I was just about to post to say sorry for starting the July thread and then disappearing, then saw that it was all full up! So I thought I would start us a new one.

Hello to all the many many ladies that have joined the July club - it's lovely to see so many of us here. I've been trying to read back through all the old posts, but there are so many, that's partly why it's taken me so long to get back! Have also been having some personal troubles, but that's another story.

Anyway, I'm 12 weeks today and slightly looking forward to my scan on Christmas Eve, but also nervous in case it's not good news. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again and hearing how you and your bumps are going.

OP posts:

confuddledDOTcom · 23/02/2011 17:54

Just a quick post from my mobile I'll post later when I've caught up.

We're having a girl! OH is worried about the ten years of teen girls he has to look forward to! I told him it's punishment for not getting the snip 3 years ago when he was supposed to.

Jimmy I haven't done it yet but I'll sort it out later if everyone's happy. Does anyone have any preference on old or new style?

Twit · 23/02/2011 19:42

Oh dear, I've just done something I probably oughn't have... I received a £50 off £100 spend from La Redoute... then tripped over and found a free delivery code for Next...

In my defence I have few clothes that fit at the moment and as I will only get bigger... it's a capsule wardrobe that I will probably still be wearing most of come the Autumn...
I really must get a couple of bras, but have been putting it off 'cos I is massive and they cost ALOT. Grin
I may have accidentally placed some shoes in my basket as well. Wink

cara2244 · 23/02/2011 20:37

Hi everyone, just spent ages reading all the posts! Have been in the Lakes since Friday. It is a different experience pregnant - I have done a couple of decent walks but it was hard. I've rested for the past 3 days, short walks only, so hoping to do a slightly longer one tomorrow. It's been nice to have a break but frustrating to be so slow/out of breath.

Congrats to everyone on the scans.

nicolamumof3 · 23/02/2011 20:46

no preference confuddled and thanks for setting it up!
congrats on your pink bundle!! lovely news.

Twit, don't forget it is common to be more accident prone in pg Grin so don't worry about it!!

cara i am continually out of breath, enjoy the fresh air tho! We are away to cornwal end of May i want some long coastal walks but what i'll manage who knows at 34w pg!!

bumble34 · 23/02/2011 20:53

JimmyChoo17 · 23/02/2011 21:24

sues1974 · 23/02/2011 23:01

Hi
just a quicky to say hello, just been having a good catch up.
Lovely to hear of all the scans going so well and all the little girls and boys that will soon be here.
Ive got another week and a bit to wait for my scan but finally getting there, feels like its been forever. Mines on 7th March, same day as yours i think Stormbird.
Brill re facebook thanks confuddled no preference to style.
I like the idea of having a little list of names and what were having, if we know, team blue/pink or yellow.
Q for mums with 2 or more, did you buy a new mattress for each new baby? id never use a second hand one but never though about from baby to baby. i will probably be getting one for the cot bed anyway but what about the moses basket?
suz xx

confuddledDOTcom · 24/02/2011 00:37

Why isn't it allowing me to post?

confuddledDOTcom · 24/02/2011 00:46

OK... still having problems. This is silly!

Pesha · 24/02/2011 01:49

No, have used same mattress for all 3 and will use it for number 4 too. I did ask a mw when pg with ds1 if I should and she'd never heard anything about not using 2nd hand mattresses and TBH while I have heard you shouldn't I've never really come across much about it and I'm not sure how much research there is and how credible it is. I had a new moses basket for ds1 with new mattress and then used same for ds2, have a new one this time as other moses basket falling apart a bit now so new one came with a mattress but otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

Eglu · 24/02/2011 11:07

I got a new mattress last time as ours hadn't been stored very well. I am using the same on this time though as we stored it better.

Confuddled I have no preference to the type of group on FB, but think it's a fab idea.

Fraochsmum · 24/02/2011 11:54

Morning!
Congrats on all the scans, so lovely to hear that everything is well so far xxx I can't wait for mine on Wed (but still scared!), just wondering if we need to drink water this time tho? I'm sure we don't at this stage, but would rather know for certain!
Oh crap, just realised I've got a DH to pick up now...will post after lunch.

Twit · 24/02/2011 12:00

I haven't bothered except between ds2 and dd (4 1/2 yrs)however all of mine sleep on a sheepskin anyway.

I've woken up really stiff today, maybe because it's 1/2 term and I haven't been walking as normal?
I want my new clothes NOW to cheer me up and so I can hide them but they won't come for aaaaggggeeesss. Although my Next leggings and shoes should come tomorrow.
It's a really nice day today and its making me want to get the little clothes and nappies out and start washing them. But I shan't, it'll give me something to look forward to later.

Twit · 24/02/2011 12:02

X-post, sorry. No you don't need a full bladder this time. (thankfully)

Pesha · 24/02/2011 15:03

My scan letter said a comfortably full bladder. Have never had a very full bladder for any of mine though as they've always been morning appts and I struggle to drink much in mornings due to nausea/sickness.

Twit - very Envy of lots of new clothes. I really need to buy some more comfortable trousers, I have one wonderfully comfortable pair but they look quite like pjs so I tend to only wear them round the house! They're stripy cream linen so may be more passable in the summer, I hope. Have a friend's wedding to go to tomorrow evening and going to search my wardrobe in a minute to see if I can find any smart trousers that still fit. I have tops that will still fit but don't think I can get away with wearing them with jeans! I have a maxi dress that fits but think its bit much for just going to the evening do.

I'm putting off sorting out my bedroom at the moment. We had to empty the airing cupboard out yesterday for workmen so I need to sort through all the old duvet covers, curtains etc before putting it back and just generally clear out a load of junk to make room for a baby!! I want to do it and get my room nice and have somewhere for all the baby bits but I just have no energy at the moment, even breathing feels like hard work!!

Oh yes, forgot to say, have no preference over old or new style fb group.

buttonmoon78 · 24/02/2011 17:04

My new Next maternity jeans arrived on Monday - they're very comfortable and don't fall down too much. Best of all, they make my bump look like a bump rather than too many pies!

My scan's not for a while as I'm right at the back end of July. I'm v jealous of you all having your scans now!

I won't be on the FB group. I don't do FB or any of those things. I've seen it go wrong so often I don't trust it anymore. And I won't let dds go on it so I think I ought to lead by example! So just don't leave us unFB people out!

I'm looking forward to a nice dinner of salmon fillet with mushrooms and creme fraiche cooked by my mum. Yummy.

buttonmoon78 · 24/02/2011 18:57

Ok, now I'm properly jealous. I've just checked and my scan isn't until March 17th. I'll be 20+6. It's not fair - I can't wait that long!

I've checked the stats and there's no one this late really. Well, not that's still posting anyway! I'm feeling quite left out of all the scan talk... Sad

nicolamumof3 · 24/02/2011 19:47

feel terrible had to take codeine earlier for migraine. Can barely type straight! feel v.woozy and v.v.sick. Nasty. trying to eat then bed for me.

JimmyChoo17 · 24/02/2011 20:30

For those that have had their scans....did they do all of the measurements? Ihad 3 out of 4 taken and wondering why not all 4 done? It was the bhd (I think that was it) that wasn't taken.

I drank a little water for scan as said so on letter but only drank a cupful...pic was super clear.

I need to get ordering some mat clothes...are over the bump jeans better ladies?

JimmyChoo17 · 24/02/2011 20:42

Biparietal Diameter is what I am missing...I have the femur, ac and hc

Twit · 24/02/2011 21:09

I have the over the bump ones, but once I get to about end of May time I will HATE over the bump with a passion. I will be an under the bump person then - although 'cos I only get big at the front and have narrow hips I often need to wear a belt to hold them up which in itself gets uncomfortable. Around the house I will also roll the bump bit down so as to be comfy, but will roll it back up when I go out.
For afterwards I'm back to overbump 'cos they help disguise bumps and bulges.

Clear? Grin

nicolamumof3 · 24/02/2011 21:26

Underbump here but need belt to keep them up except fab next linen ones which have adjustable waist love them want some soft yoga pant style to wear at home but can't find In short arse sizes!! Dresses be good for summer

sues1974 · 24/02/2011 21:35

hi
buttonmoon my scan isnt until the 7th march, 11 more days yet, and by then you'll only have 10 days to wait for yours. im going to be 21+3 when i have my scan and we'll all be waiting to hear how yours goes still, we wont forget you :)
thanks for info re mattress ladies. Think im going to buy my son a thomas the tank engine bed so will let him have his existing mattress and buy the baby a new one but will use same moses backet and mattress thats in it.
Sorry im now going to do a mummy boast as i never have before, im always proud of my little boy and hes gorgeous and always happy and makes me smile everyday but from the NCT group he was the last to sit up, crawl etc and only started walking in november and he was 2 in january. well i arent even potty training him yet but tonight he sat on his potty and did a wee when i asked him if he could do one for mummy. going to try potty train him properly when im on mat leave (dont even really know what do to so if anyone can recommend a book or article or even a good travel potty) but i reckon thats a good start bless him :)
xx

nicolamumof3 · 24/02/2011 21:41

Ah that's lovely! All I'd say from my experience is you can't really train them take lead from them. My ds2 was very slow and felt under pressure was much harder than ds3 who suddenly decided last Easter he wanted to wear pants and was dry in 48hrs! Every child different tho
