Hi everyone

Just a quick hello. Been busy trying to get everything organised for my homebirth. Keep changing my mind, not sure if i'll be able to cope with just gas and air. Been frantically cleaning everyday, just in case. Have really had enough of being pregnant now, but still 2wks.

Can't believe how many babies we have already and it isn't even Nov yet.

Big congrats to Beks, Londoner and Laylamum and welcome to Thomas, Elizabeth and baby Laylamum.

Rodeo & Nova - Your little angels are gorgeous.

Hope all the new mom's are managing to get some sleep and pampering from their partners.

Have just scan through some the posts but hope everyone else is doing well.

Take care

BAM - you are a very nice person to babysit in your condition, let alone a SN kid Hope he is Ok and you arent too exhausted.

I'm off to the chiroprator this morning to see if she can turn the baby. I had a session last week and the baby did turn - except he went from transverse to breech!!!!! The wee !!!!! Otherwise its the ECV on Thursday....

KristinaM · 31/10/2005 08:57

sorry x posted. morning CADS!

JenJam · 31/10/2005 09:02

golden - where are you, hope you are ok and haven't gone into hosp??

i'm going back to bed for an hour - then plan to spend the morning finishing the painting (YES I KNOW ...still haven't finished) you've got my mobile number, i think...

JenJam · 31/10/2005 09:07

morning everyone else!

wonder if we'll have any 'little vampires' born today. if ours comes today i'll write 666 on his hairline in eyeliner and photograph it so i can scare him when he's a bolshy adolescent

kristina have you tried acupuncture for the breech baby (or is that recommended mainly for babies who are slow to come out)?

goldenoldie · 31/10/2005 09:25

JenJam - sorry - feel like pants today and have lots to do before going into hospital tomorrow. Will ring you.

novadandypowder · 31/10/2005 09:42

so are we going to have to start a nov post natal thread? i must say, it's not the same being on the oct one, what do you think Rodeo?

Enthusia - how are the birth announcement cards going? have you finished them yet? must confess that we ended up sending texts/emails or calling people .

Chacha - i'm guessing your sickness has stopped again?

A big hats off to those home birthing ladies on here, i couldn't have done it.

Natalie has increased her feeding very rapidly, she's a growing girl! got to get to 8lbs and then we can start using the papoose.

I may have missed something, but what's happened to pinkminx?? she was on here a lot and now she's not posted for a while..

all the best for tomorrow goldenoldie xxxx

Diege · 31/10/2005 09:52

Good morning everyone! Congratulations to Laylasmum!! Wow, what a good weight; no wonder you are a bit sore!!
Good luck Christina with turning the baby , and hope you feel better soon golden
Just had to have word with dd1's teacher about bullying (in reception year!!); felt really emotional and nearly cried talking about it. Pesky hormones! Bump is sore after hitting myself in stomach freeing stuck zip on dd's coat, so hope no harm done; remember falling on bump at 37 weeks with dd2 - very common apparently. Waiting in for heating man today as central heating packed in over weekend, so no excuse not to do birth plan; also need snacks for labour bag (surrepticously eaten). Anyone else banned from eating in labour? (nothing personal I think, just hossy policy!)

tessasmum · 31/10/2005 09:57

Beartime - glad you found the thread. Think you are just going to have to go with the flow if baby decides to turn up today and make sure DH answers the door

Golden - hope you are feeling a bit better and that hospital stay goes well. Make sure they look after you and you get as much rest as you can. Look forward to hearing from you when you get back, if you ever have a free finger to type with!

CADS - know what you mean about getting the house ready for homebirth. I never usually bother to notice the dust/debris but keep thinking 'what will the midwife think' Also have been trying not to be so lazy and leave dinner dishes till the morning as i know if I start labouring in the middle of the night the first thing I'll try and do is the damn dishes. I'm never this houseproud normally, maybe its as close as I'm going to get to nesting!!

rodeo1 · 31/10/2005 10:19

Morning all,

Definitely agree with Nova about a post-natal thread, we'll start one tomorrow seeing as it's the 1st Nov! Have you had Nat weighed agan yet? Would be nice to compare with Jess - taking her to the clinic on Thurs, so we'll see what 'The guts' weighs then.

Hope you get a nice rest in hosp Golden! Are you stocked up on trashy magazines?!

Tex, have a lovely day tomorrow meeting your new girl, wishing you the best of luck, hope to see you back on our new post-natal thread by the weekend!!

Busy, good luck today Try not to wear yourself out

Diege, your poor dd my dd kept getting left out at playtimes and lunch last year and was getting so sad about it, so know how upsetting it is - pregnancy hormones or not! Hope bump feels better soon!

CADS - Lovely to see your post, your homebirth will be fine - you can do it!!

I've stopped aking my Arnica 200 pills too and still have half of them left, so they're up for grabs if anyone wants one - any of the section ladies? Twinkle? CAT me if you're interested!

Hope the brand new babies were good last night!

Right, need to get my a**e into gear. Dp has taken baby out with him to the printers and I've said I'll tidy and attack the huge ever-growing mound of washing,

speak to you later x x x

Diege · 31/10/2005 10:38

Must get motivated...got absorbed in that Jeremy Kyle (?) trashy show, cup of coffee and custard creams, and now feel shattered...phew, it's hard work on maternity leave with kids at school/nursery!! Thanks Rodeo for sympathy re: dd; she said two older girls were picking her up and pulling her mouth open, and not letting her go when she cried; doesn't sound like something she would make up so have been v.concerned.Agree, it's the thought of them being left out/ignored by others which is upsetting, particularly as some of it is just life (though not other bits of course!). V.impressed with your energy! Nova - glad to hear you and Natalie are well - you must be very proud .
Oh well, 'This Morning' is calling...will do birth plan this afternoon...
Diege, 38+1

glad to hear that we are all mostly ok, if tired!
Bloody builders just found out they are not coming today they are going to start tommorow!!!
Grrrrrrr.......
So im off into town to pay all the bills etc so it is all sorted out before the birth Arghhhhhh only 10 days to go.It has came round so quick now.Im going to bring the moses basket down stairs later and sort out changing mats.It is so strange to think that we will have a baby so soon.I do keep having moments where i think OMG what have we done is anyone else who has kids already feeling like this???????
We are so skint at the min Im hoping that having to put my feet up might mean we become less overdrawn
well i should go and get ready to go out

Hi golden - just woke up and feel groggy - morning napping is a bad idea me thinks. hey no worries about lunch. hope you feel better - You're going into UCH aren't you? Do you know what bit you'll be in, i'll look out for you if we check in for ours before you deliver (our dd is 8th Nov.) Jen

Enthusia · 31/10/2005 11:35

Morning all

Just back from the Drs, nothing has changed since last time, other than Dr reckons baby is BIG!!!!! I am now measuring 42cms fundal height, so is just a waiting game still!!!

Still having pains, worse in the mornings, last for a few hours then go and come back. Also think I had another show yesterday - was so obsessed wondering whether it was or wasn't I showed it to DH who suprisingly wasn't very interested!!!! He didn't help much either. It was still like jelly, very stringy, but not tainted with pink or any kind of blood - snotty, yellowy green really. Dr reckons could be another bit of plug coming away!!! Ho Hum will just have to wait and see.

Am hoping bubs will come tomorrow really as it is my Mum and Dad's 30th wedding anniversary and that would be such a nice present, what do you reckon the odds are on that??????

Diege - did the reception teacher sort out the bullying incident??

Twinkle - hows the pain, you sound a bit better about it since coming out of hospital.

Oh and congratulations Laylasmum, don't think I said that earlier.

Nova - glad things are going well for you and Natalie, can't wait to come and join you on a postnatal thread!!!!

JenJam, sorry you are feeling a bit rough today, know how you feel though, I am so lacking in energy and motivation at the mo!

Golden - good luck for your hospital stay, hope all goes well.

ChaCha - how are you doing now your Mum has gone, are you alright, no return of the dreaded sickness?

Right better go, really knackered and need a nap

Speak later

tessasmum · 31/10/2005 11:45

Enthusia - obviously the time for 30th anniversaries. My Mum and stepdad's is on the 15th. Unfortunately for us they had booked a cruise over that period and Mum was most annoyed with me when we told them there was a baby turning up around the same time. She thinks she should be here but personally I think the Carribbean sounds a much better option

Diege · 31/10/2005 12:36

Hi Enthusia - oooh, sounds very like vaseliny-type discharge I had with both of mine about a week before labour started, and nothing to stop it coming now if measuring 42cm!! Enjoy these last few days, I've always found it a special, contemplative time . dd's teacher has said she will tell the other teachers/dinner ladies about the incidents, and has also had a word with Jasmine herself about 'telling a grown-up'...still, it's the thought of what might be happening at lunch times when no-one's watching that's upsetting .Sure it will be OK now .
Bouncy chair has arrived this morning, but damned if I can find a size D battery for the vibrating function (are they known by another name?).
Not long form you now Tessasmum ; my parents have also booked a holiday for due date, but this was after they knew when the baby was due . I'm mildly peeved to say the least, not least because I'll have to rely on MIL for childcare!! (a watered down version of BOBs, but of the same 'type' nonetheless!!.Also a bit hurt but not really a 'feelings' type of family IYKWIM, so can't really discuss things. Anyway, breakfast dishes await!
Diegexx

ChaCha · 31/10/2005 13:44

Good afternoon ladies

Jenjam - Thanks for updating the countdown, are you trying to put me out of a job?!?

Congratulations to Laylasmum, can't believe that we are not yet in November and these lovely babies are here! Hurray! Come on guys, more pics and stories pls.

Okay, so let me ramble on with my news then. Have been having really bad rib pain and baby is moving around a lot always to settle some part of it's body under my rib so that I can hardly breathe/turn/sleep. There's been a sharp tugging pain down at the right and it got soooo bad last night that m/w told me to go and see one of the GP's this morning. Got an appt, urine was fine, BP fine but he reckons my liver could be taking a hammering and was very concerned He also mentioned pre-eclampsia to which I was surprised as urine, BP are fine and no swelling etc.. Anyway, he sent me off to hospital for 3 urgent blood tests, booked me in for a scan and told me to call delivery suite if I had more pain.
Have since had same pains and called delivery suite who want me to come in and have a check over and do more possible tests. So, guess where I'll be this afternoon....hmmmm! Also would like some 'well done chacha' as I had 3 sets of blood taken and I didn't even flinch...

Anyone have any ideas on the above..where is Twinkle?

Anyway, moving on from my own selfish post, where is BoB, hope she's well and my love to everyone. Can't believe some of you are already mummies. I keep thinking about first and second trimester posts and what a reality it all is now.

Well, hoping that everyone goes well this afternoon and my liver is still intact!

Diege · 31/10/2005 14:05

Well done ChaCha!!!Seriously though, hope that the tests are reassuring, and that all turns out OK - at least if there is a problem it will have been picked up in time, and you are in the right place . Let us know how things go!
Diegex

goldenoldie · 31/10/2005 14:13

JenJam - nice talking to you. I will keep in touch from the hossie.

rodeo1 · 31/10/2005 14:30

Yay! I have a tidy house! Only just got dressed though! Just had lunch while reading about Enthusia's discharge! Don't worry, I'm not squeamish!

Hope everything goes well this afternoon chacha!

Twinkle, hope you're feeling better, sending hugs your way as you put 3 sad faces in your last post you poor thing. Have to say - don't worry, 3 isn't much harder than 2(so far!), baby just seems to fit in. The first 2 are fighting a bit more but that may have just been half term, but they both love Jess to bits. Currently 2 are fast asleep and 1 at school!

Diege, have you done your birth plan yet woman!?

Found a note under dd1's pillow earlier, let me relay it to you all -

"I love my famliy so much. Esbeshley my baby sister called Jess 3 weeks old. she has dark hear and is as cute as a puppyand I can't wait un til she's one. Love Bella"

Ahh....right dd2 is now awake and wanting milk!

JenJam · 31/10/2005 15:27

Golden - yes please do, look forward to seeing you with your twin boys soon; enjoy the rest in hospital; make sure you take lots of snackettes and mags .

I'm looking for a doula - if anyone knows one can they send me details please.

thx,

JenJam · 31/10/2005 15:27

Rodeo - bella's note is very very sweet brought a tear to my eye. aaaah

Diege · 31/10/2005 15:32

Awww Rodeo, your dd is soooo cute . Glad to hear three don't seem to be too much more work than 2, as I am in the same position! Assume you have 3 dds now? Have done birth plan, and feeling very pleased with myself - my midwife/midwife sister would snigger as it's all active birth/minimal pain relief (well, no epidural if poss'), but more down to the fact that epidural didn't work last time than anti-epidural philosophy. As long as it comes out and I'm still in one piece, that's an achievement for me! Meant to ask, when did you start taking arnica 200? Ordered from your recommendations, but not sure if you wait till labour, or indeed after?
Can't believe you have a tidy house and I have not It's not right!!
Diege .

beartime · 31/10/2005 16:54

Tessasmum - I bought a cheap over-sized nightie from Matalan today on DH's recommendations so even if someone sees me it won't be toooo bad!

As for dishes, I was thinking since you're s'posed to stay active and upright in early labour it's probably good to have some to do!

I'm 39 weeks today, but according to my LMP date I would be 40 - but since I know my conception date (Feb 14th ) I know which one is right! It's still exciting though!

rodeo1 · 31/10/2005 16:55

Diege, I started taking the Arnica about a week before delivery and haven't had any pain or taken painkillers for about 2 weeks (dd2 3 weeks today) I think it's really helped. I've got girl-boy-girl now, have you got 2 dds? Do you know what this one is? And don't worry, the house is well on it's way to becoming a tip again! Oh well, it was nice while it lasted!

Another advantage to breast-feeding is frequent visits to mumsnet! Can't do much else! I'm even managing ok one-handed spelling and punctuation
