Ok girls - I've started the new thread... just figured pootle might be busy popping! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gallicgirl · 05/02/2011 15:32

Congrats to everyone who has or is about to pop! Hope it all goes well.

I'm impressed with people posting here while having contractions or in early labour. My contractions were already 15 minutes apart when they started and were less than 5 minutes apart within a couple of hours. It was all I could do to time them and call hospital!

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 05/02/2011 15:33

Crikey Fuzzy, i think that lot must finally be popping after all!! This has to be a record 7+ hrs with no messages! Can't wait! :o

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 05/02/2011 15:35

ooh x-post with you gallic. It made me :o and Shock that they could post mid-contractions too!

LadyBuzz · 05/02/2011 16:59

it is very very quiet, how funny if they all pop together!

come on ladies!

Fuzzywood · 05/02/2011 17:38

Looks like you might be right, its never been this quiet! These babies must be like London buses...
Hope all is going well for them all.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 05/02/2011 17:44

Hey fuzzy and buzzy :o how are your other kiddies coping with their new siblings? we have an over-the-top-love-fest going on from my DD2, and a proud-but-not-too-enthusiastic interest from DD1 :o

SaraL77 · 05/02/2011 18:14

Not many of you left to go now- I havent been able to catch up with all the threads since I posted- my god I never knew breastfeeding would be so hard (failed with DS1) keep persevering- it's early days. When you've had 2 hours sleep and baby is screaming it's hard to see that it's ever going to get better!

good luck to all those waiting!!

oh and just something from my recent birth experience, if you're getting contractions and they're really bad, go with your instincts! I listened to the mw at the hospital who said I couldn't be in labour as my contractions were irregular-and told me to 'go have a bath' fast forward 45 mins and baby born outside the hospital!

LadyBuzz · 05/02/2011 19:32

bubba other way round here, DS1 loves her and wants to hold her and touch her all the time, DS2 not quite so fussy he does like a kiss though Grin. He is very very clingy to DH though, went to SILs today and she had to bring him home, yet he has been fine all week and DH has been at work Hmm

DS2 seems so huge now too!!

sara i think you are well qualified to give that advice Grin and it is astonishing how often it does happen.

I have Wine Grin

Fuzzywood · 05/02/2011 19:43

DD is not too bad with him. Flits between wanting to hug him and kiss him or insisting he goes back in his basket and away from her. She's kicking off a bit with pushing the boundaries a bit but nothing too major. Must be a bit of a shock for her.
Still no sign of people tonight hope they're all having as easy a time as possible.
Good for you with hanging on in there with the feeding Sara it is hard work at first but think it's getting easier here now.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 05/02/2011 20:04

Yes the big ones seem huuuuuuuuuuge don't they?! :o

DD2 also says "put him back in the cot now mummy" :o :o
DD1 said "put him back in you tummy, mummy" Shock OW!!!! Shock Hmm

I'm dining out on your birth story sara - hope you're okay?

Pass me a glass Wine ladyb

Crystylline · 05/02/2011 20:22

as predicted... i'm still here.

contractions disappeared and keep coming back sporadically. have tried walking, cleaning and sleeping to get them to be moRe regular, but nowt doing!

ah well... i shall trick my body into sleeping and see if that has any effect.

enjoy your Wine. i hope i can have some soon and a reason to celebrate!

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 05/02/2011 20:27

oh boo - poor you crystyll - thought you were huffing and puffing as we typed. still, contractions you've had will do good things for your labour supposedly.

LadyBuzz · 05/02/2011 21:23

awww crysty poor thing, come on baby! it must be most frustrating.

travispickles · 05/02/2011 21:40

Am back! Been in hospital over a week after the birth story from Hell... But I now have abeautiful little girl called Saskia Faye who is a little treasure. She was born 27/1/11 after EmCS, 50 hours after waters broke. I was induced due to infection, got to nearly 10cm and they realised she was stuck. They used the epidural in caesarian but it wasn't working well so I could still feel some pain Shock. |They gave me ketamine which gave me horrific hallucinations and the incision tore so I haemmoraged losing 1 1/2 litres blood. Saskia was born with infection so rushed to SCBU and put on penicillin drip.Whilst in hospital the infection got stuck in on me and I ended up on 3 different antibiotic drips. Am now seriously anaemic and traumatised.... But the baby is so beautiful that I am happy to only have the one child!! Hope your stories were less horrific and your lo s are doing well.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 05/02/2011 22:37

Oh my God travis poor you and poor little Saskia. Are you both still in hospital or back home? Congratulations though - good day to be born (mine was 27th too) - also went to scbu but only for 24 hrs although it felt like days, so God knows how you must have felt. Did you have a blood transfusion? Is she still on antibiotics? Have you got lots of people to rally round and help you? It's so hard at the start, especially if you're anaemic and weak. It can only get better though now, and gazing in adoration is a good healer in itself! :) :)

cyberfairy · 05/02/2011 22:57

Hello, been good to catch up on this thread and hope you ok Travis-I have had a rather traumatic birth as well but the end result is worth it Smile

Fuzzywood · 05/02/2011 23:08

Oh Travis you poor thing. Glad you're both on the mend. Make sure you remember to take care of yourself as well as Saskia (beautiful name).
How are things with you now Cyber?
There must be some babies being born tonight, it's so quiet on here.

Congratulations though, Saskia is a gorgeous name.

oh and re the anaemia, if you can get yourself some spatone, my MW told me it is actually better then the ferrous sulphate and the side effects are no where near as bad.
Can't get it prescribed unfortunately.

Look after yourself and enjoy your LO.

I agree btw with LadyB and spatone, though it is ridiculously expensive. Not nearly as constipating as iron tablets - which I've come off now for that very reason (piles the size of the Himalayas - did I mention that lovely image already?? Blush :o

Just updating Kali's details!

Bubba lovely image Grin and yes me too Grin aint this glamourous!

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 06/02/2011 13:24

I had two+ Kalis size-wise!!!! Shock

Right LadyB, I admit that, on the whole, boys are easier to change than girls (fewer cracks for the poo to disappear into, not needing to worry about the direction of wiping etc) but HOW THE FUCK do you stop the wee-willy-weeing everywhere fiasco??? :o

LadyBuzz · 06/02/2011 13:56

lol bubba you are so right girls are so different then boys although Kali has pee'd on me twice which I so was not expecting.

The trick is to watch for movement - any little twitch is usually a signal that it is about to start Grin
You can get something called a peepee teepee if you really want "here cgi.ebay.co.uk/Easy-Nappy-Change-New-Baby-Boy-Peepee-Teepee-Text_W0QQitemZ170497352928QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=207770414692&rvr_id=207770414692&cguid=3cf066ee1290a0aad4a12221ffe3994c" Grin

I take it you know to make sure the willy is pointing down into the nappy to stop them weeing out of the top of the nappy!
