Come on, come and join me. I have waitrose home made cookies and some pink fizzy stuff.

Scorps I am nosyt intrigued as to where MIL lives exactly. Can you message me the location? Tis a part of the world I am vey familiar with. And not very far from.

Drom sorry about the half finished bathroom. That sucks.

GinHaglet are you out of bed yet? If not, can I climb in too? I am bored and fed up of waiting for my baybee to arrive in fluffy towel. Spent yesterday on mat ward being monitored and tested - stupid blood pressure shot up and midwife sent me straight to hossie. Fortunately all test results negative for pre-eclampsia, it is just the damned BP threatening to put spanner in works. I want to get in my birthing pool, it is sooo lovely.

Also, had stretch and sweep which was delightful as you can imagine but unfortunately my cerix, although squishy and forward facing (who knew there was a right direction?) was most definitely closed for business. Had a fair bit of 'show' since, but I think this is more due to having someone's hand shoved up there than actual sign of baby coming out.

Got to get BP monitored again tomorrow.

So.... Whassuuuuuuuup poops?

muse btw I pm'd you earlier. Concerned that I have pissed you off when in fact I provide much evidence that bugaboos DO NOT make you a 'yummy', 'smug' or even particulary capable mother.

I just don't really give a shit about pushchairs is all. But that's easy enough for me innit, got one already. Pretty sure if took me blardy ages to work out what was 'best' last time. And am jolly glad not to have to think about it again (aha! Maybe I am smug after all then :))

Now, poopynews if you please????

ginhag · 30/12/2010 14:49

X-post!

Yep, am up, done loads, broke myself, bollocks.

Sorry bout bp, and that things haven't kicked off yet. Remember the frustration well (tho not the extra 'am I or aren't I getting a hb?' part)

If I can move again this afternoon I shall do a special voodoo magic baybee dance to get things going for you. It won't be long luvver

PerfectDromedary · 30/12/2010 14:49

Polleeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Poor precious. Hope the baby gets itself into gear soon.

Great news about the lack of pre-eclampsia, but stooooooopid blood pressure. Are you still snowed in, or are the wilds of the West Country less, well, wildy?

ginhag · 30/12/2010 14:51

Isn't the ackshul point of shoving hand up foof to get things moving tho? In which case the showishness prob still good sign?

ginhag · 30/12/2010 14:52

Tis the Land of Drizzle now cam. so pretty much normal for westcuntreeeeeeee.

PollyPoo · 30/12/2010 14:59

Gin sounds like you'd better go back to bed!

Drom we are now a snow free zone, which means the community midwives are now supporting home births again. Yay! It was strange yesterday - I almost felt like I'd wasted their time as the hossie - bloods were fine, no protein in urine (for the first time in a month), Shrimp was moving fine especially during all the BH I was getting. My BP actually went up while I was in the hossie, but even then, the midwife said it wasn't high enough to concern them or to be treated and she seemed to think there was no reason why I couldn't have a home birth, as long as it doesn't keep on going up. Whereas my community midwife seems far more cautious - her criteria for a safe home birth seems different to the hossie which I found confusing. I still don't know if there is an upper limit for BP, which once I pass, means I will be in hossie. Pfft. I think it will just depend what happens on the day I go into labour. I have been cleaning and tidying like a thing possessed this morning so I'm hoping it is not too far off. Am boring myself now

Soz ginsters, x-post. Yeah I guess, but the 'show' has stopped now. I think it was just the remains of yesterdays rooting around. Might ask her to do another S&S tomorrow, really want to get things moving naturally rather than be induced.

Aksly, after the sweep yesterday, MW was inclined to agree with me that dating scan was wrong (23 Dec) and my date of 28 Dec was more accurate. Unfortunately that means that the hossie will want to induce me based on the scan date, which means next Weds, 5th Jan. Whereas if they would use my dates I could go up to 10 Jan without being induced. Ho hum. At present I just feel like I am going to be like this forever!

ginhag · 30/12/2010 15:08

Community midwife prob just being extra careful to be sure she has the hospital's backing - which it sounds like she does, yay! Sounds like it was pretty much good news yesterday...and bp going up when actually in hosp is v v common (is cos you wanna get out :))

Is gonna be fine my lovely

Can't get back in bed til I have got the clean sheets on. So not yet. Planning lovely chilled night tonight as mr gin has v exciting night out with mates. For me, natal hippo cd, pizza, bath, telly in bed, chocolate mousse Grin

And hopefully some actual SLEEP tonight!

ginhag · 30/12/2010 15:11

Go and drive over some cattlegrids while eating curry and twiddling your nipples Grin

PollyPoo · 30/12/2010 15:21

That sounds like a blissful evening Gin.

Soz for sounding really negative - I am really pleased about hossie results as they seem to rule out all the bad stuff which hopefully means HB is more likely. Fink I am just tired and bit grumpy.

Muser · 30/12/2010 15:24

I'm not pissed off with anyone! The most exciting thing about my pram is it is YELLOW, don't care about anything else.

Pooster I hope the new messiah makes his debut before the 5th and you get to use your birthing pool. Can you refuse induction in favour of daily monitoring instead?

I have been to the shops and bought food that is not chocolate based. Some of it is even actual fruit. I would like to steal gin's evening though, it sounds perfect. I do need to get the hippo cd out again, plus I now have Ina May to read on my kindle.

PollyPoo · 30/12/2010 15:26

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about tweaking nips! We were planning the secs last night but once we got back from the hospital and stuffed our faces with takeaway again I just curled up on sofa and slept for 3 hours. Maybe tonight...

Scorpette · 30/12/2010 15:27

Poor Pol, worra palaver. I think you are right in that where you'll lay and how depends on how you are on the day. But I bloody hope you get your lovely home water birth. Have DMed you on here the location of the ILs :)

Orchid12 · 30/12/2010 15:38

Pol good news on the home birth front again! Let's hope mini pol gets a wriggle on soon.

I hadn't realised there would be so much debate about a pram! Definately no smugness here, my parents bought ours with my dad's redundancy money and I have been eternally grateful ever since. I liked the fact that I didn't need a moses basket as O could sleep in it overnight (which meant all the walks I took him on late at night to get him to sleep were not wasted as he could stay in the pram and be taken upstairs in the carrycot), and the fact that I am short arse means I can have the handle as long short as I need, as can any one else who uses it. The other benefit is that unlike my supposedly more convenient umbrella pram, it actually fits in my car! The umbrella fold does not fit in either car boot - it has to go on the passenger seat which is a complete pain. So, I hope no-one thought I was serious about any sort of pram club - it was a lighthearted, off the cuff comment. I would hope most of you know me well enough to know I'm not a smug, elitist type by any stretch of the imagination.

Medee · 30/12/2010 15:47

Happy New Thread!

Polleeee, hope you lay soon, at your own doing and not induction.

We see Quinnys (Quinnies?) everywhere, but hasn't put us off.

Scorpette · 30/12/2010 16:13

Don't be daft, we were ALL joking about the prams :)

ginhag · 30/12/2010 16:22

Well, tackled fucking giant duvet but had to get mr gin to put sheet on bed

Mmmmmmmmm cleeeaaaan sheets. am I a tragic old loser for being SO happy about clean sheets???

Also, no one answered my question about my wishful thinking conviction that thing 2 is gonna come early... So I am the only one harbouring such loopy ideas?

ginhag · 30/12/2010 16:23
Grin
Medee · 30/12/2010 16:24

not at all, Gin - we put fresh bedding on last night, and I love it.

And you are not a nutter, but have no idea if you will be right or not. I think I will be bang on, just because I know exactly when I ovulated, which is clearly nonsense.

ginhag · 30/12/2010 16:24

My tongue feels weird now Grin

ginhag · 30/12/2010 16:25

Ah good meds, nonsense is reassuring! Like we have any say in anything really, eh??

ginhag · 30/12/2010 16:27

I MISS HEADBANGER!!!!

Just to make that clear :)

ginhag · 30/12/2010 16:32
