Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

as long as i can.....! my mc was too public last year, and i kind of like the thought of just telling a select few people and keeping everyone else guessing! Told our parents immediately though, a close friend after 8 week scan and just a couple of other pg close friends after 12 weeker. :)

spilttheteaagain · 29/01/2011 10:06

Hello Iwish, lovely to have you and big congratulations!

I had a scary evening last night - had a small bleed and DH and I were convinced it was all going to be over. Thankfully after about 3 hours it stopped and seems to have stayed stopped (please!). Apparently 10-12 weeks is a common time for a bleed isn't it? Implantation of the placenta? I haven't just made that up have I?!

As far as telling people goes, we've told quite a lot, including work (I have to for risk assessments due to my job, and also general lateness due to puking). Our reasoning was that telling people about losing our baby was far from the worst bit last time - I needed to talk and I needed people to understand. I can't see it being any different if it happened again so we've told all the people that we would want/need to talk to about a loss (so most of them!)

I have been beset by rude dreams this morning Blush DH feels very left out!

Iwish · 29/01/2011 10:38

nix you will have people wondering!

thanks split I'm v happy to be here :)
And sorry you had such a scary night last nite. I'm glad the bleeding has now stopped.
Blush at your naughty dreams hehe x

Well had a crap sleep last night and this morning woke up with v v sore boobs, fab my first proper symptom!

LadyGoneGaga · 29/01/2011 11:45

Oh Spilt - that's a bit scary. Can you ring the midwife and see what they say? When is your next scan? I'm sure things are fine but worth a bit of professional reassurance I reckon

spilttheteaagain · 29/01/2011 11:48

Rude dreams are one of my favourite pregnancy symptoms, never get them normally! Beats puking hands down.

Hurrah for sore boobs Iwish Grin. Crap sleep also a symptom. Any particular reason for it? I find excessive thirst and peeing is what disturbs my nights the most.

spilttheteaagain · 29/01/2011 11:50

My next scan is on Monday 7th Lady so assuming nothing else happens I'll wait til then. There was no clots, no pain and it stopped quickly so whilst very scary at the time I feel alright about it now. I have a 24hour MW number if I change my mind though.

spilttheteaagain · 29/01/2011 11:51

** there WERE (apologies for shocking grammar)

GetDownYouWillFall · 29/01/2011 11:53

Hi there all!

I am so thrilled to welcome Iwish!! Smile Congrats lovely! Hope it's a smooth ride for you. It's an exciting but a nerve wracking time. Good to hear you've got sore boobs - a v. good sign!

Sorry you had some bleeding spilt I'm afraid I know nothing about whether the placenta taking over can cause this, but it's good it's stopped now. Hope everything's ok. May be worth getting it checked out anyway.

I am 7 weeks tomorrow! Been feeling pukey but it's very "on and off" ....so I'm either feeling sick as a dog, or not sick, but worried sick through lack of feeling sick IYKWIM! So, either way, it's a bit pants Grin I'm really hoping and praying this one is a keeper.

In terms of telling others, only DH and my mumsnet friends know. I made the mistake of telling a few close friends very early last time, and it was horrible telling them that I lost the baby. One of them gave me the news that she was actually pregnant herself because "she wanted to cheer me up" Hmm Gee, thanks. She was also only 5 weeks at the time and I remember thinking it seemed very presumptious for her to tell me and assume everything with HER pregnancy would be fine, when I had just lost mine at exactly the same stage. She is nearly 15 weeks now and rubs her bump everytime I see her. I know she doesn't mean to be insensitive, but if I wasn't pregnant again by now, I would seriously be avoiding her!!

Anyway sorry I've been quiet, I had a nerve wracking day yesterday - had to drive somewhere new quite a way away (I hate driving) and the fear of it seemed to take all my attention, but it went ok and was home safe and sound. I was sooooo tired by the evening!

Hope you are all ok. xxx

spilttheteaagain · 29/01/2011 17:35

Yep I do nix, panic! Grin

Happy to report that my pants have remained clean since about 10pm last night so very pleased.

Iwish · 29/01/2011 18:16

Thaks Split i was quite pleased with my sore boobs hehe. Not suree why my sleep was so bad, didnt need to pee, i was a little warm but i just felt wide awake.
Oooh scan on 7th, that has come round fast!

Hi there Getdown. nice to see you over here. I feel better with the sore boobs, nic to know there is exciting things going on inside me. Your sick feeling is good, even though you arent actually sick. I have a phobia of being sick (wierd i know) so that should be fun if i get the whole sickness thing. Shock at your friend telling you she was PG to cheer you up Confused. She meant well i suppose.

Well we were going to tel DPs mum next weekend but shes going on holiday!! so looks like we will be telling her on Tuesday instead. which means we will have to tell my parents Tuesday too. Little early i knwo but DP is really excited.

Iwish · 29/01/2011 18:22

oh and on a more Blush note. ive has loads of cm for the last 4 days! is that normal? i feel erm, rather wet a lot of the time, keep running to the loo Blush

spilttheteaagain · 29/01/2011 19:09

Not weird at all to be phobic of sick. I've always been very distressed by vomitting and fight for all I'm worth not to throw up, but pregnancy has actually partly cured me of that. I now have no issue with a pre-breakfast vom as all that is in there is water and it doesn't taste bad if that makes sense? Still go into total panic if I have to be sick at any other point of the day though.

The good news is, apparently only 50% of women get vomitting & nausea in pregnancy. 80% get nausea. So a lucky 20% are fine. You're relatively likely to follow your mum/sister in whether or not you get sick.

The CM sounds totally normally. I have been, erm, flowing since about 3dpo (and still going!). It's horrible in the early weeks though as I feel crampy and wet so spend half my life dashing to the loo to check I've not started bleeding.

Iwish · 29/01/2011 19:20

Oh good im glad its not just me being scared of being sick - i thought i was totally wierd lol.

How are you feeling now?

i hoped it was normal, have had 2 (sorry TMI)large blobs of cm like a yellow colour, bit like EWCM but not as stretchy...

Pippaandpolly · 29/01/2011 19:35

Quick wave hello and welcome at iwish! Spilt I hope you're ok and there's been no more bleeding? Hi everyone else - sorry this is a quick dash in and out :)

Pippaandpolly · 29/01/2011 19:36

Btw iwish I've had loads of cm too this week - didn't realise this was a symptom but quite pleased to read it is in what to expect :)

Iwish · 29/01/2011 19:41

Hi Pippa Thanks! Ive made myself comfortable here now :) Hope you are ok? x

Pippaandpolly · 30/01/2011 17:50

I'm fine thanks Iwish, though my 'it's all going to end badly' doom and gloom paranoia is stepping up another gear. This morning I had the tiniest smudge of pale brown in some cm (sorry for tmi) and immediately convinced myself it was the beginning of the end. Rational DH has fed me tea all day and I've calmed down somewhat.

I read the book that goes with the series 'One Born Every Minute' this afternoon and it's absolutely LOVELY, although there are some sad stories in there too which had me howling. I did find it quite funny that the two midwives writing it are unanimously decided that men are useless in the delivery room - I read bits out to DH and he assured me that he plans to faint within the first 5 minutes so he's out of the way...Grin

Iwish · 31/01/2011 08:28

pippa I'm glad your DH has calmed you down a bit. Hope your brown has stayed away x
I didn't know there was a book! I watch the series on tv and I like watching it. Even DP will watch it apart from the odd occasion he has to turn away lol. And Grin at your DH saying he's going to faint!

Well told mine and DPs parents yesterday, they were thrilled. DPs mum had a bit of a cry and my dad thinks he's too young to be a grandad - bless him he still thinks he's 21 haha!

nickstermum · 31/01/2011 16:07

pippa i had quite a lot of brown between 6 and 8 weeks. Brown is ok. Old blood. Depends how you are inspecting the tissue, natural light on white paper is best!

I have had discoloured CM since, but touch wood up to 12 weeks everything is fine.

13+1 today....wow

Pippaandpolly · 31/01/2011 19:15

Iwish-glad your family were delighted, can't wait to see my mil's face! She's been going on about grandchildren since the second dh told her he was going to propose!

Nickster, thanks for the reassurance :) 13+1 is amazing-do you have a bump? Am so looking forward to that Grin.

nickstermum · 31/01/2011 19:30

Urn.... Fat rather than bump :) x

Pippaandpolly · 31/01/2011 20:03

Oh well I have that anyway...!

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 18:35

spilt is everything ok hon...you have disappeared....hope so xxxx

LG have you found a heartbeat yet on your doppler?

GD how you doing toots?

spilttheteaagain · 01/02/2011 19:00

Hi nix, yes I'm fine thanks Smile

I have been reading but just very tired and couldn't quite be arsed with the whole stringing a sentence together thing!

Have you seen digi got a little faint positive today? Grin

I am expanding! I caught sight of myself in a mirror today and with a close fitting top on I look suspicious... that is, if I was looking at someone else who looked like me I would be suspecting a little baby.

How are you doing pippa? Hope the brown has gone. As nix says brown isn't that bad but it is frightening isn't it.
