EvaLongoria · 04/03/2011 10:47

Thanks Geeklove for new thread.

Happy due date to SuperPenguin, Carrie, Larty and Bluebeach

Katie LOL at falling asleep. I have also been trying to get onto Antenatal classes after I have decided to try for VBAC. My due date is 18th and only date I can get is the 12th. I have a sweep on the 10th so hopefully baby will arrive before then. Werent really bothered with it before because I was so set on have an ELCS.

Cant sit and type today because need to put cot together today and surprise DH when he comes home tonight. He put it all in the room last night and that means I literally only have to try and put it all together. Also washed the baby's room and DD's rooms carpets so need to rest today and tomorrow. Really do not want any work come Monday.

Any boys yet?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 04/03/2011 11:32

Well done Geek Love.

I hope this weekend brings us some babies. I am due Sun/Mon so would like to coount myself amongst them.

Enjoy ladies.

edeluna · 04/03/2011 11:33

New thread, yay! Thanks geeklove

Looking forward to more news soon.

I'm now 38+1 and no sign of anything imminent. Baby is wriggling around but movements seem less vigourous. I know she has less space now, especially considering how much room my fibroids occupy, so I probably shouldn't worry, right? She does tend to get especially active just when I'm going to bed.

Otherwise, I've got a few errands to run today but then will be coming home for a quiet, uneventful (most likely) weekend.

Hope everyone's doing well and the waiting is almost over for those with due dates now.

EvianBaby · 04/03/2011 12:24

Hi everyone!

Happy due date to SuperPenguin, Carrie, Larty and Bluebeach! Hopefully you're all in labour as I type Wink

I can't remember whether I posted on the old thread last night but I had a MW appt yesterday and was feeling a bit despondent that the baby was nowhere near where it should be Confused

My VBAC idea seems to be slipping further and further away. Anyway, the sun is shining (a bit!) today and I am feeling more positive. Going to continue to try and get this baby out before I see the consultant on Monday!

I am desperate for some encouraging baby news from some of you - by the sounds of things most of you are much closer than me! Get walking, having sex and perhaps bouncing on a trampoline!

I am still in a name quandary, I change my mind between 3-4 names, it's driving DH crazy I think but he's far too diplomatic (or scared) to say that of course... I'm hoping I decide when I see the baby.

Will keep checking in to see how you all are Smile

Larty74 · 04/03/2011 12:46

Thanks Evian I WISH I was in labour, but I think this one's in for the long haul.

I'm so desperate to walk but ugh - my back. A trip to the shops does me in.

Good luck Jeffily with your move and wish you all the best in your new home.

Good luck Eva on "putting together" the cot on your own!

Muser · 04/03/2011 14:15

Hello new thread. Hope everyOne is well. Looking forward to more baby news.

doubleshotlatte · 04/03/2011 14:17

Marking my place here too, relieved to see there are still lots of us left. And how lovely to know some have had their babies already.

Happy due date ladies Smile
mine is 10 days away but am hoping and praying baby arrives long before. Docs threatening to induce me if a day over due Confused - I sooooo don't want to be induced. Already have fast labour, won't make it to a bed if they try to speed it up further!!

Has anyone else been monitored for high BP? Am now on meds for PIH (not pre-eclampsia).

Also, anyone else planning/hoping to use a birthing pool?

KPidgeon so they routinely do a scan at your NHS trust? I had to fight for mine even though it was for PIH reasons

cherub59 my heartburn remedy is a mug of fennel tea (will come in use after, for BF too)

Braxton Hicks getting more frequent, but have been around since week 20s so not like a "sign" or anything. Sigh.

1Catherine1 · 04/03/2011 14:41

Afternoon ladies,

MW appointment this morning. Baby is 1/5th engaged and growing well. She told me to make another appointment for 2 weeks time but seemed optimistic that I wouldn't need it. Am 37+5 and feeling great after not coming to work today until 12:30, so I got to oversleep. Hope you all have a good weekend - mine is looking like I'll spend the weekend looking after the OH who has a terrible cold/flu. He hasn't moved off the air-bed in the front room in 2 days, he moved in there so that I didn't catch anything from him but then I've had to look after him anyway. Hmm

JeelyPiece · 04/03/2011 15:14

Feeling a bit down after MW appointment this morning. Good news was baby is 1/5 engaged when it was free before (am 38 weeks today) but the bad news is I have gone from measuring three weeks ahead to measuring four weeks ahead. They investigate here once you are more than 3cm ahead or behind, so I have a licquor level scan on Monday and she took bloods to check my sugar level. Also, my BP was a bit high. It's always been fine until now, and my urine has always come back clear too.

So have been googling gestational diabetes and freaking out about huge babies and high licquor levels. At the moment I don't know for a fact that anything is untoward though. MW is coming to my house on Sunday to check my bp in case it was just raised by me rushing to the clinic this morning. Fingers crossed it's back to normal. I should find out about my blood sugar then, and licquor levels the next day. I think if something shows up for any of those induction might be suggested.

I don't know why they aren't giving me a GTT, especially as my BMI is over 30. I just want to keep going with my low risk preg, waiting for labour to kick in naturally!

RockChick1984 · 04/03/2011 15:38

jeely I hope it all comes back clear for you, I had a normal mw appointment a few weeks ago and my bp was high, they made me go for monitoring and see the mw every few days to keep a check on it. It's gradually over 2 weeks dropped back to what was normal for me. Mw said this happens sometimes and often isn't anything to worry about so keeping my fingers crosses for you!

I'm getting all sorts of aches and pains lately! My braxton hicks have become much more frequent and fairly uncomfortable over the last 2 or 3 days, I had about 5 yesterday afternoon that were actually painful and thought things were all starting to happen but then they stopped again - I was gutted! 38 weeks today, midwife told me on wed that the baby is completely engaged but I could sort of tell, I can feel him pressing on my cervix which is a bit weird, sort of like he's trying to push his way out! Anyone else experiencing this? If anyone has had this with previous babies, how long til you went into labour?

sam26oscar · 04/03/2011 15:53

Hi Ladies!!

Happy due date to those of you due and sympathies to those over their due date and not long now for those nearing their due date!!!

Thankfully i am past that now and just wanted to say hi to everyone and see who has had babies, seems
irishqueen was the last!!

Well, all is well here, Cassie doing fab God love her, a bit jaundiced, but its sunny here so put her in the window for a sunbathe Wink, i actually got 4 hrs straight thru sleep last night between feeds...yay!!!

On the down side no-one told me about the constipation AFTER delivery, and for those of you thinking of pain relief after baby, codeine causes constipation, i thought i would pass that nugget of information on to you all Grin

can't remember how quickly the days and nights all fly by!!

I will be watching for the next influx of babies and especially the first boy!!!!

Good luck everyone xx

JeelyPiece · 04/03/2011 15:55

Thanks RockChick, am glad yours went back down to normal.

We're due date buddies then, I am so envious that you are fully engaged!

Jupiter118 · 04/03/2011 16:29

Happy due dates to all that are today.

I am 37+4. Saw MW yesterday and apparently one fifth engaged - pretty good for a second I think as they often don't engage at all. She sent me to hospital though as my movement was reduced yesterday and is again today. Had trace last night which was fine and then a liquor and doppler scan today where they looked at blood flow to placenta. All was fine and had another trace as baby still not moving very much. Day unit said just to keep any eye on it over the weekend and if worried to go back.

I still have the period type cramps - most of the time. I wish they would either go away or materialise into something.

Am about to scrub the shower in an effort to move things along. Almost bought a Vax earlier to shampoo the carpets, but restrained myself. Does anyone have one - are they any good.

Jammie hope you are feeling brighter. Hugs!!!!

jeffily packing much luck and thinking of you - no mean feat.

evian like the sounds of a trampoline - might just try jumping up and down!

sam cassie sounds lovely!! very jealous.

rock chick I never had any twinges with DS and then was induced at 38 weeks. This time lots of twinges - period like cramps for 3 weeks now - v v unfunny.

Hello to everyone.
Have lovely weekends - hope it stays sunny - might do some serious walking.

1Catherine1 · 04/03/2011 16:43

Jeely IDK if this will be of any information or use to your but my MW said this morning that I'm free to "treat" myself to some nice sweet snacks as there's very little chance of me developing gestational diabetes at this late stage and I am only 2 days behind you. Maybe this is why they haven't offered you the test?

Sam Lovely to hear you and Cassie are doing well :)

Off home now after just finishing work. I definitely think school should start at 12:30 and finish at 4:30 - it's a much nicer day!!

Jupiter118 · 04/03/2011 16:52

catherine are you on ML now or still another week. A short day would be welcome in any job I think Grin

1Catherine1 · 04/03/2011 17:01

One more week - I finish next Friday unless baby comes first :) We have a 2 week timetable here though and next week is my lighter week so I'll manage better than I have this week.

Anyway.... now I'm actually off home, found more things I needed to do before leaving Hmm

Medee · 04/03/2011 17:46

Happy New Thread.

Katie my baby always kicks off when I am relaxing - it's the extra oxygen from the deep breathing!

Jenchandler · 04/03/2011 18:12

Hi all,
Just a quick uodate - Isobel Seren was born on 2nd March at 7.11pm weighing in at 6lbs 12oz. Bit of a long marathon - waters broke at 2am Tuesday morning and contracted ever since. However, the never really increased past 2 in 7 minutes so was induced on Weds afternoon.

Had the epidural when they started syntocinon - tried coping with gas and air initially but I was too tired to continue, Then she started having fetal decelerations - they examined me and I was fully dilated but her neck was deflexed with the cord around it. There was a lot of talk of forceps/section but I was given one chance to push - and out she popped. Thank god. And only one small graze.

Shes been grand ever since - not much sleep in the Chandler household but shes so gorgeous we dont mind! Finally got discharged at 9pm last night - being home is wonderful.

Will catch up on all the news over the weekend. Got the in laws here at tthe mo..better be sociable!
xxx

me23 · 04/03/2011 18:15

Hi everyone,
Sound like a lot of us are getting the period like pains, I had these for a few hours the other night but they didn't materialise into anything.

I had mw round to drop off homebirth kit today and do an antenatal check, all is well with me and baby, I'm excited now I can't wait for labour to start. My next appt is on 21st I'll be 39+5 she said I can have a sweep then if I want. I'm hoping I won't need that appt though (wishful thinking).

we inflated the pool other night took no time at all with electric pump, we still need to do a trial run though to see how long it takes to fill.

me23 · 04/03/2011 18:17
