Is it the lilac one Alfiesmum? They always look so pretty compared to the usual. Hoping I can hold out until next Sunday (39 wks), for the simple, very trivial reason that I have an appointment for ...err.. hair extensions on the Saturday I'm not having it done specially for the birth - just so happens this is my next appoint (for highlights, not length). You read things about women being able to hold on so that absent partners etc. can get home in time etc...so maybe I can apply the same logic to my hair appointment! Must also get an eyebrow shape and tint...not sure about lady garden wax, though strips sound less brutal.
This has been a very shallow post compared to the life changing birth/labour announcements!!
Diege.

alfiesmum · 30/10/2005 13:39

No I went for the cream as I mainly wear light coloured tops, shame they are so expensive or I would get one in every colour

CONGRATULATIONS Londoner and Laylasmum].

I want to know all the homebirth details as soon as you are able.

Babies are really coming thick and fast now. Who's next. Don't think its us as its all gone quiet after 4-5 days of twinges and raised expectations. Think baby may have settled in for the duration now!

Hope everyone is getting enough sleep.

BEKsmum · 30/10/2005 17:47

Just a quickie from me as am supposed to be at a Haloween party, the kids have just knocked here so I have to go back and join the fray.

Congratulations Londoner & Laylasmum, glad to hear you're both well and that we've got one more of each to add to the numbers.

Can't wait to get a chance to catch up properly, hope everyone else is well and that your little ones are still cooking nicely.

Beks

Anyone got any suggestions for what to do if I go into labour on halloween (since having a homebirth) - we're on a busy street too! I don't really fancy me there in my big t-shirt and all the kids from the neighbourhood at the door!

tessasmum · 30/10/2005 20:07

Beartime - I've thought about this for exactly the same reason.
The boring idea we have had is to make a sign for the front door asking people not to ring as I am in the middle of having a baby. However that sounds a bit tame, I may have to start a thread on here for some better ideas

beartime · 30/10/2005 20:14

I thought about that too but wondered if they'd believe us!

tessasmum · 30/10/2005 20:31

Have started a thread but can't do links. Already have tears in my eyes!!

tex111 · 30/10/2005 21:06

Congrats laylasmum and londoner!! Sounds like you both had fantastic births. Very impressed with the home births and can't wait to hear all about it.

Jenjam, thanks so much for doing the countdown. It's so nice to be able to see when everyone is due. I actually have less than 8 days to go now though since my cesarean is booked for Tuesday. Starting to get a bit nervous about it.

OK, all you ladies that had hospital births. Can you help with tips on what to pack. Got to get it all organised tomorrow and I have the basics - paper pants, maternity pads, PJs, clothes and nappies for baby, etc - but is there anything particular that you recommend? Should I take a blanket for the baby? I can't remember if the hospital provides that kind of thing.

And you gals who had cesareans, any tips? I'm feeling surprisingly nervous about it all.
