bitey Good luck today

Truffkin · 15/03/2011 17:30

Hello. I come bearing gifts from my recent sojourn to the country. Homemade preserves from locally grown fruits (ten a penny at breakfast) and home baked shortbread biscuits all organic of course and steeped in gin

Am not sure I'm entirely convinced I've actually won in spite of 4 BFPs (including the CB Digi indicator from this morning that has gone up to 2-3 weeks - eeek) and it's taking it's time to sink in. Our weekend away was well timed, we spent a lot of it exchanging glances and giggling a lot, as well as TGB asking if was sure I could do that (pretty much everything) "in your condition" - he's a laugh a minute!

Am excited to get here before MiniMedee has put in an appearance and Bitey reports back on scan news. I can join in the congrats as a bonifide member, rather than an intruder from le palais Grin

Ivegotmrbitey · 15/03/2011 17:34

Hello! I have got a very shy baby! All that could be seen was present and correct but they couldn't get an image of the head anatomy or the flava. So I have to go back next week and coo all over again Grin lots of kicking and dancing going on, baybee even hid it's kidneys by wriggling out of the way for a while.

Melted at the sight of the soles of the feet, that was lush!

Aqua bumps fabby too, bloody tired now though!

rocketleaf · 15/03/2011 17:40

Ahh double prizes bitey you get a bonus scan!!! Hope minibites behaves better next week though. I would put money on a boy tho, they seem to always to be the awkward shy ones. Wink

Welcome to truffleskin your weekend away sounded lurrvely and such good timing!! TGB sounds like he comes from a very familiar school of fun, maybe a twisted SOH is a requirement for the consort of an ESH.

HighPriestessBoo · 15/03/2011 17:56

I'm going to bet on a girl then Bitey as I think they are coy and keep their legs crossed :o

Medee · 15/03/2011 18:15

Welcome, Truffly and thanks for the shortbread!

Good scan news, Bitey - I got a bonus scan too as they couldn't see everything they needed to. Hope you get to find out the flavour next time.

owlbooty · 15/03/2011 18:38

Bad-assed BaybeeBitey ! Hoorah for extra bonus scan and gorgeous tiny feet Grin

I also bet it's a boy. Glad it's not just mine that breakdances when poked with the scanny thing.

Ivegotmrbitey · 15/03/2011 19:08

triff! hello Smile glad to see you have had a luvverly time away! Did someond mention biscuits?

I am getting increasingly convinced it's a pink one but have no good reason why. Just so happy to see all the wriggling!

LadyGoneGaga · 15/03/2011 20:32

Yay, all is well with the Bitey-let.

Welcome to the Deli, Truff. Glad all going well so far and starting to sink in a bit. I had a feeling you would be next Grin

milanomum · 15/03/2011 21:11

Hurrah for double scan bonus Bitey!

PollyPoo · 15/03/2011 21:16

Yay for double scan Bitey. Grin And congrats Truffs, great news!

Any news Medee?

Ocarina · 15/03/2011 21:46

Yay, Truffkin, welcome. We likes new PESHes round here. Mind you we'd also like to boot Medee out into FESHland - hope you're doing OK.

And yay for all the scans I've missed - I've been reading but not had enough brain or time to comment.

I surprised myself by how gooey I went over hearing the heartbeat for the first time with the midwife today. TH wasn't there but is being very sweet talking about it, although he denies this vehemently! All this talk of names is making me realise we can't put that conversation off indefinitely.

It's interesting watching how the grapevine works now we've gone public about me being pregnant - all sorts of people seem to know. I wasn't so impressed with the person who this evening declared that I really had picked an unhelpful time to be out of circulation for a year given the amount of instability people will be dealing with anyway (complicated ongoing work stuff). Because clearly I planned it all to be as difficult as possible, even if it was possible to plan that accurately anyway. Grrrr.

LadyGoneGaga · 15/03/2011 22:18

I love hearing the heartbeat, Occy - is a beautiful sound. Silly person though - ignore them. If only it was so possible to plan your pregnancy with any level of convenience.

Orchid12 · 16/03/2011 08:09

I'm going to guess girl too Bitey. Did they give you any idea or could they literally not see anything? When my monkey did the same thing the sonographer gave us an indication based on the presence/absence of boy bits either side of the cord/legs. She happened to be right and her indication was confirmed at the private scan. Anyway, it'll be lovely to get another peek next week!

Occy how inconsiderate of you not to get pregnant when it is convenient for work! If it only it worked like that...

Truffkin hello there! It's great to have some new blood in here Smile

Well, I'm having another excitable day today. Going on my dates, I am 24 weeks PG today so squidge has now become viable - hooray! On my notes it became viable last Friday but because I was charting etc I know I didn't ovulate nearly a week earlier than I think I did. I also have a midwife appt today so will find out how things are progressing in there Grin.

Now, if only Meds would add to the excitement.... Come on babymed!

rocketleaf · 16/03/2011 08:47

yey for viability Orchid Hope MW appointment goes well, more doppler action!

I love hearing the heart beat, although makes me think I have a miniature helicopter in there (feels like it sometimes too) I manage not to well up these days though so might be getting a bit of my DHB status back.

Occers how very dare you to get on with your life when it might inconvenience some other people. It's not like you are embarking on one of the most important experiences of your life, is it? Which should have been postponed indefinitely until everyone ELSE was ok with it. Hmm Some people do say some very strange things. I think I've been pretty lucky to avoid all that tbh.

Hmm, where is meds this morning? Having a lovely lie in I hope.

I have been wondering where twinks is too. I hope everything is ok with her.

Ivegotmrbitey · 16/03/2011 09:34

It's the best sound in the world occy Smile

You should have told that idiot that you did it on purpose, we are all evil and selfish dontcha know?

The sonographer did say that she couldn't see anything obvious [ourkid] which makes me think it's a pink one. I think it's a girl but I would be just as delighted with a boy. Congratulations on viability too, and hope all goes well with the MW.

The FDH suspects that aqua bumps got the little one over excited and that I did it on purpose just to have a second look next week

I need an interim name for the biteybach, 'it' just isn't cutting the mustard. Actually, I like BiteyBach for its alliterative tone Smile

Medee · 16/03/2011 10:06

Still here. Ours has just been Baby, Junior, or 'it' which is a bit unfortunate but as my mother kept insisting on calling it "he" I had to counteract that.

Medee · 16/03/2011 10:06

oh, and NCT baby #2 has been born today - the mum was due the day before me, so maybe that bodes well.

OP posts:
owlbooty · 16/03/2011 10:17

It is indeed the best sound evah - makes me well up every time.

Occers please punch them on the nose, they deserve it. What an arse!

Bites I think when we are nervous about scans it tends to make the baybees much jumpier - Owlet has only been calm for one scan and it was the extra 12 week one I had when he was a bad-ass at the NHS one. It's the only time I've ever seen him lying quietly.

He is excessively active at the moment though, I wonder if listening to old Alice in Chains album on the way to work was an error? Either I've horrified him or he's dancing in there.

Meds I reckon it's going to be Friday evening. I shall start taking bets. :)

Ivegotmrbitey · 16/03/2011 10:23

Hmmmm, Saturday at 1.30pm I think. Chalk it down boots

AlpinePony · 16/03/2011 10:28

If anyone around here is going to perform the PESH holy grail of a "sneeze" and "fluffy white cotton towels", it'll be medee. My bet's on driving to the hospital tomorrow morning at 7:30am. Arrival 7:50am. Sneeze at 8am. Baybee in fluffy white towels at 8:01am. Home by 9am.

Ivegotmrbitey · 16/03/2011 10:30

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Smile

rocketleaf · 16/03/2011 10:32

Ooh i'll go for Sunday 5 am (sorry meds) Hope I am wrong :o

owlbooty · 16/03/2011 11:06

Is there such a thing as a double soft bastard? If so, we are turning into them

I blame hormones.

Pone that is super precise; I'm not sure about that leaving within the hour though - what about the tea and toast? Or were you thinking a full english breakfast prepared by Mr Meds upon arrival at home at 9am? :)

milanomum · 16/03/2011 11:17

Ohhh I'm going to go for things kicking off Friday at 11.40 pm with presentation of baybee in fluffy white towels around 3 am. Well, it worked for me Wink.

occy Luffly sound. I agree with using violence in the event of stupid people's comments.
