RockLover · 28/01/2011 22:00

Busy night I see, I'm so Envy Sara. When's my turn?? Grin

Good luck!

CupcakesHay · 28/01/2011 23:39

OH MY F-ING GOD BUBBA - 12lb 3oz - OH MY Shock - but very pleased he's here! Lachlan - lovely lovely name too! Oh my - still in shock about weight. Pleased he's doing better, and pleased you are OK.

And sara WOW - you cheeky mare - you were meant to be same time as me! I'm going to be all on my own I know it But very very pleased for you - hope all goes well - and promise to log in and tell us everything as soon as you can! Wink

So..... what's up with the rest of us? And especially- sorry - but DEVON GIRLS - come on - we're letting the side down! Smile And pootle, running.... is there any more left to pop?

At this rate I might trasnfer to the late february group! ha ha!

crysty poor you but don't feel guilty about everyone. You're allowed to get annoyed with people for asking a stupid question! i swerved a call at 10am this morning from DH's aunt - who i LOVE normally - but just couldn't be botehred to talk to her Blush - fill really bad - so should call her tomorrow.... should...!

fuzzy - your DD sounds adorable - and dying to see pictures! It might keep me going! I looked at flora's pics again - she looks so serene and i just break into a smile when I see her cuddling her little boy! Grin Same for kali

rock cake and party sounds nice.... not sure about your weekend "plans" - funnily enough I've had internal exams from day 1 with my syrian doc - so i'm kind of used to them. At least you have lovely shaved legs.

This weekend - i'll be mostly eating gaviscon tablets Grin

No, my plans - steak on the rocks tomorrow night, Dh is going to pub with my dad to watch footie in the afternoon, and me and my mum are sticking stuff on ebay. Sunday - no idea... HOPEFULLY giving birth? ha ha! it is my due date! Hmm Roast dinner (of course) on sunday - and crossword.... not sure what else!

Also, sent DH up into loft tonight, and lucky he went - as my jumperoo and my pram started getting a tiny bit of mildew on it - so we've whipped it out - and me and mum are going to sort tomorrow.... hopefully a bit of heating will help!

Ok - i'm trying not to think of it, but really, i think i might cry if i get to 41 weeks.... is that a bad thing to say - i think cos i've been watchign you lot go through the mill - all a couple of weeks ahead of me - i'm just dreading it all!

don't worry cupcakes still here- must have been a false alarm/practice run! Happened last time with DS1 - a week before my actual labour- so I could be late if same happens again!

sigh, was getting excited and DH was convinced we'd be in hospital by now.. oh well put me back in the waiting room Grin

Crystylline · 29/01/2011 10:23

aw sara i know how you feel! at least it's an indicator that your body is ready and your LO is on their way soon.

cupcakes thanks. i'm still dodging people this morning...

nice weekend plans, especially the gaviscon Grin

dreamt about being eaten by a giant baby last night... 12lb, 3oz!!! argh! bubba - you's a brave lady.

LadyBuzz · 29/01/2011 10:36

bubba you star, Congratulations what a big boy. Lovely name too.

sara sorry to hear everything stopped.

cyrsty I don't blame you for being a tiny bit stroppy, its very very annoying!

Well I am actually planning on leaving my house today, only to my Dads but at least it will be a different 4 walls to look at - its driving me mad being stuck in!

Pootle78 · 29/01/2011 10:50

Checking in :(

Bubba OMG my eyes are watering from that, 12lb 3oz - ouch! Glad he is out of trouble and back with you on the ward.

sara thought we were going to have another queue jumper, but then read your most recent post :( for you for it stopping.

Crystyl hope you're feeling happier today, I have one person who keeps posting on facebook, when are you due, how many days late are you and I'm just like f**k off! Especially when it is more of an extended friend and wouldn't be in the first round of texts when the news finally breaks! We're allowed to be p'd off, we're over due!

Rock good luck with the sweep today - is that right to say good luck Hmm But no queue jumping!!!

Cupcakes I have been taking Peptac for heartburn which seems to have got worse over the last few days :( Got told not to swig gaviscon out of the bottle as it stops you absorbing the vitamins you do need

Lady glad you are getting out, at least as you say, different walls to look at and you will be waited on hand and foot I am sure!

And where is Running?

DH is off getting my KK's, should be back by 12.30 so can't go into labour before then, although can't see it happening - god this is a wo is me thread!!!

My hips are really hurting me and I just want to lounge around but dh is insisting I get up and about moving, any suggestions that don't involve walking to far?

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 29/01/2011 10:53

Hello all! Congratulations to a;; the new births!

I have been up since 2am with 'contractions' coming every 6-15mins and lasting between 20 and 45 seconds. Feel quite sore down there and twingy and baby is wriggling like mad! They seemed to have tailed off a bit now though. Actually just had another one that was quite ouchy! So definately in early labour! DS has gone to my MIL for the day and DP has popped into work so I think I'll go back to bed and try and catch up on some sleep although lying down and resting seems to make them come more painful and regular. No show yet!

Pootle78 · 29/01/2011 11:01

Fingers crossed breastmilk, you do realise there is a queue though? Grin Wink Smile

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 29/01/2011 11:05

Grin sorry to queue jump but knowing the way I labour, you have nothing to worry about! This could go on until next week!

CupcakesHay · 29/01/2011 11:18

Ooooh breastmilk great news for you - and pleased you popped in Grin - let's hope you popped out quickly.

Aaaah poor sara Sad - although secretly pleased that you're still around to keep me company Blush

Well - i had a disappointment last night - woke at 2am with proper (or what i thought was proper) contractions - went on for a minute, every 10 mins or so... and when i moved around they contiued. And they were painful - not AAAAARRRGGGGHHH painful but definitely OOOOW painful. Anyhow - thought it was best to lie down and try and just kind of nap - thinking i might wake up when they got worse - and woke up at 5am for a wee and nothing Sad

And then (TMI) i thought i'd lost my mucas plug at 6.30 when i went for wee as felt something slimey - but no just was horrid discharge.

So no news from me, and no queue jumping from me either Sad

Although i know i'm only due on sunday - i'm just soooooo worried i'll be the only one on here! I mean I know pootle, sara, crysty, rock still have to pop - but even their babies can't be that far off????

Ok Smile i'm going to be positive now...

pootle is today your Krispy Kreme day? YAY! That'll make up Hmm for no baby! How about going swimming - helped my hips when they were killing me?

And ladybuzz good for you leaving the house. I bet I get the same - where i'll be desperate to leave the hous.e How's your inection? And as ever - thank you for popping in to see us Smile

No rock as yet?

Right - crumpets are calling.....

RockLover · 29/01/2011 14:15

Hi ladies! Sorry I didn't pop in this morning, but was very nervous about my sweep. I hate to say that I did find it extremely painful and had to ask mw to stop the first time, but she managed it the second time.

I was very embarrassed about being such a wuss but mw was lovely and she said I clearly find it much more painful than alot of women (I love my body Hmm). So she has written on my birth notes that they have to be gentle with me lol. I feel such a prat though!

Anyway, the upshot is that my cervix is soft, which is good and I am 1-2cm dilated, but that is normal for a second pregnancy, so it doesn't mean I am on the verge of labour :(. But she could feel the baby's head and he is very low down, so some good news and some not so good.

I am booked in for another sweep on Monday, God help me, but I will brave it out no matter how shit it was.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

Pootle78 · 29/01/2011 14:16

The Krispy Kremes have arrived!

There must be a lot going on out there as this is the quietest I've seen this thread for a long time!

Pootle78 · 29/01/2011 14:21

X post rock , bless you. But did make me smile about the be gentle on your notes. Hopefully this will start things off and you won't need your 2nd sweep.

Crystylline · 29/01/2011 14:38

glad you're ok rock. i won't have my first sweep until tuesday, so we can wince together! (i'm not looking forward to it)

yay for KKs! pootle

i'mm still here. lurking, eating and womdering whether i'm being a wuss, cos i'd love to go for a walk, but it's flipping freezing and windy!

RockLover · 29/01/2011 14:44

Crysty don't worry too much about the sweep I have always been extremely sensitive "down there" and even the mw could see I found it more difficult than alot of women. So I'm sure you'll be fine, I'm just Mrs Wimpy Wuss!

I'm having a chinese take-away tonight to get me over the trauma (at least that's how I put it to DP so I could get my own way hehe).

Crystylline · 29/01/2011 14:48

rock then you have my absolute sympathy. I'm terrible with smear tests and any kind of prodding "down there", so possibly will be similarly squirmy...

wish there was a bloody take away within half hour of here!

love the countryside, but sometimes i really just crave junk food. the good side is that i just can't have it, the bad is that sometimes it makes me want it more!!

RockLover · 29/01/2011 14:54

Yeah I am lucky that I live in a rural town that is small and next to lovely countryside, but does have a few decent take-aways.

However, I was craving McDonalds in the 2nd trimester and the nearest one to me is Newton Abbot. I really couldn't be arsed to drive 20 minutes to the next town just for a Big Mac!

But I do intend to treat myself to a Big Mac meal once baby is born and before I start my healthy eating regime (supposedly).

CupcakesHay · 29/01/2011 15:01

I'm still here too - was catching up on larkrise/candleford while DH nad dad were out watching footie!

Sorry about painful sweep rock - i was kind of hopefully you might have been popping baby out! And like the whole "gentle" bit on your notes.

What flavour KKs did you get pootle

Mmmmm - McDonalds - know what you mean rock - i made Dad go via McD aftr picking up Dh the other day - i just LOVE the chicken nuggets.

I'm off for steak on the rocks tongiht - and very much looking forward to it. It's basically huge slab of stone heated up for 24 hours, and then they bring you your steak on it, and you kind of cook it to how you like it to be.... mmm.... and i'm goign to have mushrooms, and squeeze a starter in (might be naughty and have deep fried camembert!)

And no wonder it's so quiet on here - everyone else is busy changing nappies Wink

I am seriously considering phoning m/w on monday and seeing if they can squeeze me in for a sweep on tuesday... Hmm but don;t want to seem too demanding/precious....

gallicgirl · 29/01/2011 15:06

Congratulations bubba but OMG my eyes are watering at the thought of a 12lb baby. 7lb was bad enough.

I hope everyone else is well and their little ones arrive soon. Please make sure you all eat lots and get lots of rest and sleep now because you will need it later!

We're struggling a bit with BF at the moment - lazy baby won't stay awake long enough to feed for a decent amount of time but we're getting there. I did manage to get dressed and put contact lenses in today so feeling a bit more human! :)

I'll keep checking in to see what's happening with our January babes - it's nice to have something to read in the middle of the night.

RockLover · 29/01/2011 15:08

I can bet that I'll be the last one left on here cupcakes, look at you with your contractions last night. I haven't had any action like that! I'm fed up with waiting already, I want this little boy out!

ZippyPippy · 29/01/2011 15:11

WOW congrats bubba and WELL DONE YOU Grin

Great to hear everyone's news and looking forward to more arrivals!!

We're doing good, my little boy is finally getting the hang of breastfeeding, it is demanding and difficult though but I'm taking one day at a time. Getting used to the sleep deprivation and taking the odd hour and here when I can - I do wonder if life will ever feel normal again!! He is worth every minute though and totally gorgeous.

Keep hanging in there those of you waiting!!

Crystylline · 29/01/2011 15:18

hello new mummies! zippy and gallic

glad you're both doing well.

i'm quite often up lurking in the middle of the night, so if any of you are about, just post, cos i'm likely to reply!

i've been haunting the insomnia threads in chat too!

after labour, i think BF is going to be the next huge challenge.

If either of you have any useful tips, please share....

and rock, cupcakes.... the rule of Sod suggests that I'll be the last lass standing! we're all so nearly there though. just think, in two weeks time, none of us will be preggers anymore and we'll all be in post natal with the new yummy mummies.
