Congratulations Carrie! and good luck anyone else with signs - Jojo - that does sound like a show.

My little man arrived only 4.5 hours late of his due date! i def had good vibes last night and went to sleep feeling sure i'd be woken with contractions and sure enough 2.15am i was woken. Told dp i thought this was it and i'd go downstairs for a while to see. Got to the bottom of the stairs thought yep! this is it and returned upstairs to get him out of bed. Two wonderful midwives later and a canister of gas and air i had a very beautiful 8lb 9oz baby boy at 4.30am.

He's lovely and so far sleepy and with his 3 big sisters our house is now very busy! Dp and i have had fun learning how to catch little boys wee when changing nappies .

Well i'm off to bed now. I'm sorry to those of you still waiting, i know it seems like a lifetime but i promise once you have your beautiful babe in arms none of it matters!

Big congratulations Hattie! The babies are coming thick and fast now, I bet we will have a run of boys now after our run of girls. It's all very exciting but as I'm just about to turn 38 weeks I feel like my turn is still ages away! Also, all the labours have been pretty quick and uncomplicated, aren't we a lucky bunch so far!

Wow, congratulations hattie - another boy! And congrats carrie, Theo is a fab name. Hope the jaundice and blood sugar themselves out soon. Our little one's got a touch of jaundice too, but since we've still not left hospital is being carefully monitored.

It is difficult when my OH has to go home, not least cos I think he's missing out on so much time with the little one, but she (name still to be confirmed!) is really getting the hang of breastfeeding so we do hope to be home very soon, and I've really appreciated the extra support following the section.

Apparently there haven't been many deliveries here today, so it's very quiet on the ward for a change and I'm hoping for lots of sleep.

Quick update for Hattie so it's all ready for when Larty comes back to announce another boy! 27 more babies due this week plus all those late comers, very exciting :) Good luck!

I'm having a major wobble today, it feels like I am a fraud being here. I just don't think this baby is ever going to come. The mw is doing a sweep this morning and I am so worried about it, I just want to cry.

Sorry to be on a downer - it's lovely to hear all the baby news, but after two sleepless nights I am losing the will to go on.

Don't worry strangeways, DD1 would probably still be inthere if I hadn't been induced and I was desperate to get her out, a few weeks after baby is born you'll forget all about the frustration.....you'll probably still be really tired though : ))

Larty, I hope everything is going well and you started contracting naturally - best of luck!

Boo, I really thought something was happening in the middle of the night - couldn't sleep one bit, baby kicking like mad, heaps of BH/tightenings and then really quite painful backache. I was sitting up reading by the time my back started aching, and it hurt too much to stay in that position, so I lay on my side for a bit, and then decided I ought to be vertical and use gravity to help the baby, so I went through to the living room and sat on my yoga ball. About half an hour later I slunk back to bed going rats, nothing! My back's still sore now, though, so perhaps this is the very very early beginnings. Mum says she started off with backache, not bad enough to stop her sleeping, and she was examined in the morning and told she was 3cm dilated, so fingers crossed...

Strangeways, you poor thing! I'm not surprised the pressure is getting to you - it's getting to me too and I'm 4 days behind you. I'm sure the sweep will be fine, and I hope something starts happening for you very soon!

I am also obsessed with wanting the house to be immaculate for when the baby comes home, not normally that houseproud I'm just assuming i won't have time to do it afterwards and I know we'll have LOADS of visitors....my friends with children say I won't care what state my house is in when I come home I'll be too tired / focused on baby!

Best of luck with the sweep Strangeways, it must be so frustrating being past your due date with all these niggles but nothing happening.

I had my liquor volume scan this morning after measuring 42 weeks at my 38 week check-up last Friday. Liquor was 24.7cm which is above average but they didn't seem worried about it and I've just to carry on as normal with my next mw check at the end of the week. Also my bp came back down over the weekend and my blood sugar came back as normal, so am much relieved compared to how I felt on Fri!

Am so ready for baby to come a bit early though...

Congrats to Carrie and Hattie and good luck Larty looks like you will beat me after all.

Well y very busy weekend didnt encourage baby to come so am still here. Due date is yesterday/today so just keep on wiating I guess. I have a MW appointment tomorrow so I imagine sweep might be mentioned as well as what happens going forward. Not sure I want the sweep as I had 2 with DS2 and basically they said it prob wouldnt work as everything was still not ready (high not soft or whatever the cervix is supposed to be) so I sort of think the only reason to do it would be to find out if I am in a favourable position or not really.

I definitely want to avoid induction though having already done that with DS2 and although it wasnt horrendous or anything really just want to go with the flow.... I may feel different about this this time next week.

My dad comes back from Turkey today and called me this morning to see if anything happened and then said he was anxious and wanted the baby to come, yes yopu and me both really! I do love him though, he even said should he just come and stay until the baby arrives so he can be here for the boys. Bless him.

Think I totally overdid the cleaning this morning. Scrubbed the bath and tiles with bleach, cleaned the cooker, started packing away kitchen stuff then had to come and sit down as I feel sick. I'm a dope!

Yep, is my last week - although the head has been to ask me if I'm staying another as there's still no ML in place to which I politely responded with "Not a chance - As of Friday I'm done!".

I must say though Kpidgeon, packing must be more exhausting as at least I get to sit for most of the day since I teach a book based subject.

I'm feeling quite bouncy and excited today - I've had a 16 week growth scan and the baby is still all ok and a good size and so is now bigger than Bobbie was by 20 weeks. Amazing to see the little face on the scan, eye sockets, jaw and all
I'm being very well looked after and am having my 20 week scan done by the Fetal Medicine Consultant so that should be interesting.

Looking forward to hearing more birth stories. Suddenly it's dawning on me that I might actually have to face up to giving birth to a full term size baby
