats.

Kbaby - GREAT NEWS!! Am so pleased for you.

Harley1 -congrats and welcome - and good news about your scan

Humphreyscorner - so pleased at news of your lovely scan.

But HC, err... about the flooding situation though - are you sure??? If you're in an area where the EA are suggesting the likelihood is a flood every 100 years and there hasn't been a flood for 70 years, doesn't that mean the odds are very much in favour of a flood soon? The EA increased the 'though shall not build new houses etc' threshold from 1 in 30 year flood risk areas to 1 in 100 because of the increasing incidence and severity of floods in the past few years. Sorry, I don't really know anything about your situation - I'm coming at this from the planning side where we're put under incredible pressure not to allocate any new housing sites in 1:100yr flood risk areas...

Nannyjo - welcome and congrats!

MumsXMASwish - so sorry to hear your news.

HumphreysCorner · 20/12/2005 21:54

Good to hear from you jamiesam-glad all is well. Don't worry, time will fly over the next few weeks with Christmas.

We only got planning permission for our house 7 years ago to do a self build. The whole thing is bizarre but we have to face the fact that we won't get paid out in the event of a flood. The sea is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile away with several mounds and fields between us. Ho hum!

Take care

jamiesam · 20/12/2005 22:20

Hi HC - ah, but you're 3 weeks ahead of me! That's AGES away - you must be nearly due

Promise I won't go on about this anymore - but seem to have seen the same prog on tv several times over the last few years about the BIG floods of the (?)1950's off the east coast. I find it absolutley fascinating, but don't know anyone who lives off that coast like you do, so quite a detached interest... EA have 'changed their approach to risk' since you built your house - but self build sounds dead exciting - is it your dream house??? Dh has just got a new job that requires him to work from home, and I'm trying to persuade him that we should have a new kitchen extension and convert the existing kitchen to his office - no joy yet though, I think he wants a garden office - ie a shed in the garden. What's exciting about that?!

jamiesam · 20/12/2005 22:23

Ohh, and I was toying with doing an updated list of where we all are - but is that still a bit previous, as we've not all had dating scans yet (including me, but early scan thought my dates were reasonably reliable...)

Also, noted quite a few who've not posted for a while and scared in case I might smoke out bad news???

HumphreysCorner · 21/12/2005 09:54

Morning ladies, I'm still full of cold .

jamiesam-I thought we could wait until everyone has had their dating scan then we can compile a list.

Our self build was stressful as we did alot of it ourselves hence took 2 years before it was ready to move in and then we only had a kitchen and bathroom and no carpets for years. Infact, we still have 2 rooms to finish! Was fun designing it though, based it initially on a picture on the Kellogs Cornflakes win a house competition. Had to fight off MIL interference as DH's sister built their bungalow and it is a minature version of MIL's house. That was not going to happen. Even the architect refused to come round in the end when she was there so went to his house and soon came up with our dream plan. At least we will never have to move house.

My hairdresser's DH has converted the side of his garage into an office, looks quite nice actually but I agree a new kitchen sounds better.

xmasspub-I thought 12 was loads for Christmas Dinner but 15 . Having said that, I had 15 last year so best of luck .

Going to attempt the big shop tomorrow, was meant to go today but can't face it.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning on from home today as sciatica really painful so stayed in bed today. Went to docs he just said work on your posture and it should go of own accord, not much else we can do. Did one of his suggestions last night and put towel under lower back while sleeping, absolute agony during the night . Also got DS & DH cold now so really feeling very sorry for myself and trying not to cough as that sends pain shooting through me!

jamiesam · 21/12/2005 12:23

Jersey - have you seen this? - interesting that the link to pelvic girdle pain info indicates pain is worse at night.
