Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

Still all ok! Massive sigh of relief. Baby is now 57.5mm, with heartbeat and dated at 12+2 which is only 1 day ahead of my charting dates so I am happy with that.

I've got my next scan in 4 weeks (so at 16 weeks) on 7th March.

Sorry about the runs Nix, I'm not sure of the details but hope you can find some reassurance.

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 12:19

Fantastic news Spilt Grin Whoop for the tea-bean xxx

Did they see the cause of the bleed?
Doesnt matter really does it... baby's fine Grin

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 12:20

Reassurance spilt i was sick this morning! Grin always always with brushing teeth :)

GetDownYouWillFall · 07/02/2011 12:28

Yay! Really pleased for you spilt. Wonderful to hear that all is ok. Smile

So sad for Amanda Holden today Sad

Fab news, Spilt. hopefully you can relax a bit more now. It's really, really unlikely that anything could happen now since you must have immunity to Toxo now.

Nix not sure but I had the runs the other day. Only one episode but a really crampy tum then went to the loo and was truly vile. I put it down to too much prune juice! And don't forget you are more vulnerable to icking up every little bug going as your immune systen is compromised. Am sure baby is fine x

I know, it's so awful about AH. She had a miscarriage last year as well which is why she kept this one secret until 6 months. So to have a stillbirth at this point Sad. Words cannot express.

spilttheteaagain · 07/02/2011 16:57

Thank you all Smile I am happy.

The slighty Confused part of today was that the doc reckoned they will need to have a close look later on at baby's brain and eyes as it's just possible that I had the tail end of my acute toxo infection early in this pregnancy. Apparently it can then sometimes cause small calcified deposits in the brain and vision problems. I am Not Going To Google as I do not wish to go insane. For now, I am focusing on having a live baby that is the size it should be and that is a vast improvement on last time.

I didn't ask about the bleed Nix and it was very small so hopefully nothing of concern. If we'd actually had any sex I would have put it down to that. I like my placenta implantation bleed theory too though.
And hurrah for your reassurance vom!

Hope you are all ok. I feel like I can breathe and post again now Smile

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 18:04

Good stuff spilt! What the doc probably didnt say, was the chance that s/he has vision problems is quite small..... No, dont google, very wise!

You have a wriggling healthy bean that will become a wriggling healthy baby :) xx

Pippaandpolly · 07/02/2011 19:46

Yey for Spilt! You're right not to Google...it is noone's friend where there are worries about anything - too many horror stories to outweigh the gazillions of good stories that don't make it online.

Nix - you poor thing. I have the opposite problem at the mo! Our poor bodies...

Getdown how many weeks are you? I'm 8 this week and I'm feeling really nauseous too. Not actually being sick, just feeling like it might happen at any time. Yuck.

Today my deputy head asked me outright, in front of other colleagues, whether I'm pregnant. Angry I lied and said no. Am so angry.

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 19:49

What a tosser Pips making you lie like that..... as if you want to say no!!!! Arse!

Obviously after your job Grin

Whens his/her next review?!

spilttheteaagain · 07/02/2011 20:14

The cheeky sod Pippa! How very rude as well.

Poor you with the nausea, it is horrible isn't it. Try and keep your blood sugar up as that should help - lots of little snacks or drinks of juice etc.

Pippaandpolly · 07/02/2011 22:25

It was awful - it must have been blindingly obvious to everyone that I was lying. Now I'm getting knowing glances in the corridor. Her daughter is a pupil at the school - if the kids find out before I tell them I will be so upset! (Don't think she's after my job though - I'm a lowly Housemistress and she's Deputy Head! Though y'know, when I go on maternity leave, she could land herself some free accommodation...!)

Have found that oranges help with the nausea - though tonight I didn't help myself by eating half a big bag of Haribo. Am a little bit disgusted with myself, and a little bit proud!!

GetDownYouWillFall · 08/02/2011 18:37

Sorry to hear about your highly insensitive and rude boss pippa. The pg before this a friend asked me outright "are you pregnant?" and it was highly embarrassing - I didn't really want to tell anyone let alone her! But I just wasn't quick enough on my feet to lie so said yes. It was horrible having to "untell" her later Sad Not as bad as if it had been a work setting though Angry

I am feeling a bit anxious - not really got any nausea at all - I thought by 8 weeks it should be at a peak? Am getting really scared that it's all going to go wrong. I haven't had any bleeding - that's a good sign isn't it? Would you get any clues if it was a MMC? I've heard some people can have a MMC and carry on having the full symptoms. I know I should be grateful to not be feeling / being sick but just am so worried.

Hope you are all doing well x

nickstermum · 08/02/2011 18:59

GD why dont you arrange a scan ?
some Peeps on the freak out fred have no symptoms at all, others are bleeding buckets.... or spotting. I dont know about MMC..sorry. Its frightening, but im sure everything is fine xxxx

GetDownYouWillFall · 08/02/2011 19:38

Thanks nix yes I was tempted to get an early scan, but don't know... DH thinks I am being over worried. It's a £100 that won't actually change anything either way, although it would be wonderful to have some reassurance.

I might investigate local places and see...

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 08/02/2011 19:43

Mine only cost me £60 if that helps, Getdown. Worth it as the worry is just horrible I think.

Iwish · 09/02/2011 13:59

Hi Ladies

Hope you are all ok today? Sorry ive not been for a while, have been having the odd quick stalk just not posted.

Went for my first appt with my midwife this morning and she has given me a date of 7th October so im 5+5 today Grin. Just need to wait for my scan date now - Please go fast weeks!
Had my thyroid test too and aparently its normal with a TSH of 2.26. so have been told is normal and the midwife will keep a close eye on it. think it should be between 0.24 and 2.99 in the first trimester

Pippaandpolly · 09/02/2011 16:41

Hi everyone, I had my booking in appointment today too :) The midwife was really nice and there was a student midwife there too. All good, got to phone up the hospital next week to arrange my dating scan. I thought you just had it at 12 weeks as a matter of course but apparently not, so I'm really hoping to have it a bit early if possible. If I have to wait much longer it'll make things hard at work - as it's a school they really need to advertise this term if they're going to get anyone good.

I'm excited! Grin

Getdown what did you decide about a scan?

GetDownYouWillFall · 09/02/2011 16:52

Did you guys arrange your own midwife appointment or did you get contacted by them? I still haven't had an appointment and will be 9 weeks on sunday.

I've rung around a few places re. a scan. There is one that has offered me next tuesday but trying to work out what to do as my mum will be here that day looking after DD and so would have to tell her, and was not really wanting to tell her just yet.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 09/02/2011 16:55

Hi Getdown why don't you just say you have to pop to the Doctors for a smear test or something?

I had to register with the Midwife by filling in a form at the doctors and then they contacted me with a booking appt.

Glad you're all booked, PP!

GetDownYouWillFall · 09/02/2011 16:57

But DH would be coming with me (there's no way he would come with me for a smear Grin!) so it would be really obvious.

I didn't get any kind of form from the GP, they didn't even give me the free prescriptions form... hmm. Don't know at what point I should be ringing the midwife myself.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 09/02/2011 17:11

Perhaps just tell her then. Would you tell her if you miscarried? I would tell my Mum so I didn't mind her knowing IYSWIM. Or meet DH there?

GetDownYouWillFall · 09/02/2011 19:28

Thanks lady yeah I could do. It's a bit complicated with my mum though. I am still dithering TBH.

OP posts:
Pippaandpolly · 09/02/2011 19:45

Getdown when I saw my GP he said to make an appointment with the midwife at reception. I'm not sure if these things are the same nationwide though?

digitalgirl · 09/02/2011 21:13

Hello ladies. Just popping in to see how you're all doing. Am only 4+4 today so mainly hanging out in the freak out room.
Symptoms beginning to appear. Mainly tingly boobs and some lower ab twinging and aching. Feeling a bit more reassured now. Trying desperately to keep looking forward and not comparing to previous pregnancies.
Have a scan on Monday to just check it's in the right place.

LadyGoneGaga · 10/02/2011 06:41

Fab news, Digi - sound like all is going well so far Grin. Have everything crossed for a sticky bean x
