PS Don't try doing this on an Iphone.

Jupiter118 · 03/03/2011 17:29

Thanks geeklove - just marking place - back later.

Purplefan · 03/03/2011 17:47

Geeklove you are a star Grin

sittinghippo · 03/03/2011 19:48

Thanks Geeklove.

Come on ladies chop chop! I really feel for you that are overdue now, I have 6 days til due date and eagerly watching every twinge for a sign. Have a feeling I'm going to be a nightmare to live with for the next however many days.

niamh29 · 03/03/2011 20:12

Thanks geeklove. Just marking my spot!

Hope everyone is well!

Lozario · 03/03/2011 20:18

Ha love the PS! I try to achieve far too much on my iPhone purely cos I can't be bothered to get off my ass to the computer about 5 feet away...

Anyway nothing to report here apart from DS1 being a royal pain in the ass all day!

Larty74 · 03/03/2011 20:21

thanks Geek marking my place

Hattie05 · 03/03/2011 20:29

Ah thats a relief to have a new short thread!

midwife came this morning and gave me a sweep. she said oh baby is very very low! so i of course took that to mean baby WILL come tonight! i have fingers crossed.
She said being 4th my cervix is already ready to dilate, but the dilating doesn't normally happen until labour begins. Just 1/5th palpable now so bring it on please!

Jeffily - i do not envy you having to co-ordinate a move at this time! Look after yourself.

Good luck everybody and rest up as much as you can!

chickiewoo · 03/03/2011 20:50

Thanks Geek - just marking my place and updating. Saw consultant today, who has confirmed that I will have pre-op assessment with him and obstetric anaesthetist on 16 March and will be admitted on 23 March for c-section (due date is 28 March). So at least I feel a bit better planned than previously - though obviously babies can arrive whenever they like and throw all your best laid plans into disarray!

Love and big hugs to all the new Mums and their babies - I don't post that often, but I do try and read the posts daily and am thinking of you all.

Been a bit over-emotional the last few days together with anxiety and fear, but I guess this is normal, even for second time Mums!

Am now going to try and rest as much as I can over the next few days/weeks (whatever I've got left!) as think I'm well and truly nested out - did my kitchen cupboards last weekend. Nursery is ready and had my hair done this week!

Love to all those (like me) who are waiting patiently or not as the case may be - each night, when I go to bed I wonder if tonight's the night - though have to say I haven't tried any of the suggested methods to get things going!

Take care all and Jammie - I don't have any previous experience personally with pnd, but would just like to echo all the thoughts and messages from your friends here and don't be too hard on yourself xxx

p.s. apologies for the long post x

TooImmature2BMum · 03/03/2011 21:05

Happy due date to me (and cherub and celia)! Nowt to report - just checking in to the new thread. Have spent all day on my feet washing up, cooking and walking the dog with Mum encouraging me. Now feeling crippled with pelvic pain. Owww!

Pram has arrived - hurray! Quinny Speedi in blue. I love it! Have tried folding and wheeling it, but don't want to take it outside in case it gets dirty Hmm. It seems reasonably easy to fold and take the carry cot/car seat on and off, but I bet it's a lot harder when it contains 7-10lbs of newborn baby, especially fast asleep, don't-dare-disturb baby!

Right, am going to get in hot bath and try to persuade DH to bring me some pineapple.

cherub59 · 03/03/2011 21:10

Happy due date to you too too immature! Saw mw and at least baby is now 3/5 engaged which explains why I couldn't get my socks on this morning!!!!

Come on babies!!!!

cherub59 · 03/03/2011 21:12

Oh and meant to post a while back that have discovered a big glass of milk at bedtime has cured me of the hideous heartburn that was keeping me awake half the night.... Might work for others with same prob?

spilttheteaagain · 03/03/2011 21:39

Marking my place

KPidgeon · 03/03/2011 21:42

Thanks geeklove

Hello all.

Had 36 wk appt today and going for a scan next week as the midwife can't tell if baby is head down or not. Scan is at 37.5 wks so hopefully nothing will happen before then. I don't want a surprise breech!

Apart from that all fine- sleeping soooo much in the day on my ML but going by Jeffily and other mums advice I think this is sensible Wink

Jeffily we're moving out of London and to Sussex where I know no one straight after the birth of the baby too- I'm sure both moves will be positive steps for us but it's daunting to think of it. One step at a time eh- your little Leila is so tiny at the moment-when she's ready to go out and discover her new surroundings it will be beautiful spring-like weather and a great time of the year to discover a new area with her.

StrangewaysHereICome · 03/03/2011 21:48

Marking my place too, and hello everyone! 4 days over now, and not feeling too chatty I'm afraid. I wonder who will be next to pop??

Hope you are feeling a bit better Jammie.

Niknan · 03/03/2011 23:07

Just marking my place!

JeelyPiece · 03/03/2011 23:29

Good thread title GeekLove!

Many congratulations to those who have had their babies, it's so exciting that we are all finally here.

Picked up the car seat today and bought yet more babygros, we are suckers for the cuteness of them. I've been finding it suddenly even harder to bend over the last couple of days, does this mean the baby is engaging? Am 38 weeks now and have mw check tomorrow so hopefully will find out then that he/she is!

Goldenbear · 03/03/2011 23:30

Hello, yes marking my place too. I have been left of the list but hear what you're saying (Geeklove) about cutting and pasting on s phone, currently computer less so DP has promised update my details at work.

Since I last checked, AfterIVF, Mendipgirl, irishqueen and Sam26oscar all actually have babies, congratulations, hope you and your baby girls are all happy?

Hattie05 i hope you have some news for us soon and Happy due date to Celia76, Cherub59 and tooimaturetobmum!

Strangewayshereicome, hope your wait isn't too much longer?

To those overdue or due today have you had any signs yet, more Braxton Hicks etc.?

LovelyKatie · 03/03/2011 23:32

What does it mean marking your place?

Very embarrassing story to tell today. I went along to my first antenatal class today (being 39 weeks today probably a bit late in the day!!) but anyway I really struggled with it!

I couldn't breathe properly and my back was killing the baby was going crazy kicking all over the place in my belly whilst I'm meant to be relaxing to calm waves music!! 2nd half was the relaxation she had all us lying down with blankets over us and started talking so soothingly that I fell asleep!!!!

She came and tapped me at the end of it I felt so embarassed!! But excused myself as I am nearly due!

I left feeling so drained and tired and walking like a snail. Whereas on the way I was so sprighty and energetic!

Ohhh I am getting impatient now. Can't wait for the kick off!
Hope everyone is feeling ok :)

1Catherine1 · 04/03/2011 00:24

Marking your place is just a way of saying that its a quick post so you can find the thread quickly later on "threads I'm on".

MW appointment tomorrow, 37+5 now, baby has mass kicking and punching sessions atm which leaves me feeling uncomfortable. I have decided that I need baby to stay put now for at least another week as my car failed its MOT and needs lots of money thrown at it - more than I was expecting. My mum tells me I don't have much of a say in it though but we'll see about that Wink

Katie you really have left your antenatal classes late Shock - baby could be here any day now! I thought leaving it to 36 weeks for my first one was pushing it.

Hope something starts to happen soon for you Strangeways!

jeffily · 04/03/2011 09:09

Morning all

Hope you are feeling ok this morning jammie.

Had several wakings last night and Leila was up for a feed at 6am after which I couldn't get back to sleep and just lay there with her on my chest looking at her gorgeous head of dark hair and her tiny little body. With the second it seems I have so much less time to adore her like I did with DD1 so it was a precious time but now I am shattered and sort of wish I had gone back to sleep!

Thanks for your encouraging words K, you are totally right and I know this move is the best thing for our family. Bizarrely you are moving into the area just as I am moving out! E sussex is lovely and I am sure you will be very happy here. I certainly have been!

Right. Mission into town today to get DD1 some new shoes and me some new jeans before we move to the country and it is no longer a walk into twon. Oh bugger and DD1 has just chucked millions of sequins all over the floor! Sigh.

Have brill days all. Here's hoping for some baby news today!

JoJoB77 · 04/03/2011 09:52

Morning ladies

Marking my place! Thanks for the new thread geek.

All is well here, I'm 36+2 and had 36 week check on Wednesday with doc. He took a swab to check if strep b is present. As far as the midwives are concerned, as it's been found earlier in pregnancy I will be delivering on a consultant ward in hospital as opposed to the local MLU. I'm happy doing that.

I had a bout of quite painful period pain/aches yesterday although I think I overdid it what with the shopping I did earlier in the day and then the ironing I did in the afternoon. I have to realise that I can't behave normally now I'm huge!

Congrats again to all the ladies who have had their babies and look forward to more happy news soon!

x

pettyprudence · 04/03/2011 10:16

Morning all, hope we're not on this shiny new thread for too long and we can join THE OTHER SIDE (I have a horrible feeling I will be pottering around here on my own in the middle of April!).

I keep forgetting/not realising I am mahoosive now. I get really confused when I can't spring up off the sofa, roll around in bed, put my socks on and terrify my work colleagues with my size! Potentially I still have almost 6 weeks to go if I go over - thats quite scary!

JoJoB77 · 04/03/2011 10:22

I'm exactly the same pettyprudence! We are due date buddies too!

I still find it hard getting used to not being able to sit up properly without sounding like a wheezy old lady!

I've been on ML for a week now and have a party to go to tonight for a workmates birthday. It will be interesting to see if they gasp when they see my bump Grin

superpenguin · 04/03/2011 10:24

Morning all! Thank you geeklove for the shiny new thread! :)

Happy due date to larty , bluebeach , carrie and me!!!

Can't believe I have finally made it to my due date - no sign at all of baby arriving though. Guess I will have to be patient.

highlandbird · 04/03/2011 10:45

Thanks Geeklove!

Sittinghippo your link was really useful, thanks, (I especially liked the note: you may wish to keep this information to yourself, and indeed, I think I might!!) But some other good tips on there!!

Cherub I haven't been able to get my socks on for about 2 months :o and gave up on laces long before, luckily I live in the middle of nowhere its wellies or boots for me, ha ha!

Lots of twinges and back pain for me in the night have a midwife appt today so will see what she says, hopefully is engaged by now at least.
So glad I found MN, no other pregnant ladies to chat to here, love hearing everyone else's stories and knowing I'm not alone. LovelyKatie your antenatal class story made me laugh, I had to give DP quite a big elbow in our first class when he started softly snoring!!!
