Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

nickstermum · 03/02/2011 10:36

ah bless spilt i hope then you can turn around the consultation meeting.

You conceived so quickly after losing Bobbie that you havent had the time to grieve properly at all.. plus with not feeling great with the pg symptoms etc...you poor sausage!

See what happens at your next meeting.... and then if you are still working there and dont get the redundancy then at least you will have mat leave to look forward to, and you wont have to go back after that..and once bab is here and you arent pg anymore... things may look and feel different for you xxx

spilttheteaagain · 03/02/2011 14:51

Thank you both. I have just sent a long and carefully worded message to the chap in charge (as I am at home today and he is out of the office tomorrow so can't talk in person) explaining my situation and saying that if there is still any possibility of being considered for redundancy then I would like to discuss it. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I'm sitting down with a cup of tea and a creme egg now for a bit and then will go and have a bath and see if it helps my piles. The indignity!

On the bright side I have had a lovely day of not feeling sick due to a nice lie in. Sleep helps so much Smile

How is everyone else?

LadyGoneGaga · 03/02/2011 15:27

I'm fine, thansk Spilt. Glad to have seen the back of the nausea. Still tired but can stay up til gone 9 pm on the odd night which is an improvement.

Still feeling in the limbo zone a bit. Starting to feel the odd flutter which I think is the baby but still really hard to tell what is baby and what is wind. Was reassuring to heart heartbeat the other day. Just trying to get through to 20 week scan now - seem to remmeber last time that the second half went much faster than the first so hoping that is true.

5 months til I go on maternity leave!

We're fretting a bit as still have two houses - ideally need to sell both and buy one bigger one but at very least need to sell one so don't have two mortgages with the baby! DP's is on market first and been really slow. But got an offer today. Was a cheeky low one so rejected but hopefully they will offer more. Fingers crossed!

spilttheteaagain · 03/02/2011 15:33

Hooray for no more nausea for you! Do you have a date for your 20 week scan yet?

Good luck with the house sale, are you currently all living in your house then or will you have to move all your stuff?

nickstermum · 03/02/2011 15:53

Lady hooray for the feeling better all round, and hope you get an increased offer. Dsis sold hers yesterday after 12 months on the market, asking price... although sig reduced! What about renting it out short term?

Talking about indignity spilt have just been to docs to get fanjo swabbed! Since i have mc i have had 3 bacterial vag infections, and i think i have another. GAH! bubble bath she thinks is causing it! Thats the only thing am still doing....have boil washed nicks knicks :) thrown out all old pants and bought new, not worn jeans or anything tight ish fitting...now i have to get shot of bubbles :( saying that for the first 12 weeks all i wanted was a warm soak, now i cant be arsed :)

Piles... already? How has that happened? have you got some cream? Ah poor you xx

Now talking about fluttering.... am certain i have felt movement and a coupel of tiny little pains from inside...certain of it. Yes you get the flutters follwed by a gurgle, but i have def had some that arent pumpy - oh i hope so :)

LadyGoneGaga · 03/02/2011 16:59

All living in my house, Spilt - but will have to try and accommodate more of DP's stuff! Is ok, is a 2 bedroom terrace so fine for the three of us. We will manage at a push with the baby for a while but ultimately want a couple of extra bedrooms.

We may have to rent it later, Nix but would prefer to tough it out for time being.

She came back with higehr offer - only marginally less cheeky though so rejecting again. She is still 15k below asking price and 5k below what I think we would accept.

Sympathy for the piles and bacterial infection. I escaped piles last time (but got a nasty anal fissure post-natally that was like labour evry time I had a poo!). I'm just really itchy all over my body!

Iwish · 03/02/2011 18:01

Oh split sorry to hear you are having such a crap time at work. It's awful isn't it. I hope the man in charge sorts you our, the last thing you need is more unhappiness at work. X

nix and lady glad to hear youve been feeling flutters, how exciting!!

Well I'm sulking today and in a pretty rotten mood. I'm still getting cramps and aching at the bottom of my back. It is a little uncomfortable and only really happens once a day or maybe twice but it's for like 30 mins unless I get up and walk round a bit. I can't wait to see the midwife next week just so she can put my mind at rest!

nickstermum · 03/02/2011 19:50

Iwish i have had a lot of backache too.. dont forget when you are pg your ligaments soften! I have been terrified this is the start of an mc.... as its kept me awake at night... then mum reminded me i had had back problems for 20 years.....Confused but its easy to think of MC as your first port of worry!!

Try not to worry - chilled out mummy = happy bean xx

Iwish · 03/02/2011 20:01

thanks nix honey. Before ttc I never thought pregnancy would be so scary! I feel all happy thinking about cribs and cuddles but then when u get the cramps and aches my mind just turns to bad things. I don't even know why, its my first so no reason to think the worst.

'I will be a chilled out mummy'
'I will be a chilled out mummy'
'I will be a chilled out mummy'

Sorry for the rant. How are you today? X

GetDownYouWillFall · 03/02/2011 21:39

Just catching up on the thread. Have been soooooo tired just not really been on the computer much in the evenings lately. And seem to have been manic busy during the days.

Big congrats to digi Grin so pleased for you, glad you've got symptoms and hoping this one is a keeper. I know it's a scary time. Try and relax if you can.

spilt so sorry to hear that you're not being offered redundancy after all Sad My work sounds similar to yours - lots of restructuring and redundancies on the cards. I knew that if I took redundancy I would get more money than if I just waited for maternity leave because, like you, I'd have had to pay back a portion of maternity money if I didn't go back. I knew that with two small kiddies it would not be financially sensible to go back to work, so redundancy was the best way to go. Found out I have been granted it and can go at end of March. Which is a relief, but am so sorry that yours hasn't worked out. However, as you say, maybe you will still be able to request it? Sounds like they really want to save money so may be happy to accept you?

Also sorry about the piles. I have got them too (think childbirth gave me those Hmm) but thankfully they are not painful at the mo. My pelvic floor is crap though and seems to be worse again with the pg, so am having to wear pads Blush Oh dear this does not bode well for 30+ weeks pregnant! (hoping of course I get that far!!)

Iwish don't worry about the cramps, it's normal early on. I know it's so hard not to worry about every tiny thing though I am the same Blush

Very excited by Lady and Nix's little flutters!! Grin Blimey I remember when you both got your BFPs!!! And now here they are wiggling around inside you! Brand new tiny people with their own little minds deciding when to move and when not to... Amazing!

Finally went to the GP today, so now am in "the system". Apparently the midwife will call me soon to make an appt. They always go by last menstrual period date apparently even though I know I didn't ov till CD26 so they will prob think I am further on than I actually am Hmm Ah well, I'm not turning down an early appt if it gets offered!

Hope you are all doing well. Think I need to go to bed now...

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 03/02/2011 22:15

Hello GetDown I was wondering how you were doing. Tired is good, but hard. Hope you sleep well. Massive congratulations on your redundancy! I am very Envy especially as you can go so soon. If I had got it my employment would end at the end of June, which seems like light years away!

Poor you with the pad requirements already. You would think by now someone would have come up with a better way of making babies that didn't involve quite so much discomfort and humiliation.

nicks that swab sounds delightful. Hope they can sort out your infections.

And how exciting about the movements! I have a lively stomach but I am fairly sure it is all just wind for now.

nickstermum · 04/02/2011 13:07

What are we like on this thread? Piles, infections and tenna lady! Have to say GD you are not alone, if i sneeze i dribble! Am sat as we speak doing pelvic floors!!

Not had any flutters for a couple of days but not had wind either... maybe it was my overhopeful imagination Hmm

Iwish · 04/02/2011 18:04

Thanks Getdown Its so nice that im able to speak to you ladies and you know what im going through. I have been a tad more relaxed about it today but also i havnt had as many cramps, a little back ache but thats it.
How many weeks are you now?

Split I hope you are feeling a little better today?

Nix Love how we will so openly talk about allsorts on here, cant imagine talking to your friends at the local bar about it lol Grin

LadyG and Digi Hope you lovely ladies are ok too.

3 days till blood tests, 5 days till midwife appt. not that im counting down....

GetDownYouWillFall · 04/02/2011 18:49

Yes Iwish it's good we can share our worries with each other on here isn't it? Especially in these early days when you don't really want to tell friends. I met up with a couple of my NCT friends this afternoon and they were talking about babies and their birth experience second time round (they both have their second babies now) and it was so hard not to say I was pg!! I will be 8 weeks this weekend! Eeek!! Are your blood tests for the thyroid issue? I haven't seen a midwife yet. Only went to the GP yesterday.

I had a really sicky day yesterday, but hardly anything today. It's so weird the way it comes and goes. Surely if HCG is increasing it should get progressively worse Confused Ah well.

nix I know it is bad about the pelvic floor Blush again - not something I really discuss with friends in RL. I actually feel quite angry about it - I know it was that useless midwife making me push on a full bladder. I feel quite cross that I now have to live with it. I know I can do PF exercies but I don't think it will ever be quite back to where it was before.

spilt any more news for you re the redundancy? Hope you can get somewhere with your work and that they will let you go.

OP posts:
Iwish · 05/02/2011 12:52

getdown I bet it was so hard for you not to tell them! 8 weeks flippin eck that has gone quick. Only feels like yesterday you found out!
Yeh Mondays bloods are for my thyroid, keeping everything crossed that all is ok.
Ooh sicky is good! Hope you ate feeling ok today. Xx

I told my best friend yesterday who is really pleased. So only our parents on best friend knows. Roll on 12 week scan!
And just lovely this morning I have woken up with trapped wind so I'm all bloated and a bit sore. Nice :)

Waves to everyone else xx

GetDownYouWillFall · 05/02/2011 15:30

Yeah I know 8 weeks I can hardly believe it. Still seems to be going slowly in some ways though. I just can't wait for the scan and hopefully some reassurance that all is well.

Good you've told your best friend. I think it's fine to tell a few people you are closest to.

OP posts:
Iwish · 05/02/2011 18:30

Your scan will be here before you know it. It isn't that far away now :)

Yeh I wanted some very close people to know. It's keeping DPs mouth shut that seems to be the most difficult part!

LadyGoneGaga · 06/02/2011 19:10

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend?

Took MiniG to Warwick Castle today - he had a lovely time dressed up as a Knight. Had to walk miles up hundreds of steps though and realised just how weakened pregnancy makes you feel - even fairly early on. My legs were shaking!

Finally managed to pick up the heartbeat on the doppler yesterday Grin. So that's my new hobby!

Amazing, 8 weeks already Getdown!

Iwish do you know whether you have anti-thyroid antibodies or not? I do and it makes them much more concerned and having extra scans than "just" having an underactive thyroid. Definitely worth bringing up when you book in with the midwife.

Waves to Nix and Spilt x

nickstermum · 06/02/2011 19:14

YEY for the hb!! how MANY WEEKS ? I am 14 so you must be 16? good stuff :) how you managed all those steps i dont know.. i have had a weekend of chores and feet up and i am shagged! ironing and cooking has shagged me out! DS getting up dead early too so thats not helped matters although DH did let me lie in yest Grin

early night for me

WAves to everyone xx

Iwish · 06/02/2011 20:36

Hi ladyg. I'm not sure tbh. I didn't really pay much attention until I heard it was bad for baby (I know that's really bad) I just took my medication and got on with it. Hopefully they will have the results for when I go to the antenatal and I can ask the midwife. I will be stressing out to her about it anyway I think.
I'm so happy you found the HB on the Doppler, I bet you were over the moon Grin. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the castle, sounds like fun

Hey nix. Hope you aren't too tired but a nice early night should help :)

Hope you are ok today too getdown

Xx

Pippaandpolly · 06/02/2011 21:43

Just marking my spot as I have fallen off the 'I'm on' page - sorry to have been away recently. Haven't caught up with all the posts but will do so over the next couple of days - hope everyone's well!

GetDownYouWillFall · 06/02/2011 22:23

WElcome back pippa hope you are doing ok.

~Yay for the heart beat LadyGG that must be wonderful to hear and so reassuring! Are you able to work out how many beats per minute it is? I don't envy you climbing all those stairs! I seem to be puffed just walking the dog at the moment!

Sorry to hear you are feeling so tired nix hope you can get an early night tonight. We just bought a new mattress today - so excited it;s a really posh luxurious one (our current one is crap and over 10 years old) ...unfortunately have to wait a month for it, but looking forward to the comfort! Esp as preg progresses!

Hi there iwish hope you don't stress out too much re the medication. Don't worry about it. I have some medication too that I was taking, but seem to have been able to come off them now (anti depressants), but may have to take them again at some point.

Hope spilt is doing ok, you ok love?

I am ok. Feeling very intermittently sick, but trying not to stress. I certainly feel tired though! x

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 07/02/2011 07:58

I don't want to say I'm ok because I've got my scan today and I'm scared I won't be. Hoping though. The anxiety is horrible.

I've been distracted all weekend by fixing my bum! Prune juice, pile cream, baths, icepacks etc. I will try anything Grin

So chuffed you can get the HB now LadyG, that must be lovely.

Hope everyone's ok. Will report back later today xx

LadyGoneGaga · 07/02/2011 08:09

Good luck for the scan, Spilt. Have everything crossed for you.

Not sure how many BPM Getdown - I guess I could just try and count?

Yep, 16 weeks yesterday, Nix! Still waiting for my 20 week scan date. Bizarre because i have my 28 weeks scan date already.

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 09:34

I did post earlier and MN ate it!

Good luck for the scan spilt, be fine am sure... remember 98% :)

Lady... well done for getting to 16 weeks seems to have flown!! You seem to be the lady in the know... so i hope you dont mind me posing a question to you...?

Does anything specific seem to happen at at 14 weeks gestation? I have had really bad (sorry TMI) Blush Blush runs for the last 2 days (dont know if have eaten something that my body has just said "get that out your system now" or whether its hormone/baby related. I find it worrying as i had accute runs before/during and after MC'ing so add that together with dreaming about MMC and not feeling flutters (which last week could very much have been wind!!) I feel i need some reassurance :)
