I went over to the Spa to nose at the man-bashing but beat a hasty retreat. If TYF stops doing his share of stuff we will basically be living in a new Ch4 show entitled 'Beyond How Clean Is Your House' (publicity shot shows Kim & Aggie weeping inside their hazmat suits).

Bitey, the subterfuge must be stressy and therefore Not Helpful Sad

Moley, we always knew it wasn't your nose you were on about; glad you're now admitting to your 'unique' genital deformity openly Wink

Boo - OrigiBESH is genius. You're pretty good at coining excellent phrases Envy

starcuntmole · 21/02/2011 19:58

casper, you're lovely, as are all FESH (love that people still refuse to believe that I am, in fact psycho stalker who knows all your business) Just felt that, as well as muscling in somewhat, that the baby talk re BF, FF weaning etc is really important, all advice crucial, and shouldn't be diluted by things that become important later on, such as how many times I am expected to clean up wee before I can Officially Declare Its Not Working (appear to have reached my limit at 6- that's not good is it?) and I know that ESH will tell it how like what it is too.
I don't want to start some kind of mass breakaway groupage, where there's a thread for the gingersWink one for 'ESH with one child and would like to get a cat' (anyone interested, see Boo) (who's working for you babe?) and one for people who aren't that fussed about Lucas, just saw gap from my point of view, and wondered if others felt the same. If it fizzles out, doesn't matter in the slightest- just thought I'd see if there was a place for it is all. However, now you've officially extended the invite to the Spa, let me regale you all with my tales of nipple fall offage...Wink

rocketleaf · 21/02/2011 19:58

I think orgyBESH is better

Loads of luck for the interview bitey it must be really frustrating having to keep it secret still. Nice cardi.

Well I am entrenched at my folks. Dad is very down, bless him but says he is much better for me being here. Just had a text from my sis saying the place is lovely so I am relieved about that seeing as I booked it all then didn't go. My name would have been mud if it was crap :o

Feel a bit crappy, think I need to go for a swim tomorrow, hopefully I can find a slot which isn't too over run with half term bedlam.

CurlyCasper · 21/02/2011 20:18

fred for gingers, you say? I'm there Wink

star and boo - totally understand your desire for a separate thread. But I can tell you the wee discussion sounds very familiar (poo? boxy? fanny? can't remember who, oldest ESH child is 8 I think). we also like to talk about poo - human, horse, dog, cat. And houses. And food. And men I might mosey over for some tips for the future.

Of course, I've still not finished packing.

CurlyCasper · 21/02/2011 20:19

p.s I want the orgyBESH fred.

NO BAYBEEE TALK ALLOWED.

Might even get iggy back if we include bumsex.

AlpinePony · 21/02/2011 20:24

The breakaway group would be the non-gingers,

Medee · 21/02/2011 22:11

I'm confused about breakaways, also Clubs and Penguins.

What was the OBEM verdict this week? Interesting episode, anyone else reckon the epidural was what slowed the older mum down? She was doing so well before.

OP posts:
Medee · 21/02/2011 22:12

And Scorps I saw this in Saturday's Guardian and thought of you - can't remember what all your allergies are, but figured a month of allergen-free baking might be of interest:

OP posts:
HighPriestessBoo · 21/02/2011 22:19

Well mebbes me and Moley can talk wee and then join in with the FESHes. Or we can RULE ALL OF MUMSNET WITH ESH freds in every corner (including the ginger orgy one :o ).

Was watching Outcasts so am now gonna watch OBEM on 4od so will give you my views after Medee.

rocketleaf · 21/02/2011 22:28

God those sound amazing!!! medee although now I would happily devour several penguins. (biscuit not avian kind) my parents house is sadly lacking in treats so I am tempted to get my bake on later in the week.

Or I might just buy some Penguins.

It is also sadly lacking in technology so no Outcasts and no OBEM (didn't think dad would appreciate it) so I'll have to wait til I get home To watch on demand. Oh well, off to bed to try and finish Wolf Hall.

HighPriestessBoo · 21/02/2011 22:34

Rocket Outcasts was proper goo this week. Shame there isn't going to be a new series now.

Casserole · 21/02/2011 22:44

Um. I bring word from the goddess Lyra

She is still waiting for her win, but ok otherwise. PapaLyra is still under treatment. She has just had lovely fun in sun holiday and so is now bronzed goddess rather than just goddess. She was pleased to hear of her subjects' kind thoughts on her behalf.

Scorpette · 21/02/2011 22:49

Aw, thanks, Medee. I saw those too but sadly I still can't have them. Sad Am hoping there'll be things I can have in the month of allergy-free baking. I ought to write in with a few suggestions!

Re: OBEM - I think the older Mum had started to slow down just before the epidural; maybe it was just 'one of those things' or maybe I'm wrong and it was that. I had a bit of a menkul when that girl was bleeding, cos I have a massive panicky phobia about the thought of haemorrhaging Confused (sorry for spoiler, Rocket - the girl was fine, worry not). Also, that receptionist annoys me. Has she ever thought that wimminz ringing up with urgent needs miiiiight not give a shit about her glitter pen? Hmm

I'm still partially deaf in my right ear since last week's mega-migraine - I really need to ring my GP, don't I? Have been hoping it'd just go off Sad

LadyGoneGaga · 21/02/2011 22:50

I think you might be right, Medee. And she seemed more cheerful pre-epi than after! The ventouse seemed quite gentle compared to the forceps outing the other day. I liked the comment the "young persons midwife" made about her and the girl being quite vocal. Came across as bit less judgy than they sometimes are.

Glad Lyra is doing ok and lovely and bronzed. Hope she gets her win soon and can take up one of these spaces in the Deli

I want cake. Or a penguin. Hmmm, I think we might have a cherry bakewell left. Will have to do...Night ladies.

LadyGoneGaga · 21/02/2011 22:51

Oh and good luck for Bitey's interview tomorrow. Am sure you will do smashingly well and not look preggers at all. Let us know how it went.

Scorpette · 21/02/2011 23:21

X-post! Thanks so much for the update, Cass. Glad that Lyra is a bronzed goddess, as is only befitting and that PapaLyra is still a fighter :) Lyra, there's a special throne here in the Deli with your name on it!

Good interview luck for tomorrow, Bitey - go get 'em, tiger!

Orchid12 · 22/02/2011 07:50

Wow, loads to catch up on!

Biteme good luck for the interview
Cass glad to hear Papa Lyra is ok, but would love to see the goddessLyra in here soon.
Scorps I soooo feel for you. I hope the ear sorts itself out. You deserve lots of cookies to fix it Biscuit

OBEM - I stayed awake long enough to watch it!! I felt v. sorry for the youngster. I felt that she had too many people all talking at the same time and not encouraging her to calm down. I could feel her panic and wanted someone to help her relax and talk her through it. I wasn't sure of the wisdom of telling her if it was hurting now, she would really feel it later (or some such words) at the start. That said, I did like the midwife who was looking after her and the girl seemed to put a lot of trust in her so they had obviously built up a good relationship pre birth. I also felt sorry for the other lady - I thought she was doing well for a while but then she lost it too. She seeemed to come through unscathed though as she said she wanted another after it was all other!! Maybe if she hadn't have had the epidural she would have been able to walk round and help things along a bit. I'm not sure being stuck on the bed helped her in the long run.

I've just got myself a hippo birthing book out of the library. I'm really thinking of giving it a go this time (although last time I think I did a version of this without realising it). After the 20 week scan, I feel so much more connected to squidge, and I had a nice time on Sat morning lying in bed when I first woke up really thinking about him/her as they were merrily dancing away. I'm not ashamed to say it brought a tear to my eye - was one of those lovely moments that you treasure.

laurielou · 22/02/2011 08:17

Morning!

Just a quickie (wahey!) as I have a day long meeting to endure & am feeling sicky today. Joy.

Bitey Good luck for the interview.

Cass Thanks for the update from Lyra. I too hope she takes up residence here soon.

Scorps Again, good for you being honest about ante-natal depression. Having read about your headaches its hardly surprising, you've really suffered, haven't you? Now, get to the GP about your lack of hearing.

Crap - have just read everything (I promise) & instantly forgotton it Blush. I'm having a bleurgh couple of days. Bug is also quiet - not sure who is affecting who.

OBEM - prolly coz of my mood, but I was crying during the intro last night. Fecking numpty. Enjoyed last night's episode though.

Finally, just want to wish Drom a massive good luck for tomorrow. Thinking of you loads & can't wait for an update.

Now, off to meeting where another diffed lady who is about 3 weeks behind me is attending. Dreading seeing her neat little bump as I roll in. Humpf!

owlbooty · 22/02/2011 09:14

I don't think that was a ventouse in the end; you could see the salad tong marks on the baybee whereas the ventouse leaves little round circle bruise, but I would guess by that point it was a very low down forceps thus not a full on foot-on-the-bed tug-of-war effort.

Am quite glad they didn't show the whole shebang though as Mr Boots was watching it with me (gasp!) and had already regaled me with questions such as 'what does 6 centimetres mean?' etc. I realise now that the nct class I have booked for him may prove useless as I will already have filled in all the gory details before we get to it.

Scorps in all honesty I'd be amazed if you weren't having some major low points given the rotten headaches. Hearing loss is not good though, def. time to visit the doc.

I too have forgotten everything, my brain is like mush today. Good luck Drom and Berwhale for tomorrow, hope it all goes well :)

Medee · 22/02/2011 09:53

Thanks for the Lyra update, Cassoulet.

Good luck today Bitey

Sorry to hear those are still verboten, Scorps - fingers crossed future recipes are better.

I agree ?Good-Morning-Labour-Ward-Nancy-Speaking? is probably the last person I want to speak to if I am in any worried or panicked. The Young person?s Midwife was lovely; I thought it interesting that the younger girls seem to scream their heads off, despite them having the physiology to allegedly just pop babies out.

I collected my TENS machine this morning from the sorting office, shall resist the urge to start testing it out just yet. At differs yoga, a new girl was saying she started taking Raspberry Leaf at 37 weeks last pregnancy and went into labour 5 days later! I started last Saturday, but just a cup of tea a day, while she was on 3 tablets a day. Also at differs yoga, someone else who had been at the same NHS AN class as my NCT colleagues repeated that the new pool isn?t ready. I am going to that class tonight, so maybe find out more.
In other news, I appear to have killed the Ipod, which was a bit of an issue as I settled down into bed to do my hypnobirthing track. Ooops. I disconnected it from the computer without ejecting it properly and it has failed to come back to life.

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 22/02/2011 10:13

Aaaaaaaaaaagh! I want a bloody gin! Hate interviews and now have a dose of the cold sweats ruining my carefully applied anti-blushing makeup! Thank you for all your kindly good luck wishes, interview is in two hours and can't wait for it to be over. Am going to celebrate by going swimming Smile.

muse if you plug it back and re-sync it that should do the trick. I have got an Ipod touch and turning it off for 30 secs and turning it back on again (yes that old chestnut) seems to jolt it out of its sulks.

LadyGoneGaga · 22/02/2011 10:24

Medee I was on three cups of Raspberry leaf tea a day from 32 weeks last tie. It doesn't make you go into labour - what it does it to help tone the uterus to make contractions more efficient when you do go into labour. So prob just a coincidence she went into labour really quickly.

I loved the TENS machine - was sad when had to take it off to get in the pool!

Ah makes sense they used forceps in end Bitey. My ventouse was a full on leg up on bed tug of war affair though. But we were both none the worse for it and by that time I would have happily had them dig him out with a JCB I was so fed up!

See Bitey - that must mean you have a differs glow - you are blooming! Good luck anyway, ducky. (Oooh, just went back to my roots a bit)

Back at work and had overwhelming urge to tidy my desk - is this nesting??!

rocketleaf · 22/02/2011 10:56

You a derbyshire lass then gaga?

Lovely to hear news of GoldenGoddessLyra and her pops. Thanks for the update stewpot There is a seat on reserve for her here fo sho.

Loads of luck with the interview biteme sure you will nail it.

Had fun last night while reading. Madam was kicking so hard my book was bouncing all over the shop :o But have finished Wolf Hall finally, it was definitely worth persevering.

rocketleaf · 22/02/2011 10:59

Oh meds if the old switch off and back on agan doesnt work try a soft reset. hold the middle button and the menu botton down at the same time for 10 seconds until the apple logo appears. this should sort it although its possible you will need to resync it to get your tunes back

LadyGoneGaga · 22/02/2011 11:19

Yep Rocket, born and bred, til I was 18 and headed off to Manchester for uni. Born in same town as another PESH. Now live in Spa town in South/West Midlands. Sadly have lost most of my accent though - MrG hasn't however and is very definitely a Northern boy.

Desk tiday - now on with the burgeoning to-do list which have been ignoring Sad. Only 71 more working days left until maternity leave
