LadyBuzz · 06/02/2011 13:56

Oh FFS I WILL learn to link properly!!!

Fuzzywood · 06/02/2011 14:01

I too have been caught out with the being peed on by my little man. I've resorted to a strategically placed tissue or piece of cotton wool which at least avoids it going too far!
It's a good job that Evan is sleeping well as it's chaos here today, SIL around with her 2 girls who are 3 and almost 1 and the little man is just sleeping through it bless him.
Hope all the delivering ladies are doing ok, it's still very quiet on here.

gallicgirl · 06/02/2011 14:28

We're all busy looking after our new borns!

MW came today and DD is gaining weight but now has thrush :(

We've had a hard time BF and had to spend a couple of nights in hospital while she gained some weight. Luckily the EBF means I probably don't have thrush as she hasn't been on the breast much.

If it makes you feel better bubba even little girls wee spontaneously sometimes.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 06/02/2011 14:48

I've tried the cotton wool and loo roll palava - he just wees straight through it!!! :o Hmm

LOVE the idea of sticking a teepee on him!!! rofl - might have to get some just to have a good laugh while changing him!! :o

Girls' wee goes down into the nappy - his wee goes everywhere (including over his little face :( :( :o :( :( )

Not sure there's enough of the wee willy for it to point downwards yet LadyB!! Hmm :o but will look out for that when it grows a bit! Shock.

Off for a snooze - fed every 2 hrs last night and awake for at least 1/2 an hour each time. Knackerooooo!

Crystylline · 06/02/2011 18:24

Still bloody waiting... No more contractions, but plug has home again. Resigned to the induction tomorrow now. Your baby wee stories are making Mr laugh though.

Sorry this brief. Folks are here and I'm off to have one more bath and stern chat with bump.

loopeylu · 06/02/2011 19:36

Hang on in there Crysty - share your frustration after a night of contractions, absolutely NOTHING today. As a result, I too am resigned to induction on Tuesday.

Ho hum. If it is any consolation, induction isn't bad - I had it with my first.

Keep us posted.

SaraL77 · 06/02/2011 20:00

ahh the peeing- my little man has peed on himself but I know it's just a matter of time before it goes across the room, or on me!

BF has been an absolute nightmare- fast forward to this morning, hardly any sleep, 2 cracked and bleeding nipples, can't express, can't bf, lots of tears (mine and his)on to formula- I managed a week.

sigh. on the plus side a huge weight has been lifted now I've made a decision to go to formula -for my sanity and for his wellbeing, but will feel guilty for ever. Next problem- dealing with hugely engorged boobs that I can't express because otherwise I'll stimulate more milk production. Feel like pamela anderson and the pain is horrendous....

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 06/02/2011 20:15

Oh poor you crystyll - thought your silence meant things had started happening. At least you know that once you go into hospital tomorrow, you'll only come home with a babe in your arms. I do feel for you though - 11 days overdue cannot be fun :(

LadyBuzz · 06/02/2011 21:07

sara i feel your pain, that was me last week.

They looked fab Grin but were so so painful, it did start to ease off after a couple of days, hope you get some relief soon.
Try not to feel guilty, I have failed 3 times now, It was 1 less thing to worry about and saved my sanity this time round. You managed a week which is fab.

crysty & loopey good luck for the inductions if nothing happens before then!

Fuzzywood · 06/02/2011 22:19

Poor you Crysty I know how you feel, being so late was a complete pain, it'll all be worth it though.
Sara at the danger if sounding patronising, don't feel guilty about going to formula. If it's at the stage where both of you are in tears for what it's worth I think you did the right thing. I stopped bf last time almost overnight because DD refused anything but formula when she was a few months old and ended up with very sore boobs, a warm flannel on them seemed to help a bit. Hope you feel better soon and can now enjoy your little man a bit more if you're not worrying about the feeding.
Hang on in there Loopey Smile

thanks Ladybuzz Fuzzy & jjkm I think the harshest critic is myself- it seems so idylic- earth mother bf baby with a smile on her face, the reality for me was very different! And I would express a bit to feel more comfortable but due to my traumatised nipples I just can't face anything like that- cant even touch them myself Sad God I hope it goes down soon, and yes he got the most important bit- the colostrum and now I'm sooo much happier- a huge weight has been lifted.

crysty hope things happen for you soon!

RockLover · 07/02/2011 14:08

Hi ladies, gorgeous George Christopher was born on the 5th of Feb at 1am by c-section, hard work, but worth it.

Just got home about an hour ago, feeling very sore and looking very fat! Congrats to everone else who've popped while I was doing the same.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 07/02/2011 15:19

Congratulations Rock - gorgeous George!! :) Love the name (it was on my shortlist too) - you're home quickly after a c-section! hope DP's taking good care of you. Looking forward to hearing the story when you get a free moment!!! :O

RunningKatie · 07/02/2011 16:09

Just reporting back at last, Isobel Millie arrived on Saturday at 10.24am.

Had one gel for the induction, and the little poppet shot out like the proverbial rocket after a 3hour 24min labour. This was about 10mins after I'd announced I couldn't cope, I was worse than all the women on OBEM and could I have an epidural please? Oh, and I needed a poo, which was actually baby appearing rather faster than the midwife expected! DP assures me I did not swear, I did however scream the hospital down as I didn't even get time to put the TENS machine on! :)

Will check back on everyone else's news - although I see Rock had a George, that was the name we were going to give bump if it was a boy. Many congrats. And no Cupcakes on this page? Has she queue jumped?

SaraL77 · 07/02/2011 16:22

Congratulations Rock and Running great news!

wow that was a quick labour- similar length to mine- luckily you were in hospital already unlike me!

LadyBuzz · 07/02/2011 16:23

rock & running huge congratulations to you both.

how lovely, more babies - no crystyl today??

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 07/02/2011 16:35

Wow congrats to you all! I am startng to feel a bit better although am still bleeding quite a lot 11 days later. Hopefully nothing more to worry about? Saskia is beautiful and the BF is finally starting to be more enjoyable than hellish - cannot believe how much it hurt in the beginning. Slightly sick of being patronised by midwives, some of whom seem convinced that my first priority is to neglect my daughter... but maybe after the monumental cock-up of the birth combined with a week long stay in hospital has made me cynical!
Hope you are all doing OK - am fine although the foot long dictator who now lives with us has decreed that nighttime is not for sleeping. Which is nice.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 07/02/2011 18:01

lol @ "FOOT-LONG DICTATOR" :O :O

Glad things are calming down a bit for you now, and your little dictator is making up for the hassle she caused you! - I'm also still bleeding quite a bit - it died down a bit twice then started back with a vengeance again both times.

stitches also feeling a bit Hmm today, so now sitting gingerly waiting for HV/MW visit on Weds Confused

cyberfairy · 07/02/2011 19:53

For all those who have had stitches, I am now sitting on a foam ring cushion from the pharmacy-fourteen quid but a real relief if you are like a car crash down below...Three Bubbas, sorry for lack of detail again, feeling rather spangled at the moment, Rowan was born on the fourth February. He is very alert today and feeding well-after feeling lively, energetic and utterly blissful for last few days, felt shocking, achey and grumpy today-lack of sleep starting to catch up but still happier than I have ever been.
Anyone else finding newborn clothing too big?
Congratulations all x

CupcakesHay · 07/02/2011 20:00

OMIGOD - need to read posts tomorrow. no one told me how shattering haveing a baby was!!!!!!

So - I see I wasn't the only one huffing and puffing on the 5th Feb!!!!

Ok - so long story short - was in labour fridya night, made dad take us to hospital at 1am. Went to triage - was there til 7am - kept monitoring me as baby's heartbeat dipped everytime i had contraction. So then they decided to admit - and I got epidural (YAY!Smile) - so managed to sleep from 11.30-1pm - amazing stuff - would recommend it. Then at 1.30 - baby's heartbeat still dipping - they went in, took 4 blood samples from baby's head Sad and all 4 came back with inconclusive results as the 2 machines they tried weren't working Hmm.

So - i was taken in for an emergency c-section! They gave Dh scrubs 2 sizes too small and the anaesthetist who was so funny and nice took photos of me, and also DH's crack of his arse! which made me laugh during c-section.... and Jesse William was born at 15.27 and weighed in at 7lb 1oz. Grin - so was stiched - Jesse and DH were taken into other room and DH had soooooo much skin to skin that I think Jesse even went for his moob Wink

In the end the nice surgeon and anaesthetist who looked afetr us were getting so frustrated that they went and got me a bed as the porters just didn't turn up and i was DESPERATE to see Jesse. And by the time i got there, he was sooooo tired he just snuggled up on me and went to sleep.

So Very Happy mummy got loads of sleep first night - was kept in for 2 nights -home toay about 6pm.... and SHATTERED but very very happy.

Jesse has mop of blonde hair, tiny cut on head from the blood smaple thingy and he has a tiny cleft lip (but luckily not pallette)

Brreast feeding is Shock okay-sih - baby far too lazy to do anything - he just lvoes to sleep - although i spent all night up with him last night - and he slept all day.

God - c-sections are so painful afterwards- can't believe celebs choose to have them.

So pleased for running, rock, cyber and travis - want to cathc up - will do it tomorrow - and post pics too..... and was SO depserate to log in with you - but no wifi for me unlike fancy ladybuzz! Grin

God so tired - how do you girls do it with more than 1 kid???????

Night - more tomo. x

Ps. Can someone update for me?

PPS. Did i tell you how adorable my son is Grin

CupcakesHay · 07/02/2011 20:01

PPPS. Jess was born on 5th too! So does that make him a triplet with George and Isobel?

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 07/02/2011 20:04

cyberfairy yes newborn clothes are still mostly huge on Kali, she is just starting to fill the smaller ones and she is 3 weeks old tomorrow. I do have a few early and tiny baby things that I had bagged and thrown in a corner not expecting to need them which have come in handy!
bubba i'm guessing you don't have that problem Grin Grin

LadyBuzz · 07/02/2011 20:08

ooooh x post. Congratulations cupcakes how fab, love the name.

You look after yourself and take it easy after the section.
