I was just about to post to say sorry for starting the July thread and then disappearing, then saw that it was all full up! So I thought I would start us a new one.

Hello to all the many many ladies that have joined the July club - it's lovely to see so many of us here. I've been trying to read back through all the old posts, but there are so many, that's partly why it's taken me so long to get back! Have also been having some personal troubles, but that's another story.

Anyway, I'm 12 weeks today and slightly looking forward to my scan on Christmas Eve, but also nervous in case it's not good news. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again and hearing how you and your bumps are going.

OP posts:

highheelsandequations we're not finding out the sex either. We're looking forward to finding out when we meet him/her, and also I'm hoping it will stop me being tempted by too many cute baby outfits while I'm pregnant!

I'm still in underwired bras, I'm dreading having to go out in public without underwire! I've bought a soft cup bra to sleep in though. I really struggled to find one in my size and ended up spending about £30 at Bravissimo, so I hope I don't go through too many sizes!

sues1974 · 02/03/2011 22:11

Hi
talking about bumps to bumps and accients, i went on holiday when i was 20 weeks with my first. Hubby was laid out on the bed and said something cheeky. For a split second i forgot i was pregnant and jumped on him with my full body weight. If you can imagine doing a free fall i used to jump on him and go 1000, 2000, 3000 4, so my full body weight (averaging 10 stone) was on him, usually enought to shut him up and get him back for whatever hes said. But stright away a flew off him and said OMG i cant believe i did that, i forgot i was pregnant, i then had pains on and off that evening, and wasnt feeling any movement at that stage (week 22 with my firs tbefore i felt regular movement)so had nothing to reassure me. Needless to say my son is fine apart from his fear of flying :)

Well only 5 more sleeps till my scan and now getting nervous, just praying everything is ok with the baby.

I had a growth scan at week 34 and they said my DS was 6lb 13 oz, so when i had him 5 weeks later i was expecting him to be around 7.5 lbs, he weighed in at 5lb 8oz and was so tiny his head looked like the size of an apple!
well got a pile of ironing to do yet and pack up for work, cant wait to have next week off.
night y'all
xx

buttonmoon78 · 03/03/2011 08:17

Am Grin today. Got my first 'proper' movement this morning. So far everything's been just gentle bubbles or flutters but this morning I had a proper nudge from inside. Just the once but that's enough to put me in a good mood for the rest of the day!

Going to my cousin's wedding tomorrow and off to buy thick navy tights today as I need to disguise my horrid varicose vein stockings!

Eglu · 03/03/2011 09:13

Hi all. WRT bras I'm still in underwired and probably will be until 8 months, as that is what I did last time. I make sure they are fitting properly and it had not effect on my milk last time. Soft cup bras are uncomfortable and make me look like I've got one big sausage boob. Not an attractive look.

inbetweener · 03/03/2011 10:33

Morning all !
20 weeks today yay !!! According to my daily Mothercare update baby is now the size of a canteloupe melon lol Grin
Well my uterous certainly feels massive but still not feeling much in the way of movement.
I have decided not to stress about it though. What will be, will be. I cant change anything, its in there so I just will have to wait till my scan on the 14th !!!! Aggh I so cant wait !
Its also my eldest DD's birthday on that day and she said the best birthday present was finding out if she is having a brother or sister lol.
She has bet me a pound she thinks its a boy whereas I reckon its another girl !! Wink

Anyone else just not concentrating at work at the moment ! I am not really working properly at all ! To make matters worse I have just counted I have 18 weeks to go till my intended maternity leave date will start Sad seems like ages !! Im gonna try to go to 38 weeks, I went to my due date with DD1 and 39 weeks with dd2 so fingers crossed lol !

As for bras ! I am currently wearing an F cup but it doesnt fit ! I nee dto adore some H cups Blush anyone have good recommendations ? I havent been overy impressed with Mothercare so far. Eglu I am currently working the one big sausage boob look so I know exactly what you mean !!!!!!!!

LadyGoneGaga · 03/03/2011 11:00

Bravissiomo, Inbetweener - they have omnline site if you don't have a shop near you. They do the best fittings by far and cater for the larger boobs!

Baby is happily moving about so non the worst for my fall I don't think. Scan tomorrow morning - eek!!!

Twit · 03/03/2011 12:11

Good luck with the scan!

I have 18 weeks left 'til my due date, which sounds like nothing, same as when I think I'm 22 weeks done - yet when I say 'it's due in July' it sounds soooo far away. Weird.

I second Bravissimo, I'm in H cups now and am starting to look at bigger ones (around my back).

My new clothes arrived, most of it was great although I'll send back some trousers (looke odd) and a really nice tunic that was too small (boobs too big Blush ).
Its cheered me up, I've been feeling a bit down again (back etc) and I'm finding the mornings difficult to cope with to be honest.
Ah well it's only for a while really and then it will be the summer holidays Shock.

Eglu · 03/03/2011 15:07

Inbetweener definitley Bravissimmo without a doubt. I'm wearing GG cups and you need good support.

Glad you got your new clothes Twit. Things like that always cheer you up.

My Moby wrap arrived in the post today. I had a go at putting it on and it was just as simple as the youtube videos made it look. Obviously it's going to be a while until I have a baby to try it out on, but it seems like it's going to be really supportive.

JimmyChoo17 · 03/03/2011 19:24

Fab123 loving the fly reference!! Made me chuckle. I have to admit I am switching between my "new hat" and my old bras as the bigger bra makes some of my outfits look awful...like Im as wide as I am tall?!?!! I am going to head to the shops again this weekend see if I can find a more suitable, supportive and less spreading a bra!!

buttonmoon78...Jimmychoo not pregnant...mmm if I encountered that bra in my drawer not pregnant...and under influence of alcohol...a fairly sure it would end up on head too! ha ha - mind you drinking on a school night...never could handle that :)

Badgerwife I havent lactated loads but a little surprised to find leak marks in my bra today! Starting to get paranoid is going to get worse and it'll show thru at some point...! Shock Am sure the guys at work will love that

JimmyChoo17 · 03/03/2011 19:33

Managed to miss an entire pages of replies for some reason...
buttonmoon78 brilliant news about the nudge!

eglu Sausage boob - that is the look!! If I didnt feel frumpy already - the suggested bras make me feel worse! I cant stand the look or feel of a soft bra...reminds me of being 11 in my first bra.

Good luck with the scanladygonegaga

inbetweener for the first time in 5 months I am back to full strength at work...have realised how far behind I have gone! Am hoping this good patch lasts for a long time!

Regarding movements ladies...I seem to feel mine less and less now...its making me paranoid after feeling so many earlier on...Am telling myself its my extra layer Ive acquired since my sickness has died down but have been addicted to my doppler this week :( Thankfully can hear baby ticking away and you can hear the movements on the doppler too but wish I could feel it like I could before.

NEarly 21 weeks now so am hoping they get more prominent soon to stop me being so para!

wolfcubEm83 · 03/03/2011 19:42

Just spent the last 2 days and a night in hospital after a bleed, everythings ok with baby but my cervix is being dodgy (i had a LLETZ proceedure 2 years ago) and bleeding for no real reason.
Got to see lots of little babies as i was in a post c section ward - as a first time mom it was a real eye opener, didnt realise just how much they cry!!! [shocked] And wow, they are soooo small Smile

Fraochsmum · 03/03/2011 22:16

Oh gosh wolfcub what a worry! I don't know what a LLETZ procedure is, but really hope it doesn't continue to affect you xxx

My scan went really well yesterday and every part was looking good...I can't say what a relief it was! I think it's a mix of waking up and things going around my head coupled with the fact that DD is so great and not thinking I could be so lucky again. My sonographer was excellent and talked continually, even asking questions about living where we do and other such small talk. She said "oh what a wonderful cerebellum" and "oh, look at the beautiful feet!" - proud mum already ha! She also gave us about 6 photos so was able to give one to the parents. Baby was eating his/her lunch at the time.
Wow the plane tho! If I describe it as being a minibus with wings, it seriously is not an exaggeration - was quite funny to see the pilot use a piece of paper balanced on the dashboard to block out the sun Hmm

I got Bravissimo bras when I went up 3 cup sizes in 1st pg, and stayed with underwire till after birth, it certainly had no effect on my milk production (starting to feel like a cow now...). Although as soon as I get in from work etc I take my bra off and sigh relief - even if I have non-wired on.

As others have mentioned, I had a scan at 35 weeks to check growth and position and was estimated I would have an 8lb-er. 6lb2oz at 40+1. Mind you, they weighed her twice because they thought she was more. I have know a few people to freak out thinking they are in for a huge baby due to that!

cara2244 · 03/03/2011 22:30

Scan tomorrow afternoon and I am nervous. Fraochsmum that's good news that your scan went well. I am the same as you tho, my little boy is so lovely and I such a good first pregnancy and labour that I feel I couldn't be that lucky again!!

I am sick of people asking me if I'm finding out the sex. I am more concerned with knowing everything's ok. Nobody asks if I'm worried or nervous. Poor mil got it in the neck today as she was hassling me yet again about finding out the sex of 'our' baby, not my baby you notice! It just reminded me of all the crap I got last time from the grandmas - you're doing this/that wrong etc.
Anyway. Hopefully I will be feeling a bit more positive this time tomorrow.

confuddledDOTcom · 03/03/2011 23:14

MissLolita, if your placenta is anterior all you'll do is poke the placenta, so you won't get much response from the baby like that lol unfortunately you'll probably not feel a lot of movement, most of it will be when baby is breech and you feel it in your cervix/ bladder or you'll feel it against your back.

I'm still in a wired bra because all my nursing bras are in bit of a state now and I can't face buying more just to grow out of them and at this size bras don't come cheap, I've only got 10 or so more weeks left anyway so can cope until then. I'm reading this playing with my boob because I can feel things happening, I don't remember having this before in this pregnancy. I'm still breastfeeding but the breasts still restart during pregnancy.

LadyGG, hope you're feeling better.

buttonmoon, that will be a small amount of colostrum leaking and drying quite quickly.

Eglu, glad you got the hang of it easily. Have you done it by tucking the ends in in front of you or having them outside? I find outside far better because you can tie it tighter and adjust it easier. I find most people who say the baby got too heavy were tucking in.

wolfcub, hope you're feeling better. Some babies do cry a lot but some don't. My two weren't really crying babies and never had the newborn cry either because of how early they were.

Last time they measured the baby at 4lb 15oz so were happy to leave her in, three days later she was born at 4lb 8oz so they would have taken her out sooner if they knew. Annoying how wildly scans can vary. Baby is back up the top so getting lots of movement and kicks. She's also pushing right up against me sometimes making my bump quite hard. Fortunately it's just in one spot and I can feel her spine or I'd be stressing about BH! Could do without rushing into hospital yet, really hoping he's home before that starts :(

Just noticed we're nearly at the end, any suggestions for a new name? Maybe something about the second half?

LadyGoneGaga · 04/03/2011 09:13

Back from 20 week scan - benefits of having first appointment of the day = zero waiting around. All is good - all the organs present and correct.Grin We didn't want to know gender so still none the wiser. Baby transverse at the moment but seeing as it completely changed position during the scan no need to get knickers in a twist!

So definitely no harm done by the fall.

Bit horrible walking into the room as was same scan room as when they told me had lost everything at the mc. But now have happier memories! Smile

Hope your scan goes well this afternoon, Cara.

Growth scans seem a bit useless to me. They told me at 37 weeks, DS was going to be a 9 or 10 lb whopper. He was born at 40 weeks, a respectable 8lb2oz. Hmm

Hope you're ok now, Wolfcubem - not sure what that procedure is either but sounds like you are getting good care.

Eglu · 04/03/2011 09:13

Fraochsmum glad your scan went well.

wolfcub I must say that when I was in hospital post DS1, I was kept awake by crying babies, but not mine. So they really aren't all bad. Hopefully things will be smooth sailing for you now. I too have had LLETZ in the past, and got pg with DS2 a year after it with no problems, so it shouldn't necessarily affect you.

Confuddled I was tucking in as that is whatthe book shows you to do, but once the baby is here I am happy to accept all advice on making it most comfortable. :)

nicolamumof3 · 04/03/2011 10:31

morning all, sorry not been on, not feeling great physically or emotionally atm so struggling a bit.

Glad all the scans going well. Its so reassuring isn't it? Smile

inbetweener · 04/03/2011 11:09

Morning all,

Well done on all the scans and I admire the restraint of those of you resisting to know the sex Grin
wolfcub I had forgotten about the newborns on the ward ! I hated every minute I was there and left 6 hours after dd2 was born. The noise is unbelievable and not just the babies lol !!!

Well I am 20+1 today ( love doing a countdown ) and still waiting for regular movements. I wake up every morning hoping this is going to be the morning I get a great big jolt.
I am just hoping its the low lying placenta either that or my..ahem...well padded stomach Blush. frankly I am not going to feel any better till the 14th and I have my scan Sad

Oh on a MUCH brighter note, DH picked up my Bugaboo Bee last night ! I got it so so cheap, it was £100 with a cosy toes and raincover and OMG I love it Grin. We set it up and the cat jumped in so i spent a good half an hour wheeling him round the front room lol. Just need a lovely healthy baby to put in it now !! My 2 girls were so excited, this morning to see it set up, its made me really look forward to baby arriving now Smile

Right better do some work.....Brew

inbetweener · 04/03/2011 11:13

nicola hope your ok ? Sorry i wasnt ignoring your post.

Badgerwife · 04/03/2011 13:55

Ooh, scan time! Mine's on the 10th at 20+6; I can't wait! I am really hoping to find out the sex though, I never had much patience...

Has anyone started lactating yet?

fallingandlaughing · 04/03/2011 18:43

Hello all,

congratulations on all the scans! Am 20+1 had my scan on Tuesday. Everything great which was an amazing relief as both my diabetes and my epilepsy medication increased my risk of major problems so it was great to see and hear that things are going normally.

My boobs haven't grown much (32DD to 32E) so I am sticking with underwire bras for now. Might ask the midwife to have a look to make sure I am not doing any harm unknowingly.

nicola hope you are doing OK.

JimmyChoo17 · 04/03/2011 19:34

Good news on the scans!!

Anyone suffering any pain (annoying rather than bad pain) and discomfort between boobs and belly button?? Am 21 weeks 2moro so am assuming baby is not high enough to be in that region...I just can't get comfortable and its making me feel a little icky... Its really tender and feels like ive been either really stuffed or beaten in that area?!!?

Knew this week of feeling great wouldnt last!!

Eglu · 04/03/2011 20:51

JimmyChoo I have had stretching pain over my entire stomach. It feels like my clothes are too tight, but when I change into something loose, I realise it is my skin that is too tight. :(

JimmyChoo17 · 04/03/2011 21:23

eglu it feels like its my insides rather than my skin...Ive still got space in that :)
(Especially when bump disappears again!! Que the panic!)

I know what you mean tho - my actual lower belly over bump feels like that when babys out front. Goodness knows what I will be like later in pregnancy!

Ive felt so uncomfortable all night - going to take some paracetemol so I can go to bed! x

cara2244 · 04/03/2011 22:57

Fraochsmum how's your back pain? Mine is getting horrendous - all on one side, either in hip or lower back. The GP referred me to a physio on Tuesday but not heard back yet. Anyone else with back/pelvic pain? The amount of changes I'm having to make just to function normally is crazy. Yoga is a big help.

Ladygonegaga that is nice that you have ahappy memory of the place now. I had last appointment of the day so waited 40 mins...pacing about and getting more nervous by the minute. But all was fine and it is a girl. I was surprised as I thought it was a boy! OH is a bit down as he wanted it to be another boy.

nicola maybe blame the fact that i's a girl? Old wives tale I know...but my pg this time has been so much tougher and it's a girl!
inbetweener all I'm getting is little flutters at the moment and sometimes i don't notice anything for a day or two.
