Thanks madinitials still hope to avoid the induction but I am getting resigned to it now. An hour on the Wii fit had no effect but it did distract me. I hope your little boy arrives soon Smile

CupcakesHay · 03/02/2011 21:09

I wish i had the libido to even think about getting jiggy Blush although creme eggs sound yum!

Going swimming AGAIN tomorrow (ugh) but feel the same as you trees - and think i'll end up being induced. My secret hope now is no c-section!

oooh - going to watch Marchlands now - maybe that'll scare the baby out!

Crystylline · 03/02/2011 21:15

congrats TBOM can't wait for the birth story.

bubba particularly appreciate the capitalisation of the subject matter! i have no idea how on earth i'd manage it - dread to think how chaotic i'll get with just one.

cupackes swimming definitely! might even go myself tomorrow if i can find a costume that will fit me and bump!

running is being induced tomorrow i think and my appt is monday. i have three days and one sweep to persuade bump to become a baby before the doctors start getting involved. COME ON BUMP!

Crystylline · 03/02/2011 21:16

xpost - i've just remembered i have mini eggs! (tee hee) who needs men when you can have chocolate! Grin

CupcakesHay · 03/02/2011 21:42

ha ha - agree crysty rather have chocolate than men most of the time! Smile

I have a sweep booked on Monday.. so I reckon baby needs to turn before then! And then the sweep will work and the baby will just do a salt and my waters will break at the doctor's.

(that was salt -right? I've lost track of all the birth stories!)

Ta-daa! Grin

7lbs 4oz, born at 12.03 last Friday. Kept getting on-off Braxton hicks in the couple of days beforehand, then on Friday woke up at about half seven, felt a bit uncomfortable, progressed within minutes to extremely unmistakable contracting. Had a go at timing them and they seemed to be every three minutes, at which point I remember thinking I must be timing them wrong, but was in quite a bit of pain so called DP back from work anyway. DP arrived about nine, inflated pool while I wriggled around and was generally grumpy, then at some point called midwife at my request.

The midwife arrived (DP thinks this was about quarter to eleven), said she might transfer me into hospital as there was a lot of blood, but then after examining me said I was 7 centimeters dilated so it'd be better if we stayed where we were. By the time the second midwife had arrived I was involuntarily pushing, had some gas and air, and baby Ezra was in the world by midday. :)

Kept meaning to come back on here to let you all know, but have been a bit distracted. Blush Grin

Unfortunately now there's hundreds of posts that I've missed! Congrats to all who've graduated though, good luck to the MIAs and hello to those who are still waiting!

CupcakesHay · 04/02/2011 05:19

YAY RYUK - i was wondering if you'd gone to deepest darkest bulgaria to have the baby!!!! Oh well done you - you make it sound lovely and easy. And what a lovely name - and now I can update the list - my new favourite thing to do whilst I'm waiting! Wink

Really pleased for you though! Grin Grin

Well - i have a touch of the runs Sad and heartburn Sad AND painful Braxtons Sad - so sitting in front room at 5am alternating between MN, watching glee with one eye, and running to the loo. LOVELY!

I'm hoping the BHs are a good sign - but seeing as i've had them on/off all week - can't see it - although they are quite strong tonight.... Hmm

And haven't noticed running on here today - adn she's due inducing tomorrow - so GOOD LUCK lovely ikea-going-mad-teaspoon-cleaning-girl! Smile

how's the insomnia cupcakes? I've been up since about 4am as well. have finally given in and got up to have breakfast.

congrats RYUK very quick labour! bet you were glad for a home birth.

right... cereals or toast, or both?

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 04/02/2011 08:56

Hurrah for you ryuk - lovely name too. :)

RunningKatie · 04/02/2011 09:45

This is my last roll call morning I promise as I don't have a fancy smartphone to connect in from the hospital.

Still no news! Going in for 4pm and then not allowed out till the little one appears one way or another. Am swinging between nervous and excited, eating lots of creme eggs to keep my strength up!

Congrats to TBMOM and ryuk - that sounds like a lovely speedy birth and a fab name too. :)

Reflexology last night was lovely, she was so nice and we just chatted away whilst I chilled out. Baby managed to helpfully get themselves lodged under my ribs which wasn't the most comfortable but they moved again before bedtime thankfully.

Cupcakes - you aren't going to call your baby Bowling Ball are you? I thought it was Kurt? At some point I must watch Glee to see what it's all about!

Crystylline · 04/02/2011 11:09

katie wishing you lots of happy, relaxed thoughts for the day. I'm sure the creme eggs will do their magic, as will you!

see you on the other side!

Madinitials · 04/02/2011 11:10

Congrats RYUK - hope our births are as quick as yours.

Running good luck for this afternoon. I think creme eggs are meant to be good for opening up the cervix - tee hee!!

Cupcakes the runs are good!! I've read that they are meant to be a sign of imminent labour as your body evacuates all waste. Fingers crossed.

LadyBuzz · 04/02/2011 11:47

Congrats RYUK lovely name!

Good luck running see you when you have your baby!

fingers are firmly crossed for the rest of you Grin

Fuzzywood · 04/02/2011 11:58

Congrats TBOM and Ryuk, lovely names and glad all is well with you both and the little ones.
Good luck for later Running.
Sounds like there may be some positive movement Cupcakes, fingers crossed.

farawaytrees · 04/02/2011 12:04

Congrats to RYUK!

Cupcakes, I agree with Madinitials the painful braxton hicks and other symptoms are good signs that your boy may be on his way soon!

Good Luck Running, I am sure it will all be fine. I have to go in for my induction tomorrow morning at 8.30. Going out for a pizza in a minute to take my mind off things!Smile

CupcakesHay · 04/02/2011 12:32

Damn - missed running I think! But sending virtual thoughts to her Smile Aaah - running's last roll-call! I thought the day would never come!

Have had BHs all morning - and doesn't seem like they are going - so the only consellation is that they might be a sign that this baby wants to come out? Or he might just be tricking me Grin

But f-ing painful and feel quite drained - couldn't even make it to swimming.

And Kurt's (hopefully) going to be the second middle name - DH only wants one - but I think i can use emotional blackmail... you'll have to wait to hear first name til he FINALLY comes - although i did decide first name in June! Grin Again... had to badger DH til he agreed on it - I found it useful suggesting awful names, so eventually he thought the name i picked was good!

What did you have for breakfast crysty?

OP posts:
CupcakesHay · 04/02/2011 12:34

Oooh - sorry - missed a bit of your post trees - induction.... yay! Smile

RunningKatie · 04/02/2011 12:54

I am still here, hospital just rang to say to delay going in as labour ward is full. Got to ring at 6pm to see when I can go in.

Off to buy some chocolate and then have a nap.

Crystylline · 04/02/2011 13:00

oh crap katie... however, what do we think the chances are you'll now start going into labour of your own accord!! just when they are busiest and you're not expecting it!

i've eaten badly today! toast and cereals and not much else.

dodgy stomach and cramps (not contractions sadly)

had a mid-morning nap to make up for the terrible sleep earlier, but think will do some cooking/tidying for the rest of the afternoon.

no chance of a walk, the weather is horrible!

CupcakesHay · 04/02/2011 13:28

Oh crap running - that's rubbish! Sad Angry Good call on the chocolate though!

Can i join the "eaten crap" club crysty - i just had beans, hash browns and turkey drummers for lunch! And going to eat a throntons lolly for pudding.

Still getting the BHs.

Dh wants to go for walk but really cna't face it... just want to lie in bed screaming... ha ha - what am I going to be like during the real contractions?

OOoooow. Another one. At least i can practice my breathing but doesn;t do much to ease pain IMO.

OP posts:
Crystylline · 04/02/2011 14:10

are you sure they're BH cupcakes? mine usually go away if i get up and go do stuff, or have a bath and they're v. irregular too.

need to have a good tidy up before family arrive tomorrow and haven't made up their beds yet... oops!

and afternoon everyone else. not long and not many of us left to pop now and then we can have a shiny new thread in post-natal where will prob be mostly sleep deprived (still), but v. happy.

RunningKatie · 04/02/2011 15:05

Cupcakes, that all sounds very interesting, are you sure you're not jumping the queue here?

I've come to the conclusion I'm like a jumbo jet at the moment, circling the runway waiting to be told when I can land. Hmm

Trees - good luck for tomorrow morning.

And good luck Crysty too, here's hoping that by the beginning of next week we have a lot more of these babies with us! :)

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 04/02/2011 16:07

cupcakes are you tming them just in case ??!! Hmm :o {hmm}

boo to delay running - hope the other women in the ward bugger off move on quickly to free up some space for you

just spent a day being thoroughly spoiled by one of my best friends - she entertained the troops (incl. 2 of her own),fed us all and cuddled Lachlan while I had a hot cuppa - all the while catching up with each other too! lush :)

DH should be home soon to start his 2 weeks' paternity leave :) :)
