Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

digi so glad you made it through yesterday, I found getting past the point at which I MC'd felt like such a relief. I know it's still nerve wracking but hope you've felt a bit encouraged today.

Great you got the 3+ weeks terrys

nix yay for wiggling baby nix! I can't wait till I feel movements, maybe I will then be a bit less anxious.... yeah right.

Got my booking in appointment tomorrow. Found it strangely therapeutic writing about my traumatic birth under the "previous births" section.

I have a big spot on my chin. Whilst it is a bit sore and obviously not that nice to have I am ridiculously pleased about it as I reckon it must mean pregnancy hormones are still running amock in my system!

I hope what you say about getting past the point of MC helping with anxiety is true for me too GetDown. Just got to get past that 20 week scan then if so which isn't too far away now (4-5 weeks).

Wishing you lots of luck and a good scan tomorrow Lady.

digi I hope things are still all ok for you today.

tory79 · 03/03/2011 19:21

Wow thanks for all the tips Spilt I feel like I'll mainly be going for the last one though!! It just never goes away. I am being sick every morning, and feeling sick basically for the entire day! Tube is highly unpleasant!

In happier news, I got my scan date through today - 12 April!!

xxx

digitalgirl · 03/03/2011 20:16

I have spots too spilt but on my scalp so noone can see them. Hurts like a bastard when I accidentally scratch one though.

All ok today. In fact felt a little more energetic which was handy as had a long day full of meetings. Have familiar feeling of indigestion so hoping that's a little symptom. But think I'll need to see how this next scan goes before I can attempt to relax and enjoy this pregnancy.

Sounds rough Tory I've never thrown up in any of my pregnancies. Which is good because I'm mildly emetephobic (sp?) and will do anything before letting my body bring stuff up in that direction.

And yay nix for movement! It's so amazing isn't it?

newyearsday · 03/03/2011 21:45

Hello everyone,

I feel rubbish for not posting more often but I'm getting such bad backache from mid afternoon that I can't use my laptop in the evening. Thankfully a bath and bed revives it, until the next day. I'm standing up in the kitchen catching up on your news (5 pages!). Lovely to read about all those milestones.

I'm 31wks this weekend. Apart from the backache, tiredness and expanding belly I'm feeling pretty good. Had a little scare last week when the baby's didn't move much in 24hrs so we went to the assessment unit at the hospital. Of course, as soon as the monitor was strapped on he started doing huge kicks - the nurses were very nice about it. And had a high 28wk glucose test so had to have more blood tests at the hospital this week, hopefully all will be well.

So I'm gearing up for maternity leave! I'm a freelancer so have told my clients I'm finishing in 6wks. Really looking forward to slowing down and have lots of plans like swimming, reading, snoozing, yoga dvd'ing and getting the baby stuff ready. Eeek!

Thinking of you all xx

LadyGoneGaga · 04/03/2011 06:50

How exciting, NewYearsDay - not much longer to go really. I can't wait for maternity leave - already counting down the days! I've been finding pregnancy yoga classes really helpful with back issues - is DVD helping?

When's your next scan, Digi? I never throw up when pregnant either but feel terribly nauseous which is bad enough. Fine now though Smile

Hurrah for scan date, Tory - sickness is reassuring but still yucky. Should ease in a few weeks though.

Good luck with booking appt, Getdown - finally. Will you get a scan date now?

Brilliant you got some definite movements, Nix - not so brilliant on the stretchmarks. Did you have them last time? Have got got any biooil - meant to be good for them? I use the Palmers Cocoa one and touch wood have not had any but didn't last time so think am quite lucky there.

Right off for scan soon - wish me luck! Will report back later.

spilttheteaagain · 04/03/2011 07:02

Very best of luck to you Lady, I'll be thinking of you today.

nickstermum · 04/03/2011 07:32

What? Who? Stretchmarks??? Nope not me {grin]

Spaghetti junction are the blue veins! Grin

Did get a few stretchies last time but only appeared at 36 weeks!

Good luck for the scan my lovely lady xxx

LadyGoneGaga · 04/03/2011 09:03

Aaah, thought that was a bit early! Good job, Nix.

Back from scan - benefits of having first appointment of the day = zero waiting around. All is good - all the organs present and correct. We didn't want to know gender so still none the wiser. Baby transverse at the moment but seeing as it completely changed position during the scan no need to get knickers in a twist!

Bit horrible walking into the room as was same scan room as when they told me had lost everything at the mc. But now have happier memories! Grin

Hope everyone else having a good day. Last day at work and off to Centre Parcs next week - yay! Grin

nickstermum · 04/03/2011 09:28

YEY on the scan news LG FAB news!
Good to hear all present and correct Grin Know that feeling of the scan room......same here last 2 times. Diff sonographer thankfully.

I know beannix has a bladder, stomach, brain and heart cos i have seen those already, just hope everything else is in the right place :)

No news from my quad downs results. Bean wouldnt play ball for the nuchal so we waited and the bloods were taken nearly 2 weeks ago... no news is good news. If high risk they supposedly contact you within 3 days.. so FX taking that its all ok. Very much hope so :)

Have a fab time away Lady [jealous emoticon] i have to wait til 10 days off at easter :( :)

Iwish · 04/03/2011 12:03

Oh ladyg glad scan went ok.

Big waves and cuddles to everyone else.

Actually managed to av appt today lol. They took 6 things of blood off me did bp and have upped my dose of thyroxine. Gota go back in 4 weeks n av bloods done again!! Booking appt is on 15th and they said they will book my scan then.

TerrysNo2 · 04/03/2011 14:30

LadyG so happy your scan went well!! And well done for making a baby with all the right bits Wink

Very jealous too - feels like it will be AGEEEESSS till mine! Just keeping my FX I will get there.

I feel like getting the 3+ on the CB Digi is a real achievement and at least the PG has gotten further than the last one. I just hope it sticks good and proper. Went to GP today and he wrote a referral to EPU for an early scan but I've no idea when I will get it. If I haven't heard anything by end of next week then I might just book a private one anyway.

GetDownYouWillFall · 04/03/2011 16:35

Had my booking appointment today! Woo - feel like I am actually pregnant now! Grin

They've actually done me a referral to a physio for my incontinence problem following birth of DD Shock - it's only taken them 3 years!!

Also have to be under consultant care as had severe PND last time. The midwife said I would be "top of the list for criteria for a planned c-section" if I wanted one - not sure about that. DH thinks we should go for it, but I'm not sure I like the thought of having my abdomen sliced open....

Lady that's fab about your scan! So exciting.

Terrys I found the early weeks went really slow, but they've sped up a lot since about week 7 / 8. You will get there.

Glad you had your appt Iwish must be reassuring being checked out. I know what you mean about the bloods - I feel like a pin cushion today!!

nix def good news if you haven't heard re the quad test, I think as you say, they contact you pretty quick if it's bad news. Great that baby nix is doing well.

Waves to spilt, digi newyears, pippa, tory, Mrsp and everyone else!

OP posts:
Iwish · 04/03/2011 18:30

terrys glad they are booking you in for an early scan, hopefully it will put your mind at rest sooner.

getdown I can't believe how much blood they take. They were just doing it for my thyroid but decided they may as well take all the booking in bloods at the same time. Fab lol.
3 years for them to refer you!! That's shocking.
Glad you are happy the booking is done now too.

Going out tomorrow night with work to get drunk. Looks like I'm going to have to play the antibiotics card! One of my friends knows so hopefully shouldn't get questioned too much.

GetDownYouWillFall · 04/03/2011 19:38

Yeah I know Iwish! The woman taking my blood was rabbiting on about the weather, her kids, when she was ever going to get grand-children etc, and I was thinking "yeah, what about me! Don't take too much!!" She filled at least 3 of those little tube things. You must have had more than that because of the thyroid test too.

Hope you manage to pull off the antibiotics trick tomorrow night. I went out for drinks last night but just had J2Os all night. My two friends had red wine, but one of them knows about my MC, so she may well suspect I am pg again by now.

Iwish · 04/03/2011 20:11

Yeh 5 or 6 of the flippin things getdown. I'm a total wuss so made her talk to me so I didn't scream or freak out haha.

I hope it does work. Don't want them to guess and ruin my little surprise. :). Luckily they don't know too much about me as I've only been in that Dept about 6 months so I guess it's not something they would ask.

Not sure if I asked you before but are you going to find out the sex?

tory79 · 04/03/2011 20:25

Ok so I have just put on jogging bottoms instead of jeans. I'm 7 weeks!! Crap!!

Hello everyone xxx

Iwish · 04/03/2011 20:27

Lol Tory. Leggings and a dress all the way :). no chance I would have fit in my jeans either! My MIL said to me yesterday 'you've put done weight on' charming!! I'm only 9 weeks.

MrsP81 · 04/03/2011 21:02

Yay, glad your scan went well LadyG!

I finally plucked up the courage to ring the doctors today (was worried I would jinx everything if I did but knew I had to at some point) and have my booking in appointment on Tuesday when I'll be 7 weeks. Smile That will make it feel a bit more real.

I'm going out with work colleagues next Friday and I've decided just to drive because "I can't get home otherwise". Not entirely true but they dont need to know that. Wink

Had a random craving for a McDonalds cheeseburger on the way home from work tonight which I had to go and satisfy. Mmmmmmmm. Not usually a fan of McDs so now my DH believes that I'm not making it all up!

Hope everyone is good. X

Iwish · 04/03/2011 21:22

Omg I don't know if any of you had a programme on itv1 this week called Leahs dream. I'm a mess. Why am I watching it??!! It's so sad.

nickstermum · 05/03/2011 08:09

Morning ladies.. eek to hideous dreams :(

YEY to the fatness at about 7-9 weeks... perfectly normal ladees!! Leggings/joggers are the best part of my wardrobe atm, struggling with mat jeans as they cut across where the baby likes to nestle i think (low down)

FAb to random cravings also :) CRap and carbs seems to be the order of the first trimester :)

Im good... apart from monstrous dreams... looking forward to the weekend with DS Grin Catch up soonx x

LadyGoneGaga · 05/03/2011 09:20

Nix I have some over the bump jeans that my friend donated to me and they are soooo comfy. Avoided them like the plague last time I was pregnant for some reason and battled on with the stupid falling down under bump ones but loving these.

My non-pregnancy jeans were put away pretty early on Tory - you can get early term jeans with a stretchy top which are useful even early on. Or you can do the hairband trick also. But my thighs swiftly got too fat also!

I got my labour notes through from last time (had to send off for them and pay a charge) - really want to understand what happened and why. Has been so cathartic and good to understand. Amazing how your memory gets distorted over time. Also amazing how midwifes only record labour starting from when they examine you. Am down as having an 11 hour total labour, 6 hour second stage (he got stuck). Funny as I remember a 32 hour labour! Just coped with it very nicely on my own and didn't call out a midwife til I was 6cm.

spilttheteaagain · 06/03/2011 09:55

Morning all,

Fabulous news on your scan Lady, enjoy your holiday Smile

Lovely to hear from you Newyears. Have you heard back about your blood tests yet? Wow, 6 weeks until your mat leave, I hope it flies by!

Did you get rumbled at the night out iwish?

I am so tired all the time, this baby growing malarky really takes it out of me! I was going round work with a colleague on Friday afternoon carrying out an audit and got to one place and sat down on a chair "for a couple of mins". I was woken up by her giggling and turning the light out on me Blush I also become an incoherent fool by the end of the day, can't get any of my words out right.

Scan day tomorrow Confused. I'm very nervous.

Iwish · 06/03/2011 12:26

Hey split. Ha can't believe you fell asleep, you must have been knackered you poor thing.
Eek what time is your scan tomorrow? I will be on here waiting for news x

Nope didn't get rumbled, woohoo. Only told a couple of people and I guess the others presumed my lemonade was vodka and lemonade. Grin. Only 3 more weeks to hide it now! Which I think means I'll only have to lie to 2 more of our friends who we are getting together with in 2 weeks.

Waves to everyone else hope we are all ok xx

LadyGoneGaga · 06/03/2011 13:53

Good luck for tomorrow, Spilt - will be thinking of you.
